If you really want to learn, take this teacher. He is very helpful, willing to help students outside the classroom. He is a hard teacher, but you will definetelly learn, and have chances of getting an A.

He's hard but a great teacher. Even though I hate Finance I loved his class. You have to be willing to do a lot of work though. The only way to pass is to do ALL the HW and RAED ALL the chapters. Otherwise the cheat sheet won't help. The material itself is hard, but you do learn. Lots of numbers and formulas. It is a hard class but I got an A.

If you need help, go to his office, he'll help you, even if it's not his office hours

Excellent, excellent professor. Great teacher, sample tests are exactly like the exams, and he's very helpful if you go to his office hours. Guaranteed A in the class if you study. I recommend him highly.

Not a hard class. Keys is a very good teacher. He allows you to bring a cheat sheet for every test and if you put all the math problems on the there you are guaranteed half of the test because they are the same problems he gives you on the study guides just different numbers.

Great teacher, very helpful. You have to study and read chapters, not an easy A but not hard. He gives out sample problems for test that are very helpful and lets you have a "cheat sheet" with whatever you want for test!!! I got an A.

Prof Keys is ok. The course is not one to sleep on. You have to read and study to earn your grade. He is fair by allowing you 3 chances to take the tests online and he takes the highest grade of the 3. The exams are bit tricky though. The sample probs are very helpful. Cheat sheet helps as well for exam.

You need to read the chapters in the book. Sample Problems help A LOT. You have to study on a weekly basis.. If you cram before the test ..not gonna make it. Overall he is an OK teacher.

Finance is hard! But Keys makes it easy with his sample problems being very similar to the exams. I recommend.

Very easy class. He gives you 3 Exams with the same questions but different numbers as the sample problems and the quizzes. You have 3 tries to take each quiz and he responds to emails quickly. I found him to be very helpful.

You have to do the work, but it's not as difficult as it seems at first glance. Do ALL of the sample problems and make note of the formulas you will need for the exams. In the online course, you can repeat the quizzes and several are due at the same time so you can work at your own pace as you have time. This was helpful since I work full-time.

I recommend this class. Midterms and final were almost completely based off the quizzes. You get to retake quizzes more than once, and the professor generously spaced out the due dates of his quizzes, allowing you to work through this class at your own pace. Have the professor explain all the calculations, read the chapters, and you'll do fine.

Great Online Professor! While some of the material may have been hard, all of it was taken from the book so it could easily be learned. You were allowed to re-take quizzes which helps you correct your mistakes and embeds what your learning. Highly recommended!!!

The online class isn't that bad. 3 chances for each quiz, sample problems and the same type of quiz questions show up on the exams with different numbers. Take quiz 3 times and learn all the theory questions. He curved 3% in the end. Quizzes-15%, Exam 1-25%, Exam 2-25%, Final-35%. Answers Discussion Forum questions promptly.

Awesome professor!! If I was majoring in finance, I would take as many finance courses as that I could with this guy. He explains everything very well, and bases the exams on the same types of questions that you will find on the quizes! You do have to study to pass though because the quizzes are not a cake walk.

Very nice person. Explains things clearly, but what he does in class is a lot like the textbook. Do his practice exams and then DO THE ONLINE QUIZZES!!! Tests largely based on them. If you read the book and do the quizzes, no need to go to class. BUY A FINANCIAL CALCULATOR!!! It will make your life a lot easier. I got an A the class.

Great Professors. If you really want to learn finance this is the professor to take. He is super fair. His tests come straight from WebCT quizzes, same questions, different numbers. Application problems come from the book, just read each chapter, and you will do extremely well. I cant believe he has a green face here. A+++++

I highly recommend taking online class. Assignments can be retaken endlessly until you get a 100% and quizzes were not hard, just make sure you read the chp well. Best part is that there was no midterm/final only a financial plan in which we turn in at the end of the semester. Awesome!

Took him online. Super easy class, just make sure you read every chapter before the quizzes. No midterm or final one or 2 quizzes online a week plus an assignment each week. They are all open from the beginning of class. If you take them all ahead of time you can finish before the end of the semester.

Prof. Keys is very nice and knows the content, but all he does in class is read off the chapter outline. Extremely boring!! He does provide you with a lot of outside of class resources for you to learn/study. There are 3 in-class exams and 15 online quizzes (he drops the 3 lowest). If you study and do the quizzes you will get an A!

I took him online. There are a lot of resources for this class, and always answers to all questions. The class takes a lot of dedication, since it is not an easy subject. Do not cram at the last minute! Read every chapter, do every quiz on time, and you will get an A.

Class fully online. We had quizzes due on every other month, but you should try before the deadline, midterms are from quizzes as well as final. Professor asnwer back incredibly FAST! email him at 1am, 12pm, 11 4pm.. leave that iPhone alone Jim! Excellent professor. Final really hard. He curves!

I took FIN3403 online with Prof. Keys and I think this class was one of the easiest finance class He has a lot of Knowledge on the subject. His lectures online are super really helpful and interesting. I really liked this class alot. I ended up with a B+.

I took FIN3403 fully online. It was pretty easy. He opens all the quizzes at the beginning of the semester so if you want to finish early you can. You have to complete a financial assessment which will take about 3 to 4 days of your time. Don't wait until the last minute. It is an easy A for me at least.

class is hard but the professor is really good and explains clearly. his tests are challengin and u have to make a quiz out of every chapter. u take 15 quizes and he drops the lowest 3 grades

Fully online. The DYN-MINI section is time-consuming but you can get an A. Just read the text and do the quizzes. Concept quizzes (40%), unlimited attempt problem quizzes (35%), financial plan (25%). He responds really quickly to questions but curves only when the overall class avg is below a C. You shouldn't need it anyway.

He is an extremely helpful prof. The class was not online but u have access to blackboard. I was surprised how quickly he responded to student's questions. The lecture is boring, but going to class helped. His handouts are very good. I hardly even read the book. You must put in a lot of work to do well! Online quizzes per chp are optional.

I took the class online and found the professor to be very prompt and extremely descriptive whenever questions were asked through blackboard. It's a difficult class, especially online, but if you work hard and keep up with the course you should do just fine. 12 quizzes and 2 exams (final in-person). Recommended if you are able to teach yourself.

A lot of helpful resources but if you are taking 5 other classes like me this class is very time consuming and you will study your butt off for a C. The 10 points at the end of the semester will either bring me up to an A or a B. If I were you I would try to take another professor.

he is a really nice guy, the class is not easy at all, but if you go to class, pay attention and read teh textbook, you will do fine. so far i have an A on the class, and Im starting to like Finance. So if you like to study, and take classes seriously, you will get a good grade. :)

Keys is a good prof. All these negative comments below are most likely from lazy students that would like to be babied. You will have to read and study each chapter to pass. Going to lecture will be boring but helpful. He tells you more or less what is going to be on the test. You can email him with problems and he will help you out. Overall A+

this class is so easy! you dont have to come to class at all! however, you must do wileyplus to pass his class. he also let you bring a cheat sheet for exams. I passed his class by doing all of wileyplus and putting every chapter of the exam on my cheat sheet so i dont have to read the chapters.

If you fail his class you shouldn't be in college. He outlines the chapters for you and sends them online. All his tests are straight from his outlines, and the problems he has in them are exactly like the ones on the exams. He tells you exactly how to solve them. I did not attend once this class, except for test dates. Super easy, I recommend him

I took him for spring 2011, it is an easy class just do all the wileyplus exercises and the examples exercises for each chapther and you will get an A on the test. you dont have to read the book just use the note class and you will be fine. I got an A in this class and yes he does curve at the end

Good professor! Nice guy, too. Digresses a bit into personal finance sometimes, but always brings it back to the class at hand. Class is a bit dry, but that's ok. Wiley plus super helpful, class notes a life saver! Make sure you do the questions at the end of the class notes prior to test. Overall, class/professor very good.

Professor Keys' class is extremely boring considering he reads directly from the notes provided online. The tests are multiple choice and the math problems are similar to the questions provided at the end of his chapter notes. Study concepts as well for they are a good portion of the tests. HW is extra credit. Overall the class was fair.

GREAT professor! Definitely recommend him if you want to learn. He does require dedication and work but I honestly think that by the time you should be taking this class, that is what should be expected. His lectures are boring and attendance is not mandatory so as long as you follow up with readings and understanding you will pass this class.

there are pros and cons. He responds to emails and gives feedback on grades very quickly. But his lectures aren't the best and since the subject isn't easy, the class can be a challenge. But if you put the effort to study the text and review study questions you should be able to make it. He knows his stuff but fails to convey it well to students

Teaching style is extremely boring. Students can learn more by reading the textbook instead of attending lecture. If you choose to take him just buy the book, do the online HW exercises and you will end up with an A.

Professor Keys is very smart. I really enjoyed his class. Great sense of humor and if you pay attention in class and do all the assignments you will get an A. Highly recommend him.

He was a decent professor. Class is extremely hard, but if you read the text and study the questions he gives you then you will probably get an A. Do not get discouraged if you get a C on the first exam, that is what I got and recovered for the next two and ended up with an A-.

Very easy class and an easy A. Great class to use as one of the 4 electives if you are in the school of Business. If you get anything lower than an A in this class you should just quit FIU and go to clown college. Prof Keys makes this class super easy but you also walk away from this class with so much useful information. Take this class online.

Attendance is mandatory. Super boring, but you have to go in order to do an in-class assignment as your participation. Homeworks are absolutely ridiculous! It WILL take you 3+ hours per week. Tests can be difficult since it comes from test banks, however the problems you have to work out are pretty simple. If you study & practice, you'll do well!

HW, Quizzes and Assignments are done through Connect; HW has unlimited attempts, quizzes have 2 attp. Personal Financial Plan due at end of semester: DON'T PUT OFF UNTIL LAST MINUTE. Pretty easy overall; assignments can be a bit tedious but most of it is common sense, especially for a finance major. Good for upper div. elective.

VERY tedious class, but it's easy. Everything is straight from the book which you will have to read. I spent 4 hours a week completing the modules. There's no exams, projects, papers etc only the modules. You can post questions on Canvas and the professor will respond in a day. He's nice. He can't do much about modules and material being awful.

Great professor!! Would definitely take him again.
