human bio-very knowledgable professor-class is hard, read the book, study the objectives listed b4 each lecture & ask ?'s & it will be easy for you. used clickers(new tech used in nurs classes)same testing format as more challeneging classes to prepare u.plenty of xtra credit if u are willing to work hard. i got an A but i spent ALOT of time studying
shes a sweetheart, i learned alot:)
Jenny was a great teacher. She loves the subject.Notes are clear AND she posts all her powerpoint on Blackboard.Test are DIRECTLY off lectures.VERY organized helpful and personbible.I'm hoping she decides to teach A&P in the fall!!!
Great class. She is very intent that you learn everything for the tests and constantly reminds you that she's available for extra help. The tests are straight from the lectures instead of the book so pay attention!
She is excellent!! If you have the chance to take her DO IT! You will definitely have to study hard but she is very helpful, all you have to do is ask.
She is a great teacher but one word of caution. Study EVERYTHING! The textbook, her PPTs and additional notes that she gives you. She takes information for all sources even if she says shes not going to test you on it expect that she will. That was my only frustration so study study study.
She was helpful, but gave alot of exams.. need to give quizzes for chapters.. i will recommend her.. but she needs to stop give soo much work. don't take her for the summer alot of work..stay on ur toess at all times
I would recommend taking her. She does everything she can to try and help. Lots of extra credit available which helps. She really enjoys the subject and wants everyone to do well. She was a great teacher.
Jenny is a great professor! Very kind and understanding. She really goes the extra mile to make sure everyone is on the same page and they get what she's teaching. She gives a lot of extra credit for those who really stuggle with the subject. As long as you study and put in the effort you will do very well. Highly recommended!
She's an awesome Prof. Really works to help make the work understandable. Does a lot of extra credit work. The more you show up the easier the class. I learned alot taking her class. She also uses i-Clicker, to record questions. Like I said she's an awesome teacher and explains alot. You shouldn't fail this class as long as you put in some effort.
Jenny is a horrible teacher in my opinion. She was very vague with how she used the power points and wasn't any help when asked about class progress. You could be failing the class and she would say "oh dont worry your doing fine just use your head". I really disliked her class and would highly recommend against taking her.
She didn't like to give extra help or individual attention. She is very vague during lectures and doesn't give you the material you need to know for a test. The class was basically self-learning, so she was useless. If you are the kind of person that likes to ask questions and needs a little help now and then, DO NOT take her class.
She wasn't clear about anything she said in lecture she would read the powerpoints almost word for word and if you asked a question she would get upset and ask how we dont get the material. This glass was more of an online class with the exceptions of the lectures and having to be at the school to do the computer homework. I was very disappointed.
shes awesome
Jenny is an awesome professor. If you're willing to put in the work and time, you'll do fine. She gives lots of great examples and extra credit. Not sure where all the negative comments are coming from...just pay attention, follow directions, read the text, like in any other class!
This class was horrible!!! It is very hard to understand her at times, she does not use the lab book at all it was a complete waste of money! the test cover a lot of material and are hard she reads off power points is not good at explaining or giving examples very boring class i would never recommend or take another one of her classes again ever!!
Easy class. Uses powerpoints which I enjoyed because you can look at them whenever you need to. Always gives extra credit. She can be hard to understand at times but you can just look at the powerpoint. Also tests come straight from the powerpoint as well. Overall I recommend taking her class
You basically get what you put into this class. If you studied then your grade reflected it. Jenny was very knowledgeable, when it came to the subject matter. She is very encouraging and positive with regards to you grade. Again you are the master of your grade in this class. It was hard work but I enjoyed this class.
Great Teacher! Yes she teaches a lot of material, but if you keep up with studying, her class isn't that bad. She even gives study guides for lecture and lab! I found the group project to be pointless though.
do not take this teacher she uneasy to understand and extremely rude to her students. She doesnt clarify and expects you to know material without her teaching it to you. Also she often seems aggrivated when students ask questions or make mistakes
This class is difficult, but if you read the text book follow the study guides, and review the power points you will be OK. She does provide extra credit, do it you will need it.
She's a great teacher and her class helps prepare you for harder bio courses, I would recommend taking her.
Dr. Z is very knowledgeable. You can tell this subject is her passion, which is important to find in teachers because they give you their own opinion on the information rather than just reading out of the book. She gave study guides before each test that help. If your interested in the subject, and willing to put the time in to study, youll pass.
She's a great professor and clearly loves the subject. Her class was a lot of work and you will need to spend a lot of time studying if you want a good grade.
I love Jenny as a person. However, as a professor she is very difficult to understand. If you want to pass her class you might as well memorize the whole book. She gives exams (no quizzes) for about every three chapters and six labs. Everyone's learning style is different so to say to never or absolutely take her class is wrong.
This class is great. All the information you need is in power points. All the work is preprinted in booklets. All you have to do is pay attention and read a bit and you'll pass.
Prof is very difficult to understand, you can easily get confused by her and she can come off rude as well when people ask for help. I learned how to take good notes on what I understood and then studied ALOT before every test until I knew I understood ALL the material. Did fairly well in the end. Ok class if you know how to take notes and study.
She is a nice lady but her class is hard. A lot of material and a lot of tests. 4 lecture tests 2 lab tests and final. There is a group project which I think is pointless but do it she gives a lot of points for it. If you are taking other classes don't take her you will not have time to study her class took over my whole semester.

jenny is tough but she is a good teacher. You have to study hard and take notes and read the powerpoint she does give extra credit which is great. But if you looking for an easy A she is not the one you better take another teacher. Although, i loved her class she is very knowledgeable i do recommend her.
Jenny was a good teacher. I had her this year for my first semester at NVCC. I understood most topics, but the tests were kinda hard if you didn't study, like I didn't study. But when I did, I would get an even better grade. She gives extra credit though, so it makes it easier.
She was a great help during the semester. She is funny which helps to go through those long lectures sometimes. She is there to help and willing to do so. Ask questions or visit her office, send emails, do not hesitate. One of my classmates last semester recommended to take her BIO115 course. I have no regrets. She was awesome!!!
I just thought the material was hard itself because by the end of the semester everything is being thrown and not much explaination
Dr. Z was a great professor. I wouldn't recommend missing any class time. I was late 1/2 hr one day to lecture and it took me most of the day to catch up. Her power points give all the information needed, so we rarely needed the book & her study guides had all the info needed for tests. Always available for questions and even formed study groups.
Dr. Zheng is such an amazing professor. The syllabus has very clear grading criteria, so you know exactly what it is expected in order to pass the class. She gives study guides & reviews before tests. She makes sure everyone understands the material, &encourages anyone who needs extra help to come see her. Her accent is is not an issue by any means
Well liked professor. Highly recommended. Enjoyed this course mostly due to the positive encouragement received. Highly motivating.
Jenny is a fun teacher with interesting and engaging lectures. She really cares about her students and gives extra opportunities to help them pass.
Best Bio teacher. She really cares about her students and wants you to do amazing. Class is fun and interesting. You need to be in class and she makes you want to be there. I wish she taught A&P because I would take her again.
She truly cares about her students , she even offers extra credit , she motivates her students a lot into not giving up , Highly Recommend her if you put in work hard , and looking into the health/helping field . Loved her class even considering into minoring in biology
Best bio professor , she offers extra credit to boost your grade
Not a good teacher at all would not recommend
Loved her class , took her for human biology, love the fact she wants every one to pass , offers a lot of opportunities to get a decent grade , I think those who did poorly did not study hard for her exams , i would definitely take her again
Loved her class , definitely recommend her class for nursing students , she really cares about passing her students , probably the only bio professor that offers extra credit
Jenny is the best !!! Her lectures are straight forward and simple to understand. Gives tons of extra credit. Has an awesome sense of humor . You definitely need to show up for class or you will quickly fall behind. I would definitely recommend her to someone just trying out a college course for the first time , as she is warm and kind.
She is the absolute worst professor , she can't seen to break anything down to you. If you don't understand and ask her she will say I don't know how you don't get it, and say refer to the blackboard. If this is your first time taking bio run. She also talks to you as a child. Best bet is not taking her ! I worked my butt off and ended up with a c
Jenny class is amazing and gives a lot of opportunities to get a decent grade . I think those who failed her test odviously didnt study hard or put in effort for her class . I ended up with a B+ in her class , I would definitely take her again .
I started bad but ended up with a B+ , she helped me a lot , You wont regret taking her class , her test are not bad but if you study you should be able to get a good grade , she gives a lot of extra credit for this course and she is caring , has humor . Highly recommend her she amazing , those who failed her class didnt study hard enough .
Professor Z was an amazing professor. Very funny, understanding, and kind. Don't be late, she hates it. Many opportunities for extra credit, drops your lowest test grade, and your overall grade is made almost entirely of tests with other assignments meant to boost your average. Must read the book, must go to class, definitely a challenge.
Dr. Z is a great professor. She provides a lot of extra credit. Lecture test come from ppt slides and test yourself questions from book. (Multi-choice ) Lab test basically cover the labs you do in class. Read the chapters and know the slides and youll do fine. Nothing tricky.
She prepares you very well for tests and if you put in the work, you'll get an A. She is very funny and cares a lot about the subject. I found myself laughing in every class about the way she would answer questions asked by other students. When someone tries to argue that a cloud is, in fact, a living creature, Jenny will have the best response.
shes a real doll, but her class has alot of information. i felt as if she doesnt consider the various learning styles. her labs are pretty simple, and her lectures are okay. get ready to read a lot and study for test and quizzes and exams!
10/10 would recommend. Jenny is a great professor and she's funny too. If you put in effort and actually come to class you will get an A. She gives a study guide for all exams and the questions come straight from the power points and the test yourself questions.
Jenny is a great professor! She really cares about her students and tries to make the class entertaining, she is also pretty funny! She is one of the only professors that I have had that gives extra credit! She really wants to help the students and if you dont understand something she will go over it until you do.
I took her online "Principles of the Human Body" class. There was a quiz, discussion question & 2 replies, and paper on the human system due every week. It was pretty simple and easy to finish every week. The paper wasn't too bad, 1-2 pgs. I would definitely recommend if the class fulfills a science requirement.
She is a very tough teacher you defiantly need to do a lot of studying if you want to pass her exams! She will give extra credit with every exam though. She really does want anyone going into nursing to push themselves to do their best and is always willing to help and change test format if need.
She was a great prof! She was funny and She wanted you to succeed. If you didnt understand something she would try and put it a different way!
Her tests are difficult but gives you good study guides to go off of. She has extra credit for each exam but the questions can throw you off a bit. Study hard to be really prepared and focus on the notes you take.
Be ready to work for it! Jenny is a nice person but tough professor. She expects you to learn a lot within a few months. If you miss 1 class, it can be down hill from there. There is 6 tests and they're 50 points multiple choice with an hour to complete! If Bio isn't your thing pick another professor who isn't as test heavy. Wouldn't take her again
She was seriously an amazing teacher. She made the lectures easy to understand and made them interesting. Would 100% recommend taking her for human bio!
If you want to learn you need this profesor. She explain everything very detailing and make sure you understand the term.
Jenny is an amazing professor, she was my first experience with a college-level class, & has exceeded all my expectations. She cares so much and is passionate about biology. she makes it fun and interesting while making sure you know the material. Her approach is very respectful, she treats students as adults and makes you want to come to class.
I loved my class with Jenny. Her tests (6. lowest one gets dropped & extra credit on each one) were straight from the ppt , book , and study guide. She explains everything very clearly and makes the labs fun and entertaining. You must come to class bc missing one lecture will send you downhill. If you put in the work, youll be fine. hmwk was easy.
She is by far the best science teacher Ive ever had. She gives great lectures. Notes/powerpoints are thorough. When it comes to tests and getting good grades, its important to pay attention and write side notes during lecture. Power points help so much making study guides. I would highly recommend Jenny. She cares a lot about her students
She is so sweet and genuinely cares about how her students feel about the workload and content. She makes lectures and labs fun and does a lot to ensure everybody does well.
100% recommended. Great teachers , cares about the students.
I took this class as on campus but was switched to hybrid because of covid. Every Monday was an online lecture and then every other Wednesday was my lab. She was very helpful when it came to quizzes and exams and would go over the study guide before hand. Timely response to emails. My grade was a C+ because of my own actions.
Dr. Z is an amazing Professor! I took Human Bio during the Summer and it was intense study/work, but totally worth it because she made me really learn Biology. The class was comprised in 5 weeks although nothing was left behind, she did a great job preparing us. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Totally recommend!
Professor Zheng was great! She was entertaining while being informative. I took her class over the summer and although it was fast paced, she really prepared everyone for the tests. She really wants you to understand the material rather than memorize which made the class easier. Wish I could have her for A&P!
Isn't the worst, but isn't the best either. You need to buy the $40 lab manual for the course or else you will be in big trouble. Weekly quizzes. She didn't really lecture all she did was go over the lab and then go in the back and grade quizzes while you did the lab and was hard to ask questions. She expects you to study heavily out of class.
Dr. Z was excellent. Had her for human bio in the summer and her online study guides are very helpful. All science classes are hard and require effort to get the grade.
every week you get one lecture packet, review questions & lab quiz for homework. 1 easy group project. Not the best to communicate with but do your homework & study all that you can, & you should pass. all tests are multiple choice with 25 questions. MUST SHOW UP TO CLASS or you'll literally feel lost and start failing. not the best, not the worst
Really nice professor. Homework is simple and only completion grade, notes aren't mandatory.Weekly lab exams on blackboard, do not forget!!! (they add up fast). She's understanding if you're struggling or behind due to outside factors. Exam aren't difficult if you do the study guide fully!
Dr. Z is not easily accessible outside of class. It's better to ask her questions in person. She will make you feel stupid for asking questions as though you are expected to know everything and will embarrass students in class. Furthermore, she provides study guides that do not correlate with her exams whatsoever.
RUN! If you think Bio is hard well then don't even think about taking this professor her test don't even match her study guides and you will ruin your GPA! Do yourself the favor and take another professor.
Professor Z is amazing! I would totally recommend her. No surprises1! Quizzes, tests and exams are all scheduled. She gives instructions and study guides to prepper for each one.
Professor Zheng is a good professor, and it will be easy to get a passing grade if you complete all the assignments. Only complaint is the study guides do not match up with the tests, and the test questions are worded very differently which is hard, Other than that she is a funny, kind, good professor who always tries to help her students in class
Good professor, and lectures. I really enjoyed my class! If you don't show up for class it is easy to get behind and not do well. Get involved and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it!
I took the five-week Principles of the Human Body Lab course and it was the most straightforward BIO class ever! Every week, there are two lab assignments along with two quizzes. The labs are so easy and interesting if you watch the videos. I strongly recommend taking BIO classes with this professor.
Prof. Zheng is one of the wisest people I have ever known. Through her, I realized learning is for everyone as long as you're willing to try and keep going. Just pay attention to lectures, ask questions (she's always willing to go back and answer them), be respectful, participate, join a study group, don't worry about making mistakes, and have fun.
Would recommend. I really enjoyed this professor. I think I learned the most I ever have from her class. She went over things very clearly. Exams were pretty easy as long as you did your work and payed attention in class. She is very sweet and easy to ask any questions to. She also prepared me very well for anatomy and physiology 1 very well.
She is a good professor overall. She is extremely knowledgeable and intelligent. Study and you will do just fine. The structure of the class was a bit all over the place at times, which made it confusing. For example, sometimes we would have lab before lecture, meaning we were expected to complete a lab based on content we had not yet learned.
She is a wonderful professor and you can really tell she loves what she does by how she teaches. She gets excited about the material and makes it engaging. I took a hybrid class and went in once a week for lab and exams. Her exams were tough but fair, she offered comprehensive study guide material. I would recommend
Dr. Z is a wondrful professor. She offers extra credits+bonus points if you show her your study guide after the exam. Each exam has 25 straightforward questions, and the final has 50. I took the hybrid class, where we met once a week for lab and exams(on campus) There r discussion board assignments after each online lectre and quizzes after each lab
I really loved taking BIO 1111 with Dr. Zheng. I took the hybrid class with lectures on Tuesday's and labs on Thursday's. Dr. Zheng showed the class the syllabus every Tuesday so that everyone will know what will be done that week. I especially liked that she gives extra credit, which can be very helpful.
Bio 1111. This was an easy class. Keep up with your work and you will do good. Make sure to take notes during lectures and complete all your homework which is discussions and online quizzes. She will answer any questions you have during lab. You get extra credit just for completing the study guides and she drops a couple of your lowest assignments.
lacks empathy, makes you feel stupid when you ask questions. thank god i passed and never have to take her classes again.
Great accelerated summer Bio1111 class. Lots of info in 5 weeks, but prof's study guides are very helpful. Tests were straightforward, 25 multiple-choice questions, 50 for the final. There are chances for extra credit. Difficulty drops from 4 to 3 with study guides. A fair class, if you put in the work, you will get a good grade. Would take again

Test were 25 multiple choice pretty straight forward. She gives a study guide and offers 5 extra points on the test for handwriting the study guide. Her class is very organized and her lectures/labs are understandable and engaging. Overall, she was the best science teacher I have had so far in college.
Took this class fully online, she posts all the assignments very clearly and states expectations well. There are textbooks but they were completely free. Def recommend taking this class with her
this was an asynchronous course; the material was really interesting and engaging. the professor lays out grading criteria super clearly, so you know exactly what's expected of you, all the textbooks are free, so you don't need to worry about extra costs, workload isn't too much, as long as you manage your time, you'll be able to pass the course.
I absolutely enjoyed her class and she was a very nice teacher who liked teaching biology and made sure her students understood the topics we learned. The study guides she gives are amazing and make sure to do them she gives 5+ bonus points for each and the guides help you for the exams a lot. Never did good in biology but in her class i did well!
She's a really good teacher and follows the syllabus well. She wants you to pass and allows for extra credit on every test including the final, work wasn't anything crazy it was manageable, about 2 homework assignments a week. She's pretty funny, probably wouldn't form an emotional connection with her but easy pass
