Dr. Jordan is DA BOMB!! His stories rock and he makes anthropology fun!

we love jordan we love jordan
if you don't laugh in class, you should see a physician as soon as possible.
I came to college for professors like Dr. Jordan. An amazing man in a class of his own. I reccomend every Longwood student to take his beginning anthropology!

Excellent teacher!! Would highly recommend!:-)
Dr. J rocks!!!! Everyone should take atleast one class with him before they graduate!
Probably one of the best teachers I have ever had. Class started at 8, but I still woke up to go. Very fair with grading. Only 3 tests the entire year including the final!! I got an A in this class...almost kept me at Longwood.
Outstanding professor! One of the finest at Longwood!
Great story teller and one of the few that can go on a tangent and still bring it back on topic meaningfully. Never knew where he was going. Not afraid to drop a swear bomb or dig his nails in on a student. Very entertaining in class.
enjoyed his stories because they related to what we were studying in class. Great professor!!!
Amazing professor and person! You must take a Jordan class...regardless of your major!
He is great! His class is fun and interesting and you get to walk like apes! haha Definitely take this class!
WOW One of my favorite classes in college because Dr Jordan is such an amazing speaker we all enjoy his scary stories and he's just at good with stories relating to the class The retreat is amazing and he randomly took us on a small field trip in F-ville
Excellent teacher. I absolutly loved the class and will certainly take again!:-)
Awesome teacher! Definitly take one of his classes before you graduate/transfer. Take the summer class "The Community" to go on field trips almost every day.
Awsome professor, really interesting, if you get the chance to take the cource The Community, I highly reccomend it... Dr. Jordan is by far the greatest professor of all time. He really loves to teach, and he makes learning fun.
AWESOME professor! Definatly take one of his classes, even if just for elective credits! I thought anthropology would be kind of boring, but he really livens up the class. Even though our only grades are tests, he works with the class to our advantage
Definitely the best professor I have ever had. He knows how to make anthropology intersting. I never missed a class even though it was at 9 o;clock on MWF - yes, it's THAT INTERESTING! TAKE A CLASS FROM THIS INCREDIBLE MAN!
Great story teller. He is cool and he is hot too. Take him.
Hands down the best professor in the universe. He is the smartest and most well spoken person i have ever met. Im just wondering when they are going to name a building after him.
I am still punching myself in the dick for not taking his class...I graduated in 1995.
Dr. Jordan is one of the best teachers I have ever had! He goes out of his way to learn your name. He still to this day calls me by my name and I had him 3 semesters ago!
Dr.Jordan is WONDERFUL!! I had him First semester freshman yearI am now a Junior and he still knows my name and speaks to me often. The class was fun and worth getting up and walking to Wynne at 8am MWF every day.I never missed his class.Would take again
Excellent professor. If you don't take a class with him you are really missing out. He really cares about his students. He is very nice and goes out of his way for his students.
Such a wonderful spirit. Could make anybody smile let alone actually have fun in Anthropology class. One of a kind thats for sure.
Best Teacher Ever!!!
Dr. Jordan is one of the best teachers I've had! He's sincerely nice, funny, and goes out of his way to get to know his students. Try to take Jordan at least once!
All I have to say is he is the best!!
he is the best! i love being in his class! he cracks me up everyday! he makes anthropology FUN! he works with the class on how to improve his tests & he knows everyone by name! he's just an all around nice guy & great professor! TAKE HIM!
best teacher Ive ever had. Take his class
The best teacher in the entire world, Dr. Jordan is a genius. I think it should be called Jordan Commons. When are they going to name a building after this guy? One of a kind, you can't say that you went to Longwood if you didn't take a Dr. Jordan cla
Coolest cat around... take Anthro w/ him b/c he's so cool & tells the class like a story. Exams are clear cut & easy if you study.
Dr. Jordan is hard, but he is a wonderful teacher. What a great, fun class!! Do not leave Longwood without taking a class with him!
Dr. Jordan is the best professor I ever took a class from. This comes from an alumni from 7 years ago. Dr. Jordan is the reason I became and anthropology minor.
the best teacher i ever had. i had him at 8am and never wanted to miss the class. he makes it so much fun to attend
INCREDIBLE TEAHCER!! I never wanted to miss a class! He is so smart and everything he teaches is interesting! Even if you have to get up at 8am, you want this teacher. Yes test are kind of hard but you will love his class!
Dr. Jordan learns every single one of his student's names and remembers them years later...even thought I had him at 8am it really wasn't that bad. He is a great teacher. Plus he tells the best stories @ Halloween.
Best professor ever. Very interesting, he really knows his****. And helps you learn it too. I really can't say enough about him.
JJ you made this class soo interesting i would take it every semester. you will never want to miss a class and it is so worth taking it at 8am. if you have to take it (which every student does) you would be nuts not to take it with Mr. Anthropology himself! you rock JJ!
awesome teacher, awesome person, awesome friend
Great teacher. Strange sense of Humor
Dr. Jordan was one of the greatest teachers I have ever known. He is extremly knowledgable in his area, very enthusiastic, and extremly helpful. I have yet to have met a teacher to match him in his ability to get info to the student. He is very challenging and whatever grade you get, you earned.
Explains things clearly and fully without talking down to students. Loves it when you bring in articles or objects that are related somehow to class discussion. Exams are hell, but it's well worth it to take his class. Just dont miss class or you will never hear the end of it.
Awesome professor who interacts with his students without treating them like children. His exams are killer, but totally worth it and he grades fairly. I'd recommend him to any student at Longwood

he is brilliant! his class is so fun and he has great student interaction. his tests are hard but he is helpful and grades fairly
So funny! I love Dr. Jordan, he keeps class interesting and the time just seems to fly. Take his class! You won't regret it.
I took Jordan's "Indians of North America" class one semester. It was the last day of class. He gave his final lecture. The entire class stood up and applauded. It was amazing. He is an amazing professor!
best teacher i have ever had, and this was the second time ive taken anthro, i already commented about dr dalton *gag* summer course is the way to go, the field trips are more than educational
He is awesome!!!!
The rumors you hear are true. Take a class with him. He won't let you get away with skipping class or not reading assignments, and you have to actually do work to get an A, but he makes it easy to understand the lessons has a great sense of humor which is even better outside of class. He is just wonderful.
love him, best, and hot
He's an okay teacher but he's an immature jerk if you miss one of his classes. Even if you have a good reason he won't even look at you when you try to talk to him. He also feels the need to announce it in front of the class. Definitely overrated.
Overrated...Theres something really creepy/vacant behind his "smiles" and "jokes"--I think he has alot of problems...Never miss a class--Even if you're dying-He'll never forgive you and he'll always bring it up later...
The "other" rumors are true too, but he is still a good and helpful teacher.
He is one of the most amazing, influential and intellectual professors at Longwood. He finds a way to make even the most boring lecture interesting and encourages students to learn and use what they've learned. Absolute Pleasure being in one of his classes.
He is an amazing professor and a lot of fun. I really enjoyed his anthro class and I learned so much. He loves to get to know his students, and he's a professor that will actually come up to you on campus or in d-hall and ask you how you're doing.
yeah, he's a funny guy, but not the best professor i ever had, not even one of the best. definitely not one of the worst though. his classes are overrated but his Halloween stories are NOT. you can live with yourself without taking one of his classes, but you cannot truly say you went to longwood until you've been to his ghost stories
I really think this is one of the greatest professors around. I didn't appreciate him back in 1998 when I started as an anthropology major, so full of anxiety about college, but I learned by senior year after taking many classes with him that there was no one like him, and never really will be. Yes, he's heard, but you're in college!
The first thing i thought with his class was damn thats what im going to look like when im 60. Dr. Jordan has some great jokes I dont care what anybody thinks. The material is great and for the tests you have to take great notes and read the book. He asks you what kind of test you want to have come on now. It's all about the facts on the essays.
He was filling in for Dr. Welch but he made do. It was more of an anthro cl**** but fun none the less
I took this course during the summer and I LOVED it! We went on fieldtrips about every other day. Dr. Jordan has a great personality. He takes it personally when you skip class but honestly you won't want to. You have to do the reading and take notes. The only grades were 2 papers and a test. If you make an effort you'll get a good grade.
Dr. Jordan is amazing! He is a stickler for attendance but he makes class fun. Even his 8am's are worth attending. Dr. Jordan will make you want to become an anthropology major. His passion for the subject shows which helps you learn the material through his teaching. If given the opportunity, take his class!!!
Dr. Jorden is the absolute best teacher ever. I love him! He gives fair tests, and even helps you out. He also knows how to keep the subject interesting, for those non anthro majors. But for an anthro mayor he's the best teacher to start with.

He was funny, "Don't you see," and worth attending Intro to ANth and both American Indian courses. I double majored, adding anthropology, because I enjoyed his classes so much. He once told me I was a very strange individual--takes one to know one Dr. J! Great teacher. Quirky teacher, mind you, but a great teacher. Just don't miss class!
They don't get any better than Dr. Jordan! His class is one of the most interesting that I've ever had, and he is by far the most intelligent man that I've ever met! A MUST TO TAKE BEFORE YOU GRADUATE!
8am is not my cup of tea. Regardless, Dr Jordan held my attention. While he did favor students who showed interest, even the classmates who hated him because "he was too hard" (but showed up!) are passing. He was thoroughly knowledgeable on the subject, and happy help. He did have limited office hours, as he does a TON of things on campus.
Dr. Jordan is a awesome professor! highly recommend taking his course!!!
I graduated from Longwood in 83, and his is the only teacher's name I remember! Great professor! Interesting, challenging, and fun !! I ended up taking more of his classes.
Best professor I ever had. I graduated in 94. He had the names of every student memorized within minutes. He got me so interested, I picked up a minor in Anthropology. The summer dig class was awsome. Back then we played in dirt all day and had fun at night. Coolest and smartest professor I ever had. Peace pipe ceremony was great.
I graduated in '92 as an English major but picked up Anthropology as a minor because of Dr. Jordan. Engaging, current, witty, Dr. Jordan sold that class and we all bought it. He is one of three professors I remember vividly from college (One in a BAD way). So happy he is still working-loved those digs!
Coolest Guy Ever! I'm honored to have landed in his class due to a gen ed requirement. His lectures are funny and engaging. He expects a lot of facts on tests so remember as much as you can. Overall awesome!!!
Best teacher at longwood by far! Loves the subject he teaches and makes his students love it as well! Best stories you will ever hear! Dr Jordan has a story for every situation! LOVE HIM! Everyone should take a class with him before graduating! One class with him got me to change my major to Anthropology!
I just graduated and it was Dr. Jordan that changed me over to anthro. I am now in grad school and hope to be a professor of anthropology. He is the best teacher and I encourage everyone to take one of his classes!
Dr.Jordan is the most genuine professor I've had. I'm ecstatic for my next class with him. Memorizing random facts is mandatory to do well on tests. DRAW A MAP=Brownie points! While Jordan is a storytelling man and hilarious, be cautious when you skip his class, he takes it personally. He also battles cancer and seems to be a little sad. Love him!
One of the most profound professors on campus, and well-known. But, for some reason I diddnt like his class. I came in as an anthro major and im switching. Difficult exams, very old-fashioned teaching( no power-points) vcr movies.Great person, but i hard a hard time keeping up with his class.
Dr. Jordan is AWESOME! His style is a little old fashioned, but he has such a passion for teaching that makes his lectures so enjoyable. His tests are pretty hard, so be sure to actively read. Oh and if you don't do your homework or skip his class..prepare to be called out ;)
He's a great professor and definitely knows his stuff. His tests are very challenging and they require a lot of studying, but it's worth it. He gets really upset if you miss his class, and will embarrass you in front of the whole class. He means well, and definitely has a passion for anthropology!
His class was the most interesting class I''ve ever taken at Longwood but also one of the hardest. His lectures are amazing and he is a funny and interesting professor. He is serious about attendance though so try not to miss his class- even if you''re sick Tests are hard and he''s a really tough grader but his class is still worth it.
Half the reason I attend Longwood, take his class even just if it is to learn a little bit about the world and not for necessary credits.
I love this man! I hate bones, and anything related, but I walked out of this class in love with anthropology! Dr. Jordan is by far top five best professor that I have ever had at Longwood. He teaches and it is up to you with what you do with the information. NEVER miss class. You will be so lost! If you are a Lancer you have to take his class!
Dr. Jordan keeps you listening even without tech in his lectures because he knows his field. If he didn't do something himself, he knows someone who did. Do the readings and ask questions; he loves it. He deliberately plays the eccentric in class, but don't be fooled: the man's sharp. And genuinely good-hearted!
Great!
I really enjoyed his lectures. That said, he is way too tough of a grader. It's almost impossible to get an A in his class. He will be rude to you if you are unprepared for class or if you miss his class, even if the university considers it an excused absence.
Dr. Jordan is incredible. Anth 101 is lecture heavy, but you switch topics every couple of weeks so you won't get too bored. He's a goofy, caring old man and has a soft spot for Anth majors.
