Really clear. Know how to teach step by step. Easy goin.
Easy professor, very clear, very neat. Makes things easy to understand
Great professor, really helpful and funny. Take him if you got MATH 103
I have never in my life experienced a professor like this! He is horrible! He is not knowledgeable in his suject area, he is not clear in his explanations, he is not helpful in any way. Just another one of NJIT's finest!!
Good guy. Extremely down to Earth. A math nerd but atleast he know's it. Not very eloquent but very clear and very devoted to helping his students pass. Easy going and at times even funny. He is a true teacher which is more than I can say for the majority of the so-called brilliant minds that are passed of as 'educators'.
Errrrrrr.........I hated math after I had his class. He was a good teacher but for some reason his explanations were completely hard for me to understand. If you have good math skills, you'll do fine if not then good luck!!
best teacher of njit
By far the best professor! He is clear, friendly, understanding and even jokes with the students! Not much more to say hes just that good!!!! :-D
yeah it may be a low level but hey they dude teaches like hes just speakin to u
very very good teacher
It was a pleasure to be in his class this semester. He is one of the best teachers i have ever had. He teachers with kindness and has a good sense of humor. He is not very strict but dont take advantage of him cause he is a great guy. I couldnt recommend him enough. If you have the chance to take him, TAKE HIM. I promise you will not regret it.
really cool teacher...very down to earth and easy to get along with. helps alot and is very nice.
good teacher keeps you interested
Oh, man this guy is the best. He's really funny and very clear when he teaches. He makes the math seem pretty simple. Take consistent notes, do the homework, and you'll pass no problem.
had him two semester, GREAT professor, always there to help you. Just do your work and be in class always... GREAT GREAT PROFESSOR!!!
one word..."Greatest". i took him for 3 consecutive classes and he has always kept me motivated ever since.... keeps everything very simple and he is always there to have a chat....i was really bad in high school but after taking him, i now love math to the fullest......i would kill if he ask me to ...
one of the greatest math professors i have ever had!
GREAT PROFESSOR!! He is very energetic and you can tell he loves his job. Very helpful and nice.
The best teacher I've ever had. Very helpful and a a great person.
He's absolutely, absolutely amazing. Very helpful, clear & patient. I used to hate Math before, but he's got me scoring a 95 above in every test (& it's not because he's an easy grader). Definitely take him.
He is helpful. His jokes are not funny. He makes sure everybody understands. He's a pretty cool good.
Hayes is extremely helpful, clear, patient, and understanding. He really wants all his students to succeed and makes sure he leaves no one behind. Easy to talk to and clear explainer. I highly recommend.
great professor, usually starts the class off with a little humor but definately the best math professor ive ever had, its a shame he's not teaching 111, take him you wont regret it
great professor, starts the class off by stating hes the best professor in the university. and he teaches throughout the semester proving it. great guy, strong morals and thoughts, and knows his material. he found a short cut that works in almost every situation. he obviously likes the subject and makes you like it too.
The best math professor I ever had. He doesn't only know his stuff, he knows how to teach it so that we the students can understand. Did I mention he was the best math teacher I ever had?
hes soo awesome! take him trust me!
Awsome Period
By far the best math prof I ever had, funny yet an excellent teacher at the same time. If you don't understand a certain question, he's willing to explain it to the last detail. He breaks down the equations to a point where, even if you suck at math you'll begin to understand it in his class.
The greatest teacher ever! He will go out of his way to help you and has very strong morals. Wants every student to succeed. He's also very funny. There hasn't been a class where I haven't laugh. I highly recommend him.
I ended up failing the class, but Hayes is the best teacher I have ever had! Very funny, and explains things very clearly. The math commons are hard, but that's not under his control. Totally recommended.
Hayes is the MAN! Great guy, and a good teacher.
Great Professor! Understands what he's teaching and will answer every question no matter how ridiculous and won't make you feel stupid. His primary concern and preparing his students to pass the commons and so he will throw at you many examples.write down everything he puts on the board and you'll be fine
Great professor. He will make sure you understand all the material, even if he has to explain it 100 different ways. Keeps class interesting while ensuring you are prepared for the tests. Odds are you'll be okay with work 10x more difficult then the exams.
I LOVE Prof. Hayes! He is one of the best, if not the best, math professor at NJIT. Is always willing to help you out. If you can't understand something, he'll break it down until you do. Crystal clear. Take him- you won't regret it!!
Best math professor at NJIT. As we all now math sucks here but he will do anything to make you succeed. I always got 60's on my exams the last common i got a 95! Huge asset to the math dept.
Al long as you do aleks (online math program) and all of the homework, you should be in good shape to pass. For all of you who need to take math 111, make sure you get nothing below a B+ on your exams or you will need to retake this class or take a placement test.
I love him. He is the best teacher i had this semester. He behaves like a dad that really wants to help his kid suceed
FANTASTIC PROFESSOR!! He made the class very easy to understand and fun at times. Great sense of humor. Genuinely cares about his students.
Awsome professor. Really nice guy that is brutally honest. Takes attendance and gives hw to help beef up your grade from low commons and a bad final. the best way to get on his good side is to see him at his office hours.
He is really helpful! took him for calculus and was happy! he is really nice and sometimes very liberal and knows what he is teaching and can help you if you lost! I RECOMMEND, TAKE HIM! )
One of the best Math professors at NJIT. Love him.
Take his class, and you're set for life!!! One of best prof you'll ever meet!!!! I don't who you're, I will find you and I will assign you to him!! TAKE HIM!!!!
Take him! you can't rely on anyone else other than him. He cares for you!! :D :D :D
1 word to describe him- Awesome!!!
Great teacher and really nice guy
He deserves the "There for you", "Amazing Lectures" and "Would Take Again" tags as well. Explains everything with clarity. Allows at least one day to review for the exam - but you need to ask questions, he basically lets you run the session. Hilarious and down-to-earth. If only he taught Calc 2. He's one of the best, you won't regret taking him.
Very understanding, very professional, and very thorough. Doesn't condescend to any question, and if you need help go see him. Effort goes a very long way in this class, and he prepares you for the commons very well. Calc I is rough regardless of instructor, but Dr. Hayes always makes you feel like you have a fighting chance.
Just an awesome guy. The way he teaches and going in detail for the lecture is the best part.
By far the best professor I've ever had at NJIT. Just do the work he tells you to do and you'll get an A. Lectures are amazing, he makes it very clear for everybody to understand. Take him if you can if you want to pass Calc 1.
Great professor. Explains topics in many different ways to make sure you understand it fully.
HE WAS AMAzing. if you are worried about calc take this professor. Trust me i thought i was horrible at calc (well i am) and I got an A!! because of this professor while people who are smarter than me did worse because they had horrible professors WORK YOUR SCHEDULE AROUND HM! YOU WILL THANK ME!!!!
Professor Hayes was a great professor. He really knows how to teach the materials very well. He doesn't read straight from the book like some boring teachers do, instead he actually knows what he's teaching. Expect the occasional quiz also. These quizzes can be rough, but they help you learn how to do the problems on the exams. Highly recommended.
He likes to make you understand core concepts so you will not forget what you learned immediately after the semester is over. Ask questions if you have a problem, email him, office hours help, I never needed to but the lectures are the most important. Practice the past exams. He won't go through 1000s of problems but enough to master all of them.
Hayes is probably the most well known professor at NJIT because of his talented teaching skills. He gives out a lot of homework but its worth doing every single problem. You will pass Calc 1 with a good grade by simply paying attention to his lectures.
He was a really good professor. He is understand and funny. He teaches very very well. He does not give too much homework. It is all very manageable.
He is an awesome calc professor. No one can teach like he does.
For a Business students, (math135 is business clac) we all despise math cause we're terrible at it. Prof Hayes made learning the important aspects of calc so understandable. You will only need to work hard if your core math skills stink, like factoring for example. But take him! He's hilarious and really makes sure you learn.
Its simple. Prof Hayes is the best teacher Ive had. He is truly there for his students, and wants nothing more than to see his students succeed. Hes insanely knowledgeable, funny and caring. He makes math fun. MATH110 can be difficult, but with him, if you do your part, youll have no issues. I cant stress taking him enough, he is truly the best!
Funny and charismatic, great instructor helped me so much.
An absolute gem of a professor. Took his Calc 1 night course, and loved attending every lecture. Great personality and great at relaying information. Makes reviews for exams for students to take advantage of. I would HIGHLY recommend this professor for any Math course (I believe he teaches several), for he is a great instructor and very charismatic
Professor Hayes is by far the best teacher I have had in my entire life. He wants to see his students succeed. Whether it be going over problems that you dont get, or one of his lectures, he is there for you. I never took Calc before, was a little scared for it, and ended up with a B. Take him, do your work and try your best, and you will pass!
Professor hayes has got to be one of the best math teachers there are around. Class is a bit tough but he explains everything and believes in a "No stupid questions" policy. He's a really funny guy, will go the extra mile for you, but you should expect a lot of work; prepare for a ton of hand in assignments and make sure you understand the material
I love math. Math has been my best subject since I was little. He is for sure the worst professor I've ever had in my life. He truly doesn't take the time help you or cares about your grade. Horrible experience
He truly understands math, especially calculus like the back of his hand. However, I struggled from the beginning and I was receiving much help from him. We then fell behind and he rushed to finish the semester. He also tends to ramble a lot and get off topic. Just don't take his night class!
He is an amazing professor. He loves teaching and cares for his students. He is funny and helps students understand the forgotten concepts of pre-calculus.
Ive always hated math, he made me like it.
Very kind. Be ready for a quiz almost every recitation (once a week). The common exams are all based off concepts so once you understand the concept then you understand the problem. All I'm saying is when in doubt draw a QUADRANT DIAGRAM!
yes. just yes.
Best math professor I've ever had and probably will ever have. Taught so well and clearly. The final was the only thing that killed me.
Took him after struggling with calc 1 for the previous 2 semesters. He was fantastic. He taught in a way that made it easy for many of us to understand. Would crack jokes throughout our lectures and made the long night class go by quickly. Extremely helpful and a nice guy, finally passed.
Very cool professor, and great at teaching. He teaches everything that will be on the test. Takes attendance at the beginning of class, but will mark you present if you come in any time throughout class.
He is the only professor who I would take again for any math classes at NJIT. The way he teaches is just amazing. Take him, if you can!
My goodness, Professor Hayes is undoubtedly the best math professor I've ever had. His notes are neat, clear, and concise. He gets straight to the point and has a couple opportunities for extra credit, I would recommend him 1000 times over.
Best teacher I ever had for Math. He will break it down in a way that you will never forget pre calc
