Jim was awesome! He makes the class totally fun and easy to learn. There is absolutely no way not to enjoy his class. It'll probably be the best class I've taken in college!!

Jim was such a great teacher the first time i had him for theatre, that i knew he would be just as awesome as a speech comminucations teacher. He makes class fun and interresting. He's the only professor that makes me actually WANT to go to class.

Loved this class, it rekindled my love of theatre. You will know what's going to be asked of you in order to get an A. All you have to do is do the work and go to class. Even the big project isn't so tough. Plus he'll help you if you ask.

Took this class over the summer, the easist class I ever had, gave 2 tests and went over them, one project that took like 10-15 min. to do, and watched 2 films. Wants the class to call him Jim, and not Prof. made the class fun, eventhough U don't like the theatre. Best teacher I ever have.

Awsome Teacher! I wouldnt take anyone eles for Speech. 3 Speeches, 2 open notes tests, and some how I learned alot. He is really nice, and keeps your attention easily

EVERYONE loves Professor B and with good reason - he is a great teacher, and just an all-around nice guy!!

The absolute best prof. I ever had. caring, totally loves what he does and it SHOWS!Interesting, enthusiastic and so much fun! Learned so much from him.Also took his speech comm. class which was also AWESOME, if he had another class to take I would take it in a heartbeat! You go Jim!!!!!!!!!

Take during summer, gives 2 easy tests, very friendly teacher great class, if you don't do better than a B something is wrong with you.

Speech class with Jim. amazing. He's REALLY really nice, and his teaching is CLEAR. Notes are easy, tests are easy if you study...we only had 1. Speeches, as long as you try, are relaxed. He's SO nice. The kind of teacher you'd talk to outside of class. Awesome guy, really nice, and clear.

OMG!! He is simply the best! i had him for 2 classes speech and theater .. even tho in theater u have to put in alot of time .. it was worth it ! he is soo cool i got an A in both classes the test arent Hard Just take good notes and go to every class and u'll pass

Had him for speech comm. he was AMAZING. REALLY REALLY nice, very fair, helps everyone in class out, even the morons. Always available for coursework advice. grades things quickly, focuses more on the subject than making actual speeches...I think you do maybe 2, and one is a group presentation. Got an A+ and had a great time. DEF, take him.

what a great professor. loves his job and loves to teach. 2 tests and a 35% project. You will have to see two plays and write a paper on but thats purly subjective

Amazing teacher, with passion for what he does. Was extremely interesting, fun, and helpful. Makes the class go by quickly. I had him once a week but it was a 3 hr class and it would just fly by. Make sure you come to class and take notes. Midterm and final are very easy if you come to class.

He is by far my favorite professor, ever. If you have the chance to take him, then do so, you will not regret it. Class is easy, and the best part is you actually learn what he's teaching, and you enjoy it too. Even if your having the worst day in your life, go to class,i can pretty much gurantee that youll leave with a smile because he's so funny!

This Professor is so easy that all he has is 2 exams, 3 assignments and watching 2 of his productions.

This Professor is so easy, that all his assignments are the following: 2 exams with a study guide, a final project and 3 writing assignments. He makes you smile and laugh if you feel down and cry!

Jim is AMAZING! Take him,you will not regret it. Easy A if you do the few assignments he gives. He is funny and all around great guy! 2 easy exams, final project, and 2 or 3 papers on plays you see at the school. He is great!!

Prof. Bumgardener is by far one of the best teachers at Bergen. He is straight to the point with the information, his tests are easy, he gives a review sheet with the exact info on it, and the speeches are simple as can be. Unlike most classes, I feel like I learned here, and was able to keep up with the class, disregard my crazy schedule. TAKE HIM

Amazing! Not only is the class interesting but, you actually learn. Jim knows how to teach and makes the class lectures easily to understand and get involved. The speeches are a piece of cake & the open book exam is basically a few pages of notes he gives in the beginning.

The most amazing professor ever! I never missed one class and always looked forward to getting to class as soon as possible. He is a very handsome too ;) If you need a humanity or speech course, don't hesitate on taking him!!

I took Audition Technique. Very great prof. Knows what he's talking about. Extremely helpful!!!! And is such a great person... puts a smile on everyones face. not to mention he's extremely funny =D

Jim was an AWESOME professor, took this class as for Humanities credits and was not really interested in theater after this class I really took an interest in theater. He is so much fun and such a good professor I highly recommend him you will not be disappointed!! His final project was a lot of fun as well

Jim is the best ever!!! Take him for every Theatre class. If you are interested about learning musical theatre, than this is the right class for you. You will be watching movies from every decade and and about the decade they were written, than y ou will have fun in his class.

seriously the BEST history teacher ever!! he's amazing at teaching, hilarious, explains everything clearly and he's understanding when it comes to student's needs. I learned a lot in his class about theatre and he's the best teacher to learn from on this subject. the classes were fun and i would definitely take him again and recommend him.

Jim is the best! Love his class and he is really just the nicest guy ever. Just beware that if you are someone who doesn't have a lot of spare time he makes everyone in his class contribute at least 10 hours of work to the school plays (i.e helping put together set, ushering,taking a part set ect). But best class ever, take it if you have the time!

Best professor at Bergen. Anybody taking any theatre or cinema class must take him. Very lenient with attendance and really gives a great insight on musical theatre. I didn't like musical theatre until i took his class. Very easy A

Jim is 1010 good professor and good person. He is very clear in his lessons and easy to approach. Trans-positive, do not be afraid to correct him on name and pronoun usage if needed. Make sure to do your work and you will pass. Great with students who have accommodations, will not deny them.

One of the best professors/ classes I've taken at Bergen. He kept things entertaining and his assignments were actually enjoyable to complete. I highly recommend this professor! Even if you don't have much of an interest in theatre, it's well worth it.

Jim is incredible. I too his history of musical theater class during the summer just to fulfill a humanities requirement. I thought this class would be boring but Jim proved me wrong. It was so much fun and very entertaining. Jim has such a positive energy and always put a smile on my face. Take him!! You will not regret it and it's an EASY A!! :)

He is such a sweetheart! I hate musicals so the class was very boring for me. We watched a musical almost every class but HELLO?! what did i expect? lol overall he gives really easy i think 3 papers and 2 tests which one is take home. When i had trouble with my take home test i went to his office hours and he helped me tremendously! he is great!!!!

I took this class because I registered late but Professor Bumgardner is a good man and a great teacher. I was not into Theater although he made it interesting. I only recommend taking this class if you need easy credits or if you have an interest in Theater.

Easy A with no effort. He makes the class enjoyable. Assignments are very easy and no exams. He gives a final review which is the final. Take him if you need a easy class in your schedule.

I LOVE BUMGARDNER! He's such a sweetheart and is very passionate about Musical Theater. He tells you everything you need to do for each assignment. It is written out for you. Their is a mid-term and a final, he gives you a study guide for both and no lie that's your test! This was my only class on a Friday and I looked forward to it. He's amazing!!

Very great professor. The homework is super easy, tests are a little hard tho, but you can just use the notes for that. If you need an easy A, just take him.

If you love dramatic arts, you'll love him and he'll love you. You can tell he is invested in what he teaches and likes for his students to be too, however if you aren't one to love theatre he doesn't hold it against you. The class can get boring at times because of the history aspect but he does his best to keep it interesting. I loved him

Professor Bumgardner is such a nice guy - passionate, excited about what he teaches, excited about his students - and has an incredible amount of knowledge. Each class felt like story time, simply because of the way he gives over the information. Expects you to be there on time and hand in your work, but very easy grader.

Professor Bumgardner is a passionate and engaging instructor. His classes feel like story time, making the material interesting. While attendance is mandatory, he's an easy grader. I found Unstuck ai and the free textbook super helpful for acing this course.

One of the best professors to take if you are interested in Theater work. He is very passionate and will talk a lot about mainly theaters and plays if you are interested to watch them in the college. His assignments are easy if you read and put in the work. Only has 1 test and his final is up to 10 parts which will be long to take.
