She gives A LOTTT of work, I took her class online. I thought that it was going to be an ok class but their was way to much work given and her grading was average. Maybe if it was a lecture class it would have been better. She wasn't online much to respond to peoples questions also!
Heavy work, lectures are boring(possibly due to subject nature), field trips were great, grading is fair, nice lady.
gives too much work for an online class. Doesn't understand we have social lives.
very fun teacher to have, very knowledgeable about the field i found her extremely helpful in class and very fair with the grading policy. i will definitely take her again for another course
Great teacher, knowledgable, fair and very interesting. Good communicator, very interactive with class. I enjoyed her class and am taking her in the Fall.
exceptional teacher knows her material interesting helpful and fair
good class, lots of work, funny, keeps class interestin, would take her again
best class - awesome prof.
different class, used game -was great experience, learned alot
ERP software, great class used book she wrote, guest speakers. tour maufacturer
AWESOME!!!
allot of work, cool class
cool, had many activities for class, lab work hard but doable, outside speakers and events for networking. Job offers and possible internships due to ERP experience. see need for this info hope for future oppotunity because of it
great class cool hard lots of work
hard work had guest speakers great, went to local company, wrote the book we use
fun simulation
lot of work experienced teacher good communicator would take her again
got a job because of this class and the professor
alot of work for online class
excellent professor
awesome class with 2 much work 4 summer. prof o a very fair grader, most participation from an online teach, best online class taken
took ERP class last semester and she just got me a job, pretty cool
Took her online class. It's a lot of work (300 level course) as most people have said, but its not hard either; fairly easy assignments. Just ask if you need help. I loved her class overall and would def take another one of her classes in the future! Great professor!
very good prof
fantastic, lot of work but fair grader, nice lady fun and insightful, guest speakers, tour, see need for info
good speakers- APICS and industry, tuff simulation. fair reasonable and worthwhile class, insightful teaching
Great
lot of work, good course
I remember thinking that ERP/inventory management would never impact my life. This course was directed towards manufacturing and I did not believe I would work in manufacturing I was thinking ERP systems would have little impact on my career. Having the skills I learned put me a step above the competition in getting my current job.
I took her operations management class during intersession. It was only 3 weeks long so I knew it was going to be difficult but there was a LOT more work than I expected. I felt like a lot of the work was "busy" work. She was very helpful when you needed her & a nice lady, but a lot of work compared to other intersession courses I have taken.
good class
Great class
fatastic,best prof
if you do the work youll get an A
Overall a great professor. Has a lot of experience. She is very easy going and if you submit the work you are going to do fine in the class. She is not a hard grader but you have to submit the work. Her instructions are always confusing and unclear but overall not a bad class.
She was a great professor! I loved her! She is so nice and helpful. Gives a good amount of HW but not too much. Test are fair. 3 tests 1 open book 1 take home and one in class. For my class final was optional. Very easy going. Has ALOT of experience in the business world.
Excellent professor with plenty of business experience and connections that she shares with the class. Fair amount of work that ties right into the class. Offers extra credit to encourage participation and enthusiasm. Highly recommend.
Best class
One of my best classes, great prof
She is such a great professor! She is so nice and helpful. She really does have a lot of experience in the business world. Her exams are fair. When she gives you back your exam you have the chance to explain to her why you put that answer for a better grade. Do the extra credits you will be fine.
The best experience
she is a fantastic professor... Take her.
learned excel and access
Wow this online class was the most interesting class, demanding but I learned soo much, prof always available, knows industry on LI and responsive.
Who wrote these other reviews? I am mid semester into this class and already had to write how bad this teacher is. No help. Online class is EXTREMELY demandin. Quizes every chapter, two part midterms, projects, discussions, homeworks, video quizes, case studies. All for 1 grade? Would never recommend. I'm an "A" student, but this class sucked.
On line class, mymislab is a problem,. a lot of work but doable with time to do it. was able to get responses when called- emailed, went to her office when needed. Had this professor for two other classes she is very good.
I think shes a great professor. Extremely helpful and super fun. If you have a hard time in her class reconsider school or your path on the educational route. She gave so many opportunities to achieve the best grade possible. always willing to help after class if you dont understand something. She loves her students. Great guest speakers come.
Best professor I've ever had. She cares so much about her students and helps them understand how the things we learn in class can be related to the real world. Gives a good amount of online homework. Reasonable grader. Her lectures are always so interesting and great quest speakers.
Understanding and approachable. Did not assign a lot of work. Was very flexible in regards to assignments based on what the class did or did not want to do. Test would have been difficult if they weren't open book. She cares about her students and tries to get them involved as much as possible. Offers a lot of real world experience.
Ok she gives A LOT of assignment for her online class; Chapter HW, Tests, Quizzes, & Final+Final Paper. Be prepared like most other class. She won't be using Pearson from what I know after this semester, which is good because it was horrible. But still. If you need her however, she picks up her phone and is always in her office! Take a chance.
very knowledgeable and fair grader
Took this class over the summer and online. It was demanding, many weekly assignments. However, she gave her personal cell phone number and email if you encountered any difficulty. I would take this class again either in the summer or full semester, but be prepared to work! Very fair grader.
Overall nice person and good professor.
Fantastic professor, fair
She is good. I am mid-class right now, and all I can say is go to class. I haven't been going and am taking the 2nd test as we speak, not a good idea. You go to the class, you will get an A. Simple as that.
She is a great professor. Although she seemed a bit lost when she was using the newer testing program, it didn't make the class that much harder. Would highly recommend.
She's an excellent teacher who really cares about her students learning the information. She takes classes on field trips to manufacturing companies and provides so much opportunity for students to get jobs while in school as well as after graduation. Would definitely take her classes again!
Interssession class, crazy workload, got an A. Professor available anytime. Pearson lab not bad. Too much work for online intersession.
tooo much work, doesnt she know we have a life....
A pretty good instructor; the instructions were usually clear and she was available to answer questions.
A lot of work, she expects us to do a semesters worth of work in a summer class. Crazy work load. She's fair - always responds. No extensions on anything no matter what. Tough.
ERP class, I now have a job because of this professor, great class -learned a lot about the Infor Visual ERP.
demanding class over summer. on time responses. good course
Online class, way too much work. She gets back to you in the hour. Knows her stuff.
Professor O'Sullivan is a great professor, one of the best that FSC has to offer. Her class is a lot of work, but it only helps you in the long run immensely. You have to purchase a textbook in her class bc you need to be able to access the online version to complete online assignments. She gives you a lot of opportunities to succeed in her class.
I love Prof O'Sullivan. Such a sweetheart, but I do not like the subject that she teaches. I would take another class with her because of who she is. If you are a computer major you will love her! Confusing grading criteria but she works with you, and she is very easy going. TEXTBOOK IS A MUST. 1 test, midterm, final. (Failed 2 and still got an A)
Online intersession, lot a work, responsive
She's a amazing teacher. She gives a lot of work, but she's amazing.
Professor is excellent.
Very good and knowledgeable. Responsive and fair grader.
Volume, gives assignments all the time. Good prof. easy...
homework all the time. smart, funny but a lot of work Provides opportunities, jobs, internships based on industry connections
This ERP class helped me get the job I have now as I graduated. Used ERP that many companies us locally. Used TEC which help understand how a company selecte ERP. Had guest speakers and went to a local manufacturer that uses this ERP who hires students from this class. Really helped to understand the importance of learning this. Best Class.
A descent professor, really knows here stuff. Offered me three interviews for jobs since I was graduating. Very good class.
prof is smart, offered internships/ jobs in class. like this professor, she cares about students, knows the local industry.
Most work online, but learned more than any other online class. Osullivan is a very good teacher.
great professor
tough class, lot of work, trips n job offers
Textbooks are mandatory. Not an easy A. Dr. OSullivan is the only professor I have ever had that truly gives you potential for future success. Class consists of field trips, stuff that can be put on to your resumé, and future job opportunities. The class feels terribly unorganized but she extends due dates and is really just a nice lady.
gets industry products for student use.
DON'T take O'Sullivan if you don't have extensive computer knowledge. She doesn't teach, won't answer questions and relies on the software to run the class. Tests are impossible. She's a good person, but she really doesn't care about this class. You will drown in work if you're unfamiliar with excel and access. I'm an A student and I struggled.
She relies on cengage for the class, and you have to complete the tasks how cengage wants you to or you lose credit. It's mostly just reading step by step instructions from your textbook for home/classwork. She gives lectures, but they're useless. The concepts section of the course is basic knowledge and pointless if you have any tech background.
work work work. good professor
fair but alot a work
great class, the best I took at Farmingdale, knowledgeable prof
Very nice woman but too much work. Expect 5 assignments per week. If you miss a class you'll miss in class assignments. Many problems with blackboard and due dates closing ahead of time. There was so much work during the semester that by the end I just stopped caring. Expects you to know access program which was not taught in prerequisite class.
yes a lot of work but very fair. very good teacher. one of the best classes I have taken.
more work than expected but an easy A.
Shes a great and knowledgeable professor. If she goes fast, you can tell her to slow down. PowerPoints are all online but you still need to get the textbook to access online work. Gives a lot of assignments but they are easy. Just be prepared to use Microsoft Excel and Access for some assignments
challenging, good teach
Not going to lie, I have had more work in her online course than I have in all my other classes combined, spent hours each week doing them and she doesn't accept late assignments BUT she is not a tough grader at all, very fair. Tons of work and a big final project but as long as you do the assignments an A+ is easily achievable! I'd take her again.
Don't take her if you have more than 1 class. Had more assignments with her in 1 summer class than an entire 2 years at Farmingdale(not kidding). Every 4 days 4-6 discussions post (reply,2x reponses). 2-4 homework assignments, 1 -2 quizes, then 4-6 pearson assignments. Not to mention 3 test, 2 papers, a final paper and project and a final test.....
Great class, easy grader, a lot of work for summer but if you follow the schedule its an easy A. She gives her cell so you can reach her anytime. Easy A but you have to work for it.
Summer 1, holy god, lots of work but easy grader. do the work on time an you'll get an A. I was able to get her basically anytime, responsive.
Easy A but a TON of work. Paper and PowerPoint are easy. Access problems were annoying but doable.
know her stuff
very good class
she cares. I got a job because of her. this class was the most important for me.
She is one of my favorite professors I've had at Farmingdale. She makes the work interesting and being the busy person she is, she always makes time for her students. Love her - definitely, recommend.
She is truly a sweet woman and personally I liked her but she gives alot of work so be prepared to work really hard with her. Grades easy. Easy A. if your a hard worker. Only the strong survive this class. I can tell you that.
lot of homework, assignments. very good professor
I took this class online during the summer. I ended up with an A but I think the stress of the class took years off my life. Professor is nice and responsive but the workload is out of control and the syllabus itself was not straightforward.
If you are a computer major youll enjoy her class. She likes to involve everyone and she could def help you land a job. However, if you arent a BCS major, beware. Tons of hw, and if you dont know how to use Excel or Access your screwed. Shes a fairly easy grader and generous with extra credit, but he sure to learn Microsoft Office beforehand...
I wouldn't take this Professor. She would take days to answer an email and would answer with a yes or no. She gave 0's because she couldn't open something. There were so many assignments due that you have to sit there constantly every single day. If you take other classes, you'll fall behind because you're main focus will be this class.
very tough grader, you can hand in a 100 but he will find a reason to grade you lower
Awful professor! She is a tough grader and will give you so much work that it is not humanly possible to do with other classes.
Easy Class. I got an A during the Summer while Taking Ethics and Western Civilization at the Same Session. Would definitely take again
too much work, do the work and you will get an A
always avail to help, had chats all the time to go over work, talked to me when I needed to better understand, good person, very good teacher
good class over the summer, lot of work, fair grader, responsive
The professor is terrible and doesnt explain more than once on how to use this weird program for class. she literally said to try again and again to complete our hw and she wont help us find the necessary stuff as it is in the help section. Might as well learn how to use the program myself. HOURS wasted on her hw. i cant do work from other classes.
Prof Sullivan worked with me outside of vlass to help me with learning this erp. understanding and clear on instruction. I had to ask all the time and she always helpful.
This profess was absolutely one of the worst professors I have ever had. She will assign you 5-8 assignments per week and WILL NOT GO OVER THEM. If you have difficulty with an assignment, she will tell you to just google it and figure it out. I did every assignment and did well on the tests and she gave me a problem all the time. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
One of the best moves I've made at Farmingdale was taking this class ONLINE over the summer, it was such an easy A.
More con than pro. She gives hefty assignments almost EVERY class, & you must understand how to use the given ERP program to do the assignments and follow along in class. If you fall behind, she somewhat helps, but mostly asks you to use Google or use the help page in the program. She is NONRESPONSIVE in emails and hardly accessible outside class.
Tough but good teacher
Always avail, too much work. .
class used a erp tool local companies use, had guest speaker in class from manufact co, good useful class
answers texts n emails, caring, understanding, fair, anyone who says anything else didn't
Intersession class, lot of work, prof always available, had chats every two days, went over everything.
NEVER TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. She gives AT LEAST 7 homework assignments a week PLUS projects and papers. Well over 50 hours of homework a week. She spends all of class going over homework that was due the day before instead of teaching. I have more homework in this class than in my other 4 classes combined. This class will make you hate yourself
Worst professor I've ever had by far. She gives a disgusting amount of hw every week, sometimes she forgets to post it until a day before its due. She doesn't teach during lectures either, only goes over the homework that was already done. She is extremely hard to get in contact with also. I really regret taking a class with her, she is horrible
funny
good professor
too much work but great class
Before taking this class, I was reading all the comments in here, however I got a little nervous cause some comments were negative, but to be honest she's a great professor and a professional, it was a summer class, a lot of homeworks and a research paper ,but is a short session, I learned a lot and it was hard for me but I did it!
summer online heavy work but available, grading quickly, takes time to explain
Just hands you an ERP program for 30$ doesnt teach you how to use it and expects chapters upon chapters of work per week. Literally the most confusing class Ive taken up until this point. Avoid at all costs.
shows you how to do each answers step by step.
book/teach go over homwrk , read book, answers there, teach spends time outside of class for help.
very good
Never take this professor for the Winter Module. She is completely out of her mind when giving course work, gives no descriptions, short deadlines, enormous amounts of busy work and simply does not care about her students. She is the worst professor I have ever taken and does not deserve the rating she has been given. One word: atrocious.
I can't speak on taking her during the spring or fall. However taking her during the winter semester is brutal. Not suggested whatsoever unless you have no job and have the time to do all the work she gives which is about 3-4 different assignments due everyday. This does not include a capstone project. RIP to those that take her during the winter.
work, she always on, responds within minutes, chats all day, helps often.
responds, workload lots
I was really nervous of taking this course over the summer session especially after reading the other reviews. This class consists of two discussion posts, 2 quizes and few assignments every few days. It is alot of work but dont take any other classes with this class. You will do great if you do all the work!
I have received two job offers bcause of this class. Do the work and youll get alot.
The only thing more shocking than her level of incompetency is that she will blame her student's for it. There is no rhyme or reason to her curriculum, you will be asked to complete tasks that veterans in the industry would struggle with, after only a week. If she is your only choice: don't take her. if you have to: may god have mercy on your soul.
The worst Professor I have taken. Gives a disgusting amount of homework in such a short time span. Each week the class was assigned a discussion post, a quiz, simulation, and 3 assignments from the book all due in 5 days. Keep in mind it was a summer class. The workload is unbearable for some, especially if you have a life. PLEASE AVOID HER!!!!!!!
I have never had a worse professor. provides a ENORMOUS amount of homework in such a short period of time. Gives a lot of work for a summer session, which is excessive. I'm curious as to why she deemed this was appropriate. Every week, there are five days worth of assignments for us to accomplish. Some people cannot handle the burden. Beware !
In summer, there were quizzes, simulations, homework, and assignments (3 each, 12 total per week). 1 proposal paper due in the 1st week. At the end, 1 presentation, 1 research paper, 1 outline due. Workload is not intense but, not a laid back A. Professor herself is great and really helpful. It is a 300 level course so get ready to put some effort.
I agree with the last rate, summer is a full semesters worth of work, she does that. She always responds all the time, she provides her cell and answered all texts and calls I made, reasonable. A friend took the regular semester and it is the same work. I took this prof in another class and she gives a lot of work. but it was good.
Her online class layout is so confusing I feel like I spend more time looking for the assignments than actually doing them. The assignments are relatively easy when you do finally find them. She responds quickly, but her responses are really rude and confusing. For example, I contacted her regarding a late assignment and her response was "email me"
has meetings outside of class which i need- helpful.
lot of work but she responds quickly if I have a question
wow reasonable, not bad, after some of the reviews I did not know, good class.
She's a very knowledgeable woman with teaching about businesses and their manufacturing processes, and describes the content great with personal stories. A bit unorganized though: sudden & multiple assignments due at once, multiple times-- and assigned with not enough time either. Included video tutorials are very useful to navigate Acumatica.
Everything about this class was confusing. It's so difficult and she barely helps.
She gives you more than 5 assignments a week and overworks you. She makes it seem like we don't have other work to do from other classes. I took her online and her work is so unorganized I never know what is due or where to submit it. Her assignment instructions are so vague I never know what to do and she gives very dry responses. Don't take her.
She gives much time for assignments, goes over all of them. Let's us resubmit for additional credit. Helps with understanding what we are doing. Brings in guest speakers and provides alot of time for all work.
Please don't take her!!!!!
she knows the material, has guests, provided many tries, avail and responsive.
good class, really fair
Professor definitely cares and is there for students when they need help. She can go fast during lectures but if you ask her to slow down or repeat herself, she will. She does teach difficult material, but she cares for her students and tries her best to make sure no one is left behind. Highly recommend.
Intersession, lot of work, available anytime, opportunities, liked the class
Very fair, let us make up work. Had industry exec in class and took us to manufacturer, got badges and job recruiter in class. .
A really caring professor with lots of industry experience. Does lectures relevant to the field. Wouldnt say the class was super hard but she does assign a lot of work. I have to give a lower score because of how unorganized her Brightspace is. I missed assignments constantly just because it wasn't clear what was due. I wasn't alone in that either.
available when i needed, lot of writing, fair grader, let makeup, problem w team
Do not take this professor for a summer course. She gives an insane amount of workload even for a summer course. Her Brightspace layout is so disorganized. Good luck trying to find the assignment. Steer clear! She also deletes the modules after they get submitted so its impossible to know feedback and study for tests. Do not take her!!
allot of work for summer but she gives make for everything, easy if you do the work
Summer course work intense but doable, she gives time to makeup work, fair. Not bad. knows her material, much experience in this.
got a job with the certification badge I got in this class, great starting pay.
The professor is helpful and responsive, but the workload is quite heavy, especially for a summer session. Using unstuckstudy alongside the textbook helped me stay organized and on top of the assignments. Overall, it's a challenging but rewarding class.
I have her for BCS300 online course and it's homework heavy, big final project, discussions every week. she's accessible by email or text pretty quick. do the work and you'll do well
BUS300 summer course- she's very accessible outside of class and cares about her students, willing to help but trying to find the assignments was confusing. They were under 3-4 diff categories, discussion posts, video case studies, pearsonMyLab, and regular assignments on brightspace. The workload can be hefty but its expected for a summer course.
Knowledgeable professor. Took for a summer course. Taken summer courses before, nothing with a workload like this. Reached out about a family emergency and got no response, missed an assignment because of it. Asked if I could do an alternate assignment or extra credit. No late acceptance so I got a 0 for it. To me that was a slap in the face.
Professor is nice, if you actually try and dedicate urself you'll be fine. ASK HER QUESTIONS!! There is a lot of homework but managing your time wisely will help you. Keep communicating with her!!!
summer workload insane but she's on virtual meeting every day, responded quick
Dr. O'Sullivan is a kind professor and a fair grader. However, the weekly workload can be heavy, and the Brightspace course layout is somewhat disorganized and difficult to navigate. Her communication with the class is adequate but could be clearer at times. Completing assignments on time is important for success in this course.
The workload is a lot, and the Brightspace layout is rather disorganized. However, Professor Sullivan is caring, knowledgeable, accommodating, and rather laidback. Just put forth your best effort, be prepared for lots of work, and do ask her lots of questions! She's quick to respond and help out!
