She is extremely good professor. Teaches very nicely and clear on her explanations. She is available in her office hours and more than happy to help you. Just one thing i didn't like about her is that she didn't put her notes online so that you can just go through a couple of slides instead of going through book before solving the problems.

Terrible prof, she can't speak properly and talks to herself most of the time. She is so story telling for no reason and is boring af. The iClicker's are the only things keeping a few people in her classes cuz they are being marked. Waste of time, if u can just change your prof. If u cant, spare the mark for iclicker and attend another lecture.

Get ready to relearn everything by yourself using organic chem tutor on youtube. Dr.Yuan is nice but she honestly doesn't teach content well - she often skips through important material and doesn't truly dissect the concept so students understand. Course is genuinely doable if you do lots of practice and watch lots of videos.

lectures were very very boring and her voice was super monotone and almost everything she did in class was just straight from the textbook. There was weekly homework (based on the textbook) that you had to purchase for like $150, and there was a 50% penalty of rlate submissions. If you've done physics in hs, most of the course is just review.

She isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Her lectures weren't engaging, making it difficult to focus. She is also very blunt about things (when her iClicker reciver went offline, she made no accommodation saying "well thats too bad"). However, with all said, she is still a great professor that wants you to understand the course material.

There is a reason no one attends her lectures after the first month. Firstly, I can bearly understand her. Her English isn't that good. I know that she tries, but what the hell. Secondly, the other bad thing is that she doesn't upload annotated slides, and that was a big problem for me, as I didn't have an iPad.

Her lectures are absolutely terrible. She speaks in a very low voice so you can't hear her half the time if you're seated at the back. Her explanation skills are atrocious, and it's very easy to get confused in her classes. She doesn't post her notes online so you have to attend her lectures to fill out the blanks.

The course content wasn't very difficult, but the delivery needs improvement. She does not upload the annotated post lecture slides; only the pre-lecture files are posted, and those are poorly organized. Explanations are often unclear and there aren't many worked examples, so I had to rely heavily on YouTube and other resources.”

I had never taken physics before and I enjoyed her class even though I still hate physics. Her slides are picture dense and the formatting is funny but I liked them because I'm more of a visual learner. I wish she posted annotated notes though. She is very straight forward and blunt but she has mom energy and is helpful with questions.

She uses skeleton notes bc ur expected to show up to lectures but another profs full notes are posted. Mastering physics homework maybe once every other week so not bad. But def study the textbook extra. Walked out of the midterm thinking I'd get a 90% and was sadly mistaken. Understand the concept and lock in. She's nice and explains well tho.

To be honest PCS120 is just a complete review of grade 12 physics, you shouldn't have any difficulty with it. The professor uses a lot of examples but they tend to fall short as not explained well. She also made the remark "dont take notes just reads the slides". However the course focuses heavily on group work which is less than desirable.

This course is not that hard. It's about grade-12 physics but this professor makes it so hard to understand. She does not explain concepts most of the time and For most of physics teachers used to explain concept then problems. If you can take this course with other then go for or else good luck.

Her slides are useless and irrelevant to the tutorial, midterm and final exam material. She tells people to email her for questions, but when you do, she gets mad and says to look for answers in the course shell.... She cannot teach if her life depended on it, so beware. The course isn't too complicated, but somehow she makes it 10x worse.

She uses skeleton notes, so you can't really attend class and expect to fully understand new concepts. She is really engaging during class and kind. The tutorials, labs, and mastering homework are easy and helpful. She isn't as good compared to other professors that teach this course first semester (Eric De, Omar).

Dr. Jian is very kind and genuinely cares about her students. She tries to teach well, but her skeleton-note style doesn't work for everyone. The midterm is tough, the final is fairly chill and likely curved. Slides are concise, but you must attend lectures since only skeleton notes are posted.
