He is so cool, his tangents are sometimes helpful in our learning capabilities.
easy class
Test are easy and attendance is not necessary. It is a great class.
I really enjoy his class but sometimes things aren't explained that clearly.
he adds 6or 10 points to our test just so over half the class doesn't fail exams
Easy class, a real gpa booster
Lectures are boring. He gives pop quizzes when attendance is low.
The only hard thing is reading his hand-writing.nice guy
slept everyday, nice guy but not a teacher
Very good professor! shares lots of interesting facts that make the class fun!
Over stuff you already know, show up and get an A.
good if you have the old tests, not very clear on what will be on exam
He's nice, it's easy, occasional random fact test questions
Very good teacher. Easy class!
Tests are difficult, and doesn't understand things from a student stand point.
tests were impossible. no office hrs. hard to meet after class
Test are impossible to pass. Does not prepare or explain well enough.
He seems uninterested in students but the material easy. You can't fail this one
Not a bad class. Hard to study for. Helps to have old tests
Hard to study for, but not hard material. Some random facts on exams.
Exams were hard to study for, and had some random fact questions
lectures ae useless. Treats students like children. impossible exams.
Not good person
Terrible teacher, lectures and notes unclear and unorganized. Avoid if you can
Very Bias on some things. Can't produce research to back up "facts"
Tests are impossible to study for, unclear what content will be on them.
The test are crazy, there is no way to know what will be on them.
Lectures-very unorganized.Tests-impossible to predict.Teaches interesting facts
Lectures straight from the book for the most part, tests are over book material.
funny prof, but that doesnt make up for the HARD TESTS, studying is impossible
Great guy. Tells stories that make class interesting. Likes random facts, though
Very unorganized. Jumps all over the place in lecture. Exams impossible.
Very irritating man. Tests are harder than they need to be. Random facts.
I really enjoyed this class and learned a lot! Actually recieved an A!!!
Go to every class and READ THE BOOK to do well on exams. Funny comments.
J Ledrick is a peach compared to Milt Ford
Went to get help from him, told me he had 100 students and didn't have the time
SO EASY didn't do a thing. Show up, get an A!!
if you study for his tests, it's easy
awful professor--notes are unclear and not at all organized!
The class is easy as long as you look at your notes before an exam.
Very, very hard tests. You never now what is going to be on them. Unorganized.
Very hard tests, impossible to learn anything from him, read the book and use cd
No Comments
tough tests! Did not test much on lecture. You have to read and remember a lot
He was very unclear. He tested on info not talked about in lecture or in book.
Funny! Lecture at least semi-interesting even at 8 in the morning.
he always had some funny story to tell..he talks about his fam. alot,
his lecture was interesting.
who cant like this guy?! hes funny, tests were kinda tough tho, interesting
good at first then he lost it, very unorganized and unclear
i liked the class but hated the prof. i will be taking it again
hard lab teacher because the quiz questions are only concerned with details.
He's a good guy. Just show up to class and you'll probably pass.
Great guy! funny, insightful. If you didn't like him, its your problem, not his!
not real personal with each student but a good class and teacher
Take Notes and Read Material, all around pretty easy
hard tests, no eye contact, knows stuff, good overall
Good prof if you go to class and study for tests. MUST STUDY!
Dosn't make subject very interesing, but not hard if you study.
funny, understandable, nice, cares about what you think, need to read book for tests too
messy, disorganized, covers wayyyy too much material in one class period then tests on minutiae.
great teacher made subject interesting, easy tests
Easy teacher, easy class. Only went on test days and still got a B+.
dont bother asking questions, he will just make you feel stupid.
Tries to cover too much information in a lecture and winds up jumping from subject to subject and never finishing a thought.
He's alright, but he covers a ton of stuff in one class... study study study!
He is the worst prof ever he will make a really easy class very hard. If you have him get out!!!
Very inconcise and I don't even think HE knows what he's talking about
very hard... get out while you can!
Hard to follow, doesn't keep in one topic. Half the time he doesn't know what he's talking about. Tells you you need to know everything for the exam and won't clarify.
He's a pretty good teacher. GIVES QUIZZES ALL THE TIME! Better show up or you will miss a quiz. If you even half pay attention to lectures then you will do fine on exams and quizes... just try and stay with his crazy thought jumping skills.
This is the worst science teacher I have ever had. He is unclear and continues to jump from thought to thought. I switched my major because of this man. Don't take his class!
Makes you feel stupid at times if you do not understand. Tests are very hard, you WILL fail if you do not study excessivly.
Not very helpful. Jumps around a lot and hard to follow. Knows what he is talking about but does not explain it well. Do not ask questions because you will only be more confused. Overall bad teacher but a nice guy.
Terrible prof. He is extremely scatterbrained and his lectures have no structure. You will learn nothing from this class, get out of his class while you can!!!
doesnt explain information
What a stud
He is horrible. I studied for at least 5 hours for a test and got a D. Class average right now is about a D-. He gives way too much detail and expects you to know everything, even that he didn't teach. Get out if you can!
You ROCK! You are a great professor, keep telling your stories at the beginning of class. I love your bonus quizzes and the fact that our exam isn't cummulative...thanks so much!!!
He makes class fun and interesting. He tells the best stories in class, and gives bonus quizzes! Watch out...He likes to give quizzes all the time, but they are easy. Definitely reccommend him.
If you have him drop and get a new prof. Tests go into great detail...more than necessary...and nothing is cleary explained. He spends more time telling stories than teaching material that is relevant to this course. Get out while you can!
Awful prof...Lectures are ridiculously hard to follow, exams are horribly unpredictable, too much info, not helpful at all, turned a 100 level course into a 1000 level course. Get out while you can.
good guy willing to help any way he can, but you have to ask for the help, go see him during office hours and use his notes. Go to class he gives random bonus quizzes that can bring your grade way up
His class is very difficult, and he does not explain anything very well. He goes over some things in class, but his test go into a lot of detail. You need to either go on the book's website or read the chapter.
This is the worst teacher I have ever had. Anyone who says he is a good 120 teacher must be great bio students. But the average student will struggle. Gives extra crdt quizes but that is so not EVERYONE fails his class...just most everyone!
Confusing man! I am a nursing major and got a B in the class! His lectures go nowhere and the exams are unpredictable. He was not organized with grades. I found him difficult and it was basically the second time around that I learned the material!
He's a good prof. changed his ways to help us learn better. Tough tests at first, just study and read the chapters and you will do well. Go to every class cause he gives out extra credit!
AWFUL Prof. He skips around way too much, going from topic to topic, and you never have enough time to write his notes down. The only way you can pass the class is if you study 8 hours a day! I changed my mind about majoring in Biology because of him:S
Great prof! People give him a lot of crap b/c they don't feel like studying for the class or reading the book, but if you do you'll do fine. He's a funny guy and gives extra credit like every single week...I really liked his class.
Worst prof. i've ever had. blames everything on students when its really his fault on teaching! i had to drop his class cuz i was failinng it. (just a note: i've never ever got close to failing a class) very disappointed in his effort to teach us.
He's really not as bad as everyone says he is, kinda boring but his stories are funny and totally random. If you study a little you'll be fine.
People complain about him with 120, but for Genetics he's SO EASY! I ended up with a 97% in the class. The subject material is fascinating and he loves it. He's funny, interesting. You need to read the chapter to pass the tests, but the textbook is great.
Horrible teacher. He is all over the place in his lectures and is unwilling to answer any questions you have. And you will have questions seeing as you have to teach the class to yourself.
DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO TEACH. Knows the material really well but couldnt teach if his life depended on it. If u read on your own & teach yourself youll be okay cuz the test material is all from the book. No point in going to lecture except attendance quizzes
The material was fascinating! You will have to read the book!! He lectures rather rapidly, but if you read the material before class you'll be able to keep up just fine.Tests are challenging, but if you read the book and study your notes you will do well.
Pretty good prof... Tries to explain things in a simple manner so everyone understands. Tests are semi hard so you have to study lots of material. I would recomend his class.
He's very nice and a good teacher
He loves double negatives. The class was very interesting and not to hard, do the normal stuff (read and go to class) and you will be ok. It also helps to get the terms down as fast as possible to save yourself from confusion latter on.
Talks incredibly fast and skips around A lot. His lectures are very boring and he has very sloppy writing and drawings. His tests were very very hard. He is a nice guy.
I am NOT a science person at all so this genetics class was just very hard for me...he tries to help you in office hours...his analagies he uses in class are so outdated-he doesnt make sense I suggest you go into O.H....this is where he learns your name!!
easiest class ever, very nice guy. his lectures are interesting and he is funny. he keeps you interested and the class will get you an easy A.
He was a terrible teacher. He explained things in a very complicated way. I failed the first test but got B's on the rest. USE THE DISC that comes with your bio 120 book. His tests and quizzes are taken from there. This was the only thing that saved me
Long boring classes! Gives you the notes to print off but way boring and he skips around alot!
totally the counsellor from south park m'kay
I love him, he's so funny with the examples he uses. As long as you come to class and take notes (he even gives you the option of printing out the powerpoints) you'll do fine. His exams totally follow the study guides available on blackboard.
GREAT PROFESSOR! I have him at 9 in the morning and after partying until 2-3 am, he can still keep my attention and make things interesting no matter how sleepy i am. He's real funny, and the tests are easy. Seriously get this guy if you can.
Genetics, this guys genetic code is a little off. Pretty quirky guy. Nice and all but he sometimes went off on tangents and was a bit unclear. Class would be alot easier with more group interaction and in class work with problems.
Mr. Ledrick is a funny funny man. He uses hilarious examples to keep you awake and he's so sweet and adorable. Makes a required class very interesting and easy. Keep up the good work, Mr. L.!
Lecture class. I took this gen ed because I figured it wouldn't be hard, but I am pullina a B now, which I though would be an A. Gives blackboard notes, multiple choice tests, but not as easy as I thought.
im not a science person, thats why i took this class. I tried hard, attended every class still did bad on his tests. Tests cover little that he talks about in class.in order to do well on the test, study read and do the review.if you have any questions ask him, bc his tests have random questions.
He's so funny, wish he were my dad. Read the book on your own and know the vocab. I got the same grade on three consecutive tests give or take a point
I loved his glasses, they were hot. He was a jerk though
Willing to help you out in tough times. My dad was in the hospital a week before finals and he let me use my overall grade so far as my final exam grade so I wouldn't have to take it. THANKS Mr.L!
You think that you'll do well in his class because the concepts seem so basic, and second nature. However, his tests are very misleading, and he doesnt offer much help on better ways of studying. He respects his students which I liked though.
I was always great at BIO, and in this class, i went to EVERY lecture, took down all of his notes...and i failed almost every test without his curves. He's really unclear...a nice guy, sometimes a little funny too. He gives pop bonus quizes which helps.
Mr. Ledrick is the sweetest guy ever. In some odd way his humor makes him a little attractive for an older guy, haha. Health was pretty simple, he had some things that were on the test that weren't in the book or in our notes but if you read and take good notes you'll do well. He's fun!
He is very helpful and interesting. His writing is a little bit hard to read, and his tests are hard, but he is very nice.
Horrible teacher. One of the worst ones I have ever had, doesn't really teach anything. If you have to take this class I suggest that you find another professor.
I HATED this class and I HATED his teaching. I would recommened that you NOT take his class and sign up for a different prof. He was not very clear and was not very helpful. I did not like his methods of teachings and his tests are VERY hard. DONT TAKE HIS CLASS.
His Tests are hard but if you study his notes and read your book, you'll do ok. He's understanding and helpfull and I actually liked him a lot. Just pay attention and work hard. Quirky analogies too, but funny!
Overall a very good professor. Uses real-life examples and stories to further emphasize his point. Reviews very well for the exams and tests, just read the notes thoroughly and you're guaranteed at least a (B) Grade
Worst 100 Level class ever. Ledrick makes up his own definitions and expects you to know them for the exam. Very confusing and doesnt explain anything.
His class is fairly easy to do well in but is excruciatingly boring. He doesn't really seem qualified to be a professor either.
Nice guy, okay class. Lots of notes, and the tests are challenging, but multiple choice. He gives good examples and makes the class more personal by telling us short stories before class. Go ahead and take it. :)
His class was actually quite interesting, but I had alot of trouble with it and was failing it for the longest time. Until I went to him and he helped me and met with me weekly for the rest of the sem. Please dont be afraid to go to him for help, he is such a nice guy brought me from a D- to a C+.
This class is an easy A if you go everyday and take notes. Your participation grade is equivilant to one of the exams, so as long as you show up, you'll be fine. Do the study guides before the exams, they help alot. He's a very nice guy and just wants you to do well, is quite funny too.
First time I ever really understand Meiosis and Mitosis was in his class. Very clear explanations. Stay after class, ask questions. He is willing to help so get to know him and show him that you are trying.
Not a bad professor. A little boring at times, but very clear. This class is extremely easy if you take notes and pay attention.
Ledrick's not real organized during lecture--he's kind of all over the place, which makes it really hard to absorb biology. He's not real responsive to students. Tests are pretty easy if you study--and often extra credit gives you a nice bump up a letter grade. You could do worse.
Lectures are boring, but if you take notes and pay attention you will do fine on the exams. He can be very helpful if you ask.
The class itself wasn't so bad. Exams, however, were not what was covered in lecture. I studied notes, read the chapters, and went over his learning objectives and only pulled a B in the class. Exam reviews were not helpful at all. Nice guy, but could do better as a professor.
For being a Former Doctor that was striped of his licence, I happened to like his class. Not that hard and he good at the subject matter
Makes the class as interesting as it could be I'd imagine. Attendance is worth a lot. He's not a prof to be avoided.
If you are a science major, this class is easy because of your background info. If you are not familiar with science it is a hard class because he is very unclear in notes and test material is not covered in class. The tests are 1/2 from the notes, and 1/2 from background info.
Ledrick is a fun, easy-going guy. Lectures are 99% on overhead, and definitely read the book, or you can't fill the holes from his lectures. My avg. study time was 1 hr. per week and yielded an A-, so not hard at all :-) Super Fast at posting Grades to BB. I'd take him again.
he was very easy, no quizzes, just tracked your attendance by little opinion questions, they were in class and took two minutes to do. DO NOT take this class if you are a science major and like things explained...that doesn't happen in this class. Sometimes he didn't know what he was talking about.
Makes the class as interesting as possible, ver helpful. Although requires background information if not a science major. Test are somewhat hard. Need adquete study time.Good professor.
His tests are so unclear. He spends so much time on the notes during class and then when test time comes, the answers are ridiculous! For every question there are like 2 or more possible answers. Its hard to pay attention because all he does is lecture.
Lots of lecture, which he makes interesting with funny stories and dry humor. The tests really aren't clear but the study guides do help as an outline, but they don't cover everything. Not a horrible science class, but you only have tests and some attendance for grading, so make sure you try and study. A good prof, considering the material.
Great professor and easy class to take. All notes done on powerpoint. Attendence isn't necessary but random one minute quizzes count towards participation points. Make sure to read the chapters in the book before each test it will make things a lot easier.
This class is also known as hs 100. I would not recommend this professor. The class is way too slow and it felt like a waste of my time for learning. If you're not in for long lectures and random one-minute papers, this class isn't for you.
UNCLESO UNCLEAR!!!! This guy doesn’t know what he wants. Material so dry, needs to spice it up. Slow class, although we never went the whole time (1:00-2:15), which was nice. 3 tests (they suck, study guides help) and keeps attendance buy opinion quizzes for 100 pts total.
I liked this professor. He really cares about the class, what he teaches, and what goes on around the world and on campus. Use the study guides to study, though a lot doesn't coincide with his tests. Read the material, though it is very dry. Go to all the classes so that you can get 100 points towards your grade, you will need it.
Great teacher to have for lecture. He keeps things interesting with funny anecdotes. He is always clear and entertaining with the material. Will let students often go home early to let a lot of information sink in. Tests are well written. Show up, pay attention, take notes, and you will do well in his class.
Sooo boring. Easy class, and the tests aren't difficult....they just cover a lot of stuff from the book, so be sure to do the reading.
i thought this class was very interesting and i learned a lot. i didnt find the lectures all that boring either... he gives good notes, but you do have to read to get all the info thats gonna be on the tests. very fun prof, lots of good stories :)
The class was really pretty easy. He posts powerpoint lectures and as long as you read the book you won't fail. I skipped the majority of the classes and still got a high B. Not a bad guy at all.
I had him Fall 05 and he's great. I would def. take another course with him if I have the chance. The class was an easy A as well
He's a good teacher, funny, and he clarifies things well. But if you are not a study freak, I advise you to not take this class. All it is is lecturing and test. And one minute papers which counts as class participation. But if you have good study habits and you dont get bored very easy then, yes, this is a good course for you.
Dr. Ledrick was asked to teach Intro to Organic the week before school started for our class. He did a good job teaching us considering he was teaching a tough class for the first time. He was unclear sometimes so you HAD to read the book and do the problems. But he's a nice guy and did a good job teaching when he was put on the spot for our class
First year at Grand Valley and absolutley love this teacher. Have to study in order to do well, but one of the nicest, most helpful teachers i've ever had. Deff. recomend taking him!
I had him for lab and he was great!
4 exams worth 100 points, plus 100 points worth of attendence - not too hard, but i would suggest doing the reading, a good gen ed to take
I think he is terribly boring and teaches to high school freshman. The exams are difficult even though the material covered in class is remedial. I would not recommend taking his course.
Hard class. Gives one-minute papers to make people come to class, but if you have a friend in class they can fill one out for you. Otherwise not necessary to go to class. Lectures are boring, and the notes taken are mostly useless. Really only need to complete and study the study guide he gives before the test, which is mostly from the book anyway.
Love the guy. I don't know what everyone else it talking about his being difficult for. The whole class is like common sense. I am not an A student but i am definitely pulling one off in his class. Exams are easy - i didn't study for the last one and got an 85. One minute papers are questions like, what did you eat for b-fast. GREAT GEN ED, EASY.
good class interesting
GREAT lab teacher! really easy. write lab reports after you do the lab... easy to understand, will teach if your lecture teacher doesn't recommended for organic lab!
He is a very bad professor! Everything he talks about isn't on the test, BUY THE BOOK! You'll need it to pass!
The class itself is fairly easy. Take notes, and definitely go through the entire study guide before an exam. However, attendance is random, which is quite ridiculous, and that will account for 100 of the 550 points that total your grade. GO TO CLASS, even though it seems like a waste of time.
If you take good notes in class you don't even have to open your book. I never did and I passed his class with an A. He is a great teacher, very nice and funny. Very willing ot help if you need it. Definitely take him if you can. He's also a great CHM231 lab instructor! Make sure you attend every class, since attendance is 100pts of your grade!
Had him for lab he was great! Very helpful and entertaining always willing to help you out. I'd take him again.
You think the test is going to be easy but its not! he only grades on the four exam which aren't that easy! I did the study guides before the exams and they didnt help me at all! I wouldn't recommend him!
His class was entertaining at times, and I found myself wanting to go. Test can be tricky, but once you learn how to study for them, they aren't too bad. No homework!
Skims powerpoint, jumps from topic to topic, never clear, expects you to know it all on the exam, feels like a waste of time sitting in lecture but you get points for attendance. I was interested in patho before taking the class, now I have no interest.
Dr. Ledrick does not present the material in a clear, concise manner. Lectures are scattered, making it very difficult to understand the material. Power points are bounced back and forth. No extra credit offered (level playing field according to syllabus), I would not recommend this professor. Very difficult to succeed.
Might be 1st semester he's taught pathophys. He is very scattered, disorganized. Lost our scantrons for first test. Out of 120 people, one A- for first test, no A's. 2d test -- no A's. Many things on the test that he never addresses. The tests are tricky. Section average - 73! Other section - 86. Take other section if at all possible.
Very upbeat and happy professor. Go to class everyday so you get the notes and complete short, 1 minute papers which are easy and help boost your grade. Exams can be difficult, but if you study the notes you will be fine. Also there is no homework, which is nice.
His exams are difficult. Even if you read the book, and take notes on his lecture word for word it is still difficult to achieve an A. His study guides don't follow what he askes for on the exams. But his lectures are decent, and he always tells a story at the beginning of class.
He is not very easy to follow, does not go into detail in lecture and the exams are nothing like what is gone over in class. I feel like I learned nothing about pathophys. after taking his class. He should not be allowed to teach this course. Take another prof if at all possible.
I really liked his class. No homework, but you need to study fro the tests. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he passes out "one minute questions" every once in a while and gives you points for attending class. I liked him and would take him again.
Oh Jimbo I dont know what to say. He was an alright teacher and but the class should have been easier. The entire class is test based and though it should be easy the tests seem to find minute details that he mentions in passing. This leads to an unfair grade based on what you have actually learned. I didnt like the topic and in the end did average
Great Professor! Knew the material very well, and explained it clearly.Made class interesting. Very friendly person, and started each class off with something personal, whether it was something funny that happend to him, or how a sports team did over the weekend. I really recommend this professor! My favorite professor so far!
Prof. Ledrick was a very interesting professor. I really liked his teaching style and thought that he went a comprehensible speed. Unlike some of the previous comments, I truly felt that his exams were easy and literally came STRAIGHT from the notes. I would DEF take his course again!
I really liked him. told funny stories and I found myself wanting to go to class. attendance isn't mandatory but I would recommend going because everything thats on the exams are lecture based. Very nice guy and knows what he's talking about. Tests can be tricky but I WOULD take his class again.
Do not take this prof.
I really like Jim as a person, and actually enjoyed his lectures, but when it came to exams, he wasn't very clear. There are things on exams that aren't on the review sheet. You'll have to attend class and study the text book, and show up to class to get a good grade.
This prof. put the students down all the time. He does not respect student at all. He told us we are monkeys and need to take medication before we come to class..Hard to follow his lecture, exams are difficult. He is a narcissist that thinks he is the most important thing in the world. I don't recommend him at all.
This prof. put the students down all the time. He does not respect student at all. He told us we are monkeys and need to take medication before we come to class.
I don't recommend this professor.
Never really went to class and still managed a C. Just does powerpoints most of the time and doesnt explain very well. Overall good guy, but you're really on your own if you want to get an A
He is the worst professor I have had in my history at GVSU. Lecture were vague, disorganized, and unclear. While exams were ridiculously difficult. Review sheets for exams were worthless in exam preparation. I am a 3.9 student, and my grade in this class was the 1st B I had received in my entire college career.
he likes to take attendance randomly but its not required. he goes on tangents about his grandkids and kids a lot. overall, just know the information on his review sheets and BE SURE to attend on review days before the test and you'll pull of a b. its a lot of memorization but not too difficult.
He is a nice guy, not very personable. Attendance isnt mandatory but he gives you points for showing up some days. Tests are based on the notes you take in class, study those and do the study guide and you can get an A. No homework assignments which can be nice but there arent a lot of points for the class.
I was always really bad at science and hated it until I took this class, I loved it! Ledrick is very clear and uses a lot of examples to explain things. So long as you take good notes you will do well on the tests. I would definitely recommend taking this prof if you aren't very good at science.
Nice guy. Tests are based on the notes you take in class. No homework assignments but only 550 points in class so you need to do well on the tests and be there when he does take attendance (100 points).
Absolutely WONDERFUL teacher :-) Class is very interesting, you wont fall asleep! Though it is a lot of information, just pay attention, ask questions, he will answer them and he will help you :-)
Awesome teacher! I was so nervous for this class but once I got into it, it became my favorite class. And I hate science! He is very helpful and clear.
An interesting person, but definitely not my favorite professor. Can be pretty unclear at times. I didn't completely understand his grading system until the end when I realized I only got 65/100 participation pts. Also there are random questions on the tests that aren't on the study guide. My first B I've received in college. I dont recommend him.
He is a great teacher! He is really interesting and a really nice guy! I would definitely recommend him! BUTTTT I suggest still reading the book! It is not mandatory... but it is really hard to do well on the tests if you do not read! There are only four tests and they are worth 100 points each and then there is 100 points of participation, thats i
If you show up to class, do the study guides and read the book about the topics you don't quite understand, you'll get an A. I didn't mind going to class either...he keeps it interesting for the most part.
my favorite teacher!! he knows so much about the subect. You MUST GO TO CLASS AND READ THE BOOK. you will gt an A if you put in the effort.
He made the class interesting. I looked forward to the class, he would tell stories and the class just flew by. Loved it!
Going to class is definently a mandatory thing, missed one class and I missed half a chapter! He covers a lot of material in a short time but goes in real depth. He tells stories of his family to help get the information across. I would definetly take another class taught by him!
Ledrick teaches this class so well! he makes it interesting and is just a funny guy. The class isn't hard at all you just have to show up and pay attention and read some of the material. looked forward to every class!
great. i never bought a book and still pulled off an A. class isnt mandatory but going helps your grade. print out power points and go to every class, pay attention, and take notes on your printed power point slides. his hand writing isnt good but you can read it. everything on the test he goes over in class. just dont be lazy and pay attention.
Exceptionally helpful and clear. Take thorough notes and use the study guides.
Even though this class was at 9AM, I still loved going! He is a funny guy and he makes lectures interesting. The tests are a bit hard, but he gives study guides.
Professor Ledrick was a great guy. Class was a giant lecture so its not focused on individual needs at all, so youll have to have some strong will power so youre not on your laptop wasting time on facebook when you should be taking notes. Tests were quite difficult. Nothing that cant be solved with paying attention and taking notes.
This professor is nice, not an extremely hard professor but does NOT offer extra credit, and grade based all on tests. Which is difficult. PAY ATTENTION to notes in class, recommend you print off his notes from blackboard and also write down the side notes he not only writes but says.
The class is in a big lecture hall, but he speaks very clearly and doesnt talk soft so hes easily heard from the very back row. He makes the class interesting and hes funny. You do have to pay attention to notes and listen to what he says because not everything on the tests are in his notes. The stuff is really interesting and I loved it!
Its completely a lecture based class but he is a very good speaker He is able to keep you interested in what he is talking about Always take notes if you only go off of the slides he puts online you will miss A LOT of questions on the exams DO NOT spend the $90 on the textbook He NEVER uses it Dont skip class what is said in class is on the exams
He only takes "attendance" 10 times throughout the semester with a 5 min "quiz." His lectures were kindof boring to me because they were at 9am but he is a very nice guy and our only grades were our 4 50 question, multiple choice tests.
He was a good prof. but the course was still challenging. If I were to go back in time I would still take me. He is a nice guy. He knows his stuff.
Nice guy. Easy class all you have to do is study for the tests. They aren't hard just its an easy class with easy material that you think that you can blow off. He curves grades at the end which is good. Seriously if you study for the tests you'll get an A
Professor Ledrick was an extremely nice guy and I enjoyed his lectures, but his tests are harder than I thought they'd be. The study guides aren't always exactly what's on the test. There is never homework though. Only points are the tests and 10 one minute papers he gives (which are his attendance points). Still take him for sure.
Really enjoyed this class, he is a great professor. Make sure to go to class and take detailed notes on his slides because that is what is on the test. DO NOT buy the book, I never cracked it open. Tests were slightly harder than I expected them to be, but still reasonable.
Sweet guy. I found this class very interesting. His lectures were straightforward and he used a lot of personal stories to help the students understand the material. There are no assignments, only 4 exams. Best advice is to take lots of notes during lecture and study thoroughly with the book. Overall, I got an A-. Not too difficult.
If you have taken health classes in the past, this class is a nearly identical setup. Mr. Ledrick is knowledgeable and helpful. He keeps the lecture interesting by talking to the class and sharing real-life stories and examples. Go to class as much as possible. No quizzes. Slides. Use book to study for tests. Attendance is important.
Professor is great. The whole class is structured around 4 tests that make up your overall grade. I think this is a very poor way to structure a class, but if you are just looking for a class to fulfill the stupid gen ed requirements then this is probably a good choice.
Kind of a boring class, but the professor is awesome. Such a cool guy and makes the material fun to learn. Recommend this class.
This is a great course for non science majors. Extremely interesting lectures to people who are interested in health on a surface/lifestyle level. Reading is unnecessary -- don't spend money on the book. Print out notes and study guides from blackboard. Go to every class, take notes, and pay attention. Easy A.
He keeps class interesting for the most part. He makes the material really easy to understand. he keeps the class pretty light, with pretty much no homework other than studying for the exams. Sometimes exams had material that wasn't on the study guide, so be prepared for that. I would HIGHLY recommend this class, useful material and great prof!
good professor. The book is not needed as the exams are over the lectures. The final grade is a combination of 4 exams and attendance, so go to class. If you're looking to knock out a gen-ed I would suggest him.
This prof is very friendly and easy to talk to. He is helpful with any questions you have and good at responding to emails. He knows his material very very well and makes the class fun. I had it at 9:00 am and enjoyed going. You don't use your book often and there are pop quiz type things called one min papers.
YOU NEVER HAVE HOMEWORK! easy gen ed as long as you study for the tests; there are only 4. you never use your book just make sure you go to class and take good notes. he does attendance through one min papers which really give your grade a boost. i would def recommend taking prof ledrick
I found the class to be really laid back, and the subjects we disscussed were very interesting. But there are only 4 exams, and attendence counts toward your grade. If you aren't a good test taker like me, I wouldn't recommend this course. The teacher is kind of funny and really chill, but I never felt like I could come to him with any questions.
Jim is such a great prof. Easiest class of my life, never used the textbook although he says you will. All of the notes are in a powerpoint on black board. His lectures can be pretty dull, but Jim really makes the class. I'd highly recommend him for BMS100.
Amazing guy, whole grade is based on 4 tests, just study and youll be fine .
