Great teacher! I would recommend her to anyone!

She loves it when your original, and she is very respectful. Wonderful teacher.

Fun, helpful, and interesting. Great teacher overall. Her online lecture's were well done and she takes time to respond to all questions. She splits the class into 4 parts. The first 3 parts end with an exam, which is 6 essays each. I felt that was a bit extreme, but I still managed a good grade. The last part is a project paper.

What can I say? GREAT TEACHER! She was a little shaky at first but she has been one of the best English teachers you could ask for. She is very energetic, enthusiastic, encouraging, and keeps the class exciting, fast moving, and liveable. If I could, I would have her teach all my English classes.

I was in Dr. Onega's online class and she was wonderful! She replied to emails generally first thing in the morning (around 7am). While she was some times not clear on what she was trying to say she did not mind me asking for further clarification. She was also very understanding when I had a fam emergency. Love her!

I have had Ms. Onega four times for different English classes. I LOVE her! She is awesome. She loves to help everyone. I love the way she encourages people to think. You have to think on her essays, but I like it better than a test. I would love to have her for every English class. I encourage all to take her. She does well in class and online!

GREAT teacher! She helped everyone out, she is very energetic and loves her career. Her lectures are entertaining. She is very high strung, so if you don't like a high energy level early in the morning,don't take her 8am classes! overall, Excellent teacher. I didn't make below a A- on any of my work.

I had Dr. O for 2 or 3 classes and loved her. She is a great teacher and passionate. Her classes are not easy, but well worth the effort. She is one of my favorite teachers at Calhoun.

Dr. Onega, is a good teacher, makes everything clear and it should be an easy grade. She is high energy and enjoys class participation. Essays are fairly structured but there is room to show your creativity. She enjoys teaching and that makes a good teacher. I will take her again next term.

Taking this course was very eye opening. You learn a lot about yourself and your writing. Dr. O really helps you if you're unsure of the assignment and even lets you modify mistakes before grading. She's very helpful! I didn't like English much before this but now I can't wait for ENG 102

Dr. Onega was extremely nice, and helpful. She commented on papers writing exactly what needed to be changed, and wrote positive comments as well, that pointed out aspects she was impressed with. Although I hate English composition classes, having such a great teacher made it bearable!

I took the class online and it was pretty easy. She was not a hard grader and she always gave instructive and pretty prompt feedback. She seemed legitimately excited to teach. I thought she was a really good teacher

I love Dr. Onega she was always fun to hang around and she did not mind helping people...she allowed students to speak their minds verbally and in writing and allowed you to choose any topic you want for paper. I enjoyed her I highly recommend!!!!!!!!! I even took her for english 101 online

She is an amazing teacher! I highly recommend her on every level of writing. She is always there to talk and answer questions and makes her assignments very clear! Sometimes her lectures are a bit lengthy and wordy so it can be confusing, BUT she only does that to help the students to better understand. If you take ENG101, take her class!!

Loved Dr O . She grades quick and tells you what you did wrong. She will help you if you have a problem but you have to ask other wise she has rules. I would take her again for 102.

If you paid any attention at all in your high school English classes, Dr. Onega's English 101 class will be a piece of cake for you. Even though I took the class online, she tried her best to replicate an in-class feel, weekly discussions, quizzes, and five essays including the final essay. Great teacher, and easy A so long as you do the work.

Great class and great teacher. As long as you read and do the discussins, it is not a hard class. 3 multiple choice tests and a reflection essay. I had Dr. Onega for freshman writing and i will defintely take her again for another literature class.

I took Dr. Onega's mini semester class online. Dr. Onega is a great professor and is very sweet and encouraging! There 3 tests, one 2-5 page essay, and several discussion boards. Tests aren't too difficult, but I do suggest researching some of the topics and readings before taking the test. I would definitely recommend taking Dr. Onega's class!

Prof Onega is a great teacher. I took this class as a 1st mini-mester session. If you follow directions and do your best, you should pass with an A. I'm planing on taking her 2nd English lit class this summer. The text book for this course is mandatory, although if I remember correctly, you could probably find the lit texts online.

I loved Jill Onega! I always looked forward to going to her class. She is hilarious and is a really good teacher. Even though she was pretty easy she still taught well and I learned a lot.

I love taking classes from Dr. Onega. She clearly lays out what is expected, and if you follow directions, she is a fair grader. Dr. Onega is an amazing, generous, loving, fantastic person. She makes announcements fun and upbeat and I always laugh when reading her assignments and announcements.

I took Dr Onega's English 101W course and it was one the best English classes I've taken. Her assignments seem intimidating at first but eventually, you get the gist of what she's asking for (because she makes everything understandable). Passing her class depends on how well you do on the three primary essays and the Final Exam Research paper.

Dr. Onega is a fantastic English professor. I learned a lot from her and really enjoyed the class. She is kind and encouraging. She isn't exactly an easy A, but if you do the work and present your unique opinions you will be rewarded with good grades.

I took this class over the summer. Only had 3 assignments, one due each week. and only took 2 exams, which aren't hard at all if you study the study guide and read the notes. you can be exempted from the 3rd exam if you make a 12 out of 15 on the last assignment. I finished with a B+ with very limited effort. Couldve been an A with more effort.

She is so positive and always provides feedback with discussion posts. Her questions really make you think and you can tell she genuinely loves to read our answers. I normally don't enjoy English classes, especially online, but she makes this class fun and interesting! I will definitely take her for English 262.

Dr. O is the best! She really cares about her students, makes sure they truly understand the material, and responds to messages quickly. Weekly paragraphs are fairly easy and she gives bonus points if you write them well. Reading is heavy but not difficult Offers extra credit and gives the option of exempting from the final exam if you have an A.

Take her! When people say she really cares, she does. She also allows you the freedom to write about what interests you. I wrote about Black Lives throughout my semester w/ her bc that is what I care about. She is fair, constructive, and, most of all, encouraging! Never had a better English teacher. This is why they call her Doctor. Lol.

Dr. Onega truly cares not only about the content and lectures she produces, but that her students genuinely understand and succeed. She provides all of the tools the student needs to pass, and then some. She is passionate about her material and it is contagious. I have taken her twice and have thoroughly enjoyed her both times.

I had Mrs. Onega for British Lit 1 and 2 and let me say, she was incredible!! I was never strong in English because I am not very good at grammar, but she was amazing. I had both her classes online and she would give you very descriptive lecture notes, audio lectures, and great feedback on your work. I DEFINITELY recommend her! 10/10 teacher!

Very thorough for an English teacher. I would recommend her to anyone, just be prepared to spend some extra time on MLA formatting.

I would recommend her! She great at communication and giving you 2nd chance if you forgot to write the discussion board/forgot it was due (do not do it often). I took her for 1/2 semester. It was hard to catch up w/ my assignments and other classes. So please consider your schedule and time. You do read online. No books require for World Lit. 1.

Absolute loved her! Took her course online and still found it inspirational. She was the most involved professor yet, and gave amazing feedback. I have no problem writing papers, so honestly the course was pretty easy for me, but gave me the reassurance I needed. Would love to take any course she offers. HANDS DOWN 100% take this course with her.

Great teacher! During the minimester we only have 3 test and 1 was optional. There is also 3 dicussions but mostly to talk about the themes in the readings. I purchased the book but never used it all the text can be found online. Test were easy and mostly from the study guides she provides. She does audio lectures & i never listened and got an A!

Dr. Onega's class was truly great. I believe that she made me a better writer. She themed the class in such a way that caused me to think deeply about what identity is and what shapes our identities as humans. I would take her class again in a second. She's also a very kind person who cares a lot about her students.

the best pro. at calhoun and sweetest. I didn't pay attention in highschool English, but I did amazing in her class. She taught me so much, and I truly feel confident in my writing bc of her. No textbook required she gives you all the reading links and you have 3 essays plus a final research paper. She's a very easy grader & gives extra credit!

Dr. Onega is a super sweet, fair, and amazing teacher. She is very specific when she gives assignments and is always willing to answer any questions, making the class a lot less stressful. She offers an extra credit opportunity and gives extra points for good work. She is an awesome teacher; I learned a lot and absolutely loved taking her class!

Loved this class! Amazing instructor. This class really challenged me, but I feel that Dr. Onega prepared me for the challenges. I wouldn't say it is an easy A, but you can definitely get an A if you apply yourself.

Dr. Onega is very smart but talks to us like we are smart too. You write 4 essays about identity, one long, and easy reading quizzes and responses. You can do extra credit and it is easy to get at least a B. She grades fair and is sweet and fun. I am taking her for 102 when she teaches it.

Dr. Onega is great! I never met her in person but her passion for English radiates. The literature class I took with her was mostly reading and reflective responses. She asks for you to really think about the reading and relate it to the present. It made the texts more interesting to me and the writing more enjoyable. Definitely recommend.

I loved taking English 101 with Dr. Onega. Since I was a dual enrollment student, I was worried because I had never taken a college class before. Dr. Onega was a great first professor! Weekly T/F quizzes, reading, and essays. The topics were pretty easy to write about, but I wish I would've gotten my grades back quicker. She gives extra credit!!!!

Dr. Onega's class was very straight forward; I knew what was expected of me. She grades on structure and not opinion, so do not be afraid to voice yourself. I would advise taking Eng 101 over the summer semester, although it was pretty fast paced, you actually write less than the regular semesters. I also had the option of exempting the final!

Love her. Go above posted requirements and you get extra points. If happy with grade, she let us opt out of final test. Offered extra credit. Lots of reading but expected in English class. Discussion board post one week, test next- so 2 weeks to learn material for open book test. She has a real passion and it is clear from lectures.

Oh what a breath of fresh air Dr. Onega has been. Lectures and material are short and to the point. If you take her class serious and try to learn something you will leave with an easy A and a new standard for what you look for in a professor. All reading material was supplied by her via links and pdf. Take her, you will not regret it.

I voluntarily enrolled and comfortably passed three of Dr. Onega's classes (ENG 101, ENG 261, ENG 262). That should tell all you need to know. Overall it was an easy class to take, you do 4 essay papers and get a MLA book from the library for the course. You would for it but its an Easy A.

Dr. Onega is absolutely phenomenal. This is a teacher who will go the extra mile for you if you're willing to put in the effort. I don't even know how to begin to stress how much I enjoyed her classes, to the point where I would take more English classes just to work with her more academically and professionally. 10/10

Dr. Onega was my first college English professor, and she exceeded my expectations for an online instructor! Her Blackboard page is very easy to navigate, she offers a fun extra credit assignment, and she gave our class the option to exempt our final exam! I am definitely going to take one of her classes again if I can.

Without a doubt, this professor makes the class fun. You talk about concepts and walk away with some insight into English Literature. This doesnt feel like a class where youre here to just get it done, but she doesnt force you, she just makes it sound awesome. Awesome teacher, and very easy to get along with.

The BEST professor I have had so far. She gives broad but precise essay prompts and gives feedback for EVERYTHING so you can improve your writing skills. I have taken three of her courses and have passed every one with an A. In her feedback, she is constructive while making you feel you always did something right!

I really liked Dr. Onegas online ENG102 mini-mester class. Her rubric and instructions are very clear, and she is not harsh with grading essays. She is also really positive and encouraging. Relieved to have a good professor unlike my English 101 professor who made my life stressful for a few months. Definitely take this class if it is available.

This class seems to be one of the easiest english courses i've ever taken. As a long time hater of english, and the ways of teaching it; i loved this class. There were more research and opinion based papers and we only read on book which 90% of the population has read before. I would highly recommend this teacher and her minimester.

I took Dr. Onega for summer English and I absolutely loved her, she graded my papers quickly and always gave me feedback for improvement. The material at times might have been slightly boring but that is English for ya. 10/10 would take her again if I ever had the chance.

I am a high schooler taking these two classes over the summer for course advancements. Easier than any high school English class Ive taken. She grades very lightly while giving good feedback. She truly cares and values her students and she will do everything in her power to help you pass. I finished 101 with a 93 and 102 with a 104.

I absolutely loved Dr. Onega. I took her class for dual credit and she was super caring. She gives a video lecture of her reviewing the material along with notes that you can use when taking the exam. In addition, she provides amble opportunities to earn extra credit or points back. All you have to do is ask! Overall, if you can, take her class!

I had her for ENG 101 & 102 online minimesters and it was great. She's clear in what she asks in her assignments, and you really dont have that many. She doesn't make you turn in lots of busy work at all which I like but if you're someone who relies on filler grades I wouldn't take a minimester, you really only have a couple quizzes and the papers.

Professor Onega is the kind of person every upcoming college professor should strive to be! She is very kind with her words, clear and concise when giving feedback. Not too tough of a grader either! I enjoy this class!

Dr. Onega was a brilliant teacher! She offered clear approaches to material discussed for assignments and lots of assistance if needed. She provides excellent feedback on projects and always has a positive outlook! She also offered an extra credit option! Be prepared to read though.

Dr. Onega is an absolutely amazing professor, she's probably the best professor I've ever had, and she helped me realize that maybe I actually do want to major in English! I had her for American Lit. 2, and the class was really enjoyable. It really wasn't super hard, just read the stuff that you need to read and you're all good. Would 100%reccomend

Such a fabulous professor. I took her for a Summer mini semester and my only qualm was that the class was too short. She gives clear grading criteria and very specific feedback that is geared toward making you a better writer. She also meets you where you currently are in your journey and speaks to what is realistic and will help you improve.

She is a great teacher; she does not expect you to be an award-winning writer and actually cares about teaching you to write instead of expecting you to know everything. She does not focus on the format so much as she does actually writing. If you can take a teacher, take her!!!!!!!

I did not try as hard as I should have in this class, but she was still super sweet and understanding. Even though I turned in some essays super late at night that probably barely made sense, she gave me a 95 every time. She bumped my grade up to a 90 at the end (I forgot to do a lot of quizzes) she is amazing. I totally recommend!

Mrs. Onega was great! Her grading wasn't harsh at all and she gave amazing specific feedback for each essay. The readings were pretty straightforward and the only work other than the essays were a few 10 question quizzes. There were a few opportunities as well to write more personally/creatively, as well as some extra credit opportunities.

There aren't enough words to describe Dr. Onega! She is truly incredible and such a sweet person. She is the only teacher I've ever had that has actually made me want to write. Even taking her online course, you can tell she cares so much and wants everyone to learn and succeed! So thorough and sweet in her emails and feedback! Not harsh at all.

I enjoyed taking Dr. Onega's English 101 class. I took it as a mini-semester class during the summer. She was very clear in her expectations, always gave feedback, and was easy to communicate with.

She was really good when it came to giving back feedback on the essays that we wrote. Each week we would only have an essay and a quiz with reading material that ranged from 20-90 pages. She graded all the essays really easily and the quizzes were only 4-5 true or false questions. Definitely recommend taking her. I would take this class again.

So so so amazing. She's so caring. There was a time I accidentally submitted the wrong essay and she said it was totally okay and to submit the right one whenever! She only does 1 assignment a week. So easy!
