Great professor.

Awesome teacher, class is really fun and pretty easy as long as you show up and do the work. She's down to earth and knows what she's doing. Definitly take this class if you're lookin for an easy 3credits

Sick teacher. She comes off a little hard in the beginning, but she softens up more and more as the semester goes on. No tests, just a final. Make sure you take the notes and participate. Final is all notes. Couple of small group projects, but altogether it was a really easy class. Just show her you're trying and she will work with you.

shes awsome, shes funny and down to earth ...she makes her class very interesting and easy to sit through...you will actually become very interested in what she is saying and shes not the hardest teacher either...i highly reccommend her you will not be dissapointed!

Had her for persuasive speaking. Overall a great professor and she is very knowledgeable. A bit of a tough grader, but you will be a much better public speaker because of her. I looked forward to going to class everyday.

What an awesome class. I took her for public speaking, and she was awesome. She makes class fun, and it was by far my favorite class of the semester. The workload is also incredibly easy. The entire class was fun, and we all agreed that we were going to miss it.

Nice person,sarcastic,kept class fun but do not take if you want an easy A in public speaking. She is sort of a harsh grader, not much oppurtunity to better your grade. Felt like she graded people who were comfortable speaking in front of the class much harder than those who were terrified of getting up for their speech.overall a good prodessor

She is very different amongst the rest and although she says shes not a ratemyprof teacher. She has definitely read the reviews now and then. She really channels out the weakness of each and every student and teach them how to over come their flaws in PS. She grades people to the ability she knows they can reach. Overall shes fair but tough grader.

TAKE HER CLASS. She is fair..she will make sure you understand the material..she is real. She will tell you how it is just as fast as she will compliment you. She is a character and I loved every second of her class!

BEST Professor EVER! extremely funny, extremely helpful, if you need to take public speaking take her you wont regret it. She is a bit tough and strict, so don't mess with her, but i am extremely happy i will be taking another class with her in the fall.

Professor Strahl is the best! I hate public speaking more than anything, but she made this class so fun and easy going. There's 3 main speeches all required with outlines and a bunch of impromptu speeches as well! She thinks of creative and fun topics or lets you choose your own with approval!

She's very passionate about helping students to become better speakers. It can come off as intimidating but she has such a cool personality that you can tell she's only looking out. Just make sure to prepare for speeches because that's what your grade depends on along with attendance.

She knows what she's doing and tries to bring out the best in her students. My public speaking improved a lot. She asks for three prepared speeches-you can use index cards-and one or two impromptu speeches. You get to choose what to talk about. The class is also involved in giving each other feedback. As long as you try you'll get a good grade.

I graduated from NCC a year ago/ I transferred to Marist College. To this day I still remember her. She legit changed me for the better. SO helpful, amazing best professor i've ever had. She made me become such a great public speaker. TAKE HER. She seems intimidating, but she will help you in the long run.

I'm taking her for small group communication and she's amazing. I took her last semester for public speaking and was very helpful. I'm not as shy to speak in front of people I do it with confidence now. Still shaky at first but I'm great now. Shes focused at the task at hand and makes sure you leave knowing everything. Shes not hard but u work.

Very animated, clear and hands on. Do exactly as she says when writing speeches as well as staying within the time frame given and you will get an A. Due to one of her first class exercises my class became cool and everyone enjoyed it.

She is so funny and makes the class enjoyable. Just go to class and listen to her directions and what she wants out of your speech. Easy A while improving your communication skills, all she wants to see is improvements...and if she does she said she will forget your lowest grade even happened! Take her you wont regret it.

Very clear on how she wants her assignments to be done. She gives detailed individual input. However, she hates "um uh " noises when people speak. Overall I like this class and feel it helps improve public speaking.

I love Pro Strahl, she challenges you and she doesn't take no im ready for an answer,Shes like the tough, Kool mom, that I always needed. Love her Her kid is lucky to have a mom like her,shes great at what she does.

I took her for small group communication last fall. She is, by far, the best professor in the communications department. I never had a professor who was so helpful and actually turned me into a confident public speaker. She is an amazing teacher and if you attend her class and do the work you will get an excellent grade. Take her!

Register for her for any class that she is teaching in the communications department. She is a fantastic professor. She is an expert in teaching Persuasive Speaking. I am now a fearless speaker. I think she only teaches this in the fall.

Honestly my favorite Professor at Nassau. I took her Public Speaking class back in the fall semester and loved it so much that I convinced my friend to take another class with me with Professor Strahl in the spring. She is hysterical and is clear and straight to the point with her lectures, I honestly would love to take another class with her!

I took Professor Strahl for Intercultural Communications. She is amazing. You learn to become a real professional speaker in her class, and she will give you an A if you show improvement from assignment to assignment. She is a credit to the communications department. FANTASTIC!

I loved Intercultural Communications with Professor Strahl. We had three assignments the entire semester. We had a group project, a paper and a final. You will get an A if you do the work and attend the class.

She is an amazing professor. I loved how engaging she was with the class. She is not a traditional teacher, she sits on the desk and lectures. Its completely up to you to take notes and to listen. There was a group project, essay and final exam so definitely pay attention. She is very open with her life and is able to relate alot.

I totally enjoyed this Professor, she tells it like it is. Don't show up and you will fail. Cares about her students and is hysterical. I wish all my professors were as cool as her. She will make you work for your grade, but she makes you feel comfortable and confident, gives amazing feedback. If you fail this course its your own fault.

I noticed an improvement in most of my classmate's speeches and I felt the same for myself. Very engaging, interactive class; I was very friendly with many of my classmates.

Such an awesome woman and cool professor. She's smart, funny, and tells it like it is. Took two classes with her at NCC and she even helped me out with a recommendation letter at my second college. Her classes are interesting and assignments are straight to the point.

She is the most down to earth person. She has a great sense of humor and she is very funny. She does not do powerpoints to teach class, so you have to take notes on what she says. There is one group project, an essay on a movie, and a final. As long as you put the time and effort into the projects, final, and show up you'll do fine.

Best teacher in my sems. Really laid back, tells it to you straight type of teacher. Loves too engage in small humorous talks with the student. No midterm or final. Just public speaking in front of your class. Just practice your speech 3 days before you present. No textbook, minimal note taking.

Informative and interesting class. She basically has the easiest job in the world because she doesn't have to do much for public speaking to be an effective course. She gives great feedback and I learned a lot although it was a nerve wrecking process. There were 3 graded speeches and then improvisation during other days. Fun and fair professor.

Professor Strahl is the absolute best. She is so intelligent and does not read off the textbook. She engages with her students and wants you to succeed. Attendance is mandatory and she is a fair grader. If you put the work in, you will do great. I would definitely take her again!

She's really passionate about her field and is a fun teacher. Only problem is her grading criteria is a little confusing because she doesn't give much work throughout the year. That means the stuff she does give is going to count A LOT. Make sure you're in class taking notes because that's where all the content for the final comes from.

I had Prof Strahl remote Covid 2020. Strong personality. Very fair. Makes you come out of your shell immediately. Impromptu nongraded speeches often. 3 graded outlines with graded speeches. She is sharp & takes no crap. Miss impromptu, or graded speech, you will fail. NO MAKEUPS. The 3 speeches are your graded exams. Use feedback & learn from it.

Took Professor Strahl's interpersonal communications class and loved her so much that I took her again for public speaking. Extremely educated on what she's doing and really wants everyone to do well. Very clear with what she wants and how she wants it, listen to her feedback and apply it and you'll do well.

You work for your grade. She explains everything the best she can and make sure that you understand what needs to be done. DO YOUR ASSIGNMENTS and PRESENTATION youll be fine.

She wants all of her students to improve themselves from the beginning to the end of the semester. There were 3 graded speeches and occasional impromptus where you wouldn't know if you would present or not. If you miss the day you're presenting a graded speech, you can't make it up. All in all, good professor with a clear goal in mind.

Professor strahl is hysterical and awesome. She cares about her students well-being both inside and outside of the classroom. Her assignments have VERY clear instructions. Follow her instructions step by step, show up to class, show you care about your grade and you will do well

She is clear when it comes to the assignments and she explains well, do your work before the due date is much better and less stress.

Great professor. Provides enough resources to complete assignments (no unpleasant surprises). Gives lots of time to complete assignments. Assignments are interesting topics to research on.

Professor Strahl will likely be the most laxed and funniest professor you will encounter at NCC. We were only given three assignments the entire semester (Fall 2022): straightforward essays. Show up to class, be respectful, and you will pass with a high grade. She's very genuine and a great teacher. I am glad I had her as a Professor.

Best professor I have ever had at Nassau. She has 4 assignments on average Her class isn't hard some group work. She has this laid back personality where she will probably finish your sentence for you because she doesn't like long stories, she wants you to get to the point. She loves putting people on the spot in a funny way. I highly respect her.

She's very straightforward and blunt so be prepared for that. The work load truly wasn't hard at all and easy to do. She's very strict about late work so you've gotta turn things in on time. Be prepared to take notes (she tells you what to write down) because they help with assignments. She's very funny and a great lecturer.

this was my first class online. I took this class because i had the professor for another class that i also rated here.. The class was really interesting and lectures were easy to follow, the course materials were really helpful and loved the documentary that started the course.
