Not being a big math fan, I was a bit nervous especially taking an online math course. But the class was well written and easy to follow. His Course notes are great and clarify where the book could not. He responded to all emails promptly. He made grasping the concepts easy for me.

Took this class online and I'm not good at math so I found it very difficult. Tests had alot of word probelms and if you are good at math or you have a friend who is good at math you will do fine. Class consists of 11 test 10-20 questions you can do them all in one day if you want.

This class was great! The best part is that you can work at your own pace. If you need help, he is always available to answer questions through the discussion board. But if you know the material already, you can take all the quizzes and exams in a couple of days and be done with the class! I wish all classes were like this! Thank you!

If you're taking this class for medical majors, choose him! Instead of learning functions, you'll learn more on-the-job functions to prepare you from making serious mistakes. Easy class if you know how to read instructions. A must if you'll be choosing a medical career.

I enjoyed this math class and I don't even like math! Very interesting class and instructor follows the textbook. If you do all the practice problems you will do well on quizzes.

I took his online math 100b class and LOVED it! All quizzes and tests are available on the 1st day of the semester. Quizzes and tests are easy too if you read and understand the mateials.I highly recommend taking his class!

He wasn't that bad. Class was very easy. He worked with you on trying to get a better grade. I took it online.. Make sure answers are inputted exactly right.. gives you a break the first time.. but be careful. Easy Easy Easy..... Oh, and make sure you email him in the right place.. or else! haha

Great class! It began with an easy review of basic math skills but was challenging at the end. The Prof was great. He was quick to answer questions but let you work ahead if you wanted to.

Enjoyed the class. I took the class online and it was fine as long as you do the practice and review questions. He is extremely helpful with explaining any questions the students have. Response is pretty fast. Would highly recommend this class as refresher course.

Took online. Very black and white! No late quizzes! You can't make them up! Easy material. I learned well from the interactive CD-ROM. Sounds dorky, but it worked. Would recommend!

Just finished the course, and got a B. This is a miracle for me, math is my kryptonite. Mr Matovina was very helpful and prompt in responding to any questions I had, and seems to be the same way for other students. I recommend him, for sure! Thanks for easing my math fears and taking away my hatred of online courses!

Mr Matovina is an excellent professor.I took this class in summer of 09 w/ a different prof, was totally lost because my previous prof was not helpful at all, and even while in class while teaching, she would have numerous mistakes while trying to explain, which was no help and I got a D, now I got an A this time with Mr. Matovina's help.

I recommend taking his class! Such a great professor! He explains everything so clearly, he makes learning math interesting and easy to comprehend. I have been recommending him to all of my classmates who are about to take this math course.

It was an on-line math class for medical calculations. He kept us very informed about text info, and his on-line office hours, in case we needed extra help. He even had face-to-face office hours he kept up with. Always quick to answer e-mails, or questions posted on the discussion board. I highly recommend prof. M., he was great!!

Taking the course rite now. The course is online. Mr. M is great. He answers e-mail fast. He wrote the book and puts it on his website for free.

Good teacher, but extremely strict. 10 questions per quiz, 1 quiz a week, one attempt. I'm taking the online course. He answers questions quickly, but is very mechanical. It's possible to get an A, but rather difficult if you have a hard time with math -especially online. I would recommend taking this course on campus.

Mr. Matovina is great. Taking math online has been difficult in the past, but he makes it easy, and is more than willing to answer questions, discuss quizzes, and help you understand the material. He's a great teacher, and I'm glad I took the course with him.

He is extremely strict, which is good considering the subject of the course. Quizes are 10 questions, simple scale. There are no make ups, no excuses. He offers online class meeting times if you need help, and discussion postings, book is easy to understand/use.

I took his class online and it's pretty easy as long as you give yourself enough time to do the homework and fully understand the work. If you have a hard time in math, I would recommend that you actually attend the class on campus. It was mostly teach yourself and just go online whenever you needed to complete homework/tests.

This Prof. uses textbook he has written and teaches what is relevant. Quizzes weekly, open-book. Questions from the concepts learned. After taking in-class Math 120 2 times and being unsuccessful, this Profs methods really works! I was finally able to graduate! Try to take this class.

Just finished his online math class for health sciences. He puts together slides for you for each chapter. Good with e-mail responses. Does not allow makes ups for any reason but opens all quizzes and tests so you can work ahead if you want. Easy course...would recommend!

Teacher was great. I found the class to be easy, but I also actually like Math. The book is written in the most simpelest terms. Read the couple or so pages, make sure you understand the homework (not graded by the way)and the test was easy :) Highly recomended

I got a C because I missed 6 weeks of class because of a family situation, but I was only 4 points away from a B. His class is super easy thanks to the book that he provides for free. Very well written and describes concepts clearly. He's always available to help any student in need, even if you aren't currently taking his class. Total class act.

Took spring online class. Highly recommended! 12 quizzes, 3 exams, 6 chapters. 8 chapters in the book and 1-6 were covered. Quickly responds to email/msgs. Very helpful teacher. Book is inexpensive. HW isn't graded, but it certainly helps to do. Exams/quizzes take questions straight from book. This course applies a few real world math applications.

Fun class and very practical for everyday life. Make sure you go every day - especially toward the end. He wrote the book and put it in the bookstore for $25 - good book, too.

I'm taking the 8 week online summer class and it is so easy! 12 chapters, 1 quiz per chapter, midterm & final. He lets you work ahead so I'm already done with the class after 3 weeks. He is very helpful and very responsive to questions. I wish I could take more of his classes!

His textbook is amazing. Hands down best Math textbook I have ever used. He wrote the book, its super easy to understand. I usually hate math but I really liked his class, it was easy to follow and keep up. Nice guy and funny. Do all the work and study the book, will get you a good grade. plus you might accually learn something.

Very easy class. No homework due. Just look at the textbook and do the exercises at the end of each section. They are optional, but they help a lot. Also keep up with your quizzes and exams. I forgot to take an exam one week and unfortunately that will lower my grade significantly. No makeup quizzes or exams. He didn't let our class work ahead.

Great prof. He is a genius, they way the book is written it is so easy to understand. I love math but this math class has to be my favorite. This is math that can always be used throughout life. This is a self-taught class. You need to make time to study. I used YourTeacher (college pre-algebra) app to get through this class. Instructor includes videos, but this app really gave me the info I needed. You get two tries with each exam. Learned enough to be educated on a wide variety of concepts.

I am by no means a fan of Math, and I was dreading having to finally bite the bullet and take a math course... Thankfully I was pleasantly surprised! Professor Matovina's course was awesome and helped me make sense of the second language I call Math. Study his material and ask questions and you will do just fine. Great Teacher!

Four quizzes no proctored testing. Two hours for each quiz. 20 questions on each quiz. Two attempts at each quiz. Non transferable call but will fullfil AAS graduation. Don't buy the book it is offered for free in the canvas class. Pass with 70 on each quiz you pass. No homework to be submitted.

Tests are tough. If you be present you will understand the material and you will pass. If you don't go ,don't wait too much. He is tough, hard but fair. You will learn a lot and get ready to study. Excellent lectures, he is smart and kind of rude with his students. Overall a good professor.

I hate math! It's always been very hard subject for me. But taking this class online was not as bad. His book explains things well and he had videos that helped. He's is a great professor and if you don't understand he is approachable. You do have to work the book problems, it helps in the exams, and you get 2 tries. I'm taking him again for 120

Class was very easy to handle. Quizzes are due every other day class is not held(ex. Tues/thurs). Your grade is solely based on your quiz grades. Open notes are allowed to be used. Powerpoints are posted on Canvas to look through at any time which I found very useful.

He wrote the textbook & it is great. 8 week accelerated class with 4 to 5 quizzes each week. No homework grades. Do the homework to practice which makes sure you do well on quizzes. Each is only 5 questions. 4 out of 5 gets 80%. 3 out of 5 gets 60%. Bad quiz scores mount up quick. Must get 5 out of 5 for A. Loved the format. Take this class.

Math is my weakest subject and the 8-week accelerated course had me panicked the first two weeks because I haven't done any of this math in 15 years. But I finished class 2 weeks early with the first "A" I've ever received in a math class. 2 to 3 quizzes/week. 2 attempts each quiz. Textbook was $10. And my math confidence has improved! Go Matovina!

I took a summer class on MATH 104. Very easy and understandable. It was an eight weeks class and had 20 exams in total. Some of them were a little hard, but most of them super easy. I was able to take all the quizzes in advance, so everything was done at the 3rd week. Really quick email responses. I would recommend his online class for sure.

Took this class for summer. Went by so fast typically 2-3 quizzes a week. I would advise if you haven't been in school for awhile and math isn't your best subject ask for help or tutor. The videos and examples sometimes aren't that clear. But overall good class. Your allowed to take 2 quizzes just incase you fail the first one you have another shot

Great online class. I took the 8 week course and didn't feel overwhelmed at all. Syllabus was clear and followed exactly. Read a section, take a 5 question quiz. No final or midterm. You can retake up to 4 quizzes at the end of the semester if you wish.

Seriously the best math teacher ever. I went into this class not knowing a single thing but came out with an A, because 1) he's a good teacher and 2) he's the best at explaining problems that I have ever experienced. He's straight forward with his work. Show up and get stuff done, he'll make sure you're taken care of.

Summer, online, accelerated class. If you take any accelerated class, be ready to work. Mr. M. keeps tabs on the students and even emailed me to see if I was OK after I missed a quiz. He also answered my emails quickly.

very easy ! The way he sets his quizzes may be to overwhelming at first but you can retake it twice and you can be ahead and finish a quiz a week earlier and move forward to the next. He's very helpful what ever questions you have right away he will response very happy I took his class.

Consider yourself lucky if you get Professor Matovina. I am not especially fond of or good at math, and he made a condensed course more clear and understanding than full course loads I've had in the past. There are videos, practice, a worksheet with answers, to prepare you for the tests. The textbook is also extremely helpful and not too lengthy.

Very clear & easy - there was no final nor midterm exam. Just four online exams at the end of each chapter. Be sure to always be in class and submit the worksheet at the end of it - they are super easy, answers are posted on Canvas and they account for the attendance.

There aren't enough characters allowed in this review for me to say how amazing this professor is! He caters to all types of learning and offers little games for you to use to study. There is a quiz due every day but no final and you can work ahead. He really teaches and makes the best instructional videos. Hands down, best guy in CSN's math dept.

Took the math 120 8 week course. He wrote the book you use and if you have any questions he responds pretty rapidly. Theres a quiz pretty much everyday/every other day during the week but you can stay ahead and theres no midterm or final. As long as you read and do the study guides and games he posts in canvas, its an easy pass.

The best math teacher I've ever had! I have always struggled with understanding course material in math classes, however his online instructional videos are phenomenal. I learned more from him in ten minutes online than I have with any other in class lesson. I highly recommend!

I dreaded Math! I was horrified for an online Math course because sometimes you have to teach yourself... not with this professor. He provided really videos lectures & fun interactive games to practice. Easy online format and everything was relatable. He is also hilarious. Responds quickly& is constantly emailing important information & fun facts.

He is a solid teacher. I am not very good at Math, but being in his class made me understand his lectures easier. He gives all the quizzes and they are open when classes begin and you can do them ahead of time. No Midterm or Final. He responds quick to emails and reminds you of your quiz for the day. Book has 8 chapters, chapters have 5 sections, each section has a quiz - 5 questions each, pulled from scenarios in the book. He provided worksheets and video lectures for each section. No final. Mr. Matovina is an awesome teacher! He is quick to respond via email and answers questions even if you are a few chapters ahead of the class. You can purchase a book, but provides a digital copy of the book for free!

I took him online and it was a bit of a struggle, mainly because math isn't really my strong suit. But he's always willing to help and explain the problems if you have trouble. I took math 120 and it was super easy. He doesn't have exams, just a quiz due each class. Attendance wasn't mandatory but I highly recommend watching his recorded lectures that he posts at the end of each class. He's very interactive with students during his lectures and was very friendly. He also replies to messages really fast!

Really easy course with a great professor! All assignments were available from the start of the semester so its made it much easier for me to work school around my full-time schedule. Materials were easy to find, organized by chapter and module. No big tests. One homework assignment and one quiz per module and an extra credit quiz at the end!

Professor Matovina is just great! He will help you out if you ever need anything. His lectures are funny and he tries to make them fun! I took the online course and it was an easy A. There are video lectures and you dont have to be present for them. Theres a online textbook. He's a good professor. You don't have to attend lectures. They are recorded. However, it is really helpful to at least watch them, because he goes over example quiz questions. It seems like he really cares about his students and for a math class it wasn't incredibly difficult.

He's kind, funny, easy to understand & happy to explain things as often as needed, & wants you to succeed. 1 HW & 1 quiz per week, HW you could do as many times as you want, & could retake 1 quiz per chapter. This professor was amazing. I always struggled in math but Mr. Matovina provided an online textbook for free, sent reminders on due dates, had videos for each unit, and also provided exercise packets for each homework to get a better understanding before the quiz. If you complete the quizzes and the homework's on time & you will get a good grade.

Profesor Matovina is awesome. This was my first math class in 13 years and before that I had failed almost every math class I had taken. Math is by far my worst subject and I was DREADING having to take this course. But Matovina made it simple, easy to understand, and easy to complete. I got a B and I am now looking to take Math120 next Spring.

If you're not the best with math, I'd take him. Theres 1 HW & 1 Quiz due every week. The book is free and he provides a lot of links to help you understand. I was worried about taking an online math class but he was amazing and made things very easy for me.

TAKE HIM. I suck at math but I easily got an A without asking help. He provides the textbook and youtube videos on each topic. Unlimited attempts on homeworks which you can learn from to use on the quizzes which are pretty much identical. He lets you retake or makeup one quiz from each section. Provides office hours if you need additional help.

I'm terrible at math but Matovina's class was really easy. This is my third math class after taking pre-calc and I got a C+. His textbook is embedded within the lecture and he divides them by PowerPoint! Class is organized and gives a chance to retake at least one quiz from each section. Got an A! Chegg helps with his class :)

Math has never been my strong suit but I was able to pass this class with an A and it was all because this professor genuinely cares for his students. He makes sure that you understand the material and gives good feedback. The textbook is free and there's 1 HW and 1 Quiz due each week. 10/10 recommend!

I took Math 120e and it was the most easiest class out of all the class I took. If you take his class in person, Monday class will be mandatory so you can do activities. I enjoy this professor so much since he makes it easy and understandable. Gives the best feedback and you can do missing assignments by coming to his class.

I had Matovina as my Math 120E class. He was a very nice and helpful teacher. He gave lectures every Monday and he was clear on his topic and he cared if you needed something from him. He gave good real-life examples during his lectures. If you made a mistake on an activity or quiz he would say in the comments what you did wrong. Best math teacher!

I've always struggled with math throughout highschool, but professor Matovina applies what we learn in the class to real life scenarios which helped me understand tremendously. Professor Matovina teaches math in very easy to understand ways. I appreciated his efforts to make everything as simple as possible to ensure students are gaining the correct fundamentals. As someone who struggled in math growing up, I excelled in this class because he teaches real world, useful, logical math. Highly recommend his approach!

I loved this professor—he is very caring and genuinely wants his students to succeed. The class is fairly simple as long as you turn everything in on time. He communicates with the class a lot and is always clear about expectations.
