This is the worst professor at MCC. I took the class because an advisor suggested it, worst decision ever. He changes due dates because he can't remember when or what he assigned, he STINKS like tobacco smoke all the time, don't sit in the front, you'll get an awful headache!! If you like anthropology, don't take this class! AWFUL experience.

I love this professor. He gets to teaching in a different way than most would expect. He cares about his students and wants to see us become more conscious, inspired people. We learned things that we never would have if we just stuck to the book. You do have to read the chapters, or you will be stumped on his tests.

He's a great guy but hardly teaches from the book. His online notes should suffice to use for quizzes. Shows movies a lot. The journal is insane if you do it last minute (I'm a procrastinator and did it last minute but I got an A on it). The films he shows are awesome. Overall, take it if you like to reflect on films and enjoy doing a big journal.

Very Nice guy. However, you need approx 30 hrs week throughout the term to complete all that is required. He has pet students that feeds his ego on becoming closer to "The Source". Kind of a Wayne Dwyer wannabe is what was protrayed. I personally have been down life's highway as he has. I returned to school to LEARN, not to affirm my spirituality.

He may recieve bad ratings from those students of Ant 102 but he's definitely worth taking for 101. There's two major assignments:an individual one where you have to go to RMSC, Mt. Anthropology is not an easy class. Lots of homework is assigned and it will stress tho out. However if you pay attention and are willing to learn, this professor has a lot of wisdom. He left me with an amazing outlook on life, and the last video he showed us in class is the reason I smile at strangers and try to make everyone around me have a better day. He takes an interest in his students and has a lot to offer if you can look past the rough edges. Great class to expand your knowledge.

This class is excellent for the student who has limited time outside their little bubble, whether their block, their suburb, or their country mile. It forces you to expand your worldview and presents new experiences. Self-motivation is a MUST, as most of the grade is based on ONE project. Those with more experience may find this class difficult.

Probably the hardest class I have taken so far and this teacher made it ten times harder. He was not helpful, was very rude to students who did not share his "open-minded" religious views, and definitely had a god complex. Very very very very writing intensive assignments to top it all off. Avoid this professor

Had Jethro for 2 classes my last semester @MCC, and he sponsored my paper for Scholar's Day. He is one of the most inspirational people that I've come across in my life. He forced me to take a stand on issues by opening my eyes to the world around me, and I will forever be grateful! Take the classes with him! You won't regret it.

Expect to work (really hard!), but understand that the Journal is for YOU!! You get it back at the end of the class as he says, "put on the shelf and forget it for 5-10 years". Taking the class now. Seems to know his stuff but leaves the lecturing to in-class videos, which use outdated scholarship. When he does lecture, lessons are composed of anecdotes relating to power-points. Has not discussed any form of social theory/historiography or introduced any ethnography/reading material beyond the biased textbook.

He's really caring and truly wants his students to be better global citizens. It's just very lecture based, and unless you're super interested in this topic, listening might be a bit draining. Also, you never need to show up for class if you can get the information from someone. He has a great personality and makes lectures fun to listen to.
