This is a lab professor who rarely will answere any of your questions. She drives in from Lansing and complains to the class about it. She is the know-it-all kind of teacher who expects you to find your own answers to your questions and is generally good for nothing. DO NOT TAKE HER!
Took her for lab and she was decent. Went through procedure fairly fast so we could get the lab done as quick as possible. But she wasn't very approachable. Fair grader, just make sure you have everything she is looking for or you'll lose points.
Had her for lab - at first I thought she was going to be really difficult, but as we got to know her she turned out to be really helpful and fun :) Grades easily and as long as you are willing to ask a question, she will answer it for you! Very clear on what she wants from you.
Really easy class, tests are a breeze if you study right from the power points. She only uses the text book for hw problems. She comes off kinda stern but shes a good prof.
Boring class and HARD exams. Jill is nice but not very helpful. You have easy book work for every quiz and two quizes for every exam. Final is accumulative. Attendance is not counted but missing class makes it hard to pass.
I loved her. Her lab was great. She didn't really care what you did as long as you got it done. Her introduction to the labs were short so we had a lot of time to work on the lab. She was a easy grader as long as you had exactly what she wanted which wasn't hard.
easy class, lots of book work and quizzes. just study the notes and you'll do fine on the exams.
Very helpful in office hours, and she's a very fair grader. Every time I thought I would do horrible on tests, I didn't do so bad. Look over notes from slides and you'll be good.
I loved her. She was great. She tried to scare us on the first day, but she is a great teacher. She will give you points for just about anything you write down, and if she didn't say it, it won't be on the exam. I wish she tought every CHM class at the universtiy. Take her class if you can.
Very easy for lab, very short intros gave us extra time to work on labs and get out earlier. Pretty lenient grader as long as you explained your answer. Very funny and enjoyable. Make sure you read the lab prior to lab so that you don't make a mistake! Not only will you look like an idiot to her, but usually the rest of the class that depends on yo
She is an awesome organic chemistry instructor, not so much with the biochemistry. Her exams were in line with what she taught, although study guides would have helped. She gives partial credit which helps on the exams. She is very helpful during class time but don't bother with going to office hours.
Excellent instructor!!!! She really cares about the student. Explains very well in class. Exams are reasonable. Take her if you havr the chance...you will NOT regret it!!!! Very Helpful
Jill is by fair one of the best teachers I have had at Grand Valley. She truly cares about the students and makes each one feel special. She takes a very difficult class and turns it into one that is understandable and enjoyable. TAKE JILL SHE'S THE BEST!
Professor Morris is one of the best professors I have had. I am not very good at chemistry but she made orgo very easy and understandable. She writes the notes as she goes along so you can see all the steps. This class took a lot of effort, but as long as you attend class and study your notes, you should do fine. Definitely take 231 with her!!!
She's the best chem professor I've had. She explained things easily and clearly, and she was very helpful during office hours and labs. I rarely had questions or confusions with her has a professor.
One of my favorite professors by far. She writes all the notes out and goes at a students pace. I would recommend her to anyone.
Prof. Morris is by far one of the BEST Prof's I have had here at GVSU. She is VERY helpful in basically every way. I am not a Chemistry person but, she helped me understand Orgo. She writes all of her notes out on the board & goes at a really easy pace. I sold my textbook back on the 2nd day of class. Textbook is definetly NOT needed for her class
Take this professor and you will not be sorry! She is a great professor and is willing to help. She posts practice exams which are similar to the actual exam. She also posts MULTIPLE worksheets and answer keys so you can practice orgo! She is awesome! You don't need the text book. Everything that is on her exams will be covered in lecture! Get her!
Morris knew the material well enough to teach it with ease. She had no problem reviewing problems when students didn't understand and she never used the book. The book was only for extra practice if you felt like you needed it on top of her practice worksheets. Tests weren't impossible but required knowledge of the information. TAKE HER!
This class could potentially be a nightmare. However, with Morris, this class could not have been easier. She teaches the material very well and her exams are much easier than other Organic Chem professors. She can be socially awkward at times but that is beside the point. Take her if you can.
Dr. Morris is a great teacher and fun to talk to. She gives lots of useful test prep material and seems to really care about the education of her students. I would definitely recommend her!
I LOVED MORRIS!!! Awesome, awesome professor. She doesn't test you on material she didn't teach. Gives practice exams that are actually fair practice for the real exams. Very clear teaching method and doesn't trail off during lecture. HIGHLY reccommend.
TAKE ONLY HER! I'm not joking around. If you want an excellent grade with an even more excellent professor. I rearranged all of my classes to be in hers. I had a 43% in organic the last time I took it and with her I got an A. I even like chemistry now which was something I had dreaded before. TAKE MORRIS especially if this is a redo for you.
Very good instructor but sometimes her responses to a question seem intended to make you feel stupid. However, she lectures over all the information you need to pass her class. She also makes her tests extremely hard.
Prof Morris is awesome. Very helpful and straightforward.
There is no such thing as an easy organic chemistry class, but she made it about as easy as it could be. Her tests were difficult, but she made the lecture material very clear. Take her class!!
Seriously dont understand why she has such good ratings. The most unapproachable prof and very lazy doesnt like to get up and walk. Reads books when she should be grading papers and makes you feel stupid when you ask her a question. I regret taking her. She is not what this site makes her out to be. Beware.
No organic chemistry class is easy but she is BY FAR the best chemistry teach I have ever had and I've had 5 of them. If you put in the effort and go to class it will pay off. She's completely fair, no tricks. She is your best option.
Extremely straight forward prof! She understands that none of us are chem majors & so makes it as painless as possible. Exams match the types of problems she gives on worksheets & practice exams. Never touched the book & did well! Do whatever you can to get in her class!!!
Great professor! She's very clear on what she expects you to know for exams, and the notes she uses in class are easy to understand. The practice worksheets are really helpful and almost exactly like the exams. Take her for this class if possible!
Professor Morris is the best chemistry prof I've ever had. She is excellent at explaining things in a way that is easy to comprehend and remember. Her exams are difficult but very fair, and she posts sample exams from previous classes online so you can work through the problems, which gives you an excellent idea of what will be on the exam.
I think that if you want to pass orgo, Morris is your best bet. Her class isn't easy by any means, but she is really nice and she does her lecture notes as the lecture goes on, which is really helpful.
Morris made learning Organic Chemistry fun! She is so smart and actually knows how to teach. If you are afraid to take Orgo due to difficulty I would definitely recommend her because she made me really like it and I do not like chemistry at all. All around great professor. Tests are all written but not hard if you study!
Great professor! She may seem unapproachable at first, but once you get to know her, she is pretty funny. Cares about students' success even though she may not show it. So glad I had her for lecture, lab, && discussion. She is awesome!
Best chemistry prof I've ever had. She explains things in a way that is easy to understand. The homework and practice exams are the same types of questions as the tests. Would absolutely recommend her. She knows what she's doing!! It's not easy, and you MUST attend every class. I barely ever used the book, just a couple times to clarify things.
This was my second time taking CHM 241 and she made the class structured so much better than Kovacs did. She may seem unapproachable but you just have to try talking to her. She makes herself very available.
Prof Morris is the best chem professor I have ever had! She made orgo so much easier and was more than willing to help someone if they did not understand it. Her exams are a little tough but if you study you will do just fine. If you have the chance to take her, do it, she is totally worth it!!
One of the best teachers that i have ever had, she makes you come to class and take notes each and every day. Also, if she taught it. it will be on the exam, so learn everything.
She is wonderful, willing to help outside of class. She writes her own notes but it really helps you watching her write out everything. Occasionally you won't be able to understand what she has written but if you asked she would laugh and help you out. She is the Best Chem teacher I have found.
Don't buy the book, she tells you every single thing you need to know and nothing more with plenty of practice materials. Unfortunately, orgo is just a hard class, there is a lot to know but I can't imagine anyone making that class any easier to understand. Gives up to 15 points extra credit to lowest exam score if you do better on the final exam.
Jill is a great professor! Very clear and knows what she is talking about. Very willing to help outside of class, not much room for questions in class. She rarely answers questions during tests so know your stuff. It is a challenging class but she color codes and makes everything really simple, so go to class. There are four tests plus a final.
You need to put a lot of time into this class to get an A, but Mrs. Morris is super helpful and her lectures are very clear. Tests are not based on memorization, but understanding; they are manageable if you practice the material (she provides practice worksheets and tests on blackboard).
Professor Morris is one of the better CHM 231 professors to take. The class itself is really hard, but she is willing to help! She seems a little strict/scary at first, but seriously one of the nicest most helpful profs. If you don't understand something email her or see her in her office hours. She emails back so fast and is very clear!!
Orgo inst an easy class and professor Morris is extremely helpful. She give you the option to look at previous test for practice and always post the keys to discussions and homework's. Helpful if you need one on one help, definitely go to her office. I would definitely take her!
Morris is commited to her students. Her tough exterior is just on the outside. She's available during office hours, email or tutoring at CSC. Fair grader and exams. She provides previous practice exams. If you read before lecture. Go to lecture. Do every practice problem from exams , class and discussion you will do well! Morris was one of my favs
Morris made Orgo very manageable, providing you study. Tests are over EXACTLY what you went over in lecture/notes. If she mentions it, more than likely it will be on the exam in some form or another. If you need help she is always willing to help. Recommended prof.
The majority of the ratings do not lie. Jill is a genuinely awesome professor. She is always willing to help you understand the material. She is a very student friendly grader as well, giving partial credit where deserved. My least favorite part of her is the fact that this is the only chemistry class she teaches. I'd take her again in a heartbeat!
Professor Morris was the best organic chemistry professor I have had. She explains everything clearly and does not over complicate. She give you practice test for every exam, including the final and it helps a lot. All the test are short answer but she prepares you well. You need to attend lecture or you will be lost, there is no powerpoint.
First off, Professor Morris is a savage. She assigned 5 online homework assignments over break and only gave us one attempt to get them all right. She said in class "If you don't get it right the first time, you clearly don't deserve the points". She does not help you when you ask her a question. You also never know what the quizzes are on.
Prof Morris is amazing! You have to attend class and not be afraid of her! She is an amazing teacher and well prepares you for tests. Tests are fair and she always puts up two practice tests online before each exam as practice. Would highly recommend her to anyone!
Professor Morris is easily the best professor for organic chem. She adjusts her grading scale so a 90% or higher is a A. She provides old exams for students to look at and practice, *DO THESE. Go to her office hours, she likes to know that you are trying and will provide help. She really wants all her students to do well, 10/10 recommend.
Professor Morris is a really great professor! I learned so much in her class. She is amazing at explaining things thoroughly. I never missed a lecture because I was too afraid of missing something really important. You cover a TON of material during lecture and I would advise to never skip her class. Tests were pretty tough, but not impossible.
Jill was a GREAT prof. She is honestly one of my favorite profs to this day. I was so worried about Orgo and heard bad things about it, but she made the class a lot easier. I also has SLA which is a structured tutoring class and that was amazing. Her exam review guides are almost exactly like the exams. Go to office hours, she is awesome!
Best professor I've ever had. She made orgo very doable and I wish I could take her for all my classes. If you do the practice exams and read your notes you'll do great! Hard to approach but very helpful if she likes you. She's really great.
Morris is who you'd want to take for Orgo! She's sassy, but not rude. She offers old exams and they're very similar to the ones you'd take. You just have to go to her for the answer keys. Don't wait till last min to ask questions, don't slack off, Orgo is completely doable w/ her! I wish I could have her for all my science classes
Her notes are super organized, which helped immensely with making things clear and easier to understand. She makes it very clear what you need to know for tests and quizzes. Previous exams are available for studying and she has the keys. I would definitely take her again. Recommend having a tutor just because its helpful with little things.
Prof Morris made organic chemistry a lot less miserable than you would expect. She was organized and lectures were easy to follow. Practice exams were available from previous semesters which mirrored the exams we took. There were also extra worksheets and practice problems. Put in the work and you will be fine. Don't bother buying the book.
This class can seem daunting, but she gives you all the tools you need to succeed. She even provides old exams for students to practice from that are basically what you will receive for your tests. All in all if you fail the class its your fault not the professors.
She was such a great professor! She knew what she was talking about and provided plenty of material to ensure you do well in the class. The content is difficult but she does a great job of teaching it in a way thats easy to understand. I would definitely take her again
Take her! Orgo is very hard and I thought I was going to fail but Jill helped me a ton and was super helpful. She may seem scary at first but she gets to know everyones names and is willing to help! If you put in a lot of effort she will help you in the end. Study the practice exams she posts!!
Only tests you on the types of questions she provides in homework (not online, those are harder) and quizzes/discussion packets. Kinda sassy but really good at explaining. Only took attendance 4 times, I think for EC. Gives SO many resources to help prepare for the exam. The only thing that sucked was the online mastering chemistry assignments.
Middle of the road lab professor. Tough grader but does play music during the lab session which makes the 3-hour block somewhat bearable
Very intimidating at first, but overall a super nice lady. I did not do well on the first exam, but she reassured me and helped me bring up by grade a ton. Good at explaining concepts. Do all the extra practice examples she gives you, especially practice exams. Homework helps boost your grade and she is very clear what will be on the exams.
Decent lab professor, will help you if you ask questions. Plays music during lab which is nice. Hard grader especially on abstracts but if you email her before the lab is due, she will check it for you. Would take her again!
She wasn't too awful for organic chem. Her exams were very very hard though and were too long for a 50 min. period. She knew what she was doing, however she's not very approachable and not accessible outside of classs (she told us she didn't want to come in during exam week to answer questions, but she would for a couple hours ONE day)
Prof Morris is super sassy but if you really understand that its not to be cruel and just to be funny you will enjoy her so much. Compared to other organic chemistry professors she is extremely reasonable and you know exactly what to expect on exams based on her homework assignments and lectures. Love her and wish she taught 242!
By far one of the most amazing profs ive ever had. Super organized & makes organic so easy to understand. Sassy but willing to help, go to office hours. Study the notes everyday, do the practice exams. If you put in the work you can get an A. Absolutely love her wish she was teaching orgo 2. highly recommend.
Jill is a very caring professor. She seems very blunt at first, but it grows on you. She gives you stickers if you do well on homework and tests. Study and do the homework (without CHegg) and you'll be fine. Be prepared for long tests, you must be confident in your knowledge to finish on time.
She has amazing notes! You can tell she really pays attention to her students and how they learn best. She always asked for our feed back and will happily further explain anything if you asked. Very approachable and wants to see her students succeed.
AMAZING prof for 241!! i have changed my whole winter schedule around just to be in her 242 lecture. her notes are so easy to follow and she prepares you so well for exams. although her exams are long, you get used to them after the second. she takes her time to learn everyones names. she many come off as unapproachable but she's chill 1-on-1
Makes you work but explains well.
I had Professor Morris for my lab. She is hilarious and helps you out whenever you need it in the lab. Sadly, she is a hard grader. So if you just put a little bit of extra effort into the class you should get a good grade. She also plays music during the lab which makes it really fun!
Remember when we had to do everything online bc of corona?? Well, she SUCKED. she gave us a ton of homework and 5 more exams. The final exam was over 241&242 and she refused to tell us what material we should focus on studying. You are given a ridiculous amount of stuff to do on the exams with barely any time to finish. Basically, she is awful.
Professor Morris is a very good professor all around. She gets to know her students within the first two weeks and answers emails within a few hours. The only reason I got a B in this class was because I did not prepare well for the tests and COVID kind of screwed me.
I had Morris for 241 last semester as well and she was wonderful, but as soon as we went online the class became complete chaos. She did not update her syllabus until AFTER the extended drop date (I reported this to student affairs and they did NOT care), she provided 0 sympathy for those struggling online. If we are online in the fall, switch.
Orgs is a hard class, she did great teaching it in person. When classes were moved online, this class was absolutely horrible. She was not considerate of other classes or what situation we were in. She rarely responded to my emails and was never understanding. I would take her again if it was guaranteed to be in person, but never again online.
I definitely think she's one of the better chem profs here. Her lectures are informational and she gives 2-3 hw assignments per week but they really help you learn the material. She's a prof that goes over class time EVERY class and sometimes she tells you, you need to know something for the test but doesn't teach it, so those parts are self taught
She does not care about her students. She would rather be lazy than help her students. Responds to emails fast. No extra credit. Lots of online and paper homework each week. Morris shouldn't be teaching. Maybe high-school, but not college. I don't think she understands everythings she teaches.
I absolutely loved Professor Morris! She's very through on making sure you have lots of opportunities to practice w/ hand-outs, ability to re-take connect assignments for practice, practice exams etc. Her lectures and notes are understandable, and she'll even use different colors for clarity. 2 assignments due weekly and exams about bi-weekly
Professor Morris is one of the best chemistry professors I've had! She made organic seem super easy and could explain everything in a simple way. Some questions of the HW had almost nothing to do with what we learned in class, but it's easy enough to figure out. The exams are straight forward and she gives plenty of materials to help you succeed.
I graduated GV a couple years ago and am now a scientist. Some things i learned, i actually dont need to use and so my memory on certain topics isnt the best. I can say that Morris is a fantastic prof to have. She knows her stuff, explains things very well, and because of the way she broke things down i still remember orgo even though i dont use it
Prof. Morris was okay in my opinion. I appreciated her organized note guides and her practice tests are extremely similar to the actual tests. She gives feedback on the weekly homework which is helpful. There were two essays which were easy points. Overall, organic chem is tough but if you study a lot and go to class you should be alright.
Prof Morris is an overall pretty good teacher. I only had her for chem lab, but I enjoyed the class. She does go through the lab procedures a bit fast and is a tough grader. She is picky about all the little things, so double check all your work before submitting!! She helps you out when needed, however what she says can be unclear sometimes.
Prof Morris might seem intimidating but she is awesome and has a great sense of humor. She cares about everybody in the class. My class has 118 people in it and she knows most of us by name. She absolutely will not hand out free A's but she gives plenty of resources to help you ace the class - you'll have no problem if you put time and effort in.
Jill was a decent teacher. She did rush her explanations, but she was happy to help if you asked. You're going to need to try in any lab, but her class wasn't terrible. She may seem scary at first, but she's nice if you get to know her. NEVER forget to bring your googles or textbook or you will be kicked out. Don't be late either.
Prof Morris has a bold sense of humor and she says some out-of-pocket stuff sometimes. I never really liked her that much as a person but I did learn a lot in her class and she is probably the reason I did so well. This is a difficult subject and she does fly through the lecture notes kinda fast. She is very specific about the answers she wants
Overall pretty decent prof but makes things harder than they need to be sometimes. Was discouraging before one exam saying most students do bad on it and then proceeded to make it twice the length of every other exam. Posts practice exams but only opens the key for a few hours the night before and you're not allowed to save it or take pictures...
Shes nice and willing to help. Heavy tests, like 5-6 pages for 50 minutes. Still give out homework (both online and offline in Final week). Does have practice documents but the keys is wrong sometime so its very confusing. Never reply email (or probably just me).
online homework (lengthy and not helpful bc formatting is weird) and hand-in homework (very helpful for tests). Practice worksheets & exams are posted as well as packets done in discussion. Keys tend to have errors but you can just ask her about them. She's really funny and gives out notes you fill in during lecture. you def need to work for an A
I loved having Morris for lab. She was very accessible for questions (in lab and outside), and was a prompt emailer. Morris has a dry sense of humor, but I thought it was a riot. Puts stickers on graded work that scores above 95% (: Nothing about how she graded was unfair especially since she was willing to answer questions before due dates.
I'm sorry but IDK HOW she has such a high rating. I've NEVER rated a prof this bad but she kind of deserves it. her grading was HORRIBLE!!!! I would write the SAME thing as my friend from a diff lab section and he got 100s and she was giving me straight Bs. Kind of rude to my lab partner as well. I did like the stickers tho
I do not know how this professor was graded so great. She was terrible, I don't know about lab, in discussion, she was fine, but lecture?? Impossible. No textbook, no clear notes, absolutely nothing for when you miss a class and her tests were extremely hard. If more than half the class failed then that was on us. I advise not to ever take.
I'm not sure how this professor has such a good rating!!! I would NOT recommend this professor, her exams are VERY HARD, hand in homework and online homework every week as well as a quiz every week. NO help when you miss a class, have to get notes from someone in the class. Grading was absolutely awful. No curves no matter what. VERY LAZY
I was honestly so scared for this class but I thought Jill was a really good prof and I ended up doing really good. Everything for class is super straight forward. Just turn in homework on time and show up to discussion because there are easy 5 point quizzes to get your grade up. Honestly if you just take good notes and study them you'll be fine
Professor Jill is an amazing professor. There are lots of homework, but she is very organized and sends reminders out every week. This class is difficult, but her lectures are easy to understand. The tests can be difficult because they are all short answer, but she gives practice exams so you know what to expect. She is very knowledgeable.
The class subject is difficult, so personally I didn't understand it right away and had to spend a lot of time going over the notes. Professor Morris writes down the notes with you during lecture so it's easy to keep up. She wants her students to succeed and provides extra practice worksheets. Students just need to put in the time and effort.
Professor Morris cares about her students a lot! She gives a lot of material to help you succeed in her class. For example, for every topic covered she posts additional practice worksheets. Her tests are handwritten so it is easier to receive points. Personally, her homework is very beneficial but the mastering homework is not beneficial.
Organic chemistry is tough no matter who teaches but I enjoyed it with Professor Morris. Will answer your questions and gives you practice exams that are very similar to the real ones. Is great at giving you practice problems that get you prepared for the exams which are a majority of your grade. Would definitely take orgo with her.
I'm gonna be honest, this class was definitely challenging and required a lot of time and effort but Professor Morris did her best to make it bearable. Lots of homework, quizzes every week, and short answer exams. However, this was all beneficial, expect for the mastering homework in my opinion. This class will be a struggle but I recommend Morris!
She comes off as a little strict sometimes, but I found occasionally chatting with her and just being friendly made her easier to work with. She can be a tough grader but usually is very vocal about her expectations for reports/notebooks beforehand. Honestly, just listen to what she expects and ask good questions and you'll be fine.
This is organic chemistry. It will be very challenging. Consists of quizzes, exams, and LOTS of assignments. Mastering was extremely annoying. One of my minor complaints was that most of our assignments/papers had to be turned in on paper. Overall though, she was a great professor and taught at a good pace for students who wrote paper notes.
Morris made organic chemistry really easy. The online homework isn't helpful at all for tests but her own homework sheets and practice problems are really beneficial. Takes good notes and sets clear expectations on what you are going to be tested on. I never had a problem with being thrown off by new content on tests.
This is by far the worst professor I've had at Grand Valley. I can respect a strict professor, but this is way beyond that. I've always been a very good student and my grades reflect that. She tries to make it impossible to pass orgo 2. She also gives the most boring lectures. I would recommend avoiding this professor.
I would never take her class again. If you can, SWITCH OUT! She said on the very first day, that she is "lazy" and doesn't do extra credit. She will say one thing and actually mean another so if you think you know what she is talking about, you are way off from what she actually means. 0/5 stars fr.
She's the toughest, most pedantic grader ever. She has the worst attitude, especially about lab, and is extremely unprofessional. Class averages for most exams weren't passing scores. Expected to know an insane amount of material with no guidance whatsoever. Spent most days in the CSC to get real explanations bc her lectures were unhelpful. Avoid!!
The worst professor I have EVER had. I passed orgo 1 with flying colors, and could barely pass orgo 2 with professor morris. She is awful at teaching and extremely condescending. She gives you a study guide for exams, but you can only see the answer key if you go to her office hours. Exams are close to impossible, no matter how much you study. RUN!
Organic chemistry is a very hard class, and people often base their opinion on the professor by difficulty level of the class. Prof. Morris was great. She teaches you what you need to know, and if you don't understand it during lecture it's your responsibility to put the time and effort towards it outside of class. Would 100% take it with her again
I would search for other options for CHM 242. Hopefully the first and last time I will ever experience a professor like this. Hard work did not pay off in this class. It was a waste of my time.
Do select another professor. Professor Morris is a harsh, harsh grader. Her lectures are boring and redundant because she rewrites out her fill in the blank notes and is a waste of time. She is also condescending towards students, so I recommend not trying to answer questions in class. Lack of enthusiasm she shows makes it hard to enjoy this class.
Morris has lecture notes that you can follow along with which are very helpful and the hand in homework's are always very similar to the notes and the exams. The online connect homework was ridiculously difficult for no reason. Morris has a great teaching style but not a great attitude towards her students as she is pretty condescending.
I had professor Morris for my lab. She was okay, although I hated how long her pre-lab presentations would take. She would literally talk for 45 minutes about how to do the lab and leave out the actual important parts (how to work the machines, how to dispose certain chemicals, etc). Other than that, she was a bit of a tough grader.
Morris gave very thorough and helpful notes the whole semester. She explained concepts for everything and although the online homework was tedious, it was helpful. She is very to the point but I wouldn't have taken another professor for organic if I had the choice. If you have her, be prepared to still study hard but she makes it so much easier.
test are WAY too long for 50min. extremely hard grader. go to class or you'll be lost. extremely passive aggressive when asking questions and doesn't really care about students. goes off on random tangents no one cares about. get a tutor if you want to succeed. she has potential if she wasn't so rude and boring. if you can, I would avoid her.
She was my lab prof. Very passive aggressive and condescending when you asked questions. She also would spend so long on the pre-lab stuff when it wasn't really relevant. A bit strict with the abstracts too.
This class was awful. It was easy at first but as it went on the course itself got harder and her teaching didn't help. She gives lots of homework and with lab it is time consuming on the homework side. After I dropped the class half my homework load was gone. Tests are also awful. Half my class didn't finish each of our tests. DO NOT TAKE HER!
Tough grader. Extremely passive aggressive and condescending towards students. If you want to succeed, go to class or you'll be lost. Goes off on random tangents no one cares about. Never is in a good mood and is not helpful at all. save yourself the headache, DO NOT TAKE HER!
I had Morris for labs/lectures. She is a good professor. There's a lot of room to make your grade, with homework and assignments that end up helping your grade a lot. She is accessible out of class as well. My only fault is it is hard to get the study guide answers or resources without going to her office hours. For busy students it is difficult.
I had her for CHM 241 lecture. I loved her teaching style but she was a little intimidating at first. Tests were fair and there is a lot that is incorporated into your grade to help boost it. My best advice is going to office hours and asking questions on the weekly hand in homework since she grades pretty tough on those. Overall good professor.
I do think that her notes and lectures were very good, however her personality just was hard to get used to. She would sometimes sound very condescending, and her exams were very long that it made it almost impossible to finish. On the positive, there is a lot of additional workload that can boost grade, and the grading scale is helpful.
Professor Morris has a specific teaching style, but engaging with it can be rewarding. The coursework is challenging, but using resources like unstuck study along with the textbook makes studying more manageable. Just be prepared to work hard in this class.
Jill is a very lazy professor and she is not passionate about teaching at all. Her exams are incredibly long (five pages!) and we are given a 50 minute time limit. She also gives a hand in homework AND Connect online homework every single week. I got an A in the first semester of organic but I doubt I will do well with this woman.
She's not a very likeable person but shes a GREAT prof. This course takes a large amount of time and effort. Very effective at communicating course material and expectations. Do not skip any lectures and go to her office hours for practice exam keys!! She is much friendlier 1 on 1 than in class. I highly recommend taking her for orgo 1.
Jill's wise words once said "only 1 more day of this torture" this class is just that. She's a goober and has almost no personality but then says the most diabolical things ever. Every lecture is the same with her monologuing. gives great practice. Exams too long. keeps class late. If you are reading this jill i hope they give you more vaca days.
She was just not passionate about what she was teaching, she would make comments that she didn't want to be there often. She also gave me the wrong final grade and I had to email her to fix it. She never did practice problems in class which is VERY important for this course. I also had her for lab and she was often condescending.
