She is great, new techaner but has Masters from UVA, she has worked in the field and knows her stuff, if nothing else she is full of energy and more than willing to help. All work is online and powerpoint, don't buy the book.

BEST TEACHER!if u hate acct she will help you understand and learn it well.she is welling to help you with anything.the only thing is she cant do anything about the test's, they are made by the school, so whatever grade u get is final.But with her notes and her practice handouts anyone can do really really good.I did with her help.(everything is online and powerpoint you don't need the book at all)

As some teachers are focused on grading, she's focused on teaching. Grading comes second to her; she really has the heart to teach. If you just go to class and listen to half of what she says, at least a B. If you try just a little bit, than guaranteed A

Accounting is not easy. But she will do everything she can to help with a positive outlook. Sometimes I found her hard to follow. She also helps a significant amount before exam with review sheet.

First thought, she's gorgeous. UGA/UVA grad. Accounting is tolerable when she teaches. Crystal clear, Homework due right before exam (3 exams+final). If you read, practice, and cram before the final, you will do well. Can use TI-83 for exams. No cell phone calculators. Will take ACC 212 with her, great teacher.

Great teacher, very clear and helpful. She has power point slides that cover everything on the test, has a review day for homework questions and practice test questions. Also before the test she has a quick review. Almost forgot to mention, she HOT!

I took her for both 111 and 112 and to be frank she is an amazing teacher. It all makes perfect sense when she explains it, she is truly interested in our education and is cool and laidback (but still organized and formal). Excellent teacher. Do take her.

I've taken other accounting classes, some teachers are hard to follow and some just give you answers-which if you plan to go to GMU will not help you. Acc is not a easy classes to understand but if you learn the good basic skills to understand the acc from acc211 then your good until 212 as well. She is a great helpful teacher and gives out much more than acc class, so take that advantage to ask her a lot of question because she is always responsive to every question!! Great teacher!

She starts each class by going over the week's agenda and informs you of any extracurricular opportunities that may be beneficial as a transfer applicant. This obviously portrays her preparedness and genuine concern for the academic success of her students. Midterm + Final + online quizes and hw. You earn your grade so don't expect an easy A.

Great professor! Worked for one of the big 4s-so has a lot of experience. Is always willing to help and give advice. Easy A as long as you do hw and study for midterm and final. Very clear and concise. Must take this class if majoring in acct or just need it for major! You won't regret it!!!

Prof. Mitchell was a fantastic teacher. She is very strict about deadlines, however it is for good reason. She is very helpful and wants her students to succeed. However, if you take her 8 week ACC course be prepared for an extremely full and fast paced course.

Professor Mitchell is great! Do the LearnSmarts and the online homework and quizzes. I used the LearnSmarts to study for the midterm and final and got A's on both. If you need help, just ask her. She is very committed to her students success! Great professor for accounting!

How on earth you won't love Acc while taking it with Mrs Mitchell. She is an angel. She doesn't care about ur grade, she cares about ur effort. She is very inspiring with all her passion and charisma , you will pray if the semester will be extended for longer time

Ms. Mitchell is the most amazing professor ever. She has inspired me to want to become an accountant. I am majoring in business at this time, but am planning to change my major once I transfer to GMU. She also teaches there as well, and I Will be taking all classes that are available to take with her. Great Great Lady.

The department has a rule that you must get at least 60% on the exams in order to pass. I did great on the midterm but messed up on the final and she failed me, even tho my total points had me at a B. In the end, all the work I did was thrown out the window. I bet you 9 times out of 10 the final exam is what costs students this course.

I HIGHLY recommend professor Mitchell. She is quick to respond to all inquiries and gives great feedback. Mrs. M is possibly the best professor I've had. I took this class online in 8 weeks. Be ready to put in A LOT of time I spent on average 15 hours/week during this course. If you put in the work and use the practice pages you will do well.

She is the best prof I've ever had! Took her for two accounting classes. She's so sweet and is a great teacher. Accounting can be challenging sometimes but she tries to make it as easy as possible. She's very happy to help you when you have trouble with something. Really cares about her students. I don't know anyone who's taken her and hated it.

She's really nice but personally i don't recommend her because there's no room for error in this class and that's scary. U can't fail the exams, and the final is harder than the midterm. Just don't take accounting at the Annandale campus. Ur life will be stressed and miserable.

Test is too hard. You need to remember stuffs, close book. Don't recommend to take her class.

She is a good professor, but her exams are tough. Do not just focus on preparing journal entries because her exams will also test a lot of key concepts. Each multiple choice question answered correctly is worth ten points. If you answer 3 questions incorrectly, you will lose 30 points.

Ive taken both 211 & 212 with her and she's always been helpful and clear on her assignments. her lectures help u do the hw and the hw helps u on the exam. just remember whats on the online quizzes because those show up on the multiple choice test. u have to get 60% on both midterm and final. ignore the neg feedback. seriously . i recommend her!

Best professor I've had at NOVA. Accounting is hard but she makes it easy. She's always available during office hours and wants you to succeed. You can miss 100 pts in this class and still get an A. If you do the homework, follow her guides and study there is no reason you can't get a good grade in this class. She has been a great mentor.

Jill is great. She holds the bar high but if you follow her syllabus you will be fine. She is clear & concise, organized, helpful, & nice. Everyone says how hard Prof Mitchell's tests are but as long as you read the materials and follow the powerpoints, they're very easy and they're only 25 questions. She's gives extra credit opportunities every week which could easily bring you up a letter grade. She's clear, concise, and extremely beautiful (if that sells anyone)

You are learning from the best in Virginia if you take her classes. This was my first accounting class and my third semester at college and Prof. Mitchell took a dry subject like accounting and made it easy to learn. Nonetheless, the class is very lecture heavy and her tests are hard. If your willing to work, take her class!

Her slides summarize the textbook material but you should read the textbook and practice the problems in order to fully understand. Her exam review sheets were helpful in preparing for the exams and she gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. She is kind and always willing to help students. I enjoyed her class very much.

Prof. Mitchell is amazing. Took her over the summer (8 Wk Course online) so it was fast paced but she has a good amount of resources to ensure you do well. She uploads ppts for each chapter so you dont need the text book. 4 exams, 2 proctored, and 2 open book. It was mainly exam based, so you have to make sure you put in the work and study.

I went into accounting not knowing anything, but I visited her during office hours and she's super helpful! She gives 4 exams and online homework is due on Sundays. Golden choice. I took her once a week/8 wk course in the Fall of 2017 and it was fast paced. One week you have lecture, the very next is your exam. Tests are 25 multiple choice, NOT open book. Study the slides, what is in pink is what is on your exam. Extra credit opportunities given max 30 pts. Print out practice exam, (solutions posted).

Professor Mitchel is kind and BEAUTIFUL. The only reason why I think it was challenging is because I took her 8 week course. You meet once a week and then the next BAM! is your exam. The exams are super easy though. Just study the slides, do practice exam, & youre good. Most questions are conceptual so those are a gimmie. Ur in good hands with her.

I took Accounting 212 with Professor Mitchell and she was amazing, even though it was an 8 week course, she took her time to help her students. Wayy better than my previous professor in accounting. Her tests were not easy, but were fair and she tutored me every time I needed help. I will certainly take her again when moving onto Mason.

My previous online experience at NOVA has been redeemed! I think Prof Mitchell works harder than most in-class professors. She responds quickly to questions and her quizzes, exams, and grading are all fair. The point is to learn and not memorize, so the moderate (sometimes large) load of homework and assignments are necessary.

Professor Jill is an amazing professor who takes her time to grade and respond to every assignment. The class itself is pretty challenging but if you put the work in there is no doubt you will earn an A. She has a tremendous amount of patience and will thoroughly explain anything you are confused about.

Take her. She is amazing, so understanding (she states at beginning that family comes first before her class) and her course structure is soo in your favor. Easy final project instead of final exam. And she makes her exams "quizzes" where they balance out w/ hw and other grades and don't impact u too much

One of the best professors I have ever had. She clearly posts all assignments due at the beginning of the semester so you know what is expected of you. She grades fairly and is available to help outside of class. I learned more in this class than I ever expected I could. If you do the assignments you will pass with a decent grade. Just outstanding.

She is a good professor. But you have to put in the work, when you ask questions she is eager to help. There are 7 Quizzes she drop the worst one and no final just a written paper. She knows her stuff she help write the book we use in the class.

THE most organized class i have ever taken, i have always hated and sucked at accounting/math but passed this class with a 95% Lots of extra credit opportunities, she is very understanding, grades on time, goes over every topic in class, gives you career advice!
