Professor Solomon was a motivating teacher who inspired me to look at myself and my decisions/values. Depending on the subject some teachers can have more freedom to be easy going. But even though he had that nature to him he was still very knowledgeable and informative. He showed how you can apply things learned in class to life.

Dr. Solomon has a way of engaging you from the start, he's very entretaining. But be sure to take notes, his exams are based on notes. He may get all wrapped up in his lesson and get off topic, but if you let him know he's happy to clarify or re-explain. I recommend his class!

All of your tests are based off of his notes so it is very important to take them during class. I find that I don't need to study to hard as he makes clear explanations that you can remember.

Professor Solomon has very strong teaching skills. He is big on note taking but not without keeping you interested. As students take notes he pauses and clearifies the topic by asking questions and giving examples on terms so to better understand using real life examples. He is patient and respectful. I have taken the same SOC101 (Sociology Course) as the rater below and I completely disagree. Professor Solomon was absolutely excellent. He challenges students to think, know how to apply theories and learn period. He does not use PowerPoints but real engaging lectures. He does not give damn down tests, but push you to think. Professor Solomon is an absolute gem of a teacher. He'll go out of his way to help you when you need it, and he's a snappy dresser to boot! Buying the book is optional (he gives great notes in class), but I found that it deepened my understanding of the material, and I did very well on the tests as a result. Prof. S was great! We didn't need the textbook he just gave us the notes. He makes the class fun since one of the days was 3 hrs. He's understanding if you email him if somethings wrong that you can't attend class. There were 3 tests and the final exam. He dropped the lowest test grade out of the 3. There were no quizzes. I took Prof. Solomon summer of 2017, and he is the reason why I continued my nursing major. I wish all my science professors were as efficient as him.
