She describes herself as "the chick with the stick". Stay away!!
This class is excellent, Professor Kasle is wonderful. You must do the readings to participate and learn, but it's a good class. A MUST for those wanting to go to law school.
Prof. Kasle is really badass, and initially rather intimidating, but once you get to know her, you learn that she loves her honors students. If you put forth an honest effort and don't ****her off, you will definitely get an A.

Prof. Kasle rocks! She's smart and will kick your ass if you don't keep up, but it's worth it-it's what law school will be!
Jill Kasle is one of the biggest ****es I have ever met. She will literally sit there and insult you. She gives the option of redoing papers but if she doesn't feel like grading yours, she will tell you not to bother stating that you have no potential. STAY AWAY!
Form a personal relationship with this woman, it will be very helpful to you in both career and your life as an early 20-something.
eh, she's ok..really self-aggrandizing and can be a pain (with redoing the midterm 3 times), but she's easy, so...
This class was really helpful. I learned a lot from taking it and am looking forward to the second section of the class. She will make you redo your midterm about 500 times (well about 4 for me) but I still ended up getting an A in the class. She's the greatest help too if you're thinking about going to law school.
This class is very helpful and Prof. Kasle is very entertaining, interesting and well-connected (emphasis added). Anyone who can should take this course, especially anyone interested in a legal career.
Biggest waste of energy. She will make you redo your midterm repeatedly and will not tell you what you did wrong until you've already made the mistake three times. No matter how hard you try, not everyone gets A's. She insults you if she feels you're not trying hard enough or don't have potential to be a lawyer. Find another class.
Best teacher I've ever had at GW. She will hook you up with great help in your law school pursuits. Also has all access to most university events and VIP visitors! She can be ****y but it's usually just for your own good.
She is a very dedicated professor and will help you regardless. She can be very stubborn thats why i reccommend going to her student assistants for help. The class is a relative light load until the midterm and finals come around and then they consume your life. Great class and subject matter oh yeah and she gets you the best connections ever!!
Beyond mean. Cruel. Interesting class and topic; you will worship and admire her at first, but then want to jab pencils in your eyes instead of going to class.
You'll love Kasle is you are a Freshman still in awe of professors. But she is kind of mean, arrogant and not a great lecturer. In a class of 20 it has only been a lecture. She sounds very confident but sometimes says things that aren't true. Like that juries are told a lawyer gets 1/3. I wish I had taken something else.
She really is great. While she expects alot from you, dont be affraid. Go in confident and you will be fine. And remember she always lets you take the midterm again :)
You only dislike her if you're not smart. She used to teach only honors, until the university made her open the class to general courses. Unfortunately, such student's can't appreciate her depth of knowledge and all of the easy help she throws at you. Honestly, how many professors give almost everyone an A and let you redo the midterm?!
She can come off as very harsh in class, but really she only is interested in pushing her students. If you think she's mean and you're taking a law course, well don't go to law school because she's just preparing you. Excellent teacher and if you need strings pulled at GW she's the one who will help you. Work load wasn't that intense.
Has a very high opinion of herself. However, if you go and talk to her you will find that she wants you to do well. You may have to redo the midterm and final a few times, but she will eventually give you a good grade. If you are considering law school, take the class. Light workload, but read for class.
It was ALL lecture and with 20 students in the class, that's just bad teaching. Don't need to do the readings by the end, she just gives you "what you need to know about the case". Acts like she has something better to do than teach the class. Try hard and she'll like you.
I love Professor Kasle. I can see how some people may be frustrated by her teaching methods, as she is very specific as to what she wants. However, she's also the complete opposite of confusing. Just do exactly what she tells you to do and you'll get an A. I promise. Also, anyone who loves cookies should definitely take this class. Great professor.
Is obsessive-compulsive about grammar. However, she wants you to learn and will keep having you make corrections until the assignment is perfect. Assignments are hard but make you think. With enough thought and effort, an A is feasible.
All you have to do is follow her exact guidelines for how to write a case, use her hypotheticals as a guideline and you'll fair well. She wants you to DO EXACTLY HOW SHE SAYS so do it and its an A. Attendance and participation important, doing the readings not so important. Also, she know everything about Law school so ask her for advice.
If you are thinking about law school, take this class. She teaches it like a law school course so you read a lot of cases. JLS 1 has written exams, but JLS 2 is all about moot courts. JLS 2 is very time consuming, but JLS 1 is pretty fair. Either way, you're basically guaranteed an A as long as you try. Kasle rocks!
If you want to go to law school you must take this class.
I love Professer Kasle!! You must do exactly what she says and attend an oral argument at the Supreme Court. This class is well worth it because you learn so much.
Awesome professor! She knows the law, and in addition to learning a lot, you'll get to enjoy lots of cookies. She's also the pre-law advisor for Honors students. Like others have said, her class is a must if you want to go to law school.
Advice from and a class with Professor Kasle is neither necessary nor sufficient for getting into law school.
Everyone is absolutely on point when they say that she is tough, brutally honest, and teaches this class "like a law school class" with very high standards. I have no complaints about that. Only complaint is that thinks too much of herself, picks her favorites, and is the sweetest doll to them while she treats the other students like crap.
She's smart and she knows it. Very clear about what she wants. 3 chances at the midterm. 2 chances at the final. If you are at all interested in law, this class won't be too difficult. Favorite class of the semester, the only one I could tolerate attending. Very interesting topic and Professor Kasle makes the class fun. She'll put you on the spot
Professor Kasle is great! Highly recommended if you're at all interested in law. She's tough and she'll put you on the spot, but she means well. She also makes it a point to spend time with every student during office hours.Well-connected and wants to help her students. 3 chances at the midterm and two chances at the final-guaranteed A if u try!
Professor Kasle is a wonderful professor. While she demands excellence, perfect grammar, and consistent attendance, most students end the course with an A. At times, she can become preoccupied with her other duties at the University and her classes take the back seat. Still, she's always willing to schedule a meeting to help students in any area
I really dislike her. She is just plain rude when giving comments back. She has made students cry and doesn't realize how mean she is. I want to like her and think the class is interesting but she makes it very hard to want to show up when she insults you to your face.
If you do EXACTLY what she says, the class is an easy A. She is a very nice lady if she likes you. Pay attention and do what she says and she will like you. Brings in cookies every class, makes class enjoyable, and if you are interested in the topic, take the class. I hope your grammar is up to par though!
She is extremely awkward and has very poor people skills. The class would be worth it except the information she gives is often wrong. Creative thinking and strong logic, which are rewarded in law school, are always discouraged in her class. She will tell you she teaches a law school level class, but this is simply not true.
It's hard to believe she really went to law school. Her assignments are useless and completely unrelated to the constitution. Don't take this class if you are at all interested in the law. You won't walk away having learned anything, and you will have spent countless hours tediously reviewing spelling and grammar.
I completely disagree with the post below. How are the assignments not related to the Constitution? The only assignments are to read Supreme Court cases and then we discuss how the justices interpreted the constitution. Kasle means well and is only tough to get students to learn from their mistakes. Do what she says, grammar, correct mistakes = A.
Prof. Kasle is the best professor GW has! If you take her course (JLS), you will come out a much better student, able to read legal cases, examine small details and comprehend nearly every assignment you come across. If you want to go to law school, this course is a MUST, and Professor Kasle is amazing. you will love her!
Bad professor. She is not helpful. I would go to office hours and instead of helping me, she would just criticize my work with no constructive criticism. In the other hand, she is smart and knows her stuff, but she doesnt know how to teach nor does she care about her students. She is very passive aggressive and takes pride in it. Avoid if you can
Prof. Kasle is an asset to GW. I took her last spring for Justice and the Legal System II. Her teaching method mimiks that of Law School, so if you have no interest in law, do not take her course. She is precise in what she wants, she is a sweetheart, enjoys teaching and is dedicated to her students. A bit intimidating, but a great prof!
Kasle may be the greatest contact to have at GWU. Many students do not really understand who she is, but she is amazing. If your willing to work with her, she is more than willing to give you a great grade. Be friendly and get on her good side and you are set. Most importantly, DO EXACTLY AS SHE SAYS...she will tell you this and she means it!
Let's just put it this way: I could receive a compliment from anyone in the world about my work, even the President, but it wouldn't be as meaningful as one from Professor Kasle.
She was harsh in such a way that was offensive and cruel. I got a 5 in AP Eng and a 5 in AP Calc. I was not dumb heading into her class straight from high school, but it definitely was a change that was shocking. She was mean to me, made me feel idiotic, constantly insulted my intellectual capability, and laughed at my hopes for law school.
Constitutional Law is a difficult class and Prof Kasle is a hard grader (only midterm/final on your grade). But she ended up being one of my favorite professors. Kasle is also graciously inviting our entire class to watch the Inaugural parade from her balcony (it's on the route). It's a fun class because we talk about law, while eating cookies.
My comments are continuously deleted for being true. Kasle is not a good teacher. She is unethical and does not poses current knowledge. As a law student I can say she is not an accurate portrayal of law school or an academic. If you want to go to law school don't take her class she will teach you the wrong methodology.
Kasle is an incredibly tough teacher who only takes two grades into account, final and midterm. You have multiple attempts at the midterm but misspellings can earn you an F. PROOFREAD everything you turn into her because she is OBSESSED with grammar and proper English. She can be intimidating and blunt but by the end of the year everyone gets an A.
Kasle is awful. Simply awful.
Kasle is rude. I find the class interesting, as does everyone else. She is rude in the sense that she talks down to everyone and wants everyone to do exactly what she says. There's a midterm and final, but beware you can get a no grade for making easy mistakes that she believes are the end of the world.
Worst Prof. I have ever had and extremely bias. She plays favorites and is highly unethical. She is a determent to academia and should be removed. I did well in her class just so I could prove her wrong when she vowed to fail me. Thankfully, it was blind grading. thankfully, she was fired from the law school. totally immoral
I looked forward to every single class- we had cookies and talked about constitutional law. She is passionate about what she teaches and incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. She is a very harsh grader though, so be prepared. Work hard and show that you care, and you will succeed. She wants everyone to be successful.
Really tough quizzes, but if you are at all interested in Law- you can't beat this class.
Kasle either likes you or does not, and that is what will determine the way you are treated. She is very smart and very clear about her expectations, but they only apply to certain people. She talks down to her class, and gives exclusively negative feedback (never constructive). Probably a great person to have on your side, if you are lucky enough.
Professor Kasle is my favorite instructor at GW! If you have any interest in law, take this class!
Don't let other reviews dissuade you... FRESHMEN - TAKE THIS CLASS. If you are at all interested in the Constitution or law, this is the class for you. Professor Kasle is fantastic. She expects a lot out of her students, but if you are willing to work, you will ACE the class. No doubt. And, she is a great resource to have so early on!
Professor Kasle is probably the least helpful professor at GWU, and she is extremely rude. She will tell you that she wants to "bang your head against a wall" or that you aren't worthy of her help. She has no respect for her students and expects her students to know what she wants even when she never explains it. Stay away.
Prof. Kasle is the harshest/worst teacher I have ever had. Stay away. THIS CLASS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LAW. Take this class if you want to be personally belittled in front of the class and constantly threatened with a F. If you do take this class, she will tell you that you are stupid: just remember that you are not.
Professor has been one of my favorite professors, but I would be lying if I said my peers feel the same way. If your the type of person who needs positive reinforcement or needs an A, don't take the class. However, if you'd like to learn about Constitutional Law and would like to go to law school, take this class!
Something that hasn't come across in the other reviews: she hates anyone questioning her authority (or questioning her conclusions, and even asking her to explain). Seeing as this is a big part of a liberal college education, one can assume that this is less than conducive to actual learning. She will train you to regurgitate her ideas.
Professor Kasle is a long time law educator with a clear partisan bias. If you wish to succeed in her class, write according to her beliefs.
It's very hard to not get an A in the class contrary to what she tells you. Just do EXACTLY as she says and you will do fine. I took her class 3 years ago as a Freshman and now as a rising grad student, I can say that if you think she's not teaching well because of her strictness, you're wrong. She knows what she's doing and she'll help you write.
I learned a lot about American law while taking this course, but I cant advice anyone to take this deans seminar UNLESS theyre dead set on being a lawyer. Kasle definitely knows her stuff and the Supreme Court visit is fun, but she is very condescending, contradicting, blatantly partisan, a subjective grader, and is unnecessarily harsh.
Knowledgeable, but scary as hell. She works to actively degrade and strip you of your intellectual knowledge. The entire class is her quest for power, working actively for you to feel less about yourself. She made students cry frequently (especially during 1on1 meetings) and feel less about themselves. Gird your loins if you have this class.
You learn a lot. But it's hard as hell and not really worth the anxiety, tears, and self-loathing it causes. No overthinking or making mistakes (she'll berate you in front of the entire class). She'll make you feel insignificant and dumb if you do. On the bright side, the PTSD you'll get from this class is a great conversation starter.
Terrible. As a person, she is rude, deceitful, and has an ego the size of the Washington Monument. She spent more time gossiping and talking about cookies than actually teaching. Course material could be learned using any website. Not worth the money or the course credits.
Prof. Kasle is incredibly intelligent. She is a woman with a hard exterior and clear expectations of her students but she also believes that law should be taught with cookies. She often lets you hand in a draft of your assignments before they're graded, which is helpful. If you attend class and take good notes, you will get an A.
I just wanted to ask her, "who hurt you?" But seriously avoid. The anxiety is not worth it, especially as a freshman. I questioned my self worth and my intellectual capabilities. Though I'm not sure I want to go to law school, she had me convinced that I should never even try. Got an A to prove her wrong. Felt such relief after the last class.
Kasle is degrading, rude, and egotistical. People were afraid to answer her questions because she basically calls you stupid if you are wrong. A HORRIBLE learning environment. She has the most ridiculous standards, i.e. I received an F on an assignment because I did not italicize the name of a Supreme Court case. You will regret taking her class!!
Kasle is a very intimidating woman with VERY clear grading criteria. It's so clear, that if you mess up, you get an F. The way to succeed is by going to her office hours and being nice to her. If you sit in the back and don't participate, you will get a C. She can be very mean, but it's to get her point across.
Professor Kasle is a very egotistic person who loves to belittle her students. If you want to have any self respect left after this class, do not take it. There was a very loose structure to the class where she would rely on email and constantly change things. I learned a lot about Constitutional Law, though.
Professor Kasle is a very egotistic person who loves to belittle her students. If you want to have any self respect left after this class, do not take it. She would rely heavily on email and constantly change things. I learned a lot about Constitutional Law, though. Don't let her discourage you from pursuing a career in law.
Professor Kasle is tough but she really cares about her students, so long as they make an honest effort. I took two courses with her; the work was intellectually stimulating and very helpful in preparing me for law school, in which I'm now enrolled. Take the class to learn about the law and even prepare for law school. Also: she likes cookies.
BEST PROF. EVER! You'll get much more than a grade. She's extremely knowledgeable and genuinely cares about her students. Her class is designed to make you successful+reach your potential. My writing+analytical skills, understanding of the law and other aspects improved a lot thanks to her. Her class is VERY rewarding. She is an amazing professor.
Professor Kasle is an amazing professor. She wants to see students succeed, but does make you work for a good grade. She makes students become accustomed to real life and the possibility of law school, and these skills are essential for future success. Professor Kasle is there to clarify anything or to speak about life, and she will always help!
Professor Kasle is challenges you to think differently. She has truly been one of the most formative professors - even educational instructor- that I've ever had. She has made me a much better writer and critical thinker. She is always there for students, go talk to her in office hours -- she'll work with you until you understand the material.
Kasle is very simple: go to class, respect her authority, & make the changes she gives during drafts and you'll get an A. She is very old school-- she is the lawyer, you aren't (therefore she's always right). Understand this and you'll understand her. She'll make you cry/hate yourself/reconsider life BUT if you put in the effort you'll be rewarded
The guide to success here is very simple: never come to class less than 100% prepared, FOLLOW HER INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY, and be prepared to WORK. She is old-fashioned: she wants you to succeed but if you fail her expectations, you WILL get called out and will fail. Don't take it personally and find your backbone: she will prepare you for law school.
I'd love to take a class with her again! It was super interesting. There's not a ton of work and class was cancelled many times. Very accessible to meet with & gives good feedback. The course may seem hard at first but Professor Kasle will try her best to help and she gives almost everyone an A. 10/10 recommend if you're considering law school!
Professor Kasle is great. She knows her stuff and will do everything to get you an A! That being said, you have to put effort in on your end. Deadlines religion and if you schedule an appointment and don't show up she will call you out. Come to class prepared because she likes to put everyone in the hot seat.
Clearly very accomplished in her field, but one of the most genuinely unkind and disdainful professors I have ever met at GWU. It's not impossible to get an A in her class (there are very few assignments, they're pretty short, and the readings are pretty basic) but be aware that she won't help much and you're on your own mostly.
To pass with an A in Prof. Kasle's class, all you have to do is follow her instructions exactly and listen to her feedback. That's it. Is she mean? Absolutely. She's downright cruel to some students. But also incredibly kind with her favorite students. But if you want to learn about the law and earn a relatively easy A, it might be worth it.
Professor Kasle is simply amazing. Can she be incredibly tough on you? YES, absolutely. Can she be a bit mean? Yeah, but it's usually for a good reason. To do well in the class just listen to her! She's extremely accessible outside of class and all she wants is for you to succeed. If you work hard and think before you speak you'll do very well.
I got an A. Don't take this class. This course is taught by a horrible professor. She is demeaning and belittling. Professor Kasle is unprofessional and disrespectful. Her need to control her students and demonstrate her absolute superiority over them, takes away from any substantive learning or information that she teaches.
Terrible. Awful. Makes you feel like you are worth nothing.
Professor Kasle if very specific about what she wants. She is tough and can sometimes be harsh, but it is all in good nature. She truly cares about all her students, and will meet with you whenever you need. Tells you what will be on all exams, and how to write it. Offers make-up exams and extra credit work if needed. Learn about contemporary life.
VERY direct and sometimes brutal, particularly in one on one meetings (she threatened to leave mine if I didn't get something right). That being said she is very nice in lectures, though she likes to argue with students that disagree with her politically. She is an easy grader, LOTS of chance to get extra credit. She strives to get everyone an A.
Kasle is awesome. Grades only on midterm and final, and she gives a bunch of extra credit opportunities. She wants everyone to get an A, and if you listen to her advice and sit through her harshness when grading, you'll be fine. Do the practice hypos she assigns at the beginning of the sem. Tbh u can skim through the opinions she assigns.
She is a very rude professor who doesnt give students chances. She read my paper and said that she didnt like the way I wrote it and gave me a C. AVOID THIS CLASS AT ALL COSTS!!!!
Prof Kasle is one of the best professors I've had at GW. She is extremely knowledgeable and treats this class as a true law class. Come to class with your hw done and ready to ask q's. She truly wants everyone to get an A and if you show incentive, she will do her best to get you there. Deadlines are rigid but if you appeal she can be flexible
Whatever you do - do NOT take this class. Professor Kasle is mean and condescending towards all of her students. She constantly cancels class but will get extremely mad if you miss any, even if you have a valid reason for doing so. She calls people out for things they can't control and has no sympathy whatsoever. Just don't take this class.
Prof Kasle could be very rude and demeaning towards students. She would be very harsh on students during class and acted like her assignments were far easier to understand than they actually were. On the bright side, her class was only once a week and she would assign very little work. However, her grading scale was often very hard to understand
If you develop a good relationship with Prof Kasle, she's a great mentor to have at GW & beyond. She truly cares about her students and wants them to succeed, especially during the pandemic. We had very few assignments; she gave opportunities to redo them for full credit if you didn't do that well on your first try. Great prep class for law school.
Prof Kasle is amazing! You learn a lot and she is super knowledgeable. She wants everyone to get an A, so just listen to exactly what she wants and you'll be fine. If you are interested in law, this is the class to start with.
Look, Prof Kasle is a really smart person but her grading criteria is incredibly unclear and she is harsh (borderline unkind). But you will get an A in the class if you work hard. She does allow do-overs and extra credit. If you are thinking about law school, she provides some info. BUT if you took the class just to take a class it's not worth it.
Professor Kasle can be very picky and while she may be seen as rude, she is an amazing professor. Do not take the class if you intended to not have any motive towards it. She knows what she's talking about. Communication is key, and she can very understanding if you truly care to pass. Provides great advice on Law School Admissions.
The class was interesting, but she is a bizarre professor. She has a lot of cool anecdotes because she's so old. However, her tone is very condescending/belittling and her grading is very unclear (doesn't use Blackboard). If you are sensitive or ask lots of questions, don't take this class. That being said, you will probably get an A in the end.
Professor Kasle says what she thinks, and she doesn't sugarcoat anything. If you don't care about the class she will treat you harsh, but if you try even a little you will get an A. If you want to be a lawyer she is the best teacher at this university. She doesn't let people disagree with her, but its the kind of class where you should just listen
You will be emotionally tormented by Professor Kasle, no doubt about it. She is not a nice person, but she cares about her students. She will always try to help you if you need anything. If you stick with her, she gets better and you'll always have a relationship with her. She will make you cry and she is insensitive but it was worth it for me.
Professor Kasle is an incredibly disrespectful and condescending person. I have never encountered an educator so belittling towards students, so unclear about their strict and bizarre grading criteria, or so insistent on proving their superiority over their students. She will tear you to shreds and give no meaningful feedback when you seek help.
This professor has no interest in her students. She is extremely arrogant and opinionated and provides no guidance/support to students. She seems disinterested in teaching her subject and providing inspiration to students which is really disappointing.
I found the grading criteria unclear, and the feedback often wasn't actionable. The classroom dynamic felt skewed, with only a few students frequently engaged and the rest, including myself, feeling overlooked.
Extremely disrespectful and condescending. As someone who graduated from law school, she lets emotions get the best of her and lashes out at students in emails. Do not take her classes! RUN!
DO NOT take this class if you are a freshman. Professor Kasle displays concerns of ageism. Even if you are putting in effort into this class, professor Kasle DOES NOT CARE and is extremely inconsiderate. The course content is interesting, however professor Kasle should not be teaching this course, as her grading criteria is extremely confusing.
This class is extremely intimidating the first few weeks, but don't drop it. It became my favorite class I've ever taken and taught me so much. If you are at all interested in law, going to law school, the Supreme Court, or constitutional law TAKE THIS CLASS. It was truly an amazing class to be in no matter how nerve-racking the first test was.
Professor Kasle will: - Teach you a ton about constitutional law. - Make you a better writer. - Go out of her way to help you succeed (you will almost certainly get an A). BUT... - Her grading criteria is unclear at first. - She will make you cry at some point. Seriously. This class is genuinely amazing, just prepare yourself mentally.
Kasle is very specific about what she wants to see in assignments, which can be challenging at first but very easy once you get the hang of it. She is happy to answer questions but can come off a little short - important to understand it's not personal. Very engaging and interesting classes, and she makes assignments straightforward and simple
2 midterms (lowest grade dropped) and a final. She will usually have in class time to help you on them. The first practice one is shocking, just trust the process. She wants you to succeed and you will if you go to class and do the work.
The most extreme and rude professor I have ever had. However, as the other reviews state, you will 99% end up with an A in this class as she is very lenient with grading. Teaches a good amount about constitutional law and the patterns are pretty easy to detect to succeed in midterms. Barely any homework at all; some readings.
Professor Kasle, honestly turned out being a great professor. Pretty sure most get an A in the class. All you have to do it follow the rubric. You will obtain most information in class. She might come up stubborn but don't argue with her, she is only trying to help trust me. She took us to the supreme court and it honestly was a great experience.
Cold and rude, one of my worse experiences at GW even if the grading was generous.
The second class is oral argument. You will get an A literally just show up and participate. This is just to help you prepare for law school and public speaking in general. Don't stress, so easy.
Originally she was very tough and I had some issues with the grades I received and the feedback that came with it. However, once speaking with her about my concerns the entire class changed for me. It ended up being my favorite course of the semester, and it was evident that Professor Kasle cared for us to succeed.
If you want to be a lawyer, take her class. She is so knowledgeable, and class functions exactly like law school. She will cold call you, so read the cases and write an outline before class. You're graded on a midterm and final "paper," which is 9 sentences and she will help you. Long class but she is so interesting to listen to
It's very clear she knows what she's talking about and you will likely get an A. It's just not worth it though. She is incredibly rude and picks on students. She also has very fun lead grading criteria. She knows what she wants to see but does not express that to you in any way other than telling you you're wrong. Will make you cry at some point.
I had the misfortune of experiencing this teacher during my first semester at GW. More than just a few classes were cancelled or altered in some way. She was outwardly rude toward me and other students in front of the class which was a shame because she seems to be well educated. That is overshadowed by her need to overpower students.
Don't take Kasle. Simply not worth it. She'll put you through hell all semester and then give you an A, but it was a waste of time. I did not learn anything in Justice and the Legal System. Class was cancelled often. There was few assignments and she grades based off of arbitrary standards, you just have to guess. She''s also just plain rude.
I got an F on the midterm for using too many colons (not hyperbole, but Kasle offers retakes). Do NOT deviate from the syllabus at all. Kasle is an ally, but she is still weird to trans ppl. She is often right about how you can improve and goes significantly overboard and fails you. She demeans everyone publicly and privately. Don't take her class.
Kasle's class is challenging but rewarding. She has high standards, but if you put in the work, you'll likely get an A. The material is fascinating - definitely consider this course, especially if you're interested in law or the Supreme Court. Unstuck AI was a game-changer for my study prep.
She is awful, but the class is very rewarding. She will make you cry and her class is over all very tense but it teaches you a lot about the field of law. I highly recommend her if you have any interest in law. Once she makes you cry she lightens up and can be slightly enjoyable. The class is an easy A and there is not much homework!
I took Kasle's class years ago and it's genuinely been the most useful class I've taken at GW. Besides being super interesting, it made me a much better writer and communicator (even if it wasn't obvious at the time). If you have even the slightest interest in law school, absolutely take this class. And if not, it's still probably worth your time!
if you wanna do law school take her class, gets hate idk why she is so funny and her class is not really hard this is the class participation, midterm, final --> midterm and final are 9 sentences each that are fill in the blank and she goes over it with you in class
Professor Kasle is tough. She treats her class like law school and if you're interested 100% worth taking. All you have to do it show up, and try your hardest. She can be rude in her tone but she is def all bark and no bite. Great resource for perspective law students. She is wildly liberal and makes it known, get over that and she is great!
Kasle is def hard on her students but she's a great prof. She doesn't use slides so it's important to pay attention in class and she only relies on the syllabus. There is only a midterm and final which are formatted the same, you write them before class and workshop it during class. She can be really mean sometimes but I've learned so much from her
Alright so anyone complaining about Prof. Kasle has to understand this class is designed to be like law school. If you think she's harsh or tough on you, just imagine how much nicer she is than the judge you'll try cases in front of one day. This class is wonderful prep, Kasle is quite funny and nice if you give it your best, and you'll learn lots.
