Amazingly wonderful. He's very helpful and extremly fair. Just do the assigned readings and problems and the class is great.

Stevens is very helpfull in office hours, in class and as a person. Great professor who writes fair exams, (even though you might catch a kick in the nuts on his multiple choice once in a while). Great guy all around though!

A great man in real life, a horrible professor when it comes to accounting. What he doesn't realize is when you find the class average below 50%, something is wrong on the PROFESSORS side. Our accounting exam this year was out of 24, class average was 9....9!!! I emailed help about a particular concept and he accused me of skipping class!

ok prof. does an alright job of teaching boring material. exams are actually pretty fair..if you understand the material. prepare and understand the concepts. you can't learn this stuff last minute...i found out the hard way.

This is the easiest professor you can ever have for accounting. But I would suggest attend his class regularly since he only prepares for u for exam and all. Useful classes & he really tries to make his class interesting. Easy way to get a 80 or up mark :).

Great professor. Really helpful if you don't understand the material. Uses lots of examples in class. Multiple choice questions on the exams are tough, but will give you pointers on what to look for on the exams. Best accounting prof I've ever had!

Gotta give him credit for trying to make accounting interesting, but this class honestly is soooo boring :( On exams, he actually makes u feel stupid cuz u dont know wats going on.

He tries to make the class fun, and will bring relevant material in the exam. Just don't dose off, you can tell he really likes what he does.Pay attention , read the textbook, and you will be fine!!

Jim is incredibly kind and helpful. He loves what he does and it shows with the high quality of his teaching. I admit, the class can get boring, but it is audit after all. Jim also assisted me outside of class with a dilemma I had with the ICAO. I'll never forget how hard he worked to help me despite being incredibly busy. Highly recommended!

I HATE ACCOUNTING! But Jim Stevens made it SOOOO EASY AND UNDERSTANDABLE! no wonder he gets "prof of the year for accounting department." Took the online Managerial Accounting (70-255) section with Jim Stevens. Really great professor. Very understandable prof for those not strong in accounting. Made an incredibly boring mandatory course very easy to follow. Recommended for sure

Jim has to be my favourite prof! I've taken him for AIS and into to intermediate accounting. I received A's in both classes. I do have to say that he can be boring at times it takes a lot of attention not to daze off. If you listen to him and review slides prior to the exams you'll do fine. He will throw in a joke to see if you're listening. 1010

Good Professor who understands that students have other classes. Always looking to benefit his class and always there to help you if you come to him. Really Good guy and made me choose accounting as something I want to pursue. Build your time table around his classes.

Prof. Stevens is a very good professor and overall a really great guy. AIS is honestly just a boring course and he tries his best to make it interesting with mixed results. He tells you exactly what to study and his notes for the class are top notch. If you want to actually learn something and not just get an easy A take him, otherwise avoid him.

Prof. Stevens is THE best choice for Audit, if you are lucky enough to find him teaching it that semester. He has REAL experience and very deep knowledge of the process and the industry, and you can tell he is very passionate about it all. Straight-forward marking scheme: midterm, final, 15% assignment. Go to class + follow his hints get an A!

Knows how to code which is always a well respected skill. Developed a system himself and is very qualified. Lots of good examples, he is monotoned but overall a great, approachable guy

Jim is such a passionate and caring professor. Yes, accounting is already boring, but Jim really tries to make it interesting for everyone who attends. He is always available for extra help. I strongly recommend him over any other accounting prof.

Stevens is an awesome prof. Although his lectures are as dry as toast he is super easy. He gives you exactly what you need to know before exams, no tricks. He is a slow marker but who cares you'll get an A anyways.

Jim Stevens is a professor that I can respect. Honestly the lectures were a bit dry sometimes, but he already knew that. Didn't do too well on midterm because there wasn't much guidance, but I also should have studied more. For the final, Jim provided examples of past exams and all the stuff we've covered that is most important. Great professor!

This subject is boring so I'm not gonna say it was interesting lol. He's a little older so he's a tad bit out of touch with expectations; midterm averages were so low that it frustrated him. For the final he gave common final questions and review slides (idk why people say he didn't). Studied only 1 day B4 the final and did extraordinarily well.

His exams were exactly as he told us it was going to be. For the midterm and final he gave good reviews of the prior chapters. His assignments were not too difficult, but if you were struggling you could visit his office hours and ask Qs. Take him if you can. Marked the group project fairly.

Stevens recognizes how tough the course so he kept the midterm exam very easy for us - 1 section with 10 multiple choice and 2 other sections representing chapters 3 and 4. He basically guaranteed us an easy 90 on an exam worth 35% of the mark. Thanks to him, most of the class may have a shot at reaching the 70% threshold. A lot of respect for him.

Stevens provided detailed summaries of each chapter and very specific HW Q's which helped tremendously on exams. Always accessible outside class. He told jokes and personal stories in class to lighten the mood. Finally, he encouraged me to go for my CPA, saying he'd be a reference for me. Best prof I've had and it's not class. Old, but he cares
