i found geography 104 to be an easy class. he's a very funny teacher and gives clear lectures with good stories.

Excellent teacher very humorous, beware his tests are not easy, but if you like some challenge and a great lecture than go for it!

He's a good teacher and just like Drover, he's funny and witty. If you're a political conservative you might want to watch out - he'll challenge the basis for your views and with good reason. Tough tests but I always looked forward to his class.

His Lecture is really fuuny, but not too easy exams

Lectures are helpful and he points out what will be on the test.If you go to class and pay attention, you'll get a good grade.He drops the lowest score and the final is an essay.

Very annoying if you don't like his political views, which he threw into almost every lecture. Funniest teacher I've ever had. Tests are easy if you study. No HW, and attendance was optional for the most part. Not too bad.

His lectures are so interesting, and I love the fact that he is passionate about the subject, he's well rounded and actually knows what he's talking about, his exams are hard but he lets you know what you need to study, I enjoy coming to class, he's great

i enjoyed going to class. he's very passionate with his teaching. this man loves the earth. tests are hard. started w/ a C but ended w/ an A. His test are all the same. memorize what he asked you to and know the terms. if you know the terms you should be able to figure out the rest of the test.

I had him early in the morning so sometimes it was hard for me to stay awake. He had a fun personality but as everyone said...hard tests. I did decent and he does give you some questions and lots of terms. Don't miss too many days though...that'll bite you in the butt!!

He is extremely entertaining. His lectures are engrossing and go by very fast. He tells you exactly what will be on the tests so if you go to the lectures and look over the sections he mentions, the tests should not be hard. One of the most interesting teachers I've ever had.

it's very difficult sitting in that lecture hall listening to him talk, but he's a great guy.

His notes in class are helpful, but his syllabus tells you EVERYTHING that will be on the test. As long as you follow that, you will be fine. There are a lot of notes to take, but he tries to make it as interesting s possible. He has a very cute personality

i ended up with a b because of the essay exam. he is a fair and wants the best for you. i would have died if i didn't have friends in the class with me.

This man is passionate about teaching. He's very knowledgable about the subject and sometimes tends to give you too much info. His grading curve is very leanable. You get to drop the lowest of 4 tests and a 65% is passing in his class. Great man!

He is so entertaining and I learned a ton! I'd have to say he's my favorite teacher. I wish I could take the class again.

He maybe old but he always has some jokes. I had his class during my first semester at GWC and it wasn't too hard. He makes it interesting with his power point stuff. The man is nuts!

Teacher is very good at explaining things and great at teaching, I just find the subject matter EXTREMELY difficult and very challenging. It's not as easy as I thought, we cover complex issues like ocean currents, trade winds, solstices, it's kinda challenging, not an easy class.

He's wonderful. I love his lectures, and he knows how to keep students engaged. He's funny, very clear, and interesting. His class has been very enjoyable.

What A Great Teacher!!! He is very funny and knowledgeable. He never stops talking during lecture, but if you pay attention to what he says and take notes, you wont have any problems on exams, which are mostly from lectures. I learned really A LOT from him!!! GOD I love this guy!!!

All you have to do is show up and listen. Do not read the book, just study maps, major qualities, and terms. Garanteed B

i <3 mr. reck... he's all energetic and old. throws things during lectures, gets overly excited. exams are easy if you study ur lecture notes and know the maps.

he's cool!! test is a lil hard but all based on lectures and textbook. He always tell interesting story, keep me not boring, he's fun!

I took History 150 Online. Difficult for people who are not good test takers. He seemed to be as helpful as possible being that it was an online course

A great teacher!! He has traveled all over so he lives Geography- its not just out of a book. Energetic, funny, great at giving relatable examples in class. If you take good notes and follow is outline for what parts of the book to read you will do well. Wonderful for help outside class. All around wonderful teacher and interesting person!

Great teacher!!! Energetic and funny especially for his age- gives the best Study Guides of any teacher I've had- tells you EXACTLY what to know- part book part lecture but easy if you read the guide. Attendance not mandatory, but you get points if you do go. Interesting lecures and very approachable!

Loved him! I took this to satisfy a requirement and thought I would hate it. He was such a pleasure to learn from. You are not going to breeze through this class, it took work to get an A.

its hard to describe this class. he was halarious but boring, but really.. how interesting can geography be? i fell asleep when i did go but attendance is NOT mandatory. your grade is based on 5 tests (drops lowest one) so if your not a good test taker, DONT take this class! i learned the hard way seeing as im a HORRIBLE test taker.super nice tho=)

i dont think people realize that there are 9 Reck brothers. ALL are teachers. Hist 190 online is awesome and so is Geo. i had both this semester however if your not a good test taker dont take their classes cuz thats all they base your grade on.

This online class was awesome. READ THE BOOK and you will do great. Professor was always available via email and message board. Super nice, I wish I had taken his geography class.

Jim Reck is a great professor. He is very passionate about the topic & as long as you follow his lectures, you should do well on the tests. 4 m/c exams & 1 essay exam - drops lowest score. He even tells you which portions of the text to read. I got an A on the first 4 tests so didn't have to take the final.

oh man i love him. you can tell he really enjoys teaching. his test are detailed but he tells you on the syllabus exactly what to expect... its just up to you to study.

One of the best professors I've had in my college career. I was ready to give up at school and Jim Reck inspired me to continue at CSULB and earn my bachelor's in environmental science/geography. Now I'm enrolled in an environmental science masters program and am considering a PhD program in the future. Pay attention, read the book, learn something

Does not take attendance but it is a MUST if you want to pass the class. Best 4 out of 5 test scores. No curves. No extra credit. Fifth test is an essay exam. Very laid back. Easy. Just attend the his lectures, listen attentively, take good notes, read the required readings, and you should be set.

He is an excellent professor, because of his knowledge, experience, and teaching skills. His tests are difficult and you must read and attend his lectures if you want to pass. My only problem with him is how he indoctrinates his students with his very liberal point-of-views. He's an intellectual liberal that brainwashes his students during class.

I can say that I had no interest in this subject so I didn't invest my time into studying. After taking the fourth test, I ended up with a C. The fifth test is an essay, not at all difficult. With this class, you really have to pay attention and study the book thoroughly. In my opinion, I don't think I would take a class like this again.

A really fun teacher who enjoys the subject. The lectures are interesting because he has lots of traveling stories included. After taking his class I actually want to see more of the world. Most of the test is based on the textbook, read the book and you'll do fine on the tests. Four tests with optionally essay that is easy.

Mr. Reck is very sweet and helpful. I thought he was a little unorganized. You have to read the book in order to get a good grade on the test. He tells you the pages to read and what you need to learn. It was a difficult class, but this is the hardest subject for me. I ended with a B because he has a great grading system. Mr Reck is a super adorable older man who happens to be a fun teacher to learn from. He has many wonderful stories - mainly about Africa - that he incorporates in his lecture. Most of the information in his tests are from the textbook, so you'll want to be familiar with it. Read, study, review, do the assignments, and there will be no problem passing.

Prof Reck is one of the best geography professors I have ever had. He gives great examples during his lectures and will clarify things if one doesn't understand. Although lecture is not mandatory, I recommend it if you want to get a good grade at all. Take his class if you want someone who really appreciates the subject. He's also a nice guy!

I didn't have too much of an interest in physical geography before taking this class, but Mr. Reck made it interesting. It is true that it requires a lot of studying and taking notes, but if you do all that you should pass with a decent grade. I learned A LOT. I recommend it 100% but don't expect an easy A.

NOT AN EASY A. Reck is so cool, but his tests were hard. If you take the class: 1) buy the book, don't rent it. 2)Read before you come to class. 3) Take the class with friends, make a study group. 4) STUDY! You wont pass if you don't put extra effort to understand.

Very nice, warm-hearted professor but his exams were extremely hard. I had to withdraw in order to save my GPA, and I have to return to this course to make it up some other time. If you're not interested in the class-drop it ASAP or don't enroll. Reading is extensive and sometimes requires multiple readings in order to understand.

the class is hard but the teacher is nice. he tries his best to make his point as clear as he can. i suggest take very good notes and use it as a guideline when reading. you would definitely need to read for this class.5 test and he drops the lowest. or you can miss two test and the final would can as 2 test.

Professor Reck is the coolest professor in the world. Hes hilarious and he has a million stories. I took his class because it was all i could get into but it turned out to be my favorite class. His powerpoints and lectures are very entertaining. The tests are hard but if you read the book and take good notes you will do fine. TAKE HIM

I have taken this Reck for 2 different classes. he is a great teacher, but his tests are VERY hard. if you want to pass (at minimm) go to every cass and take very detailed notes. he doesnt take role and he is very interesting.. like i said, his tests are extremely difficult and its hard to get an A

Totally the greatest I've had. Awesome guy, been teaching for a long time, and his teaching style rocks. Uses entertaining powerpoints, but enhances his teaching rather than replaces it. Always starts off the class by taking you around the world and then ties it into the lesson. Always gives you specific page #s to study if you choose to. RECOMMEND

This was not an easy class but I managed to get a C. I did attend class, he is so nice and funny. He is passionate about the subject so that was helpful. I did have to study for test but he gives you all the information you need. Do NOT skip class and study and you will pass! I gave him a chili because he wondered why he didn't have one :)
