one of my hardest classes in 4 years. all she does is write write write. she doesn't explain herself, and when questions are asked in class she cannot adequately explain her answer. use the book insead of lectures. this class is hard in general, using lots of calc in addition to stats. avoid her if you can.

She is an excellent professor. Her lectures are much easier to understand than the book. The homework assignments are pretty easy, and if you get stuck she is really helpful in office hours. Also, her tests are straight forward if you can do the homework and the practice. I would highly recommend her for this class.

Her lectures were actually pretty helpful although sometimes she couldn't answer questions entirely. She's very thorough with the material but didn't cover everything that needed to be covered. You get to use cheat sheets, but sometimes didn't help much with the questions she asked. Very approachable, though.

To do well, review old homeworks, study practice tests, copy all the formulas from lecture notes to your cheating sheet, and compare your homework answers with someone else in the class. Lectures weren't the greatest because she just read the slides, but still good to know what's going on. She was helpful at office hours. Speaks English just fine.

She can be really hard to understand. The class was REALLY easy in the beginning, and then got crazy hard, same with the tests. I got an A+ on the first test, B- on the second, and a D+ on the final. Even with a low 80% I still got an A- in the class, thanks to the curve. You get to use cheat sheets on all the tests--and you need them.

Professor Peng is overall a good professor, not great, but not bad either. Her accent is not bad imo, I think its definitely improved. The class is lecture heavy and you definitely need to take good notes and not fall behind. Quizzes are 60 minutes which never felt like enough time, so be really comfortable with the material or you will not finish.

Im surprised by all her ratings I genuinely think she is a good professor. Her lectures are very concise and clear. Her accent is not as bad as others make it seem however there are a couple words I cant understand from her. The HWs are not graded harshly and the quizzes are open note. She is super kind and helpful in OH. Highly recommend

Prof.Peng is an excellent professor. She is well prepared for the lectures and delivers every point clearly. There are some proofs of regression but it is easy and understandable after her interpretation. Homework and projects will take some time if you want to do them well. I like attending her lectures and indeed learned a lot from this course!

Professor Peng is passionate and did a really great job in teaching! The contents of this course is not easy. However, she was really good at explaining complicated things clearly. If you paid attention to make the course notes and did the homework on your own, it prepared you for the projects and exams. You can learn so many things in this course.

She's really not as bad as these reviews say she is. Her accent is not that hard to understand and she explains concepts very concisely and clear. The midterms are open note but the final is not. Class has one weekly homework assignment that is graded pretty leniently. The only con is that she doesn't record lectures.

Can't understand her due to her accent. The first half of the class was fine. The second half of the class the more I went to her lecture the more lost I felt. There really should have been a step by step guide to these calculation, it got so confusing and convoluted you forget what numbers mean and what test is for what. Her notes were awful.

The lectures are not that bad to follow, and she gives slides that are really clear and helpful when you are reviewing. She also gives recap in the beginning of every lecture. Midterms are very identical to practice, and are open notes. Final is not open note but very similar to practice. Very nice and accessible during office hours.

Two group projects that require: lots of research on difficult subjects, be prepared to read extensive research papers and then present about it with hard questions to follow. Does not respond to emails in a timely matter. Lectures are needed to pass the tests but his tone and lecture style will leave you fighting sleep.

I took 206, the class was pretty hard. But thats partly because of the course itself, it may depends on school. The professor is actually super caring. You can get this part if you are major in statistics (especially master). because not all the professor are this nice. She even debug for student. but if u have choice, dont take 206.

This course really content lots of useful things about basic statistics concepts and techniques. The content is really useful for both job pursuing and academic aspect. This course may be a little bit time-consuming for those who don't have experience in statistics.

Prof Peng has passions on teaching and her lectures are so well-organized. You can learn a lot from this course if you attend her lectures. The exams weren't that hard and I think she designs/grades exams and project based on students' level - the average should be around B+/A-

I like her as a person, but not a professor. She's very nice and helpful 1:1, but in lecture, she just flies through material. I wish the entire course focused either all on R or all on the derivations. Mixing both was a bit overwhelming to me. She will work with you and meet with you if you need it, but I can't give her more than 3, sadly.
