The class was alright, he tried to make it interesting. There were two exams and a paper, but none of them were difficult as long as you show up for the class (he uses the same examples).

Sanford is the man. He is such a good prof, giving great examples at all times from his own personal experiences in law. Honestly, one of the first classes in my life that I can sit through and not be bored out of my mind, it's that interesting.

GREAT MAN! This was one of my favorite courses. He genuinly wants to help people, not just so they do well in his class, but also in life. Tells great stories. One may think a class like this would drag, but it never did. I am honeslty sad to say that I won't have him next semester. Take him, study what he says, and you will love this class!

I really enjoyed this class. Interesting stories from this man. He's a little mono-tone at times but overall a great teacher. His tests are a little tricky but if you know the handout that he gave you, you'll do well.

Awesome prof, for all the people who have to take BUS 201 take this guy. Expect to work in the class and on tests though he gives you outlines he made up that covers everything on the tests very well (other profs don't). Great stories, make sure you go to class.

DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! He's created an outline (which is about $90 cheaper than the book) and that's pretty much all you need. Very entertaining. He tells stories that help you understand the concepts and then those same stories (though a little different) are on the tests. If you attend lecture and study the outline, you'll do fine. Great guy too.

The class was a lot of reading over and studying notes. But he's relatively clear on what you'll be tested over. He actually cares that you learn things and he's a great professor. He'll keep you interested and he's always helpful and willing to give you examples to understand his point.

He goes over it in class and explains what everything means. If you study the packet for his exam, this class is a piece of cake. There is no homework, just the exams.

LOVED this class. What a fantastic teacher.He is funny and interesting, very friendly. I learned a whole lot and gained a major interest in law that I didn't have before. I never dreaded this class. The whole grade is based on 2 tests though so if you're not a good test-taker, it might be tough for you.

I am a bad test taker so I did bad in the class but sanford made sure I passed because I made it to every class and participated. If you show him that you try a little he will not let you fail. I suggest taking him because he's a great prof and a great person and his class is not hard to go to because his discussions are engaging. Tests ARE hard and you must go to every class. Understanding the material as it is being presented is key. If you don't go to all of your classes, listen intently throughout class, and get help, DO NOT TAKE HIM.

I am not one to attend every class but after failing the first exam I realized that I really need to, and once I started going I realized the class was actually really interesting. He is super nice and since I got an A on my midterm, he is willing to give me a B in the class. Take him, very clear and helpful if you are willing.

Hard class, grade based on three MC tests. Dont buy the book, his handout is all you need. Memorization is key in this class, and if you have any interest in law it is perfect. His real world stories were awesome and interesting and you cant beat his laugh. expect to work in this class though, but worth it

Prof. Sanford is possibly the best professor I've had at GVSU. His stories make business law surprisingly interesting and relevant. Attendance is mandatory, but class is always interesting and he lets you out 10-20 mins early. GREAT PROFESSOR!

Professor Sanford is so awesome!! Yeah, attendace is not manditory but for his lectures, you SHOULD be there. He practically tells you the answers on the test, he spells it out so clearly. He's a teacher you like to listen to because his whole class lecture is virtually story time!

This is the best prof I have ever had. He's one of those prof's that truly cares about his students. The textbook is his 2 seasonal notes that cost $8.00 in the bookstore. Though your entire grade is based on the 3 exams, there really is no need to freak out. Sanford gives you exam review guides that tell you exactly what is on the exam.

Great teacher who makes a boring topic entertaining. I got a D on the first test and ended up with an A- in the class. He has simple guidelines and gives good life lessons. If you're looking for an easy class to go along with a heavy workload, this is it.

You don't use a textbook but you do use his lecture notes. If your literate and go to class you should do well. For those who get lower than a B in this class I have to wonder why youre doing so poorly. He goes out of his way to let you know exactly what is on the test. Unique class in that he gives you his lecture notes in book form and lectures around those. Has a very ethically-positive approach to business law. Tests can be tricky for some people because they're all story problems based on the material, but he does help prepare you greatly, and wants everyone to do well.

Sanford is a very funny professor! Your grade is based on 3 exams (which in my opinion are difficult and I am an A student) but KNOW THE EXAMPLES he provides in class as you will be tested on them. Attendance is mandatory if you want a decent grade. I would say that 70% of the students received a C+ or lower. Studying is necessary.

Good professor. Go to class and pay attention,jot down all the outcomes of the cases, sometimes they are in the notes, sometimes not, but its best to have them just in case. Other than that pay attention to his stories and study by reading the notes at least 2 or 3 times before the test. Expect to study about 4-5 hours before each test.

By far the best professor I have had in college! Go to clss pay attention, and really listen to his lectures. First exam is the hardest, but if you pay attention and put forth effort studying you will learn a great deal.

He is pretty funny in class at times but boring the rest of the time. Takes the test questions from the book, but twists them. Hard tests and its all your graded on. Makes it hard to do well in his class if you mess up one test. I still recommend him though.

Great professor. Sanford teaches the class very understandably, going page by page from the lecture notes. He is a really funny guy, and has some cool stories from his time as a CPA and attorney. First exam is the hardest. He tells you exactly what you will be tested on and lets your drop your lowest exam grade.

Overall a good teacher. He teaches primarily through examples which makes the concepts easier to grasp. There are only 3 exams and that is all your grade is based on. Professor Sanford is hands down the BEST professor at GVSU. He is such a neat guy and every student loves his class. I actually look forward to going to his class, and it has inspired me to go to law school. Best professor ever.

The best prof i have had at GVSU. He packages his notes through UBS so you don't need an expensive textbook and everything you need to pass the class is included. Attend class on his mandatory days and you get extra credit! Best Professor at GVSU by far!

Take this class ! The "book" is just notes he uses for the class. He marks everything with what will be on the test and is pretty clear about the topics. He gives a bonus that is explained the first week of class ! Attendance isnt required but def worth it as it will make the tests WAY easier !

This guy is awesome. He is so funny and I'm disappointed that I won't have a class with him again. The class is fairly difficult but I wouldn't shy away from it because of that. He gives real life examples and makes it very interesting.

I was one of two students to receive A's for this class in the winter semester. Sanford makes you work for your grade. His lectures are awesome- his jokes are super funny. I looked forward to them everyday. Take detailed notes in the yellow/blue books next to the bullet points for further clarification. PAY ATTENTION IN THIS CLASS. Take this class!

Funny guy and makes class interesting. Had a hard time with the exams because you have to take notes on what he says in class and case outcomes. His exams are more about what he says not really material. But if you pay attention in class and study the study guides he gives you it''s an easy class. No book only purchase lecture notes.

3 exams make up your whole grade, so if you're not a good test taker would not suggest. If yo skip class you probably will not pass. Writes his own "books". Tells you everything that will be on exams yet skill tricky. Offers extra credit if you do better on exam 2 than you did on exam 1, get a C- or higher on 3 and get 12 ethics questions right.

Good teacher over all. Has good class examples and keeps you engaged throughout his lectures. Tests are relatively hard and if you study and go to class you shouldn't have a problem. Last test came out of no where..... its was extremely hard.

He only has 3 tests for the class, if you do his little assignments then he lets you drop one of them. Grades on a curve making it really easy to pass with a high grade. Class is imperative, he is a jokester and keeps class moving along well. If you listen to his lectures then the tests should be no problem for you. Get the yellow and blue book!

He gives 3 exams and that is your grade. He has curves for every test which gives you no reason to fail. His lectures are amazing! I would recommend him even if you are not the best at tests like myself. You do not have to buy a book, he gives you his lecture notes which are extremely helpful and cheap.

Three exams determine your grade. No homework. If you attend every class, take notes, and study for the exams, you will earn an A in this class. Knowing concepts half-way is NOT enough. You must take the time to FULLY understand the concepts discussed in class to answer exam questions. Reading comprehension and critical thinking is a must.

Sanford is a great professor. He knows how to relate the material to real-life examples, which makes it easier to understand. He clearly states what you need to know for the exams, so as long as you attend class and study the material, you should do fine.

Maybe the funniest professor at Grand Valley, professor Sanford makes going to class enjoyable. The stories he tells make it same as if you're not even in class. There are only 3 tests, and your lowest is dropped so as long as you go to class and read over the notes before the test you will get an 'A'.

One of the best professors out there. His lectures are completely based on real life stories which is really entertaining. If you go to class he will give you all the information needed to pass his tests. On a negative side your grade is based on 3 tests only so if you aren't good with tests or reading story problems take someone else.

Sanford is an amazing professor. He has so much wisdom and has taught me so much about life. He is clear-cut. He tells you exactly what is on the exam, but is all application so you need to STUDY. Greatest prof in the world. Requires a bunch of studying but you literally have three exams as your only grades, and he drops the lowest as long as you meet a few requirements. I personally had a tutor just to make sure I'd pass with a high grade. He dropped our lowest grade if we got a C- or higher on the third exam. He lectures the whole hour and is a funny guy.

He is a very nice and funny guy. The book you buy for class is all you need and it is the notes he goes off of for lectures. Tests are kind of hard but the harder you study the better you'll do. Only 5 mandatory classes but it's beneficial to go every day if you can.

Your grade is dependent on 3 tests. Show up, take very detailed notes, and memorize the different concepts (+ their examples) from the study guide, and you will be PERFECTLY fine! His tests aren't incredibly easy. Just be able to act and read like an adult- he doesn't like stupidity but he is more than okay if you answer a question wrong in class.

Prof Sanford taught the second half of my BUS 201 online course. No textbook needed for his half! He makes outlines that you can easily follow along to with his lectures, quizzes, and tests. You may not like him at first but you warm up to him. Watch all his lectures at 2x the speed!

This professor is very nice and cool. He will help you if you need help and explains this pretty well. The only thing I would recommend is if you take him online to put the lectures to 2x the speed because he talks very slow.

Prof Sanford is one of my favorite professors I have had this semester. His lectures are a bit boring because they are him simply talking about the topics but I learned a lot through this technique and he gave lots of good examples that made the concepts a lot easier to understand. Sanford is a great guy! Course is super easy overall. You will have 1 quiz a week, so I highly recommend creating a group chat and taking the quizzes with your classmates. You will have a textbook but if I'm being honest, I never once opened that book, waste of time and money.

This was a hybrid course, and Professor Sanford made it super simple. He did weekly quizzes and posted his lectures, and they were super simple. The lectures were hard to watch sometimes, as they were long and slow. Overall, he seems like a cool guy and his class was super simple and straight to the point.

As long as you watch his lectures, you will do well in the class. His lectures are much more interesting than Jones-Rikkers, as he does a good job of making the information relatable and fun. He is always available outside of class if you have any questions.

All I can say is this professor is a great help in learning about what to expect and look out for in your future of business. He really digs deep into cases and blows your mind. If you arent going to attend his class you will fail.

He gave us around 45 pages of notes, and I rewrote them including only the important things, and it only took about 10 pages. I felt like a lot of the information was unnecessary.

A great professor. I thought his lectures were interesting and related to the real world. Easy content to follow, quizzes and exams are based off lectures and his lecture notes, which are pretty straight forward. Text book not required for his portion of the class. I enjoyed his teaching style.

Professor Sanford was a chill professor who said what he was going to do and stuck to it. His teaching this class made it easy to learn the material with his explanations during lecture vids. I had Sanford for the second half of my BUS201 online portion and he was a fine professor and all I just didn't like the class, its online so that was nice but it was just long video lectures and online textbook. But its not too bad and the professor is consistent and helpful if needed.
