She isn't an easy teacher, but if you work hard then you should do o.k. She is very clear with what she wants and isn't your average English professor. I would recommend her to people, but only if they are willing to work hard.

She is a good teacher, but she dresses like a school girl. If she wants respect, she should at least dress her age. She is going to be a married woman soon,maybe then she will dress like a lady.

She is a true gift to her students and is among the few teachers who actually prepare their students to succeed at higher institutions. If you wish to remain ignorant or are so shallow as to respect a person based upon attire, perhaps you should consider a lesser teacher. The class was delightful.

Great teacheer but you must work for your grade. Know the rules of grammar well! This is a very rewarding class if you are willing to do the necessary work.

Amazing. Simply Amazing. I'm an "English" type of person, and Mrs. Sebacher just blows me away: she doesn't just teach English, she speaks and understands the language like a true scholar. With a roguish wit, and an uncompromising clarity, I think the only thing I enjoy more than speaking up (have fun with that by the way), is being spoken to (and certainly never spoken at, as I feel many of my professors seem to do). Had also her for Prep Eng.II and passed it with an A - her teaching made me realize I was good at the subject and cou. The way she acts, the sarcastic sense of humor she has, and her clarity of how she wants things done makes her class fun and easy if you put forth the effort to try your best at doing the work.

I really enjoyed her class, and I had my serious doubts about her at first, and thought she was too young to teach me anything about life, but she came through for us! The research paper is pretty easy, and she is willing to help. You will cover interesting topics such as careers, wars, and analyze both protagonists and antagonists, but it's fun!

Not an easy grader on papers,but is still fair,often gives homework,good at explaning concepts and directions,during class discussions she sometimes gets off topic and is hard to follow,has a good sense of humor, what she teaches is very helpful for writing- I recommend her class.

I hate english classes, and never did well in them until I had her! She teaches the best format for writing a research paper, thats worth taking the class alone!

I have taken her since Prep II Reading and am now finishing up in her comp II class. She is extremely helpful and is always wanting you to suceed. The best English professor you will find in Valencia. She's very concise and had amazing "gifts" of writing knowledge...If you need Freshman Comp2, try to get in her class. She's just plain amazing!! When class first started I HATED her 'cookie' format of writing! But once I got use to it..it makes writing SO much easier! Especially for research papers. The teacher is VERY helpful! You do have to work for the grade but not too hard..I would definitely suggest taking her. Just don't get intimidated with the writing at first!

To quite honnest, Professor S. was the most straight foward and concise Professor I've ever had. I would highly reccomand her for students who struggle with writing. The essays and homework are helping critical, but she takes a strong emphasis on class participation and attendance.

So i had Jill for 2 semsters now, hated writing any kind of paper until i stepped into her class. she is an amazing professor and super easy. just do the papers and you'll ace the class. Plus theirs on 2 exams the whole semster and their super easy right out of the 2 pages she gives you all semster!

I hated her at first because she seems like a hard a$$. And, don't get me wrong, she gives you a lot of work. But you will like the class if you take her. If you want an easy A stay away. Even though she is tough I would take her again!

Was in her ENC 1102H (honors) class. Very good teacher, knows exactly what college students want without just giving it to them. Some people say she's rude or mean/strict, but I don't notice. The class was pretty easy and enjoyable. Not a lot of homework. Easy in-class work. The teacher was kind of stuck up and rude though at times. The class itself was good but the professor had an attitude problem, I did not like her.

The class itself is not that bad, it's the professor. She is so rude, she thinks way too highly of herself, and she is extremely annoying. She makes everything a big deal and grades your papers very hard and subjective. I feel like she favors certain students. Don't take her unless you can put up with her mouth and want a crap grade.

The professors teaching style is good and straight to the point, she practically spoon feeds everything that needs to get done. Just show up on time, pay attention, and DO YOUR WORK, and this class will be a breeze. I could have gotten an A but I missed one thing. Hence DO THE WORK. It's mostly writing essays, it really isn't that hard at all.

I'm taking her again for intro to poetry At the beginning, she seems really strict and mean so she get her point across on how she wants things done, but once you actually get into the course she's really nice and always helpful! If you do what she says, you'll definitely get a good grade.

She's amazing professor, and funny. She's strict about her syllabus. Just follow her syllabus. All you have to do is work hard, pay attention & please be there on time. Also, there a short quiz(spelling test) & you will receive a bonus. She wants student to write more & prepare before comp II. She helps me to understand the concept!

I took this class in the spring of 2013 so my review is two years old but still relevant. This lady is cut throat (very blunt with how she operates her class). She does spoon feed her students in the classroom but homework involves many writing assignments so expect to spend time wring on paper and typing in a Microsoft Word document every week.

EASILY my favorite professor I have had. You must do it her way, but her way works. She makes it clear what she wants and it really helped me with my other classes too. LOVE HER. TAKE HER. And her style is on point.

She is an amazing professor, who cares about her students. She is very clear with assignment and goes step-by-step. Assignments are less intimidating than what they seem, only because she breaks it down (cookie style) to make it is easier. Strict attendance policy but for a reason. Don't disrespect her class policies, and you'll be just fine.

I have taken her and gotten an A for Comp 1, Lit 1000, and Comp 2 Honors. Make sure you do her work. It is so simple to make a good grade if you just give her everything she asks for. You have to work hard and attend every class but that is a given when you attend college. She will give you the tools to succeed for the rest of writing in college.

Prof Sebacher is such a great composition professor!! She explains everything so thoroughly and effectively. I went into this semester hating writing and left loving it. She teaches you how to better your writing and lengthen your papers easily. She helps you to not procrastinate by setting small deadlines. I'd take her again for sure.

She's a great teacher with very clear cut rules; follow what she says, and don't miss class. She has 3 papers throughout the semester and some quick spelling quizzes sprinkled here and there. Only minor gripe I had was she can be somewhat condescending when she talks to people, but that pales in comparison to her great teaching ability.

She is by far THE best English professor at VC. I've taken two of her classes. At first, her style is intimidating because it's her way or no way, however, once she breaks it down, it's super easy. She even makes research papers a breeze.

She gives off a horrid first impression of herself, and makes things extremely stressful. Oh, and be prepared to write about two pages or so after every class meeting. I leave almost every class with a headache how stressful it gets. Don't get me wrong, she can teach and I have a lot of respect for her, but really, spare yourself.

She was such an inspirational teacher. She truly does care about her students and wants them to succeed not only in her class, but in life. Take it from a person who has gotten straight A's in every class in high school, she really makes you work for it. Hardest class I have ever taken but it was so worth it. Learned more than just writing.

Professor Sebacher is very clear about what to expect from her class, and if you stick with her, you will find yourself in a class with a humorous, compassionate, and incredibly insightful teacher. She is fair and gives plenty of time to work on assignments. Sebacher keeps Comp 1 interesting. Just don't come to class without your homework!

Hands down, favorite teacher of all time. I would take every class with her if I could. If you hate writing, you might be frightened at first but she takes you step by step for all three papers that she assigns. Attendance and tardiness is HUGE but at the end of the day, it is fun to be there so it shouldn't be a problem. 100% recommend.

I was extremly afraid to do this class because of feedback I heard from a previous student, but I don't reject my decision to stay in her class. Awesome teacher, who cares about all her students. She is extremely clear on what she expects and how her assignments should be completed. If I could take every class with her I would.

Prof. Sebacher is funny and very well versed in her field. She is big into group discussions and participation matters. Grammar quizzes daily, 10 questions each. Light reading assignments each week for HW. I liked this class and it was a good course to take if you need to fill in your humanities credit for graduation, an easy A if you participate.

She is amazing. She has been the last class of my day for two semesters and it always flies by because she keeps us interested. Jill is by far the best teacher that I have had at this campus. If you are nervous about writing papers, take her! She eases you into it beautifully and makes it seem so easy.

I am ready to take her class for LIT 1000 because she was such a great teacher my 2017 Fall Semester. She let you know that you were going to have to bring your A game. You can't do this work at the last minute because it requires detail. Follow her directions and ask for help and you'll succeed. The overall best English teacher I've had so far. :)

Prof Sebacher genuinely cares about her students' success and loves her job. She is very clear with what she expects, does the writing assignments with the class, and likes to have fun with poetry. Be in class & always bring your homework. She has had a huge impact on my life and love of writing. I would definitely take her again. And again.

There is a bit of writing in your journal, but it is much easier than it seems at first. Sharing poetry together truly makes the class very close. She gives amazing feedback and ideas. It is a class that I would totally take again.

Absolutely love her. Was honestly scared to take her but shes very caring. 4 100 point papers and attendance is a MUST. Small homework assignments in between but she explains everything so as long as you listen to her youll pass.

Took Prof. Sebacher for both Comp 2 and Intro to Lit. She is an amazing professor and one of the best at Valencia. She is very by the book and a fair grader; meaning that if you have an 88.9 in the class, you have a B. Her discussions are a lot of fun and you will make a ton of friends by taking her classes.

This professor is really strict on grading, but she is amazing. She helps you step by step in essays & she really helped to build my foundation on essay writing. She's spunky & awesome, I wish i could take her for comp 2.

Best English professor that Valencia has. There are grammar quizzes at times. Strict on arriving on time. took for enc 1101,1102 and lit1000. if you have trouble with writing then its best to go to the writing lab and get help. she loves reading good papers. Put dedication into the class and you will pass.

She's pretty fair and upfront about what is expected and required. She's also thorough with her explanations and really pushes you to write well.

After taking this professor for several courses, I am confident in saying that she is a dear friend of mine. Sebacher cares about her students, but she is also a no-nonsense kind of person, so if you're not willing to work hard, don't even sign up. She taught me much of what I know about writing today and is so intelligent. I love this woman.

This class with Prof Sebacher was hands down my favorite class in college. You read and annotate mostly for in-class discussions and there is an optional creative writing assignment that the class votes whether or not they want to do. The readings are inspirational and discussion is very low pressure. She is very wise and insightful about lit.

listen. Be on time. Period. Shell give you mercy if you email her an hour in advance if you let her know you are going to be less than 15 minutes late. Have the book you dont really need the little seagull book however but buy the blue book in advance. Turn in every assignment, even if its incomplete do as much as you can shes very strict but good

Take her!!! She is the best English professor I've ever had! She makes every class fun while learning everything you need to know about english and writing at the same time! All the assignments and papers are pretty fun to do and you actually learn a lot. NEVER MISS A CLASS though. Overall great professor and I recommend her to everyone!

She works with you and helps you through any and all of your difficulties and gives classes many learning opportunities before being graded for a paper

She is so amazing,taught me so much and made me fall in love with writing. She gives you advice, and tips that you bring to other classes. She really does care about every student and treats everyone equally, and as if you are her own child. She's super easy to talk. Don't miss more than three classes or you'll be withdrawn. Her finals are easy.

If you plan on not going to class or not doing homework, this class isnt for you. She is an amazing professor but you have to be on top of things and do your best otherwise you will be withdrawn. To me the class was pretty easy, she is a really good professor, explains things well and tries to help you as much as she can.

Professor Sebacher was one of the most strict professors when you first meet her. She is very caring and sticks to her rules. Attendance is a must and if you don't attend three classes she kicks you out. She gives lessons that you can help you pursue higher education. She also takes time to read each paper thoroughly and gives you her own detailed feedback.

Shes a good teacher and all, but I mostly felt my creativity in her class falling short due to her high standards on what is good and mediocre. I also felt myself being slightly disrespected from time to time. Take her if you have thick skin. But if you have low self esteem, proceed with caution.

This professor is an expert! She is very inviting & makes learning fun. Shes strict but in a way thats only meant to help you. Anyone who wants to actually receive a good education in this course, this professor is the one who will do a great job. Shes really engaging & does group activities. Key Advice: Be on time ! Do not let these reviews fool you, Professor Sebacher was one of the best professors I have ever had. She is strict on her assignments and attendance; her rules have made me a better writer and well prepared for worse professors. She is funny, never boring, and an excellent help in and out of class. Take her, I promise it'll be worth it!

She's does a lot of group work and gives a lot of feedback but she's very strict with attendance.

Mrs. Sebacher is a wonderful teacher. Her essays are fun and creative and she gives you plenty of time to do them, as well as she gives her students the opportunity to receive feedback from their peers. There is only 1-2 assignments per week. She is a serious grader though, make sure you read her syllabus and rubric for assignments.

Ms. Sebacher was a very nice and easy going professor. The majority of all her quizzes were very easy if you take a look at the simple powerpoints, but even then she allows you to look at them while taking the quiz. Her papers are very creative and actually fun to write, and I'm not a good writer. No heavy workload, great teacher!

She is a great professor! She is lenient because of the circumstances going on right now. Her feedback is very helpful and she only wants you to get better at writing and really wants to help by giving great advice. Please take her if you want a great and fun Intro to Lit class.

Amazing professor! I cannot recommend her enough! She is a great teacher and makes the content easy to learn. I had her for Comp II and Poetry and both were excellent. She is encouraging, fair, and interesting. If you are looking for a teacher that will push you to be your best and a class that you will learn in, take a class with her!

This professor is genuinely so passionate about what she teaches and it shows! She doesn't make you do tedious filler assignments, all her assignments have a purpose and really help your skills grow. An average of only 1-2 assignments a week, very manageable work load. I can't recommend her enough.

Awesome teacher!! Highly recommend! Easy class to pass just follow instructions. No textbook needed! I took a mixed mode class so attendance was not mandatory. She is very animated and makes lectures fun, super light and manageable. She allowed me to bring my Daughter to class during a difficult time! Take her you wont regret it!

Professor made English fun, and gave alot of good, clear,. feedback. Her lectures were entertaining and the assignments made writing genuinely enjoyable, when before i hated the subject.

Professor Jill was amazing, she gives great feedback and the class is relatively easy as long as you keep up with your assignments. I didn't particularly love the fact that we had to do our discussions in video format, but note to camera shy people is that you can also present them in class. Great class, I'm glad I took this course with her.

A fantastic professor for my First Year Seminar who was funny and helpful. She was lenient and focused more on guiding us through our first year rather than assigning a lot of homework. However, she often canceled class, and we only met about half the time. Despite that, she was easy to talk to and a great source of advice.

Professor Sebacher is one of those professors who talks to you like a close friend. She shows A LOT of passion for literature and loves to share that passion with you. She makes you write pieces and present it as video or in class, as long as you are creative, she gives you a good grade. The hardest part of the course is that you read A LOT.

Professor Sebacher is a great professor and passionate about poetry. I wasn't a fan of poetry, but after taking her class, that changed. You're going to need a journal for this class and complete around 3 or 4 assignments each week. She is caring and offers one day to submit your assignments after the due date.

i will say this class expects u to alrdy be a solid writer. first few weeks might be rough, but once you adjust to her rubric, you'll be gud onwards. the writing center will SAVE your grade. she also explains every asgnmt in class. overall i'm thankful i took her class. her feedback was always on point and helped me become a more confident writer.

This class is all about letting go of control, which can be hard at first, but you get the hang of it. Professor Sebacher creates such a fun and safe space for creative writing in poetry, making it a great way to open up and improve creative skills. The professor is also helpful in publishing, so if you're interested, I recommend this class.
