Tests are online, final project is worth a lot of points and graded easily if you put forth an effort.
A unique combination of easy AND interesting. He is a great professor with a mix of collegiate and real world experience (important for a marketing prof, no?). The online tests were relatively easy if you had read all of the assignments; if you actually study (as opposed to just read) there is no reason you shouldn’t ace the exams. Easy project.
Funny prof...refers to himself as keanu reeves (must not know he's gay or not that great of an actor.) Three exams which weren't too hard. Final project instead of a final which was pretty easy (but watch out because it's a group project--YUCK!) I didn't study for the exams and made a B (but I went to class.)
Really funny! Tests are pretty easy if you just read over the text. The group project isn't too bad, try to come up with something fairly interesting and entertaining and your grade will be fine.
One of the best at UNT.
Great teacher. Tests are straight from lecture and reading material. Final group project kind of lame, but nice breather from everyday lecture. Must take this professor!
Well everyone else graded him well so maybe he's better in regular semesters. I took him for Summer & he's horrible. Made A's on the test but the project is graded by the students & B on that gives you B in class. Prof is lazy & stated he doesn't like some students so he leaves early to avoid talking to them. Time to retire buddy.
This guy is such a jerk!!! He is rude to his students and refuses to answer questions politely. The end of class project is a joke that he just randomly assigns grades to. Avoid him if u can.
Tests are made from the most irrelevant material in the book. Be sure to memorize the chapters so you can get an A. He has students grade the project because he is a lazy, worthless teacher. Total waste of tuition.
Honest truth. I'm a senior and find Chowdhury to be one of the most subjective professors I've had. I am on the Deans list, and managed a high 80 because of his subjectiveness on the project. So you can obtain an A average on 3 exams but get an 82-85 on a group project and receive the B. Look elsewhere. He discourages asking questions; not helpful.
The tests were really easy for this class but the final project was graded horribly. Make sure to not cause any waves with the professor because he will grade the final project based on how he likes you. He doesn't care about his students and didn't even bother showing up to class a couple times. He also didn't tell his TA he wouldn't be there.
Awful professor. Doesn't respond to emails, grades you based on whether or not he likes you; and even misses class. Don't waste your time with this unreasonable professor, because you can work your tail off; have an 88-94 average and be slighted because of a group presentation. Do what you have to do to get out of his class.
He was really arrogant and acted like the whole class was stupid. He scolded his assistant in front of class & it was really uncomfortable. All he talks about is his personal life, his son, and his supposedly famous nephew in India.
Took his class in the spring 2009 and it was horrible. He is really rude to his students. I asked him a questions about something in the text and he yelled at me in front of the entire class. He makes you feel stupid and is never around to answer questions. The tests are hard but the final project was easy. Tests from irrelevant material
He is a major creeper. I had to go to his office to ask him a question and he looked really threatening. He grades horribly and didn't show up to class in the summer a couple times.
I'm suprised by the negative comments. He's not THAT bad. He definitely will never be up for a "Best Professor" award but his classes were simple, straightforward and somewhat interesting. He's not engaging at all but it's an easy A. Don't take him if the subject interests you -- take him if you could care less about the subject and want an easy A.
The absolute worst professor I hope to have in my college experience. Often came to class late, impossible to understand, often canceled or rescheduled class, ridiculed students, didn't explain or answer questions. One of the reasons I am not studying marketing anymore. He should find a new career. beware
Wish I had read the comments here before I took this class. Unfortunetly, hes the one who teaches global marketing so you have to take him. I tried multiple times to contact him or his TA and neither responded, which I think is inexcusable for a professor.
Great Teacher, Super entertaining and very, very smart man! I had him for International Global Marketing! Loved it and recommend it to all!!!
This Prof is really good at his job, he is smart, generous and he makes you think. Use your notes from the lectures for any exams
Easy class..learn on your own cause he goes through material very quick. Always rushing to leave class early. Did not learn much in this class but if you want an easy A then take him. Smart guy but does not have passion for this topic
Im not sure why people say he is a bad teacher. I loved his class. Yes he rushes through the class but he covers the main topics and requires you to look up the minor details later. His notes follow the book so it's very easy. Pay attn in class, study a day or two before the test and take notes on the videos. You'll get a good grade. I did!
I have had him in two different classes. He shows his photography and talks about his personal life more than he teaches. If you are looking to learn a single thing do not take this class. All learning has to be done outside of class and (in Global)there is an irrelevant project at the end of the semester where he just wants to be entertained.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. The teacher is very interesting, unfortunately 95% of what he talks about is not tested. The tests consist of the most detailed info from the book, so if you don't do exhaustive reading of the text, you will not pass. Awful class & unnecessarily difficult.
His lectures don't always cover testable material but ready the chapters to get an A in a class is easy. Quesitons are verbatim from the book. No testing the professor or wishy washy presentation of questions to trick students. Read the book, take the tests, do the group assignment at the end over a country (EASY!), and guarantee a B.
I enjoyed this class. Get with a good group for your project. He was very helpful.I leaned alot and would recommend him.
One of the most interesting professors I've had at UNT. It could be because we are both sarcastic people and I understand his sense of humor unlike most of my class. This is the 2nd class I have had with him and both were fairly easy if you are in lectures and do assignments. He likes to have random questions from the lecture on the tests be ready.
Worst professor ever. I asked him for help one day on an assignment he gave us and he goes "you're not doing it right"... OBVIOUSLY I wasn't doing it right since I needed help, but he refused to help me. Avoid at all cost.
Relatively easy class. Professor has an interesting way to lectures, but too many real life stories. 3 exams, and 1 project (do something fairly interesting)
Class was faily easy. Show up listen to lecture get test over lecture and chapters. Put some effort in it you will get a good grade.
As long as you come to class you will do well on the test. He will test you on questions that were lectured in class and on the notes he provides in blackboard as a bit from the book. His lectures are interesting and funny. We had a group project in the class that was not as hard as it seems at first and I enjoyed his class. Great Professor!
He is a very funny professor. The note in class is important and the project is not hard, but it is interesting project.
He's sort of a jerk and not very empathetic towards students in need, but I liked him anyway. No nonsense and treats you like the average boss might. He likes to ramble about his photography and irrelevant stuff, and I found myself cringing at his jokes. All the same, both the classes I had with him were interesting. Tepid recommendation.
He talks most of the time about India. Worst class I ever had.
Chowdhury is one of the better personalities of teachers you'll come across in the MKTG department. But he is very unclear during lectures, and does not cover information over test very well. There is a group project due at the end of the semester, which is very confusing cause there is no requirement or curriculum for it. Goodluck wit this class
Do YOURSELF a favor, and just don't! A class with him will be the biggest waste of time ever. But if your in need of an easy "A" he's your man.
I really liked intro to mktg. Professor Chowdhury is very knowledgeable in his field. His lectures are often more discussions as he wants to know what YOU think. He is pretty funny too but I think a lot of students didn't think so; I guess just different sense of humors. His tests are mainly over his lectures so just show up to class & your golden.
Take this class if you want an easy A. Tests are based on material in the textbook (He published) and the lectures in class. Do not take this class if you want to learn. He very effortlessly presents material... and may or may not present all chapters stated in the syllabus. *Bonus Questions on tests are based on random facts(about himself etc.)
I took Chowdhury's class summer 2 and loved it. He made me laugh and gave great examples. A lot of people hound on him for his online textbook, but personally I found it very useful. I would recommend his class to anyone.
Chowdhury is an amazing lecturer and I'm always intrigued in his teaching style. I actually want to go to class. Problem is, he speaks only from his face and there is no book, Quizlet, or powerpoint to help you study. He tests from his talks only so write down every syllable he says.
He's not a bad guy. I don't find him very inspirational; he has a tendency to meander his way through the lecture. I know he tried to joke with us a lot, but it didn't really come off well. Seems a little bit self-interested? Still, pay attention(ish) and skim the book, you'll be golden. Easy tester.
JC is an amazing professor. Cheesy jokes, but it adds to his charm. Not a lot of grades, but as long as you know how to use a computer -- you're golden. I enjoyed his E-Comm class so much that I'd take it again if I had to. Will definitely take JC for any other class he teaches. 10/10
Funny and Nice guy. Unclear on content of exams. Extra Credit. exams taken in a computer lab. Semester long group project.
To say he truly cares about your performance is an understatement. He's a professor who asks students to do more than just write some code and take some tests. He asks students to actually create something, something to have pride in. I'm using the skills taught here, in this class, out in the real world. Take this class, you will not regret it!
Over all very unclear on assignments their due dates and the content of exams. The only reason I gave 4 stars and would take again is due to how easy the class is and how laid back he can be. Show up to class and keep an eye out for his emails and there's no reason not to pass.
A semester long group project that is a 20 minute presentation. We received no rubric or guidelines. He is not willing to hear out your ideas or assist in anyway. He lectures all class and goes off on random stories. Lectures are uploaded online, but attendance is mandatory. The textbook was written by him so its good to get test questions from.
This class was so boring. In order to pass this class you must show up and be present and listen to his horrible jokes and long, obnoxious lectures. He makes his own book that you have to purchase which is horribly written. I could barely go to class most of the days because I dreaded going. He's the only one that teaches this class so GOOD LUCK.
Honestly this guy just likes to hear himself talk. The reviews are accurate. He rarely talks about the subject matter and I can honestly say I didn't learn anything from the class except that he obviously thinks America isn't that great and constantly talks about our downfalls. His tests are irrelevant for the most part to his lectures.
He is a nice, caring professor. I took him in the summer and his class is 4 tests. He doesn't even make you buy the book. He's funny and can get off topic, but that keeps the class from getting boring. If you pay attention in class and don't read the book, then you'll get an A or B depending on how much effort you put into it.
Caring and good teacher. If you go to class and just read what he says you'll be great. Took in the summer 5 weeks , 2 hour classes are hard but he helped with jokes and videos. I am taking him again in the fall for other marketing classes . Wait to see if he tells you to buy book
Caring funny easiest class ever just go to class and listen should not receive less than a B . EASY A! He has been my favorite professor to take so far in COB . Doesn't require a book and his book was less than $20.
He is an amazing lecturer. If you don't mind dad jokes and small tangents (eventually he ties a tangent to material) then this class is great. His tests are easy if you show up to class and pay attention. He will give you real world examples. He is one of the most helpful professor I've had at UNT.
Professor Chowdhury was a great instructor for this course. I took this for 5 week summer 2. He always relates his lecture to stories in his actual life which makes it fun. You cannot skip class because his lecture is in his exams. He makes you work for your grade, but his exams aren't hard if you study. Overall, I would take him again. Great guy!
Jhinuk was a very interesting teacher. His teaching style is unconventional but very refreshing; he uses analogous examples, videos and articles to transmit the material. I know there is a large cohort that is only interested in the professor's difficulty, but if you are like me -- interested in retaining the material -- then take this professor.
Usual teaching style. Likes to tell stories, but can sometimes get carried away. If you like lecturers that read off power points, he is not the professor for you. Overall, I very much enjoyed the class.
Professor Chowdhury is one of my top 3 favorite professors. His style of teaching is through stories and him giving you real world examples. His lectures are quite interesting. He doesn't make the textbook mandatory and gives you a really good price for it if you do want to buy it. I looked forward to going to his class.
I loved this professor and I found myself looking for other classes with him! Buy the online book, its like $15! Get in a good group... he makes a lot of dad jokes
Super fun class! The group project is really interesting and informative and the professor is really funny!! Loved his dad jokes
Dr. Chowdurys way of teaching is very refreshing he incorporates life experiences to his lectures that pulls away from the normal textbook/PowerPoint exams.
Super funny, bad time management, fair grader, Dad jokes.
You were extra dope!
He's pretty funny, there's a massive group project that you have to do which he gives you free reign to work on.
I've already taken this professor twice. I get a kick out of his courses. I'd take him every semester if possible. Possibly my most favorite professor at UNT so far. I gave him the chile pepper, man deserves respect.
Dr. Chowdhury is very passionate about culture and marketing. His enthusiasm for the subject makes the content engaging, interesting and thoroughly enjoyable. A unique presenter and i would happily take another of his classes... in fact I am!
He sells you his book and it's really affordable and to the point. Great professor where if you do you work you will be rewarded with an A. Would definitely take again, pretty chill.
I really enjoyed Prof Chowdury. I liked how he made this class more about real life and engages with students. Very funny guy.
Great Prof. I normally don't write reviews, but he genuinely care about your success. If you don't learn anything about Global Marketing, you will learn a lot about life. Total dad with dad jokes. His tests are straight from his reviews, great content. His lectures are entertaining. I had perfect attendance (this never happens). Take him!
Incredibly knowledgeable about culture. He made class very interesting with all of his stories and jokes. He is a genuine person and really gives you all the tools to succeed, even his textbook is not required BUT if you chose to buy it he gives you a 90% discount. Great person, professor, and photographer! Easy A if you show up to class.
Be prepared to read his online textbook thoroughly to do well on the exams, questions are specific.
He is a nice professor and class is easy as long as you study
Such a great professor! He genuinely cares about his students' success. He gives you everything you need to success in the class. His dad jokes make the class very entertaining! Take him!
He isnt a great professor, very funny, makes you want to pay attention. There is a group project but it makes you learn. He has so much knowledge if i could take him every semester I would. DO TAKE HIM! he is great!!
Professor Chowdhury is really passionate about marketing and international culture. He knows a lot. His teaching style is orally based so you really have to listen. He will explain concepts and then gives real life examples. You don't need the textbook as long as you pay attention in class. The group project is a lot of work but rewarding
He is a very kind person. He genuinely enjoys making you laugh and enjoy the class, even if the topic at hand isn't particularly interesting at that moment. He cares about your feelings towards him and the class because he is continuously trying to improve his teaching and your learning experience. Ignore rude reviews & study hard for exams.
I really enjoyed his class. It was very interesting to see how different cultures treat different social situations and how it can be applied to business. only real work load for the class is the group project. meet with your group early in the semester and you will do fine in his class.
amazing professor, he has a very innovating way of teaching. He makes his class fun and interactive. He cares about your opinion and works to optimize your learning. Very smart and witty person, also hilarious. TAKE HIM! there's three exams and a group project that is actually very fun. RECOMMEND!!!
Professor Chowdhury is one of the best professors on UNT, he's funny and truly cares about his students being successful. I'm glad I'm taking him next semester too, so it'll be great. Very funny and amazing professor at UNT, and whoever complains of him not rounding up should maybe study harder rather than complain about a great professor.
He is an amazing professor and is super nice, and funny. He really cares about his students and tries to make class interesting. Easy A and would definitely take him again!
I enjoyed his teaching style. I can tell he has a passion for the subject. He doesn't just go based on his Powerpoint, he makes whatever he is teaching relate to real life experiences, and how it is relevant to a future career. His material is straight forward, so if you put in the work, you'll receive a good grade. The project was interesting too.
Hands down one of my favorite classes I've taken at UNT. It's transparent he really cares about the students and wants to make sure you understand the class. He doesn't try to complicate the material. If I wasn't graduating, I'd take one of his classes again. His sense of humor and dad jokes also made the class more enjoyable. Take him. Trust me.
I loved this class! His lectures are done through storytelling, he tries to keep it interesting and he'll make corny jokes. The exams are exactly what the text book says, and it's cheap! I might not pass his class because I failed the first exam, which was one out of 5 others I had that week. But he's great and I'd def take him again!!
Best class I have taken at UNT. JC keeps everything entertaining and he's so funny! It's my first, but hopefully not my last class with him! I'm trying to take more of his classes in the coming semesters! I read the book and got A's on both exams, then he does a big project. Go to class, buy the cheap book, and work hard on the project.
He is the BEST EVERRRR!!!! I wan't a fan of the group project but who is? I learned so much in this class though and I want to try to take him for other classes! He's hilarious and so cool. I enjoyed his lectures and read the book and made A's on his exams. Even if you don't read the book you'll do well in this class. It's my favorite class!
He's a really cool professor. I went to class and took notes and I got a good grade. He's very strait forward on his exams so if you listen you will do well. He has one group project you work on all semester which does actually require work. If you put the time into the two exams, the project and then the final you will do well.
I loved this class! he is such a great professor so i signed up for another one of his classes next semester. His exams are pretty straight forward, if you study then you'll do well.
One of the best, if not the best, professors at UNT. Funny guy always willing to help you out. He relates to the students in a funny way. Will defiantly be taking more classes with him. He gives you 90% off his online book which is insanely helpful. TAKE THIS GUY!!!
Took both Internet Marketing and Global Marketing with him. Does his best to relate to his students. Loves dad jokes. Lectures lean towards storytelling. Gives you up to 90% off of his textbook. 3 exams with the final being cumulative. The group project(s) can be fun depending on the topic you choose. One of my favorites in the marketing department
Doesnt give any extra credit or bump at all. Test are not even from the powerpoint . Got an A because im an A student. But you have to wing it even after studying.
Tests are straightforward if you read his online book (like $15) and pay attention in class. He doesn't give ec, but will scale your score to a higher grade depending on how everyone else did. He's funny and tries to make the class interesting. There are 3 tests, 1 group project (pick a country and present about it) and a few outside quizzes.
He is a really great professor, i recommend him to everyone.
Professor is well spoken, and engaging. Pay attention in class as some test questions will come from the lectures. Would take again.
Awesome professor, absolutely hilarious, project is a huge part, but as long as you try youll get a B if you go above and beyond youll get an A
Was really understanding when I couldn't show up for the group presentation. He is super funny. "Textbook" is super cheap and online. There is a group project, but he makes it fun and open ended (make it really interesting and out of the ordinary) He is super cool, take him.
Very good professor. Interesting lectures with intriguing content. Tests are a little tough because the questions can be somewhat specific, but overall not too bad. There is a group project with a presentation at the end. There is little guidance but it is graded easily.
Hes super goofy and knowledgeable. Get ready for many dad jokes!
Was a fun class, the final project can be a little challenging but overall a good experience.
His class was one of my favorite classes. He does not require the textbook which is nice. You do have one group project but if you start early it should not be challenging to complete. His test are kind of specific so do not wait until the last minute to study.
His Global Marketing class was interesting. It was definitely a good use of time. Not too difficult for what you get out of the class. You'll only need to study for an hour or so. Lectures are interesting and funny and Chowdhury really knows how to teach. Don't buy the textbook though. All of the information is in the slides which he'll post.
One of my favorite professors ever, he keeps the lectures entertaining often telling "dad jokes". Doesn't make you get the book, however, he gives giant discount on it if you do want to buy it. All around he is a great professor, I highly recommend.
Overall Professor Chowdhury was a decent instructor. He likes to lecture through storytelling and at times can be difficult to differentiate what will be on the test and what is just random information. There is a semester long group project. He also likes to tell a lot of jokes.
He is probably my favorite professor. Not only does he actually care about his students and their success, but he loves to make his lectures interesting. He doesn't go on tangents with stories and jokes, he adds these to the lectures to captivate his audience and make it more engaging and interesting. Class is still senior level class, but not hard
A really intriguing professor with a unique style of lecture. GET THE ONLINE TEXTBOOK HER OFFERS. Without it, you will struggle.
Chowdhury is a great professor! His teaching style is really more like story telling but his power points really summarize what will be on his exams. Quizzes were not difficult and there is a semester long project where you present with a group for 20 minutes. Overall loved the dad jokes and getting off topic every now and then
Some of the lectures are interesting while the others are drawn out and a drag. The test you need to study for, however, he does curve them a good amount to help the class average.
I really enjoyed Chowdury's lectures. Although I took this class as a 3 hour night class, his lectures were engaging and interesting. The project was not difficult at all. Definitely, come to class so you are prepared for the exams, but even without studying you can make a B. I never touched the textbook, but I did show up to every class.
Chowdhury has to be one of the more impressive professors I have dealt with at UNT! Never had a professor who managed to keep me engaged in a 3-hour class on a Monday but his dad jokes really helped! His exams are a little difficult but he gives a large discount on the textbook to use as a resource!
Chowdhury is a great professor, he is knowledgeable about the material he is teaching. He tells a lot of jokes and gets carried away some times during lectures. It is a tough class to take for a 3 hour night class but not too bad. There is a group project that he gives you lots of freedom to work on. I would recommend him.
He genuinely cares about the course material. The class itself isn't very difficult, but you could have a problem if you get group members who don't want to participate.
Professor Chowdhury is a jokester. He likes to joke about Game of Thrones, his son, and himself. He does take attendance but does not grade by it. He does require a group presentation, but does not grade harshly. Quizlets and his powerpoints will guarantee good exam grades (which is where the majority of your grades come from). He usually curves.
a great professor
Hes a really great professor and is super funny during lectures. He gives an amazing discount on his textbook to his students and its super helpful. You can tell he cares about his students and also likes an occasional dad joke. Would take another class from him if I can!
He's such a dad, but that makes class enjoyable. His exams are over his lectures so please attend. The group project is not difficult because he lets you do you what you want with it. Just make sure you keep up with assignments. Overall great class and great professor!
Gives an incredible discount on his textbook to his students! Overall great professor. Lectures can drag a little being 3 hours, but he makes it interesting, tells lots of jokes, & gives a break. One group project that is super easy & fun if you have a good group. Exams come straight from the textbook & lecture slides. Attend class & its an easy A
He's a funny and down to earth guy with a good grasp on what he teaches. He is one of those professors that wants you to buy a book he authored, but he gives you a massive (90-95%; it costs like $5) discount, so he's not fleecing you like half the other hacks that write their own books in UNT's business school. Overall, I would recommend him.
Dr. Chowdhury is awesome! Definitely taking another class of his in the future.
This is a challenging professor however he has been one of the best teachers I could have asked for, he cares about his students and made coming to this class and learning lots of fun. I looked forward to going to class every week.
Chowdhury is one of my favorite professors I have had at UNT. He is really passionate about the subjects he teaches and it shows in class. Has some of the driest Dad jokes ever, but if you like dry humor you will find him hilarious. I have taken his web design class and this MKTG 3720 class and they both provided me with a ton of useful info!
Very good professor. I really enjoyed his class. The biggest thing was the group project, which he gives you the freedom to do it over any topic. The book is online and it is KEY to doing well on the test, it also has practice questions to help with the test. Do Not Skip the guest lectures, he asks questions on them on the test-nothing hard.
Hes a good professor! I liked this class. Big group project you should work on throughout the semester but its actually a pretty interesting project. Hes not great at responding to emails so just try to get him after class. Tests are long and a little difficult if you dont take notes and study properly
Amazing professor and really enjoys his time in front of the class.
Hes one of the funniest professor i have ever taken, hes very sweet as well. He gives you a discount code at the beginning of the class to buy his ebook, like a 90% discount. There will be 3 in class exams including the final and a group project that you will have to present at the end (25% of the grade) definitely recommend him.
Taken him 4 times now and highly regret it. His lectures are a waste of time but he made attendance mandatory so showing up is required. Class is super unorganized and it takes him 3 days to complete one chapter. He also uses same material for all of his classes. Easy class just really unstructured for a senior capstone.
Professor Chowdhury is one of my favorite professors at UNT. He's super hilarious with his dad jokes and very interesting during lectures. You have random assignments and only 48 hours to complete them, but they are easy and not very often. The big thing is the group project, but you have all semester to prepare. I highly recommend him!
One of the best courses I have taken at the University of North Texas. In the Marketing Department, his is the only course that taught me things of real value. I respect Dr. Chowdhury a lot. Her has much empathy for his students and either very hard to ensure that they receive a high level of education experience.
Professor Chowdhury is a very tough grader. There isnt much work you have to complete but he grades very tough on the group project. There is 3 exams that make up 60% of your grade and they are very hard. He does not provide a study guide. Exams are timed and have to be taken on school laptops. Good luck taking this class!!
Very little that was graded in this class. A few participation assignments, 2 projects, and 3 exams. If you go to class you will be able to stay on top of things. Make sure you start working on your projects as soon as he starts talking about them and you will be stress-free. He is very slow to communicate with a lot of things but good class.
GREAT PROF! I had Chowdhury for Internet mktg and for global. All his classes are laid out the same. 2 exams, 1 final, and a huge group presentation. Make sure you find a good group because the project is a big grade. Lectures can be interesting and boring at times, but he really cares about the material and has hilarious dad jokes.
I jumped into my marketing minor late in academic career, and because of that had trouble adjusting to business/marketing classes. Dr. Chowdhury's classes were a breath of fresh air due to their clear and student-centered approach. I have taken two over the past year and immensely enjoyed both. 10/10 would take again.
Dr. Chowdhury is a rare gem of a professor who couples wit and intellect in his lectures. Overall, the class was interesting. As a student of Dr. Chowdhury, you will learn in-depth about business communication in a global context. The amount of course work was very reasonable. You will likely have one group project. The exams were very good.
Dr. Chowdhury is a great professor!! There is 3 exams and a group project. If you review the textbook you will be good for the exams. Also, he provides a discount code for the textbook that gives a great percentage off. Overall, highly recommend taking him!!
This class was definitely worth it! I enjoyed Professor Chowdhury because he would crack jokes during his lectures and the content he provided made class go by quickly. Make sure to read the chapters given and you will do really well on the tests. There was 3 exams, 1 group project, and a few easy assignments.
Overall easy class as long as you read the textbook which is very short. No homework really and the exams are very easy to prepare for.
Study the book, read a bunch of quizlets and you'll get an "A". It's not an easy A but definetely attainable.
I really enjoyed his class, he is funny and cares about his students. His tests are long (about 70 questions) but straight from the book. I cannot stress this enough buy the book and read it before tests, it's an easy class if you just try a little. There's one group presentation so make sure you pick a good group
He is a great professor! Buy the online book because you gonna need it for exams. Exams are easy as long as you read carefully the book. The only challenging assignment is the group project, but honestly its up to you. He gives you freedom from the project and is not hard on grade! Highly recommend him
Dr. Chowdhury is a great professor! He made learning the course material fun, engaging, and applicable to real life. I'm an "adult learner" and work full-time, and he made me want to stay for the entire class time. You'll learn more than just the course material with Dr. Chowdhury.
His textbook is very well written and very easy to follow along. I would read the short 2 chapters before each exam and I excelled in the class. The project presentation was a great tool that he used to not only let the class educate each other, but to enhance our communication and presenting skills. 10/10 would take again.
I loved professor Chowdhury! I took his 3 hour night class after full 9 hour days at work, and his jokes made it so much better. (if you like cheesy dad-jokes at least.) There is a big group project that you're expected to work on all semester and the exams are very clear but detailed. I would absolutely take his class again and recommend him!!
Everything taught in class is valuable and easily applicable if you take the time to learn the concepts. Read the textbook and take the practice quizzes because they help! Prof Chowdhury also loves storytelling and can ramble sometimes. I say it gives character. Also, pay attention the the Ted Talks. The group project was oof but really insightful.
Chowdhury is a funny guy who can help you understand some of the complexities of our evermore interconnected world. Worth taking the course just for the knowledge, but having a good professor who understands internet culture makes it an enjoyable experience.
Chowdhury is one of a kind professor! He is one of the few professors in the marketing dept. that actually cares about the students and what they learn/ take away from the material taught. The tests can be the hardest part due to studying everything but he throws curve balls of random chart facts. Project is rough but START early do not wait!
Really interesting professor, he truly enjoys teaching. You do have an important group project which is the "hardest" part so YMMV. That reminds me, the man is cultured in the online arts. Fun class overall, attend every class, you'll not only learn about the subject but other fun things.
His lectures are very entertaining and as long as you show up to class and study his notes and textbook then you will be good for the exams. I would take him again.
Dr. Chowdhury is an exellent teacher. You would do good in class if you come to every class and read his book. Tests are easy if you pay attention in his class and take notes. Do not expect an "A" if you do not study but Dr. Chowdhury makes the the clase very interesting and easy to understand.
Dad Jokes. Exams based on lectures. Read the textbook. Take notes using powerpoint. Lectures are interesting. Paperless professor (everything online through canvas). Good professor. Would recommend. Easy professor. Enjoyed the class.
He's really an amazing teacher. He is knowledgeable in this class and gives excellent viewpoints on his topics. As long as you study and pay attention in his class you should have no problem with his test. And also,,,beware of the dad jokes. I would recommend him to my friends.
Very smart and great teacher
I genuinely loved Dr. Chowdhury's class. He has a good sense of humor and his lectures are engaging, interesting, and very educational. I honestly learned a lot from this class and the group project helped me improve my public speaking skills. I would recommend taking Dr. Chowdhury because he truly cares about his students.
I have truly enjoyed my time in Dr. Chowdhury's class. I took both his intro to Marketing and Global Marketing class. Dr. Chowdhury is extremely dedicated and very knowledgeable about the subjects he teaches. He is very funny, and his lectures are interesting and engaging.
Definitely a good professor! His exams are very, very specific, so be sure to pay attention in class. He teaches mostly through stories, so make sure you like that beforehand. Overall a great professor, just pay attention and do the readings and you should be alright.
Come to class and read the textbook wonderful prof.
I really enjoyed this class, there was not a ton of homework, and his lectures were really interesting. He is an amazing teacher, would highly recommend!
Professor Chowdhury is a must take professor. He listens to what his students want, adapts his classroom to your needs, and only wants what is best for his students. Coursework is very light, but you MUST BUYTHE BOOK. He gives a 90% off discount code to his book the first week of class ($25 total). He lives for his students. Respect and reccommend
Really good Professor!! Easy A if you go to the class and get his textbook.
By far one of the best professors on campus . If I could i would take his class again. Really clear when it comes to grade. He breaks downs each part of marketing very well. Within the marketing department I highly recommend taking his course you wont regret it.
Professor Chowdhury is one of the best if not the best professor Ive taken at UNT. He is always available to help. Buy his own textbook, which he gives you a discount code, and read the chapters before the exams they help A LOT! Would definitely take him again!
Dr. Chowdhury really cares about his students. He is very understanding and easy to talk to. There is a major semester-long project that is a lot of work but really its rewarding and the highlight of the class. Dr. Chowdhury is passionate about culture and teaching, which makes coming to class easy. Highly recommend !!
If I could take another one of his classes, I would! Dad jokes galore. He actually cares, tells real stories, and applies feedback. Some of the cultural material (5 dimensions, etc) is covered in BUSI3660, but he goes more in-depth. The Ted talks are on the test. Be prepared for the group project (work outside class)! Pay attention, it's useful!
You honestly learn a lot from this course. The tests are pretty simple if you read the textbook, which is very cheap with a code he gives you. The class is structured around a semester-long project, YOU MUST START WORKING ON ASAP. Don't wait till the last minute, because it requires a lot of research and thought. Make sure you select a good group.
Made transition mid-semester fairly seamless. Amazing lecturer. You don't need textbook but it helps for tests, questions come directly from there.
Professor Chowdhury was a good professor, but the grading was very odd. We had a semester long project that was only graded on the number of "likes" it got in a discussion thread, and did not reflect the effort that we had dedicated to it. Textbook isn't required, but helps for exams.
I LOVED taking professor Chowdhury, I took him 3 semesters in a row. He is an amazing teacher, very relatable, and does not grade harshly. He gives great feedback and is willing to help whenever needed. HIGHLY recommend.
UNT should be lucky to have Jhinuk. Other professors in the UNT College of Business need to take notes from him because he is a model professor honestly. I took his MKTG 3650 course in the summer and he was awesome - just listen to his lectures and read the SHORT textbook chapters and you will make A's on his tests. It's that simple. Thanks prof!
Professor Chowdhury has been on the best professors here at UNT. He knows so much about marketing and how it works in the context of real world scenarios. Although this was an online class, thanks to COVID, he was very interactive through the pre-recorded lectures and zoom meetings. If you prepare and go over ALL the material you should get an A.
This professor was awesome. Honestly my own fault I got the grade I did. Even though it was his first semester teaching online and it wasn't meant to be online, he still worked hard to make sure we learned the needed material.
Super duper easy classShow up and participate
First off I would like to say he created his own textbook specifically for this course, which only cost me $20. Talk about caring for his students. Despite COVID changes, he made it very easy to follow along with what we were learning with his online lectures. Not much homework at all, and if you prepared, the test are straight-foward. Love him.
He's one of the better professors at UNT. As long as he see's you're trying, he will work with you. Don't be afraid to email him because he's pretty helpful. This semester his syllabus was unorganized and assignments were all over the place, but I think the pandemic has slowed everyone down. Definitely would take again.
Would take again. Very few but helpful lecture sessions in online classes. Good feedback, I would skim the book that he has but if you read and watch everything in the modules that he gives you you will pass with an easy A+.
Overall, he was a good professor. He has his own online textbook for which he gives a huge discount and it's really helpful as well. He cares about students and responds to emails quickly. Good choice. Easy A.
Professor Chowdhury is wonderful. He made MKTG course enjoyable. There will be a virtual textbook but it isn't required. However, I recommend you purchase the book. He will give you a huge discount on the textbook. It's super cheap compare to other courses. He responses to your email real quick. His exams are written for your success. Take him!!!
funny and nice
Amazing professor! Very caring, gives you all the information you need and is very easy going! 10/10 recommend taking all his classes
Easy class! Just read the book and watch his lecture. If you take detailed notes from lecture, watch his videos and read the book you should be able to get an A in this class.
We were supposed to have zoom class twice a week, I haven't seen him since the first week of class. Its an easy class, watch the lectures and take detailed notes. Textbook isn't mandatory but it is helpful and he gives you a discount. Average teacher.
best professor in the entire college of business hands down! he truly cares for his students and caters the class towards our needs. he also tell a lot of dad jokes during class which keeps the class entertaining. never failed to put a smile on my face during class
Either read the book or simply watch his lectures and it is an easy A. He gives students the opportunity to beef up their resumes by making certifications such as Google Analytics an assignment. He is funny and more relatable than you would think. He cares about his students and their success not only in class but in their careers.
Really cares about his students and how they are doing. Really easy to reach out to when I needed to ask a question. You can also really tell that he knows what he's talking about and talks very passionately about the topics he covers in class. Exams are not too difficult as long as you pay attention to lessons/powerpoints, read his book, & videos.
Dr. Chowdhury is the BEST professor in the Marketing Dept. Take every class he instructs because they are worth every minute! Assignments are realistic and applicable to the field of marketing and will help you build your resume. Buy his text book, makes class much easier and lectures follow the book. Cannot say enough good things about this prof!
Professor Chowdhury is an AMAZING professor. He is so funny and tries to relate to his students. He is so caring and considerate. I took his class online due to COVID, but it was still a great experience. He has PowerPoint with his lectures that help on the test. He also has his own book that is super cheap, and it helps on the test. I would get it
I had him for both 3720 & 4280, and both of those classes made the 18 hrs I had taken bearable. Class was engaging,& you can tell that he knows what he's teaching & cares about the well-being of his students. In general, and especially during a pandemic, this is the type of professor you want. Only critique: Bit more organization/structure
Professor Chowdhury is probably one of my favorite professors so far in my 3 years of college. He really cares about his students succeeding, and is very knowledgable in global marketing. The book is optional, but worth it; considering it's only $20 with his coupon code. Overall I really enjoyed this class and what professor Chowdhury had to offer.
I took this class last semester and didn't get the best grade because I had a missing assignment. That wasn't the teacher's fault, I just procrastinated. Do your work (it's not hard it just requires time) and you will excel. His assignments include obtaining certification that is invaluable in the day in age.
This class was taken in the Summer 2021 Session. Very flexible since it was an online class and he gives you a discounted price on the textbook for his class so make sure you use it.
Professor Chowdhury is great! If you watch and take notes over the lectures and videos, you will easily get an A in the class. The notes you take will be helpful once it is time for the exam's! That is all you have to review! I recommend you get his discounted textbook, it was an additional benefit once it came time to review for the exam.
Took this prof for 4280 online and was excited to have him in-person for 4620. Big Mistake. He is very disoriented and has no clue what he is doing. The first few weeks we did absolutely nothing then were thrown into a major project that he kept changing the req for. Then he decides to assign us another proj Thanksgiving week. Exams v hard as well.
Do not recommend. So much of this class was wasted and then huge projects last minute. The content was interesting but his teaching style was test heavy. The test also seem like trick questions often. I studied a lot and the exams did not reflect well. You basically have to know everything and CSS/HTML is not a light topic. The internet taught me.
Caring Funny Guy but the class was easy content made complicated. The class wasnt organized and was test heavy. Trick questions. I have never in my four years struggled so much with a class with such simple content. Really shouldnt have been so difficult to pass exams. No homework but I think that wouldve been helpful.
Dr Chowdhury is a very chill professor, very fun man and makes class super enjoyable. I'm not great at marketing so I didn't do the best but that's on me not him. Super amazing man, who cares about you as a student. We originally had a project but he canceled it because the class voted not to due it so it became a test heavy class which I didnt like
still the best professor I have ever had at unt! his lectures are very entertaining and he tells stories to help us remember the context! genuinely cares about his students and wants us to success. he is also very very funny and I have never had an instructor this hilarious.
This is the second course with with Professor Chowdhury and he is amazing. YOU have to put in the effort for his classes. He always starts the semesters with letting us know he does not give out grades, you have to earn them (along those lines). He truly cares for the course and his students. I commute to his classes and it is worth it!
Prof Chowdhury was by far the best prof that I have ever had. This semester attendance was not a grade but I never missed a class because his lectures are so entertaining and interesting. Going to class, and reading his online textbook will earn you an A very easily. By far the best class/prof ever. It was extremely interesting and extremely easy.
This was one of the only classes I've taken at this university where I didn't feel bummed to come to. The professor is very funny and actually teaches his content for the class properly. There are many references to look at when studying for quizzes, and lots of chances to make an A in this class. I would definitely take any of his classes again.
Professor Chowdhury was such a great professor! He made class really interesting and he's very caring! His tests are very simple if you read the textbook and come to class. Attendance isn't mandatory but I would recommend not missing lectures. His assignments and discussions were very simple as well! I definitely recommend taking him!
Very enjoyable class. Lectures are very straightforward and exams are easy as long as you go to lecture and read the book. Would definitely take this Professor again!
He's great! pay attention to class, take notes, and watch the TEDTalks on Canvas to be successful. He is lecture heavy but you don't have to read the book. He's great and has entertaining lectures. Easy tests, but VERY detail oriented. Pay attention to every little detail in lecture and TEDTALKS ESPECIALLY. That's really the only downside. TAKE JC!
Hes an amazing professor!!! Hes by far my most favorite professor at UNT. It doesnt get any better than him! I highly suggest taking him.
Such an easy class and a reall great guy. I'm grateful for the textbook, which was paramount to acing exams. Exams are super easy questions from the textbook and lectures. I appreciated this class and the professor when I'm swamped with other classes projects worth half my grade. Show up, read the book, have a laugh.
Genuinely one of the best professors at UNT! Highly recommend his Global Marketing class. He makes lectures fun, memorable and engaging, and truly cares about his students. To do well in the class, get the textbook! it is very readable and will help tremendously for the exams. You will not regret taking his class!
I really like this professor, but this class caused some undue stress. The projects are not hard but they are time consuming. I would rather have had instructions given at the beginning of the semester on all projects so I could work on them freely over time. Professor is smart and fun and I would take him again with a few adjustments.
Great professor, makes lecture fun and engaging. Gives you all the resources to succeed.
Professor chowdhury is by far one of the best professors I have ever had. He is funny, and his lectures are quite interesting. If u take any sort of note you on his lectures you should be able to at least get a B in his class. He teaches other courses too so I would recommend taking him again.
A great professor that has so much experience and knowledge to share, at the same time really funny and makes the content easy and understandable. He helps all the students and you can tell he truly enjoys his job. Just read the material and prep well as well as writing notes.
His style of teaching is somewhat unconventional but he gives clear criteria for projects and assignments. Additional his instruction is very much what is happening in the industry and the information he provides is extremely relevant.
Best professor at UNT
This professor is the best you can take for Marketing. He truly cares about his students and his exams are from his lectures and youtube videos. Although the book is optional it is helpful for studying. He does get specific with his exam questions to pay attention to details when studying. Assignments are quite easy. No cumulative final.
Great professor who cares about his students. Exams are weighted heavy, not much homework.
great professor. Book is very affordable. Loves to teach and is very helpful. Tests are straight forward and directly form the book / lectures. Make sure to watch the YouTube videos
The best professor I've ever had! He makes lectures very interesting and fun but if you don't show up or pay attention, you won't pass the exams. The exams are very easy to pass if you study and prepare for them and it was very easy preparing for them. The textbook is extremely helpful and he gives you a coupon code for it!
I loved taking Chowdhury's MKTG this semester, he was such a wonderful professor and person overall. The course is primarily based on exams but with his lectures he gives everything an easy understanding. As long as you listen and take notes on his lectures and videos to watch you'll do well. He is such a kind and understanding prof 100% take him!
He is a professor that cares about his students and shows it by the way he lectures. Lectures were always interesting beware the things he talks about during the lecture are on exams. He likes telling stories which always entertaining and keep the class engaging. His exams were doable as long as you go to lecture and watch the assigned videos.
A very fine professor, teaching the class with much enthusiasm
Okay, let's be real. Marketing is a little tough no matter what professor you take.... so why take a bad one when you could have Chowdhury? It will be 4 exams weighted at 80% that scared me at first, but if you study the PowerPoint and study the videos provided, this class is an A. Put in the work he requires. Fun class with amazing dad jokes. Love
I really liked how he teaches his class. It was a fun and engaging class, definitely not something you just sleep through. For exams you really gotta pay attention to what he says, his PowerPoints, and the textbook. But dont worry the textbook is very cheap with the discount code he provides. Grade wise its mainly exams and a few assignments.
So far in the class, I've had a good time during his lectures and learning the material. The exams are oriented around his lectures and the study guides he sends out. As long as you can understand everything he sends out in the study guide, the exams shouldn't be too difficult.
I know he reads these and cares about his rating here so I figured Id help him out. Great professor who cares about students learning. He likes telling stories to explain concepts and Im here for it.
He is so caring. His lectures are amazing. I don't want to miss his lecture he gives us lots of information other than text books. Even if you miss the class you can always refer to his recordings. He is very understanding and he knows what a student will need in his/her life to succeed. I got 2 word press certificate in this class. Referral- 100%
This professor makes marketing easy! All you got to do is pay attention to his lectures and watch the TedTalks that he assigns and you should be fine. My mistake with some of the exams was not watching the videos, which brought down my final grade for the exams. He also curves and does a lot of dad jokes which I love (-: Exams are 80% of your grade
Professor Chowdhury's lectures are interesting and he tells a lot of jokes! Attendance is not mandatory and you just have to read his own textbook for the exam, each chapter is really short to read. His 4 exams are 80% but he curves them so you will probably get an A.
I thoroughly enjoyed this class!! His lectures are very entertaining because he is personable with his students and still manages to get the curriculum across. The textbook wasn't mandatory but it was very helpful and beneficial to understanding the concepts taught in class. Great price too! I would definitely take this class again! He's awesome!!
Dr. Chowdhury is a really good professor. He's very funny and uses humor and stories to keep lectures fun and engaging. This course features an online textbook that he created; however, he does not require you to purchase it. The textbook is essentially the lectures in written form and it is a great study tool. The text is useful and cheap!
I wish Chowdhury taught the entire marketing department. I don't think I've ever seen a professor care so much about his students well being. The tests are not hard at all as long as you prepare for them (review the PPT, watch TedTalks, and most importantly read the textbook!). The textbook chapters are also super short & easy to read. Fun class!
Great professor who truly cares about what he teaches and makes lectures engaging and fun. He teaches through telling stories about personal experiences.
Professor Chowdhury is an outstanding professor! I definitely recommend him and his lectures are always great to listen to. He definitely cares about each and every single student and I'm glad he is my Marketing Professor this semester!
Very good professor! Really cares about students and wants us to learn!
Dr. Chowdhury is an extremely experienced and disciplined professor with a love and talent for learning. However, be sure to pay attention to the smallest details. This tests will ask questions about the youtube videos, the linked in learning videos, and the power points. Also, Dr. Chowdhury loves attendance.
I took Chowdhury for 3 marketing classes to fulfill my marketing minor, and I loved every class. His laidback and funny personality made the material fun to learn. I took his digital marketing and e-marketing tools classes, and now I'm in the process of potentially starting 2 internships in those fields. One of my favorite professors at UNT!
Dr. Chowdhury is one of the best professors I have came across. He is very passionate about his work. Course was structured around a few assignments and 4 total exams. Make sure to attend class and to ask questions in order to prepare yourself for the exams. He is very reasonable and will help you if you reach out.
Wonderful professor. Truly cares about students succeeding in his course and just wants them to enjoy marketing. If you show up to class and read the textbook you will do great. 10/10 recommend. Lectures can get a bit sidetracked but they are usually related to the topic.
Professor Chowdhury is very knowledgeable about the evolution of the internet, computers, and all things digital marketing. He prides himself on teaching through storytelling, so his lectures are often like TED talks, but they can lead to tangents. His assignments and grading are fair as well. Overall, he is a wonderful professor.
Great class. I have recommend this professor. It is easy to make a great grade if you attend all lecture and read the online book. All tests are in class. 75% of grade was from 4 exams and 25% grade were from assignments.
The class is 75% tests and 25% on other assignments (there aren't many assignments). If you attend class or read his textbook the exam is straightforward. His class is not mandatory, but you should go regardless, also there was some extra credit. He cares for his students and makes his class easy to get through. I definitely recommend him!
The textbook is written by him, can access it online only. Its helpful to read it before tests. Attendance isn't mandatory but what he says in lectures will be on the tests. plus he gives extra credit if you attend all the lectures. Study before tests and you'll be fine, straight forward questions. He's funny too
He makes the information easy to know and sets you up for success. You really just need to do your part, show up/ listen. He does not offer many assignment and the ones you have to do are easy almost like surveys to whatever it pertains to. He is a great professor with a lot of Dad jokes. His test are easy as long as you listen in his lectures.
It you put in the time and effort, you'll be fine! I also advise you attend every class (although it's not mandatory) because his lectures are very helpful and informational! I could tell he genuinely cared for his students. If you can, I highly recommend taking his class! You'll learn alot!
His class is very challenging, but you will get through. Class is 75% exam based, so make sure to attend lectures and take notes over what he says and to study hard for all exams! He does offer extra credit here and there. Make sure to take advantage of it. Great marketing professor.
Great Professor who teaches you a real world skill you can make money with. It focuses on basic web development walking you through it. You leave with a certificate and the knowledge to make commercial level websites for clients. It takes a little practice but it's really worth it. I highly recommend this course. He's caring and willing to help!
Straightforward structure. 3 tests and a final alongside 6 or 7 assignments that are easy. Chowdhury is one of my favorites professors, and I've had him twice now. Interesting lectures, great sense of humor, and reasonable expections. Study the powerpoints and textbook chapters for exams and you'll be fine. Low textbook price as well. Take him!
This is my 2nd Class with Professor Chowdhury and I will be taking another course from him next fall. In terms of being a professor, he is MILES above every professor in the BLB. He loves teaching, he's funny, makes wholehearted attempts to connect with his students, and has relatively simple assignments/tests. TAKE HIM IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE!
Dr. Chowdhury might actually be the best professor I have taken at UNT. His lectures are entertaining with stories and very easy to follow along. This course was half online and half in person. His assignments were mainly getting certifications which are useful in the long run. Tests were easy if you went to class. I would highly recommend!
If I have to take MKTG classes, I would seek out his courses. Before the class starts, the professor would tell you that you must read the PDFs and additional materials he provides because the exam questions will come from there. As a result, I have consistently achieved good grades on each exam. I highly recommend students take his class.
He is a good professor with professional skills, giving you the necessary information. Go to lectures and listen and you will be good at the exams which are in class and 75%.
Get ready for dad jokes and interesting story-driven lectures! The only significant homework is the Google Analytics and Hubspot certifications, but they are relevant and useful even beyond the class. He writes the textbooks but gives a significant discount if you buy the book at the beginning of the semester.
Amazing professor, his teaching style is effective. He does not overcomplicate things and his textbook is $20 after his discount code. Textbook is easy to understand, short, simple, and to the point. One of the best professors at UNT.
His lectures are awesome and his teaching style are very fun. He always is ready to help the students. He always curves the exam. His exam always consist of deep lecture notes and textbook material. All in all a great professor.
On your side, easy and few assignments, funny/memes in presentations, responds to canvas email quickly, good communication/reminders, curve on exams, exams reflect material (easy if you review material)
He is very funny and gives great lectures. Very helpful outside of class if needed. Class is made up of 3 tests and 8 short assignments worth little points so the tests are very important. If you study the lecture PowerPoints and read his self-written textbook you will do fine. If you are looking for an easy class with little outside work take him!
If you enjoy marketing, don't anticipate a senior-level challenge in this class. Professor C's lectures mainly involve life stories and unrelated hobbies rather than textbook-relevant info. However, he is funny and sweet. It's an easy A if you attend class for in-class stories & facts & watch the posted videos. Never once read the textbook.
This instructor cares deeply about your understanding of the material and does well to create engagement and understanding amongst the class.
Professor Chowdhury's engaging and humorous lectures made class enjoyable and interesting. His tests are manageable if you review the materials he recommends. The assignments are straightforward, and he is a kind and approachable individual. Overall, I had a great experience learning from him and would take another one of his classes in the future.
He truly cares about his profession and about his students. Is this class difficult? Yes, because the subject is difficult. Does he make this information somewhat easy to understand? Also yes, he is engaging with the class and will ensure no one is left behind. He is very funny- he is never short on jokes for the day. I would take again if possible
I think the class itself was very easy. Attendance does matter, he takes it every class. I do recommend buying the textbook as well. He takes a lot of test questions directly from the book. The only homework you ever get is an assignment here and there, but the can easily be done with 15 minutes.
Amazing professor! Attendance is mandatory because if you do not show up, then you will not do well on exams. A lot of questions on exams are really specific and could be from graphs from his slides or simply from his stories that he shares with class. Pay attention to everything he says, even if you think it is not important! Easy homework. No EC.
One of the funniest, most interesting professors I've ever had at UNT. If you have the opportunity to take him, please do. you will not regret it!
Prof Chowdhury is hilarious and makes his lectures engaging. Make sure to study for exams, you won't do well without the $20 textbook. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he gives extra points to those who attend. I just barely passed with an A in this class with those extra points, that's how helpful it is!
he alright
Do not take this class unless you can commit & show up to every class as attendance is taken. There were only 3 assignments apart from the 4 exams so your grade heavily relies on your exam grades. The exams also cover info that is NOT always on the PPTs, but ONLY discussed IN CLASS so if you don't attend class you WON"T know the answers.
He is a great professor! If you attend class and study the textbook as well as the slides, it is an easy A. Attending class is crucial even if it is not mandatory. Taking him this next semester again!
Do not take this professor if you don't plan on coming to class. You have 3 exams which are graded heavy for your final grade in the class other then the exams you have 3 easy assignments not worth much. Doesn't offer extra credit and the exams are taking during class on lockdown browser using UNT computers can't use your own.
I have taken this professor for two separate classes now and I have enjoyed his classes so much! This course was super easy if you show up to class and pay attention. His exams are also very easy and he has great review sessions. His textbook is optional but helped me review for his exams if I missed a lecture or didn't take notes. very funny too!
Professor Chowdhury's exams are dependent on some of the things he mentions or uses examples of in his lectures. There is no extra credit, but he does give extra points for attendance. He cares a lot about improving as a teacher and wants his students to give him feedback. I think his class is worth taking, and you'll get a few dad jokes included.
As long as you attend the class and pay attention to the lectures, it's a really easy class.
This class is not that hard. You get extra points added to your grade if you attend class. Exams include questions from lecture so come to class. It does help that he is funny so lectures aren't boring. Super cool guy. you can tell he really cares about students. Definitely recommend!
Professor Chowdhury's class is engaging and straightforward. Attendance is crucial, as the exams cover material discussed in-class. unstuckstudy AI and the low-cost textbook were helpful study tools. Overall, a worthwhile course if you stay on top of it.
Be prepared! This is a web design/web coding class. If you're into that, you're gonna have a good time. Prof. Chowdhury is funny and tells lots of fun stories. He's also very thorough in explaining the material. Go to class, review the material and you should have no problem succeeding.
Really fun class! Easy to follow instructions and interesting class material. The professor makes the lectures entertaining.
I don't leave reviews on here often, but I believe it is necessary. This class was VERY exam-heavy. There were only a few actual homework assignments, which did not count much towards your overall grade. No extra credit. His exams consisted of some questions irrelevant to the subject of global marketing. My first "B" in three years of college.
The textbook is filled with outdated statistics. Purchasing the textbook only benefits him financially but does not help the students prepare for the exams. The textbook is not accessible if you need the read aloud accommodation. He is manipulative with his grading corrections instead of owning conflicting information given in lectures and textbook
Honestly I had Chowdhury for global marketing and that class was great, had no issues at all. But this class has been an entire waste of time. Half the class is outdated HTML assignments with an overly complicated final where you have to make a website for a real business client. This class is more inline for someone in web design not business.
Dr. Chowdury is an amazing professor. He is really dedicated to making sure we learn the material, so don't be afraid to ask questions. He doesn't require attendance, but instead makes perfect attendance extra credit. Even the textbook isn't required, but it is helpful. The material can be challenging, but he tries to make it easy to learn.
As a marketing major, I had not had any experience writing HTML or CSS, nor using Wordpress. In this course, Professor Chowdhury has provided an introduction to web development. I am appreciative of this as many of the jobs I have interviewed for have required basic knowledge on these concepts. Be willing to learn and the class will be easy!
This is my second time taking Prof Chowdhury's class, it was very enjoyable once again. Exams were very straight to the point and super easy to prepare for. Textbook isn't required but it did help me with studying. If you want an interesting professor, please take his class and you will do amazing!
Took for 5W1 over the summer, would recommend! Buy the textbook: it's $20 at the start of the semester and helped me get an A. The chapters are easy to read and fairly short. Only complaint is the exams don't let you backtrack, but that's pretty standard for online courses.
JC is very funny, so talented in marketing, and cares deeply that you learn and retain marketing. Before you take his class, you will think marketing is just ads. Afterwards, you will understand that most facets of life are directly related to what you learn. Class was not difficult to pass. GET THE OPTIONAL TEXTBOOK! Thanks JC!!!
Do not take this professor, his html is class is so outdated, bunch of random html assignments and the final is about making a real website with Wordpress, where he barely teaches. He does give a good curve on the exams but thats it.
