I dont know what happened, This professor had over 40 reviews on here-all of them positive too! He is like a storyteller. I took him for both required History classes and cannot say enough wonderful things about how he teaches. He cares so much about the subject that you cant help but want to know more too. Hands down, the best prof. ive ever had.

I hated history before this class, and knew barely anything about it. After taking this class with Mr. Pigg, I actually learned something, attended class, and was interested! He is an awesome teacher, I took him out of the blue, and will definetly take him for my history 1010. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I really was dreading taking history but he is great! I've learned so much in his class and he is very helpful. I'd recommend him to anyone who dreads taking history but still wants to learn. Must write 1 paper on any topic in taught time frame, required reading with 3 questions, mid-term & final. Gives review sheets for test. Take good notes!!!

I enjoy history, but most of the teachers I have had in the past made learning about it boring. Until I took Mr. Pigg's class this semester. His class is great and he makes everyday of class enjoyable. If you have to take either American History 1 or 2 then I recommend you take him. He is also willing to work with you on class assignments, etc.

I loved this class even though I don't like history. I learned more from him than in any other history class I ever had. He gets so excited just talking about history that it keeps everyone interesting. You take a lot of notes but it is worth it taking this class. He doesn't criticize people if they say the wrong answer. I loved his class!!!

It has been years since I had this prof. I still remember how he created such a great learning environment. He engaged us, and the time just flew by. I was able to succeed. I learned a lot about our shared history, and he always had time to get to know us as individuals. I highly recommend this appealing teacher.

This is the guy to take. You will learn alot. He is entertaining and he won't bog you down with alot of meaningless busy work. His tests consist of the information that he talks about in class, no guess work. You'll know what to study.

GREAT PROF. and GREAT GUY. He is willing to help students at all times. He allows you to call him anytime you need help. I took him a long time ago, but have continued to suggest him to people. Great teacher! He is hilarious. Just look over the study guides and do the essays by looking over your notes and it is an easy A in the class.

I took both History 1 and 2 online classes with this professor, I have learned so much from taking these classes, I would recommend Mr. Pigg for any one who needs to take History. Very Good Teacher. Mr. Pigg is super friendly and easy going. If you catch him in his office he will help you with anything. Take his class it will be a positive experience!

I took his class online and it was a breeze. One discussion board and a quiz each week. 4 tests and an exam. One research paper. Really flexible with everyones schedule. If you miss a due date just give him a legit reason why your assignment was late and he'll be ok with it. I enjoyed this class, even though it was online.

I took professor him online and he is an easy grader. But the work consists of 3 different readings every week. you have to read his lecture which are 10 pages long the chapter which is about 25-30 pages and then another book of his choosing which is 30 pages long. Extremely time consuming. Be prepared to read a lot if you want to make descent grad

I took Prof. Pigg for HIstory 2020 and I took 2010 online...He's awesome for both and extremely helpful..Online you just have to pick two interesting facts from the chapter, his lecture notes and the book he chooses. Its not hard at all. You wont regret taking him. Easy Class overall

I am taking him in Summer 2011 and thus far he's great. Goes a little fast for me but and he isn't using a textbook. Very helpful and easy to understand if u can keep up. Will definetly work with you to complete assignments and exams. Fun if u like History. Cool teacher. I like him he makes me laugh.

Loved him! Wished I would I of been able to take him for all of my history classes!!! his test are easy because he let's you write out ur easy question before you come to class and he encourages you to use as many of the words that might neon the test. So in the long run, ur easy has most of the answers in it. If you are apart of a school activity like the gomb, sport teams ands on, he is understanding and allow you to turn things in over email!

I took his class online, weekly discussion board, weekly quizzes, 1 research paper, 3 major test with 1 essay question on each he gives you a study guide with 2 essay questions which 1 will be on the test. Great professor and very helpful.

he was a great teacher. Very quick with responses. His course requirements did take a lot of time. The tests were fairly hard. I always got B's. But overall I learned alot about history. I did get a 92 in the class! requirements:15 chapter review short essays, 3 reply discusions, 3 page final research paper,12 document Q&A:hard.3 two hour tests.

If you have to take this class take him! He is very easy and explains everything very well and is always willing to help if you need it. You only have 1 research paper. The tests are a little harder but manageable. Take him super easy and the class is laid out well.

VERY easy class to pass. Assignments are easy and teacher is very helpful. Exams can be tough at times, but if you use your book you'll be fine. One paper required and he is very helpful if needed. Teacher replies at a good rate and is very detailed in response.

Professor Pigg is the best! I took his 2010 class online because I do not find history fun in class. The class was challenging because of the discussion boards, but he is very helpful and lenient on due dates if something comes up. The test are a bit difficult, but make sure you look through the book because a lot of it comes straight from it.

Tests are fair - multiple choice, some short answer (usually on battles), and an essay (he gives 2 possible prompts beforehand so you can prepare, then picks one). Does IM-style chats if you need help and posts lectures on D2L. Very manageable.

He was great as responding to questions and discussion posts. His expectations are clear cut. He is a tough grader, make sure you pay attention to his lectures that he posts online - just reading the book won't get you an A.

His tests seemed very simple, but most of the time the answers did not match up to the book or research I had done on the topics.

He is so fun to listen to and really cares about his students and the material. He also almost always lets class out about 15 minutes early. Be ready to take notes though.

I have enjoyed Mr. Pigg's TN History class very much. He can be boring at times, but you can always count on a random unrelated story to capture your attention again. The class is an easy A if you come to class and take notes. I enjoyed him so much I'm taking him again next semester!

This is one of the nicest teachers I have ever taken! His tests are hard but if you study the outlines you will be okay and he does not grade harshly on essays. He also gives a lot of extra credit and trust me that he makes it worth it. I definitely recommend him!

This professors course expectations are clear and to the point. Not overwelmed by homework assignments which allows the student the time to really read and learn. The tests are a bit challenging, but thats not a big issue. I would definitely recommend this professor for your history courses.

He is overall a great professor. I took the online course and struggled with learning the material. He types up lecture, and posted videos for the first five things we covered. There are four discussion boards, four tests, and a research paper throughout the semester.

I had him for my History 2010 class and he was one of the best professors I have had. He actually cared about my well being in a way no other teachers I have had (in terms of high school) have. I still run into him from time to time and I enjoy talking with him.

Prof. Pigg is overall a great professor and really cares. He does lecture the whole class time but is able to hold your attention the entire time. Make sure to take thorough notes. Grades come from three tests, discussion questions, annotated bibliography, and primary document analysis. Exams usually have 25 multiple choice, 5 key terms, and essay.

Professor Pigg was a great guy! He always asked if we needed help and gave us several opportunities of extra credit. There was only one 3-5 page paper, and 3 exams. The exams were a little tough and he let our midterm be take home.

I took his summer class and he would let us out extra early every day. He enjoyed talking about personal life especially movies. He gave many online quizzes that were pretty difficult and I usually couldn't get the answers from my notes and had to use the book, but they were untimed. He was very kind and enthusiastic and understanding.

Professor Pigg takes time to answer any questions you have and does a good job covering the material on the chapter quizzes for the most part. There where a few times where I got confused but was able to work through it and did just fine!

I took his Tennessee History class, Professor Pigg is awesome. He is one of the kindest professors Ive ever had. His quizzes are difficult, even if you use the textbook and lecture material, but you get 3 tries and he gives you lots of time to do them. Highly recommend.

Mr. Pigg is amazing! His lectures are recorded, typed, and he does zoom, so if you miss, you still know the content. Only a couple of tests, all online, no time limit, multiple days to do it. The essay portion is easy, and he will proofread it. USE the textbook! Discussion boards are easy, and the quizzes are 10 ques., unlimited time, 3 attempts.

Professor Pigg is the best teacher I've had at APSU. The class was very interesting and low effort. All the content is textbook based so you'll need to read 1chap/week to answer the quizzes. No in-class work, do the work on your own time and sit for lectures. He's very accessible outside of class, responds to emails in 15 mins or less. 10/10 class.

Awesome professor. You have to read, but it's all straight forward and well organized. Very prompt with grading as well. Video lectures are wonderful, and provides many opportunities every week to reach out for help both through zoom and privately. A++ for this man.

You can tell he adores teaching. Gets off-topic sometimes and has recognizable "catchphrases" you might get a little sick of. Talks a bit softly so don't sit in the back. Paces a lot. Lots of quizzes and tests but they were easy and redoable. There's a lot on each slide so handwriting all your notes in class isn't happening. Cool guy.

Dr. Pigg is just a sweet old man who cares about his students. He has funny dad jokes. There are weekly discussion boards and quizzes that are completely manageable. There are three exams and the final but he prepares you! He does lecture every class but luckily he doesn't mind if you don't show up every now and then.
