The answers to every test can always be found in the practice tests and homeworks; use those to study if nothing else. As for lecture he uses real-world examples but can get repetitive. The book ends up not being very useful. The recitations are helpful to remediate on a topic but not much more.

He is a nice guy, however his lectures are dry and long. If you read his notes online carefully and do the practice tests you will do well. Put in the effort and you will receive the grade you want. Recitation not mandatory, neither is class, as long as you keep up with reading. The final was HARD and long. Don't waste your money on the textbook.

His lectures will put you to sleep (esp as they're morning classes) and the book he assigns is a text that he wrote in 1996 and is *awful* compared to the text the rest of the dept uses.
