She likes to relate experiences of the class to what we're learning. This is good, but there is a LOT of talking which makes getting through the work a bit slow.

A very nice teacher, makes class enjoyable, but teaches right from the text book. If something isn't clear to you in your reading it's not likely class will help much. But then, if you need the help she wouldn't mind at all being approached after class.

Dr. Jackson is the greatest teacher ever. Very down to earth and uses real life experiences or things in movies that we can relate to in the lectures to help us understand. Great professor. I definately would love it if she was my teacher for all my psych courses.

Dr. Jackson is one of the best lecturers here and so very personable. I just don't understand why the department doesn't hire her on full time. This school has a hard time keeping profs, but she would be an incredible asset.

All i have to say is that if your looking for a prof who wastes her time lecturing..you've found her! The exams dont even come from her, they're from the makers of the txt book, with a couple added questions on her part, BEWARE, she seems easier then she actually is...memorize the text book!!!!

If you didnt understand something all you had to do was ask. She was very down to earth and always welling to help. She has been my favorite prof at the U so far. Very nice prof. Approachable, and takes the time to address any questions from the class. She only got annoyed when ppl kept asking her the same questions consisently. Lectures are interesting, and she shows clear enthusiasm for her job. Exams are challenging, but if you study you can still pull off a good mark. Hope to have her for future classes.

She was good

I had her class for half the semester & I retained her lectures & mypsychlab teachings into another University's Developmental course to date. She is totally open minded & taught straight from the Canadian Edition, so I cannot understand why the previous comment was made. If you follow her lead in this class, you will learn. Thanks Dr. Jackson! ;-)

Good Professor, the online course is great, but be sure not to miss an assignment (even if accidental she won't change it) because they can mean the difference in a - to a plus

What a fantastic teacher. I loved the class. She is smart, funny, beautiful, and very interesting. Very helpful and flexible when it comes to discussing grades. The class was outside of my major, but she made it quite enjoyable. I hope to have her as a professor again!

The first prof I had for psych and enjoyed every minute of it. I didnt get a very good mark in it but it was fun! Examples and stories were really entertaining and helped explain the course content.

BY FAR THE BIGGEST JOKE AT THE UNIVERSITY! If you get a chance to take this course... take it! I didn't think I'd be allowed in because it said it was for differnt majors than mine, but I was allowed in and am so glad I took it! It's online, hardly any work, common sense, answers on the net or in practice exercises, really helpful! TAKE THIS!

Dr. Jackson is a really nice professor who generally cares about her students greatly! She wants every one of them to succeed and it is evident through her constant help and dedication. As for the course, there is a lot of reading and work to be done WEEKLY. However, if you can keep up with it, there is no reason you cannot do well.

Very enthusiastic professor. This was the 3rd class I've taken with her, and I don't regret it all. Talks to you, not at you. I enjoyed the class discussion format of her class, much more engaging than a simple didactic lecture. She's really passionate about her love for literature, and she was able to get us motivated to get out there and read.

This woman is the sweetest thing on earth. She's clear, concise, and actually makes learning fun.. which probably seems impossible at the University level.She's SO loving and approachable..gets to know her students by NAME! Go to class and you will do well!

The content isn't great, but if you get to know Jill and follow her instructions, then you have a blast.

Had her for child psychology. She was extremely nice and approachable. She used a lot of personal examples and understood student's needs. The class was fairly interesting and she gave a lot of chances to get a good mark (she offered marks for easy in-class assignments and attendance). One of the best profs I've had.

She is very clear with her explanations. She uses great examples to keep the classroom interested. You kind of feel like the entire lecture is a personal conversation with her which makes is more indulging! Only thing is, personally, she doesn't seem very accommodating and she seems quick to judge others. Might just be my experience though!

i personally love dr.jackson as a professor, her exams are application but if you study you should know them. you have to study and keep up with the readings in order to understandfully what she is talking about. she is funny and entertaining and she moves around in the class room too. very interesting class.

Awesome professor! Great powerpoint slides that are entertaining and keep you awake. Exams are reasonable as long as you study. Very nice and approachable one-on-one. Definitely recommend!!

Jill was an awesome Professor. I truly enjoyed her lectures, while not long they are very informative and keep you on your toes. Her power-points are entertaining with pop- culture references and pictures of cute animals. Exams are straight forward, if you study and pay attention in class you will do fine. Very nice and interesting prof, she is very funny and keeps you interested. Don't take this class if you don't like working in groups, 10% of the course grade is a set of 5 in class assignments that you have to do with a group of people. Midterm questions were right out of the textbook.. so that's a must!

Jackson was an absolute delight to have. I took Psych 115 as an elective and it became my favourite course of my semester. She is an amazing, hilarious, and brilliant professor with a highly engaging and amiable personality. The lectures were intriguing and kept my interest throughout. I cannot recommend Professor Jackson enough!

Dr. Jackson is very personable and relatable, which is unlike other profs. She brings personal experiences into the classroom and encourages others to do the same to make the class a more "real" experience when it comes to parenting practices and debates on child vaccinations, etc. She WILL help you if you seek it. Visit her often from the start.

She is personable, lectures are interesting, doesn't give much work, puts all the slides online (but you have to fill them out so go to every lecture). I've had her 3 times and I absolutely adore her!

Great prof. I'm not majoring in Psych so I didn't really know what to expect from the course but I enjoyed it very much. The exams aren't exactly a walk in the park as I learned from the mid-term but when I really put in a ton of effort, my mark on the final really reflected that effort. She is as fair of a professor as you'll see in university.

Lectures and material are very interesting, but you don't need to show up. Everything you need to do well is in the textbook. Get ready to read and read and read...

Definitely the best professor out of my entire semester. She's really funny, information is easy to understand, and lectures are enjoyable to come to. Really excited to take Psych116. You won't be disappointed if you take any of her classes.

One of the nicest and most approachable profs I've had. Her class isn't super easy but not killing yourself difficult. Definitely go to the lectures and take good notes and for your sake do not get behind on the readings. She's exceptional at using examples to explain large concepts. Do the practice exams well and you'll do well on the actual ones.

She is an awesome prof, hilarious in her lectures and is very fair in her grading. I may be biased because psychology is my major, but I have never heard anything negative from anyone else about her... By far my favourite professor!

Dr. Jackson is amazing woman. I've had her for three semesters already and she has been nothing but a wonderful woman. She is there to listen to you whenever you need help, and during lectures, she makes you laugh your butt off. I'm really sad I do not have her this semester, but hope to have her again soon!

She does post the slide shows online but takes out information that can only be acquired through the lectures. Online and open-book midterms were a huge help!

This woman was like my spirit animal, I couldn't have enjoyed the two classes I've taken with her more. Extremely approachable. Don't take her classes unless you're prepared to put in a lot of work, but she's willing to go so beyond for her students, and is more understanding of personal circumstances than maybe any other prof. Nothing bad to say.

Great professor for psych 115. Lectures were really interesting. Midterms/Exam was straightforward. If you memorize the material youll be good. Textbook is important to have as prof doesnt explain everything. Textbook is also interesting to read. Take dr. Jackson if she is a prof for one of your classes.

Very approachable and helpful if you need it. Willing to help you improve and fix your mistakes if you're interested in improving marks. Great lecturer and stimulates student interest. Only psych prof so far that I don't hate.

(Major class): An amazing professor and person in general. Interesting lectures that won't have you falling asleep, and not completing an entire chapter in one day like other courses (*cough *cough bio). The group projects are a bit annoying, but it's not too difficult to do well. The "midterms" are all online and you can used notes.

Dr. Jill Jackson is the first prof I've had that not only makes you pay attention in class and makes you understand whats being presented. She know whats talking about and makes sure you know it to. She very open to helping you. Great person.

Jackson is a great lecturer compared to most of my professors. She makes the information fun, loves what she does, and is a fair marker. The only minor negatives are that she holds random participation marks in class and talks too much about her personal life.

Jill Jackson is an amazing lecturer, cares about her students, and knows how to make class more interesting. She is a fair marker, is always accessible for help, and is super funny. A lot of reading is required, and class is pretty much mandatory as there's usually a participation assignment. Totally recommend her for any psychology course possible

I loved Dr. Jackson! She made me realize further that I was SO interested in Psychology because of her engaging lectures. She really makes sure you understand the concept of the material, all while adding in something funny along the way. My favorite professor so far.

MY FAVOURITE. Dr. Jackson is an amazing teacher and the course is really fair, honestly do your work and you'll be good. Not an easy A but not insane either. Her class is the one I never want to miss, she makes the subject extra fun. Her lectures also are really helpful, you need to go to class to get the info on the slides but its also in the text

An amazing women, She is funny, and sweet however doesn't let you get away with easy marks, you need to Put in effort to get your grade, but it's a reasonable amount for the course. She makes class fun and has been the only prof I was excited to get up and go listen to in the morning. Reading is mandatory but she is available to help you out.

Her lectures are always very interesting. However, she does not cover everything needed to pass- only about 30% of total course knowledge. But, she is such a sweetheart and her accent is divine. If you actually read the textbook and put in the work, you will succeed. Her tests are fair.

I love this prof. Be aware that you'll have to use the textbook, as lectures don't cover everything that is tested on exams. Lots of info and reading for an elective class.

Dr. Jackson gives very interesting and informative lectures, however, they only cover maybe 30% of what is on the midterm and final the rest comes from the textbook and test banks. Overall a good professor and a good class to take for a FAHSS credit.

Dr. Jackson is an amazing psych prof! She cares about all her students and makes her lectures engaging with her students. Read the textbook as her lectures only cover a portion of the chapters! She answers her emails very quickly. Would 100% take a psych course by Dr. Jackson again!

The BEST prof i've had for psych. She has such a great personality and always makes lectures so engaging. Definitely get ready to read though - very textbook heavy. As long as you read before class and use her lectures to supplement what you've read, you should get an A at the least.

PSYC 1150 & 1160 were fun courses. She is an amazing professor who can make even the most boring content somewhat enjoyable. The marking of major assignments is very tough, so make sure to follow the rubric. The GAs mark the bulk of the work. The quizzes and formal tests can sometimes be technical. Short answers are always very fun and creative.

Had her for psych 1150 and 1160. She explained course material very clearly and is very passionate about psychology, Course is pretty heavy and the textbook is mandatory to read, as exams were based on all material in the textbook.

Amazing intro psych professor! unfortunately I did not get to have Dr. Jackson after intro psych but she is definitely one of my favourites
