She is an excellant teacher. She makes biology really interesting and she helps out anyone willing to learn an A is possible in her class.

Explains everything very clearly!! Gives handsout and those help ALOT of tests, her test are multiple choice with a 20pt short answer section. If you go to lecture and pay attention, you should get an A.

she's very nice and has a great sense of humor. She's very good at explaining things and knows what she's talking about. If you listen in class,take good notes and study the notes that she gives then you'll ace the class without opening your book. =)

She is a very organized teacher, she gives you alot of study guide/materials which are very helpful but sadly the notes never correspond to the exam so u have to KNOW the material very, very well to pass the tests.The course material is quite rigorous....a lot more chem than bio. all in all, a good class but requires lot of time outside of class.

She's one of the best, very organized, everything's clear, a lot of information, easy lab, but you have to be very understanding to get an A on the test. The information on the multiple choice is easy, just read the handouts on ecampus, the essay section is easy if you're listening in class, and study what she said you need to, EASY EASY EASY!!!!

Mrs. Buettner is an awesome teacher. She explains biology well, and is extremely helpful. I really enjoyed her class. Take notes, study her outlines, use all the materials she gives you, and you've got it.

Genetics is difficult to begin with, but Ms. Buettner is definitely very helpful. Her tests are worded differently from how she teaches so be more literal when you are studying. Really tough class, stick with it though. You will learn a lot.

I took her for BIOL 1406 and 1407. She is a really good teacher especially if you are a visual learner. I got an 'A' in both classes. Its easy if you just go to class and take notes.

Ms. Buettner is a great teacher! She is so helpful and nice. She gives students a review for each test. If you go to class, listen to her lectures, read the book, and actually do the review and study for each test; then there should be no reason to not be able to pass.

Extremely organized, which is a must for the online/campus lab hybrid that she teaches. Her Powerpoint lectures are excellent. She returns email quickly and is helpful and nice. It was a challenging course, and I learned a lot.

I knew nothing so i was cmptl clules Aft first two chpt piece of cake. Uses PP slides identicle to what is in the book. My gift to you is- Everything yo need to know is in PP & lecture and do prelabs. Use book for refernce or if u get lost. , she explains evrything vry wel and answers question thoroughly. I will agree this is a hard class and you do have to work hard but, it's nothing impossible and I mean common it's Biology what do you expect? She's a great teacher. Gives Exta Credit Points. Explains stuff very throughly. Take her if you want to learn but, if you're looking to just get by like in your elective classes, take someone else!

There is alot of detail in biology. If you study and dedicate yourself to the class she is a great teacher. She will help you understand, and prepare you for the future classes. It is not a blow off class.

Looking back now she is a very great teacher. You have to study for her tests though and for the lab quizzes. She is definately for the people who want to major in a science. She will prepare you well for Biology 2 and A&P classes. STUDY THOUGH (PP and lecture notes help and do the homework!!!!)

What a great instructor.Professor Buettner is helpful and great at explaining concepts in a way we can relate to.She has good sense of humor which helps and is always impeccably dressed.This may seem irrelevant but it shows social and professional skills.She grades fast and you can actually learn during her labs.She's also not arrogant.FANTASTIC

I took this class during the summer, as well as bio 1407, and well she is difficult. She is really nice, helpful, and funny, but her tests are hard! Just pay attention, study study study, do the mastering bio, and attend all the labs because there is always a quiz and you'll do great!

We just finished the summer class and everything was wonderful. I will be taking a genetics class that the professor teaches. The best part about 1407 was the lab for me and the lectures were interactive and learned the most from them. Professor Jill is generous with extra credits but you have to earn it during class or writing papers.

Took both 1406/1407 with Prof B. She is a caring straightforward person. Work is honestly easy if you study. You will have to work for an A but it's college so suck it up. You will get your moneys worth if you do what you need to do. Do online practice/homework questions and take notes and tests will be SUPER EASY!!! Good teacher recommend

Awesome teacher, very easy to follow, very knowledgeable. Also available to help. Very clear in material to be tested over. Be sure to use online bio homework to really understand the material & test questions pulled from it. Classes are very enjoyable & interesting. Grades fair but tough on test, you must know your material. Highly recommend her.

Dr. B has a great rapport that she builds with her students, and makes sure to clarify for any students that may have cultural barriers. Her humor brings a smile to the class, and her professionalism carries through from day 1 to the final day. I highly recommend her!

2 exams and final are 60%. Labs and quizzes are easy to make A's. Study the power points, read the chapters TWICE, to make an A on exams. Genetics is a LOT of DETAILED material. Great teaching style-anticipates the wrong way you are interpreting her points, and corrects them as if she is reading your mind! Cute little sense of humor. I liked her.

I heard that she was an excellent professor before I took the class. The praise was understated. Buettner's class was the MOST interesting lecture class that I have ever attended. Read your book, study the power points but above all, listen to what she has to say. She really knows her stuff!

Awesome professor! Easy class as long as you study & do your work. There's a lab quiz each lab; she'll even tell you what will be on the quiz so you know what to study for. Exams are neutral. 80% multiple choice & 20% writing. She gives out random lecture quizzesassignments but thats only to help you and it really does help! Highly recommend!!

Professor Buettner is very helpful and very funny. Her lectures are long but very useful; if you take notes during her lectures and review her powerpoints before the test, there's no way you can make less than an 80 on her tests. Her labs are fun and she's really chill. Would definitely recommend her.

Professor Buettner is a very cool professor! Even though this class was an honor class, she made it easy in terms of course work. She is very knowledgeable and teaches Biology very well. You will never get bored if you take her!!! Her lectures were very interesting and never dry. The tests were based on the slides and vocabs from the textbook.

Professor B is an excellent professor. She really knows her stuff. I took the online class with the lab on campus. READ,READ,READ the textbook and do the assigned questions for each chapter! They're not for a grade, but they will help in preparing for the exams. There are 2 exams and one final. We had a lab quiz every meeting. No lab practicals.

Her lectures are interesting and very clear and tells what to expect on the exam. Listen and study from her lectures and power point and you will do well on the exams. There is a Lab quiz for each lab, which is easy and no lab practical. Very knowledgeable professor and she explains well in class. She thoroughly goes over the tough topics.

Prof B is excellent in explaining tough topics and breaks it down for you, so that its easy to learn. Her lectures are interesting and she is very clear on what will come for the exam. Study the lectures, powerpoints and handouts and you will do fine in this class, There is lab quiz for each lab, which is easy, and NO lab practical.

She's absolutely AMAZING. I went from have low C's in high school to an A in her class. She breaks things down so well so you can easily understand and she keeps lectures interesting. I'm going to try to take more of her classes in the future!

If you study everyday, you should be able to pass her tests easily. She gives out homework(traditional paper and pen assignments) I'm taking her class during the summer and the labs are not hard. She expects you to memorize vocabulary. I highly recommend her for anyone who wants to get BIO over with fast. Take her!

Before professor buettner's class I did not like biology. This professor made biology very practical, interesting, and funny. She was very understanding to student needs to. She reiterates the concepts that are going to be on the test. Show up, pay attention, and take notes - you'll make an A.

2 test and the final, quiz every lab. test are multiple choice and short essay. final is more short essay. tough grader, extra credit is useless, only 1 point extra. no curve on test and no opportunity to make up grade. you start out 100 on her grading and will drop from there,bad grade on 1 test mean you done. not recommend .regret to take her

She is most def the best professor I've had so far. She really takes a genuine I nterest in her students, and encourages opportunities. She is very knowledgable and makes the material crystal clear in her lectures. Labs weren't lead by her, she let us actually "experiment". Take her, she's awesome.

I took Professor Buettner for 1406 and 1407 and she was great! She updates all of her lecture powerpoints on ecampus. Her tests are lecture heavy. The only part of the textbook that is used is the access code which allows you to do the online homework (one assignment due a week). There are four tests and one final.

Professor Buettner is an excellent Biology professor. She is clear about which information is needed for exams while also providing enough additional information to keep the class interesting and engaging. Highly intelligent with lots of information on the topic, she'll steer you well.

Passionate and very genuine professor! I think her expertise allows her to teach each student in a way so that they'll understand. She didn't require us to buy or even really read the textbooks but you MUST be present for EVERY class since the summer classes move so quickly. The best way to pass her class is by attending, participating and studying!

She breaks down the tough materials to a piece of cake. Not study much for the exam, just make sure you understand the problems well. If not, read the textbook. Lab quizzes are easy and she pointed out everything you need to know. A lot of extra credit at the end of semester. Easy to reach out outside class if needed. No pressure. Let's get it!

This prof is AWESOME she really explains the matierial well, she knows her stuff very well. I took her for summer 1 and it was honestly a breeze. The textbook is free, you just have to print it. I also printed the PPS. TAKE HER

She is AMAZING and her exams were straight forward. She teaches you everything you need to know. As long as you demonstrate effort, study here and there, study the powerpoints and really understand those concepts, you will do well! I did not use the book. She inspired me to keep taking science classes.

It's been a while since I've had a professor who's so passionate about her subject and genuinely interested in her students' work. The assignments in this class were creative and some were actually FUN. Questions were deep and open-ended. Super communicable and friendly professor. Can't think of a single complaint no matter how hard I try.

She is an amazing professor who wants to teach what's necessary and not the entire textbook. Learn her slides and you will make good grades. Pay attention and you will get the clue to the test papers. She is for the students and not against them. I would definitely recommend.

Buettner is the best teacher eveeeeeer. You wanna take her for your Biology class. She is the first teacher that makes me like Biology. She makes it so simple an interesting. She does not expect students to do or know the impossible. Her tests and exams always cover what she thought. If you follow up her lectures you can't have less than A.

Biology is not easy for me but did manage to pass this class. You will have lots of work but as long as you do it you will be fine. She also provides extra credit so take advantage.

She was always available to help, and she also has youtube lectures. She is often willing to accommodate. Her lab grading was pretty standard, and tests are mostly multiple choice. You are also allowed to have a one-page study guide with you during final/midterm.

You won't find many professors like her. She teaches so well a 5 year old could learn the material. She's super sweet and very knowledgeable. She WANTS you to learn and tells you what's going to be on the exam. 3 total exams with 40 questions MC plus 8-9 free response but you only need to do 4 of them except for the final. Would def take again!

This prof is one of the best professor's I've ever had tbh. She was nice and caring, would stop class to answer questions and make lil funny jokes here and there to get you back into the lecture. During labs she would go around and help you if you didn't understand the manual she gave and made lab fun and interesting. All in all take her, trust me.

The sweetest professor I've ever taken. Provided a syllabus that outlined the assignments due dates. Answered any questions happily and had no problem clarifying. Very fun entertaining class, I would def take her again, loved her. Just put in the work and you are bound to pass.

Attendance is not mandatory but SHOW UP TO LAB otherwise you will be clueless on lab quizzes. She gives out vocab quizzes for each chapter and 4 exams along with lab quizzes. Her class wasn't that difficult but make sure to attend lab and study before exams which you're allowed to have a cheat card. Her lectures were too long for my attention span.

Take her if you can!! It is an easy A even if you haven't taken a bio class before. You will actually learn a lot in her class without being stressed out. Her lectures were rarely tedious and she knows her stuff. She really wants her students to do well so if you put in effort you will do good. Easy weekly lab and vocab quizzes but no homework.

I love Professor Buettner and her Genetics class. She made Genetics easy to understand. She is so realistic when it comes to school and the real world.
