A young techer that still cares about his students. lectures about what is on the test, whith good examples, which makes the class an pretty easy A if you have had any biology before
Very straightforward, tests have no surprises, gives lecture outlines. Interested in what he teaches, friendly. Light on homework, but is a memorization class, so get a study group=get an A. Recommended if can't handle a cadaver class.
very easy
This class is a challenge if you aren't willing to do the work, but if you are willing to do the work, he makes it very interesting and worthwhile, and he really cares about what he is teaching. Good class whether or not you are a biology major.

do your readings and study alot be aware of pop quizes
He gives lots of homework, but the good thing is the tests are derived directly from the questions. If you study, you will get an A. He breaks up the points different ways so no one test or quiz makes or breaks you.
he is a very good instructer
Very passionate about Biology, very knowledgeable, has an effective way of clearing up/explaining complex concepts. Nice, easy-going teaching style. Gives a printed syllabus at beginning of class defining what you must do. Labs interesting and worthwhile. Drops low grade in 3 of five testing areas.
Mr Ludden is awesome. He does have his daily quizzes, but they help motivate you to read. He explains concepts and the class really well. His class is really fun.
he is nice teacher. but the test are hard. if u pay attention in the class u will do fine. just do everything on time u will do fine
Very nice guy. Doesn't mind explaining things more than once. Tests hard, but fair. He covers all the material. Class is fun, he is very enthusiastic about bio. Also an admirable guy- he likes animals. Definitely take his class if you need to take bio.
vERY NICE PROFESSOR AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND.
Very passionate about biology, always willing to explain anything that you might have questions about after class. He makes his lectures and labs very intresting, actually made me want to go to them. Test can be kind of hard, but if you attend lectures and labs you will do good. Awsome Professor.
A&P 111 is much easier than 112. He doesn't go into 2 much detail in 112 b/c he doesn't have time 2 cover the material in class so he makes u cover it on ur own. He's teaching style is alright. Bottom line...study hard and u should do fine in his class. Make sure u prepare well 4 the practicals!
he is very passionate about the subject and has a good way to explain the hard parts. on his tests, though, sometimes the wording of the questions was misleading. lectures are a must to save some time studying. labs are hard and he quizzes every practical, but it makes it easier to understand. fair grading;
He's an awesome teacher. If you're going to take this class and you actually want to be able to retain the info you've learned, I'd HIGHLY reccommend this class. But it isn't easy by any means, so beware. (dun dun dun)
he is one of the best I ever had, wonderful teacher and very willing to help in any way he can. very informative, and makes sure you know the material
Great teacher! this class is obviously hard, it is a majors class! he offers extra credit. He gives a lab quiz every lab, but they r so easy, like:what will we be measuring today? study and u will do fine.He lets u know wat exactly will be on the test, he will tell u OK circle this b/c it will b on the test or 'X' this out it will not b on the test.
He tries to scare you off the 1st day, saying it's a hard majors course but if you do the work, study what he says, and attend class easy A/B. Great teacher loves his subject, always there for help and he lets us call him "Jimbo" in class

Mr. Ludden is just too sexy to focus in the class! OMG!!! But when i did pay attention, his lectures were awesome and very clear. He is so nice, and his teaching style is extremely fair. The class is very hard, and i thank god everyday that hes teaching it!!!!! OMG, did i mention how hot he is?
if you don't get an A or B in his class, then u aight doing any learning. you understand everything he says. thanks Jim Ludden
Excellent teacher
if you have to take this class take it with this teacher. he is amazing.
He is a great teacher! I loved his class. I wished that he taught more Bio classes.
He shows you exaclty what you need to know in the book and what to cross out in your text because you wont need to know it for any tests or finals.
Great lectures, great smile. Wonderful teacher with a positive attitude. He is extremely helpful and his grading is very fair. I highly recommend him.
He does a great job and makes the topic interesting. He is very fair and always willing to clarify. Cute personality. Had him for A&P I and II and was very thankful I did.
i loved mr. ludden!! he lets u know what to study and not study so it makes it a lot easier for you.. hes helpful when u ask questions and he is also very funny... its not exactly an easy class but as long as u study and pay attention, u should be okay... plus there is some extra credit... i would definately take him again!!!
jim was probably the best teacher i had while at cod. he has a great personality, and is very clear. without him as a teacher, A&P would have been impossible. whoever wrote that he sucks,is probably one of those kids that decided to start showing up for the first time a week before the final, if they would have shown up they would appreciate him!!
Really nice guy. Teaches right from the book which can be a good thing. Tests can be difficult if you don't study though, so study. Points can be made up with the lab quizzes which are so easy. Overall, great teacher!!!
Mr. Ludden is a great teacher-his class is very well organized and his expectations are clear and concise. He is readily available for help and is very patient-plus he is so cute and funny! Lecture is fun and interesting-I enjoyed being in class every day. I would recommend him to anyone! As long as you study hard-you will do great in this class.
really awesome. straight forward. helpful. jokes around.
This professor is GREAT!!!!! Nothing, I mean NOTHING is complicated or difficult. Keep up with the labs and lectures and I promise you that you will do fine. One more thing, do the exercises in the lab book and the lectue book......this will help even more. Definitely would recommend this prof. to U!
best teacher i've ever had!! he really cares about his students and wants everyone to do well.. he is very fair and expectations are clear.. also very funny and knows what he's talking about.. lectures and labs are easy to follow if you show up for class so it is not that hard to get an A or B
This is a teacher who is passionate about his work. He cares deeply about his students. He teaches out of the book and will tell you exactly what will be on the tests. He offers extra credit assignments. The labs are done in groups of 4. This is a fun class! If you do the work and attend class you will get a good grade.
Ludden maps out everything in a lab/lecture supplement. Everything you need to know for the tests is in there, but you have to buy it. One of my favorite teachers: easy to talk to, nice, and always available to help. The class is tough but the supplement helps a ton. He gives quizzes everyday and you get points for just going to lab. Great teacher
This teacher rocks. He is very caring and always willing to help. Tests are multiple choice but can be challenging. He is a good lab teacher and cares that you learn.
This teacher rocks. He is very caring and always willing to help. Tests are multiple choice but can be challenging. He is a good lab teacher and cares that you learn.
Great professor! He makes everything very clear and understandable. He's very likeable - makes little jokes throughout lectures and is good natured. Biology could be a lot more difficult, but he puts his all into teaching and is very passionate about the subject. Grading is fair, but you must do the work and study in order to do well.
He is a great teacher all around. The lab supplement is pretty much the bible in this class. Unlike other classes he gives you points for quizes, lab work, and extra credit which helps out HUGE in the long run. Hes brillant :)
He is cool. I like how he gives us little quizzes here and there to gain some points. It forces you to read but its good cuz then you remember the material better and disciplines you. He gives extra credit and is very helpful. I recommend him. Anatomy in general is difficult so just attend class and study and you wil be fine. Take him!
Wow, what a great teacher!! I cant believe he teaches at COD and not University of Chicago!! Smart as a whip, more than willing to help you with anything. There is no reason if you put in the effort you wont get an A, he even offers extra credit! I would recommend him to anybody!!
Lud is an awesome guy. He really knows his stuff and will give you all the help you need. You do have to show up and actually work to get an A in his class though. You must attend lab or you lose points for the class. I would highly tell everyone to take his class though.
A great teacher. If you strugle with concepts he will help you in anyway to understand the material. Grading is far but if you don't put forth the effort don't expect to do well.
The best teacher I have ever had. I was not interested in biology prior taking this class, now I know it?s going to me my major. You can tell this teacher knows his stuff and he?s very passionate about it. He?s very helpful and will tell you exactly what you need to know for tests. Would definitely recommend this teacher!
Professor Ludden is an excellent instructor, he's a warm, funny, helpful guy who is very understanding. The class itself is not easy but he does his best to make it possible for his students to pass by being very clear, going over the reading during lecture, providing a great outline for notes, and even offering extra credit. Take Jim for A&P!!
Extremely good teacher, very helpful, made class easier than the first time I took it!
I would highly recommend this teacher he is really passionate about this subject and is very good at teaching others. His grading is fair and as long as u study for his tests u will do well.
Ludden is the best pro. to take for A&P. he is not preduje toward any student and actually wants his students to pass. however to pass you need to study but he will not teach you anything that you dont need to know for a test.
He is an awesome teacher to have. Nice lab and good lectures.
Great Teacher! Would Recommend, if you want to learn! It is a alot of studying & work, but he makes it fun and easier!
AWESOME!!! He's great. The class material is difficult in some parts, he hands out "the a&p bible" :) which outlines the chapters you will go over. You will have to go to class every time but time does fly. You will also have to find a good way to study because this class is demanding.
hey was a awsome teacher im taking him again for A&P 1552. i would definity recomend him to anyone....He gives you the A&P "bible" it has everything you need to pass his class....as long as you look at that "bible" and you read and take some of your own notes in it you will pass his class.
Super nice, super smart, super cute...syllabus could be a little clearer and doesn't follow the textbook but overall a great guy and very helpful...gives extra credit
Prof. Ludden = ! I have had him for both 1551|1552. He wants you to learn & doesn't bore the lecture. The labs are pretty much the same, but can be packed with ++info. Offers extra credit and includes the A&P Bible which is excellent. You do have to read! 15 quizzes are given out of 26(ish) lecture days, it catches up. trust me. Enjoy the class :)
Great instructor, very clear on what students need to know for tests and lab practicals.
For all the science/environmental people, I would strongly suggest taking the trip to Canada with Prof. L. It's an amazing trip, cool stuff to learn and so beautiful. It's a nice way to kick off the summer. You do have to work for your grade but all out fun!!
Professor Ludden is the MAN! He is amazing at explaining things & takes a great interest in what he teaches. His labs are long & work-heavy, but nothing crazy. Tests are somewhat difficult -so study hard & pay attention to what he says during lecture. I don't think anyone could pass this class if they didn't show up to lectures - so it's not easy.
ughhh. idk how people gave him high ratings.. it was a hard class and now that the semester is almost done i only have a low C.. he does speak clear but his grading is tough especially when you have to memorize a lottaa!!! info for each test. BEWARE SAVE YOUR GPA!
Best teacher i ever had even though bio is really hard the labs are mandatory but class time isnt... great teacher
Fantastic Teacher! im a pre med student ive been through a whole horizon of science courses he is absolutely one of the best teachers. Class is structured very well, you know what to expect. Exams are fair. Like most bio/anat courses requires sufficient hrs per day studying! Got 86 percent taking him again next semester. oh and take with Cadaver
He's a very helpful teacher. Would recommend him!! He teaches very clearly and from the book. Tests are hard, but if you highlight the main points he gives in class you should be fine. Do recommend studying for the class. It's not easy. But he explains concepts very well! Would take him again.
Mr. Ludden is a nice teacher but the test he gives are realllyyy hard...but then again bio isn't easy. It would have been nice if he would have given out a study guide.
Professor Ludden is one of the best teachers. He definately knows what he is teaching, he is very helpful, very nice. I'm a pre-pharm student and I leared a LOT in this class. If you study you will like this class. But its not and easy A class if thats what your looking for!
Excellent professor. very clear and extremely knowledgeable. took both his anatomy sections with cadaver. not to be mistaken not easy class need to put in work. he is very organized and outlines exactly what you have to know! no surprises if you study what he shows you and have good memory you will get an A. Good person funny guy easy to approach
Nice guy, but not a very good teacher. He's not very organized at all, so to make up for it, he micromanages everything. It's not hard to get an A in his class, but you have to really stay on top of the reading. A very "meh" teacher overall.
ok i understand everyone thinks he is great and all, however, a great teacher should be able to answer questions about the lecture he is giving as suppose to just saying, read the book im not the one that needs to know it for the exam
Straightforward. Tells you what you need to know/study. Study for test. Complete Homework. Spend bout 15min studying for lab quizzes really easy.. VERY HELPFUL. No reason why you cant get an A. Not heavy course load. Do the minimu = Get an A. Good Luck
Not an easy class, save your GPA, difficult test, eavesdrop on students conversation in the hallway-then later makes snide remarks in class, micromanages, refers to book when asked a question. be careful do not take this class.
Ludden is an extremely nice prof and you can tell he truely cares. however, this does not make this class easy. he teaches straight out of the textbook and has you highlight. everything u need to know on the tests IS highlighted, however, half of the stuff highlighted you dont need to know. STUDY and you should get an A. easyyyy lab quizes.
I recommend Prof. Ludden to everyone. Lectures straight from the book. 4 tests which are covered directly in lecture. Generally late to class but finds a way to fit it in. Lab attendance is mandatory but lecture isn't. Gives a very easy EC assignment later in class that boosts the grade. Overall a very nice and easy to approach teacher
Take his field research trip
He is very helpful and actually cares about his students. He also lets you teach yourself in lab and doesn't lecture you till u wanna die. Always a plus :) I most deff recommend him.
My favorite teacher I have ever had. His lecture is very stream-lined, and he only teaches what is going to be on the test. He is extremely passionate about biology and it makes him adorable.
He is by far one of the best professors I've had.He truly cares about his students and is easy to follow. He only teaches what will be on the tests. In anatomy he gives unannounced pop quizzes on assigned readings but I really felt that that helped me learn even more. I plan on going into medicine or biology and I feel more prepared after this class
Professor Ludden has great passion for the subject and I truly believe his tests are fair and reasonable. As long as you put the effort in, you will receive the grade you work toward. I highly recommend this professor, as he is one of the best science professors i have had so far. :) he is always willing to help too!
Mr. Ludden was a pretty good teacher. He was usually late to class by approx 10-15 min. Tests were pretty straight forward from the textbook, yet they require a TON of studying. Attend each lecture, use post-its, & a pencil to underline/write the key points [Ludden tells you EXACTLY what you need to know for the test!]. Use those notes to study!!
Lectures were a drag. Tests were detail oriented but straight from the notes. We worked on our own during lab, so I only went for attendance points. Daily reading assignments. Pop quizzes over reading assignment. I didnt like that he quizzed us before teaching the material. Requires quite a bit of studying but easily passable, need to work for an A
Really Nice teacher. I could have definately gotten an "A", but it was my fault. His labs are very easy. All you have to do is read the assigned pages(about 2) and then he asks 3 questions on them. During lecture, he tells you exactly what to study for the test. The tests are easy because he tells you what you need to know. Really friendly too...
Great professor! Really clear and a fair grader! All tests multiple choice and fairly easy as long as you read the chapters. Very consistent with the book. Labs are extremely easy! TAKE HIS CLASS!! Also very nice, really cares about his students!
I think he is such a sweet guy and his class is hard, but thts bc anatomy is hard. He rlly puts a lot of effort for the students. He gives pop quizzes!!!
Overall good professor. Gives outlines every lecture and tests on exactly what is on them. He gives 'pop' quizzes on reading material not yet covered in class so reading is necessary. I got an A in his class and thought it was easy, but that's because I studied. If you're a committed student, this is the class for you. He's funny too.
LOVE Prof L. His tests are directly off his outlines. His tests are even organized by chapter and subject matter. He gives clear instructions on what to study on lab tests. I highly recommend him. Best teacher for an insanely hard subject matter. Can be convinved to give points back on tests if the questions are ufair.
Prof Ludden is an awesome professor. His lectures, as well as his notes were very clear. You do have to do some reading because thats what the quizes are based off. The test however come completly off the notes. Fair grader, I learned a ton in this class. However, this is still a difficult class so it does requre a lot of studying.
He is a great professor. He is enthusiastic about his teaching. Very good at explaining concepts that are not generally easy. Go o class and do your readings. Pay attention because he sometimes talks and it ends up on the tests.
While I thought Ludden took bio too serious I have to respect him. I had to work hard throughout the semester and he shows you how other professors are by not giving you anything without you actually earning it. If you want to learn and want to prepare yourself for a university take Ludden as he'll get you going on the right path. Quizzes are easy!
This teacher is a pain. Don't know what these other ppl are talking about. 15 POP Quizzes? Extremely difficult test. Quizzes you on obscure little factoids from reading. Stingy with EC. Keeps u after cuz he can't teach material in time allotted. A B is manageable but if you want a A, take McNally or someone else. Avoid! Don't listen to the others!
Enthusiastic about his work, quizzes cover main topics about readings, tests are incredibly simple and straightforward relative to material covered in class/in reading. Great professor.
- Quizes are all based on reading questions. quiz questions are the exact same questions. They are all pop quizes though. The rest of the class is simple. If you do your reading and pay attention you do great. Tells you what to know for tests based on lec outlines so NO surprises at all.Take him. You won't regret it.
he gives 15 pop quizzes over the course of the semester. They are not hard and you're allowed to drop your lowest two. He has lecture outlines that map out everything you need to know which makes studying easy. He's clear and kind. Any anatomy class will requires lots of study time, but he organizes it so that it's interesting and manageable.
Any anatomy course you plan on taking is going to require time in studying. He gives you everything you need to know in his lecture outlines and he teaches it in an engaging manner. His questions are straightforward and allows for a lot of other opportunities for practically free points. quizzes are actually quite helpful.
wonderful teacher, easy going ,easy grader, teaches a lot of material and help students a lot,if you wanna go to med university take him, very high level,he is awesome
Best best best .
Very clear about what he expects from his students. Pop quizzes drop lowest 2 and tests are from his lecture outlines and lab practicals are very straight forward. Tests were a bit tricky, but STUDY and you will pass I wish I was able to take him again for AP 1552.
You need to STUDY! He gives you the lecture notes you have to study so you don't need to take notes. The textbook is not NECESSARY because of the lecture notes he provides on blackboard, but it might help some. He gives popquizzes at least one a week but the questions are straight from the worksheet that you have to do every week!
Amazing teacher, wish he taught Anatomy 1572
Appearance-wise, he's enthusiastic and engaging during lecture. But in reality, he's repeating his prewritten lecture notes or from the book. For some, it helps to learn 3x, from notes, lecture, and book, most ppl can get away with just reading his lecture notes. There are pop quizzes on the lecture notes and most students leave afterwards.
Very enthusiastic teacher, but over complicates simple concepts with big words. You HAVE to study. A lot. But he's a merciful grader and wants you to succeed.
His lectures keep your attention, he gives you study guides. He has pop quizzes but they are only a couple questions and about the reading from the night before, as long as you show up to class you will never get a 0 on a quiz. What he expects from you he makes crystal clear. He is always willing to help when you ask for it. Great guy, great class.
lectures are kinda boring, he gives lecture notes tho so thats really helpful Pop quizzes, lecture exams, lab hw, practicals and final(pretty easy compared to his other exams)offers extra credit, does drop some low scores Always ends lectures on time Lab was kinda free for all and boring but he does tell u what exactly u need to know for practicals
Class is sort of tough, as expected. He makes it harder though. Overall, there are 12 lecture quizzes, 12 lab quizzes, 4 unit tests, and one cumulative final. This class is A LOT of work. He does offer extra credit (20 points). But you do have to work your butt off to get a good grade.
Everything you need to know to pass the class he gives you outright. Tests are based off the lectures you print, and if he didn't go over the material before the test he won't take points off. Attendance isn't mandatory, but there are lecture and lab quizzes every week; if you miss a day you might miss points. Extra credit helps 12 letter grade.
If you don't do good on your first 2 pop quizzes he talks to you and tells you this might not be the right class for you, it is to hard, take the 1100 biology. I have taken harder classes then this and passed with an A. It is not me, the professor expects to much from you! How can you have a quiz on the second day of class? I was there for 2 weeks.
He was clear at the beginning of the semester what his expectations were and holds tight to them. Class is optional, but there are 12 "pop" quizzes. Tests can be tough but if you read like you're supposed to and listen to his lectures, the class isn't too bad. If you don't understand something, just ask him. Very passionate and overall, he's great!
Dr. Ludden is a great teacher! He is passionate about what he teaches. He tests directly from lecture and lab outlines and is very clear as far as expectations. quite a few pop quizzes that consist of 2 questions that are out of assigned reading. If you follow his instructions you will pass!
He outlines everything that will be on the test weeks in advance, gives lots of small quizzes to give you points, gives extra credit, and will always expand on a topic if you're having trouble. He was really nice and helpful. You have to come to class to know what you'll need and do quizzes.
No homework which is great, gives outlines of each chapter, labs are super easy. As long as you show up and read over the outlines you'll do great on the exams. Gives random pop quizzes over the outlines so do them! Extremely knowledgeable, and gives extra credit as well! It's biology, all memorization, put in the effort & you'll be fine!
I had Ludden for AP 1 and I wish I had taken him for AP 2. He made it seem so easy and understandable. His notes were very easy to follow and forced you to pay attention in class. He was hands down one of my best teachers at COD.
Best teacher I've ever had. Hands down. Yes you have to read, but only for the pop quizzes. He has lecture notes available online and when you take a test, all you have to do is study from the lecture notes. Never any trick questions and never anything you didn't touch on in class. He is very organized, kind, and helpful. Take his class if you can.
Professor Ludden is the reason why I'm in love with biology. He explains everything crystal clear, if you still have any questions he will answer you with a smile on his face. I would suggest reading his outlines before the lecture, not only 'cause of pop quizzes, but it will also help you on the tests. I found his tests fairly easy IF you read.
You have to show up to class for pop quizzes. It is worth going to class, he explains everything very well and seems to love his job. He is really nice and happy to help. He is a great professor.
If I had showed up to class more often I would have gotten higher than a C, show if you show up for pop quizzes you will get an A. He explains everything very well and seems to love his job, but his lectures can extremely dry. He is really nice and happy to help and also offers extra credit.
I love professor Ludden! He sets you up to succeed, but then you have to put in the work to do well. If your looking for an easy class, this isn't it. But then again, no Anatomy & Physiology class will be easy! You have to keep up with the reading (his outlines help) and go to every class for the quizzes he gives. I highly recommend him!!!!!
If you value your GPA, do not take this teacher. He is extremely hard to know how to study for and his tests are extremely hard. He gives "outlines" and they are not helpful. They will be up to 14 pages long each and barely any of it will be on the test
Whatever you do, don't listen to the very few people who rated Dr Ludden badly. He is the most fair teacher I've ever had. He gives you literally everything you need to succeed. He is EXTREMELY organized and never puts anything on the test that isn't in the chapter outline, which he has available online. And he is incredibly kind! Highly recommend!
His lectures keep your attention. He has pop quizzes that are not really difficult, and as you show up to class you will never get a 0 on a quiz. What he expects from you he makes crystal clear. He is always willing to help when you ask for it. Great guy, great class. I really re omens him.
I have taken him for two semesters (1551 & 1552) and really learned so much. He is fair and provides outlines for each lecture. Inserting additional info into the outlines while listening to lecture helps and prepares you well for the tests. For lab practicals, he shows you exactly what you need to know. Buy lots of paper & ink - you'll need it!
Nice guy but very boring/ bad teacher really didn't learn anything in this class. lecture test are very confusing and hard. A lot of true false questions and a lot of reading. Get ready to not have a life.
Dr. Ludden was by far one of the best bio profs I've ever had. Yes, he has a lot of "pop" quizzes but if you read over the outlines he gives you and actually try to comprehend them, you will do fine. You can tell that he genuinely enjoys teaching and he is always available to help his studenst. Would love to take him again.
Makes lecture notes (5-11pgs) for each chapter that is covered, you are only responsible for the material in the notes. 12 pop quizzes through the semester on the material that is to be lectured on that class (need to read lecture notes before class). You need to put in a minimum of 10+ hours to be successful on tests. Test scores average low 70s
Whoever rates Dr. Ludden badly is ridiculous. He's honestly the best & most caring professor I've ever had. There's pop quizzes every week based on the reading due that day, he provides outlines for every lecture which his tests are entirely based off of. It's a heavy course that requires a lot of time. Put in the work/study hard & you'll be fine.
He is the best professor I've ever had! He is very nice, cares about you and is funny. I had him for a bio class and a study abroad class. An absolutely amazing man who loves his job. He loves teaches and is the light of the class. 10/10 recommend him.
Professor Ludden is a great teacher and he absolutely loves what he does. He makes class enjoyable, you just have to put in the effort as well. He provides outlines that you have to read to prepare for his pop quizzes, however let's you drop 2 lecture and 2 lab quizzes. He offers extra credit towards the end of the semester as well.
Great Professor you can see he is passionate by the way he teaches which makes class 10x more interesting. I would definately recommend him! To get an A study the lecture notes he provides because the test questions come from there! I passed with a B but could have gotten an A if I had just read the lecture notes and studied from there.
Professor Ludden really cares about your learning. If you have any questions he'll always make sure that you'll understand. Sometimes his lectures are long but he'll tell you what you need to know for the tests. If you want a good grade do all of the work and study, it'll definitely pay off! Overall, one of my favorite professors so far!
He was a great teacher! I loved his lecture portion, wasn't really a fan of his practicals. I'm use to a labeling concept and he uses a combination of labeling and questions but it wasn't impossible. He was sweet, funny and once you got a feel for his style it was easier to study.
Hes very nice. The lectures werent super engaging which made class boring at times but he cares about his students. His exams are pretty straight forward and based off his lecture packets. The book helps but I still got a good grade without reading it much. Its not an easy A but definitely not impossible to pass. Just study everyday!
Prof. Ludden gives lengthy lectures but uses real-world examples/enthusiasm to hold engagement. He is reasonable, fair on grading, light-hearted and kind with students. Ensure you use materials provided for exams and attend class for pop quizzes/attendance. Labs can be unorganized and drag, but all material is clear once it is up and running.
Professor Ludden was a good professor but was VERY lecture heavy. Every class was so boring I never ended up going to it, which explains my grade. Course was not hard really I just lost all motivation towards the end of the semester. You play quizlet after every lecture, and if your team is one of the top three you get 2 extra credit points.
Professor Ludden gave a lecture outline that gave students exactly what to learn for the lecture tests. Go to all the classes and labs. He offers extra credit opportunities. Ask questions if you have them. Tough grader, but possible to pass if you study and put in the work.
I personally really enjoyed this class, he puts effort into finding content to watch, on top of material like pre-lecture stuff and outlines. I personally used this outlines heavily and studied them and I did just fine. I think effort is needed though to understand the content, its not something you can breeze through.
Really great professor. When there is extra time in lecture, we do Quizlet lives, which I enjoyed. He gives lots of resources and his lecture outlines are basically what you need to know on the test. The slides are just as good as well. Very caring professor and curves almost all tests. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Overall, great professor.
Awesome professor, TONS of extra credit (I accrued 65points more then enough to push you up a grade) always gives a couple of points on test to curve the grade. Gives lectures outlines that the test are going to be on, and hints on what is going to be on the test. Easy A with a little bit of studying. 10/10 would recommend.
PLEASE take Professor Ludden. He is caring and really wants you to succeed. The class does require work, but as long as you study and put in the effort, you will do fine.
If you can take Dr. Ludden's field study, DO IT! He's an amazing prof, down to earth, fun, and he wants to see his students succeed. His field study classes are amazing and super information-rich. I've learned so much from Jim, he's easily one of my favorite professors at COD.
Great teacher. He gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. He lectures a lot but he always gets through all the material we need. He gives us plenty of resources to study from like lecture outlines. Show up to class and pay attention and the class isn't hard. Definitely recommend.
I just left last review, had Prof. Jim Ludden in Spr2024. Level of difficulty was 2. If you read the outlines & PP and take notes, you should pass with a high grade. This professor cares about his student and as long as your communicating with Prof. Jim Ludden he's there to support the students. Take advantage of the extra credit given (easy). Vel
I took Anat.1572 with Prof. Jim Ludden Spr2024, I felt his grading & way of teaching was easy provided you're willing to do your work. Which consist of reading the assigned material. Prof. J Ludden is beyond fair and he gave an extra credit assignment that aide a lot with the studying for final exam. If you study you will pass with a high grade.
Professor Ludden is engaging and passionate. His lectures provide helpful outlines and hints for exams. Attendance is a must, and using unstuckstudy along with the textbook can really help boost your grade. Overall, a great class with the right effort.
Professor Ludden is one of the best professors at COD. While his class is lecture heavy and some exams and labs can be difficult, he makes every opportunity to get extra points in class, on exams and on labs. He even gives hints during labs. He is also very willing to help out students and genuinely cares about your success. Take him if you can.
The professor was transparent with what would be on the test. I highly recommend taking him.
He is an excellent professor who provides numerous opportunities to earn extra credit. He is very fair and genuinely loves what he does, and he teaches well. If you don't do well in his class, it's because you didn't study. I'd take any course he teaches.
