Simple class, a few papers but she lets you revise them if you got below a B. She isn't a hard critic on your essay either, but she is not afraid to tell you what she thinks! Overall, highly reccommended!

Great Teacher, I don't understand Lit that well so the material was boring to me, but Professor Barrett is hilarious. The easiest class you can take in college, a few essays and the final is a movie and a party, lol.

LOVED this teacher. She is great. Hilarious, and the class was sooo easy. Basically the class consists of a bunch of class discussions, and few essays that you can redue if you dont get that good of a grade and some movies. You defintly wont regret taking this class.

I'm almost finished with this class, and so far, it's the easiest hard class to take. There are only 3 essays so far, but the last one is a 10 page essay, which you have to do an oral report on. Just take the class if you're willing to do that much for one essay

she cussed a little bit, but it was always in good humor. she assigns reading, but u can get by w/o doing it. u write about 5-6 papers about anything u want, and if u dont like the grade, u can do it again. u do alot of in-class discussion, but its almost always on-topic. she was the first college professor i ever had, and i absolutely loved her.

She is absolutely amazing! She is incredibly thorough, enjoyable, and she loves students who express their opinions. I wish she taught more classes that I needed, because I would take her again and again. Do not miss out on her classes.

Very enjoyable class. You do several papers, but they aren't hard and she is pretty broad in what subject you choose. Has a great attitude and really encourages discussion in the class. I love that she accepts everyone's opinions on a work of literature, and encourages her students to THINK. You will enjoy the class.

Professor Barrett is amazing, we had two papers and a research paper. Her final exam is awesome but you will only find out if you take her course. Highly recommend if you love literature. She is a women who knows literature.

Absolutely amazing. Yes, she does have strict standards but if you follow them, not only will you get a good grade, but you'll also greatly enjoy the class. She makes the environment lively, easily one of the most enjoyable classes I've ever taken.

Very fun and easy class. You basically just have to read the required readings (poems, short stories etc.) and be able to discuss it in class. She lets you revise papers as many times as you would like. No final exam and you watch very good films. Would definitely recommend her class. She is a bit of a feminist though.

Prior to Professor Barrett's Literature 2000 class, I did not like to read fiction. She introduced me to the great fiction author's Eudora Welty and Flannery O'Conner. I now have an appreciation for fiction. She made every class discussion very interesting! I strongly recommend taking Professor Barrett's Lit. class. She is truly outstanding!

Great professor. When it comes to writing papers or essay, she tells you exactly what she wants. There are always Peer-review to give you chance to check over your paper. Just a great all around teacher.

I've had Professor Barrett twice. The second time was because I liked her so much for Lit2000. She's very big on discussion over paperwork, the actual classes are very free-flowing and fun, and the reports are usually on things YOU want (favorite author, favorite short story). She's the best professour I've had in two years of college.

I LOVE Dr. Barrett. She's the funniest professor I've ever had. She's extremely laid-back, but do NOT think you can get away with just anything. If your cell phone goes off in class or you're caught texting, prepare for her wrath. It's one of the reasons I love her. As soon as she teaches LIT 2000 at a convenient time, I'll be taking it.

Dr. Barrett is a great professor. She actually makes coming to class fun. It was one of the few classes that I didn't hate going to. She is very help, understanding and very passionate about her subject.

This is a great professor to take for English. There are no tests and only a few vocab quizzes. There are only three papers that you have to write during this class that are around 3 to 5 pages. Although she is very tough on grading, she will give you multiple chances to correct your paper to get a higher grade. :)

Dr. Barrett is an AWESOME professor. There are 3 essays and very little homework. She is a hard grader, but if you ask for clarity she will give it. Once you turn in a paper, if you receive a grade that you don't like you have the opportunity to make changes and up your grade. She defiantly likes class discussion! I loved her class!

Dr. Barrett was an amazing prof. considering I switched into lit about 2-3 classes in. She really helped me catch up and I learned a lot of different perspectives about things within literature. She was really helpful by not holding back her critique on your written assignments, but still gave you decent grades. rent/buy the odyssey by homer, it's needed. We had two-three papers the last was a 5-7 page about an author with a PowerPoint/other presentation. I wish I could take her again! Love her!

Dr. Barrett was the BEST literature teacher I've EVER had. She will be real with you from day 1, and she really wants to see her students succeed. She really wants to hear your take on stories and never downs your ideas. I love her. She is just amazing.

Professor Barrett is amazing! I have taken her ENC1101 class and will be taking her again for her LIT2000 course. She keeps it real and as long as you do the work which consists of 4 papers, 1 in class essay and a final you'll be fine. She likes to give vocabulary quizzes once a week but they are incredibly easy! Definitely recommended professor!!

Professor Barrett is the best! I took her for both ENC1101 & ENC1102, and I loved her. Three essays, one in-class essay, and a few vocab quizzes. If you don't like your essay grade, you can revise and resubmit it. BTW, she's hilarious!

This professor I absolutely LOVED! I took her for ENC1101 and am taking her again now for LIT2000. I registered for LIT instead of ENC1102 precisely because I wanted her to be my professor. She is funny, EASY, and always let's out of class super early. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND PROFESSOR BARRET!!! Her stories and southern charisma is mood lifting.

I extremely advise you to take her. There is about 34 papers which I highly consider AT LEAST turning something in. She doesn't grade hard as long as you can follow what you learned in class, and also she tells you to go home and read the stories but they are only for class discussions. There is vocabulary which is the hardest thing. She is a YES!

Liked this teacher and plan to take her again. She's a bit of a realist and pokes fun at things sometimes but funny. We often had essays or short stories due, but they were never hard; if you followed the instructions and have a brain in your head, you'll pass with an A. She'll tell you when things are due, but pay attention for this cuz not on BB.

Jimmie Barret was awesome! I took her for my first ever college class and I loved it. She did not assign a ton of work and the work she did assign was easy. She is not a really hard grader and gives a lot of really great feedback. Would definitely take her again.

Professor Barrett was a tough grader, but she does allow for you rewrite all your papers, so there's no way you can fail. Class was very boring. Take this class if your only intention is to pass. I didn't get much from it. I was looking forward to insightful discussions but the class turn out to be very bland. Nonetheless, it was an easy class.

Barrett is a really great professor. She's an easy grader and is there to help you. The first two weeks are all about The Odyssey (you have to read it) and then there are some vocabulary tests. One research paper, a few essays, and a few short answers. Overall informative and she's hilarious. She also let's students out early most of the time. c;

Really cool teacher. A few vocab quizzes that were easy 100's as well as a few in class writing assignments on top of the three essays she assigned. She allows revisions. I got 80's the first time, but when I revised them and turned them back in, I got 95's. We did a lot of group work which was fun. Watched Beavis and Butthead for the final.

The first day of class, she introduced herself as the "benevolent queen". She's hilarious and really makes lectures enjoyable. Her grading is really easy if you just follow what she wants in the paper and the format she asks you to use. There's no real assignments other than reading stories from the book and super easy papers.

This class was absolutely amazing. This was my first semester in college and I could not of had a better composition teacher than professor Barrett. She's hilarious, kind, and takes her job to the next level. Everyone can tell she enjoys teaching. She does not give much homework and she grades very fair. A professor I would love to take again!

Dr. B was an incredible teacher. Her personality is upbeat and funny which makes going to class much easier. This was my first semester back in school after 12 years and she truly made me feel as though I could make it. She give great feedback on papers and is very understanding that students have a life outside of her class. She's Amazing!

Honestly, she is the best Professor that I've had at FSCJ. She's good at encouraging students to express their beliefs about a work, as long as you use evidence in the text to back up your answer you can't really be wrong. She has a great balance of work and humor as well, if she had more classes I would take them in a heartbeat.

Loved her for ENC1101. You have a vocab quiz once every week or 2 weeks. 10 vocabs words, they're easy! And 1 essay a month. No Final!! (your last essay counts as final) she was awesome!

Her class was really easy. Only 4 essays. First 2 you could revise them after they were due up to a 90. Then vocab quizzes were easy as well. Responds to emails timely and wants students to do well. I am taking her for English 2. Lastly, on papers she only looks for comma errors. Honestly, during her class she explains what she is looking for.

I loved her! She was a great professor who although was an easy class, I learned! You do not have much homework, other than reading and spelling quizzes and a couple essays but she is a great professor! Would definitely take a again!

Mrs. Barrett is definitely a cool, and funny lady. You'll have interesting discussions in her class. My only gripe is she is a VERY tough grader grammatically, and does not really tell you how to get better. There are weekly vocabulary quizzes that are pretty easy. The final was showing up to class and having a food party which was pretty cool!

With this course you will have one vocab quiz every week, but they are very easy words. You will write 5 essays in this course, she is a tough grader when it comes to these. You have to come to class or you will definitely miss something. My course was a Monday/Wednesday, she gave us vocab words on Wednesday and vocab quiz was the following Monday

One of the best teachers I have ever had. Very open and willing to answer any questions you ask. Let's class our super early so it is very non-time-consuming.

Quite a bit of reading homework, and very few vocabulary quizzes. Group participation matters! She will have a review of what you read to give more insight of the text. The only book we had to purchase was the Odyssey, and the rest were poems and short stories we had to print out, and we finished with an oral report and a party for the final.

I love jimmie, I thought She would be a male professor by her name but no. She's amazing. Clear, easy teacher. She makes her class enjoyable where you want to learn and be entertained. Straight-forward with grading and what she wants and gives you enough time to complete an assignment.

Easiest English class I have ever taken. Took Prof Barrett for Enc1101 and Enc1102 and enjoyed both semesters with her. She is such and easy going person. Your grade is comprised of vocabulary quizzes, about four essays and overall participation. Each class you split into groups for discussion. Was usually done in about 45 min, one time 15 minutes.

She was an amazing professor for ENC 1101 and I will be taking her class again for ENC 1102. You will get very easy vocabulary words and be able to study them over the weekend for the following class. I do recommend getting the textbook for the class because she will use it and have you read stories and do extra credit for your essays. NO FINAL.

I love Jimmie so much, she's such a sweet older lady, the only thing that I would say detracts is that she may not give you all you need to get through ENC1102. If you're already a great writer you should be fine, but she does offer help if you need it. She also does not post grades, she's pretty old fashioned in that respect.

You read the Odyssey, some poems, and 4 short stories. Because we have went all online there are discussions on each work read and there were 2 essays. Dr Barrett is such a blast I have taken her for ENC 1101, ENC 1102, and Lit 2000 . Easy A if you do the writings and participate.

I loved her class so much, she is such a good teacher and has so much passion for what she does. The work load was not bad, only a few essays and 10 word vocabulary test every week. She is the funniest and realest teacher Ive ever had so I definitely recommend her.

I loved Professor Barrett! I took her lit in humanities class and though the workload was heavy it wasnt unattainable. I very much so enjoyed the discussion boards every week, and the papers we had to write were easy enough. I learned a lot from her class and would have taken her for ENC1101&ENC1102 if I had known she taught those classes as well!

This professor's passion for not only her subjects, but her students also, is what makes her a reliable individual to take a class under. She's tough but hilarious. 100% recommend taking her class. Professor Barret class for ENC1102 included four vocab quizzes, three essays (one in class), and small assignments in between. One of the essays is based on the assigned book for the class, we did have in class group discussions over the book. Very easy-going class, she is understanding and will work with you.

Take her class attendance was mandatory but not necessary yk
