Always helpful and explains math very thorough.
Math has never been made so clear to me! Professor Ha was extremely helpful, and I would definately take his class again.
Explains Math very clearly. Answers any questions very thoroughly. Grades tests & quizzes by the next class. Don't buy the book, you only need to buy "My Math Lab" for homework
great teacher, had him for 302 and 303 now. have him again for 1314 the rest of the year
If you have problems with math this is not the professor to take as he does not give step by step directions and does not slow down for questions. He will ask if you have any questions but at the beginning of class but you will have to go to his office for detail as he is on a time limit. Plan on spending lots of time in tutoring!
Great teacher! Homework is all done on my math-lab online. He will e-mail you back the same day if you have any questions/don't understand. He drops a few quiz's and a lot of homework at the end of the semester. Will go over material again if you do not understand. Worth Taking
I really think Mr ha is a wonderful teacher. He makes it well known his door is always open for help. His method of teaching works exceptionally to help you understand the material. I really made math simple.
Great teacher! He is always willing to help during office hours or immediately after class. He gives good notes and gives test reviews that are exactly like the test with different numbers. A lot of work online though, which can be difficult for some. He has good english and is a funny teacher.
very helpful, recommend you take him for 0303 math!
AWESOME guy! Really helpful and funny. He makes class fun and easy to understand!
Great teacher, I loved going to his class. He was nice, funny, and understanding. Too many quizes >.< though.
Mr. Ha has the best sense of humor. His class is organized very well and he gives you plenty of time to prepare for quizzes and tests. I'm not a math person to say the least, but he made the class fun and day to understand. I ultimately got a B, but that was my fault.
Mr. Ha is very helpful. I despise math, but the way he explained things made this a class I looked forward to. If you have to take a math class, take one with Mr. Ha.
This is the best math teacher i ever taken i sucked at math. But after taking his class I understand everything. He is funny and nice and if you dont understand he works with you to help you out. as long as you show up to class and pay attention there is no way you can fail. BEST MATH TEACHER ever
Great teacher! He's super friendly, and always happy to help. By far the best math class I've ever had. I may not have gotten an A, but that's just because I just suck at math, Mr. Ha is awesome.
He was the best math teacher I have ever had. He explained things to me, was willing to help. When I had a MYMATHLAB problem he helped me solve it and kept checking in on the problem.
Great professor, one of the few who actually responded to my emails in a timely manner & graded exams in less than a week. Definitely recommend!
One of the few math teachers I've known who also has a personality! He explains things very thoroughly and clearly, answers emails within hours, and is just super nice. Highly recommended!
He's a very nice man if you have questions in class he'll answer them or you can even email him about it and he'll respond back quickly. But he teaches EXTREMELY fast! If you miss one beat while he is teaching you'll lose him for the whole class period. Need to do reviews for quizzes and test to be able to pass class. This isn't a easy class !
His exams are like the reviews, your homework is online and there's quite a bit! He jokes a lot and can get off task. But he does stay on track with the syllabus and if you put an effort and he sees he will help you for sure. Easy A IF you are going to put the effort in.
Mr Ha is a funny man. Has a personality. He often gets off task for a little while, though we always got back on. Nice man, and willing to help. There are quizzes every other week or so, and a lot of homework. He is very fair. On the other hand, he teaches VERY fast. Not an easy class. He's good, but not for those who struggle with math
I took a 1314 accelerated internet course. Big Mistake!! My issue was he expected me to complete a 15-20 question test in 30 mins. When I requested more time he said I was already getting more than enough. Math obviously comes easy to him. If you are not great at math do not take his class.
I slacked during this class so i got a D but to be honest this was a really simple class. His lectures are clear, he gives examples and will give more in order for you to understand. He lets you know all the time that he's available to you if you ever need help. he's funny as well which makes the class a little less boring. Lot's of homework too!
GREAT PROFESSOR. IF YOU GET LOST OR BEHIND LET HIM KNOW. IF YOU NEED MORE HELP, ASK AFTER CLASS. IF YOUR ANSWERS ARE WRONG FROM IN CLASS QUIZZES AND EXAMS, HE WILL GIVE YOU CREDIT IF YOU TRIED YOUR BEST. ALSO SHOW YOUR WORK ON QUIZZES AND EXAMS! I HAVE AND I WOULD TAKE HIM AGAIN.
In my opinion i feel like the lectures were a bit to fast for me, it was hard to keep up with the topics due to the transition through topics.
I took Mr. Ha for my remedial math class and he was amazing. He is very clear with lectures and assignments. He does not use canvas all work is done on pearson math lab. Drops 2 lowest quizzes and 5 lowest homeworks at the end of the semester. Some students complain that he can be fast paced, which is true. But, we are in college.
Mr ha is a great teacher he is funny and nice but be ready to figure out math on your own he goes so fast nobody can keep up unless your some kind of math guru
Mr. Ha is very fast, he is not willing to slow down to insure everyone understands. He will tell you to go to tutoring if you can't keep up. He does offer extra credit but only to a limited amount of students so STAY ON TOP OF YOUR EMAIL! He isn't willing to help after class or put in any extra time so don't miss any class.
Ha is a really nice guy, and obviously very intelligent but he has w very confusing way sometimes of explaining the process. Needed to be more clear. Not sure maybe it was me, but half the class dropped by the time I did. I was really trying. Good luck to anyone that needs this class. It's really hard.
Do not refer to the negative posts. He is a terrific professor! In no way are his lectures too fast. He shows STEP BY STEP what to do to for the material you go over. If you ask questions he'll take as much time as necessary to help you. Helps out a lot for office hours. He drops some low grades. His exams are just like your review! EffortA
He is a bad teacher. Not very specific and tricks you in the tests . I had A in 1414 but in his class, it is very hard. He is not helpful, always busy and on the run to reach his other classes. His teaching methods are hard to understand.
Not only does he really help you understand the work, he gets the students involved in the process.
He is such a hard professor. He goes through the steps way too fast and doesn't take the time to stop and help. He doesn't seem to care if you are failing, and doesn't help much. Half the class dropped and I wish I would had.
Way to fast and doesn't make sense, also doesn't care about students more than half my class dropped I wish I would have too don't take this guy.
Doesn't make sense. Goes off topic ALOT. Quizzes are always only two questions. Reviews for the tests are 30-40 questions, then the tests are only 15 questions. His teaching style is definitely the worst I have experienced. More than half the class dropped.
Considerate of Students. Got tests back no more than a week after we took them. Teaching method is clear. Makes mathematical jargon easy to comprehend. Answers any questions you give him. He will go through entire problems just to make sure you understand. Respectful of his students. Readily available outside of class. Posts grades in MML.
He's very nice but seems to get very frustrated when students are not making the grades he desires. Gives inspirational talks to help us succeed but didn't make class slower or more thought out in order to understand material. There was only a couple of people left last 2 weeks, had to drop.
Use MyMathLab a lot and that is where all the homework is done. New subject taught every class and a quiz at least once a week. Study, study, study, especially the unit circle, it comes back in everything you learn.
Jin is a great professor. He seems genuinely interested if the students are understanding the material and very supportive. He gives extra credit and his cycle for the class works well. Do the homework, pass the quizze and three of the test are done on campus including the final exam. If you do the work and focus, easy A
He's a nice person, but very confusing at exposing the materials, and won't doesn't work with you if you need help. If you're just trying to pass this course don't take him.
I like Mr. Ha. He is a great person and a solid teacher. But his course is not for the weak. It is a hard hitting and fast paced trip through mathematics. If you are not ready or did not do well in high school this is not the course for you. He will help you. He is always available through email and he responds. Tests are 60% of your final grade.
Professor Ha is an excellent Math teacher. He's very understanding that your kids and family come first; however, you have to put the work in. He will work with you to help you in any way he can and gets back to emails the same day. I highly recommend him, but no matter what math you take, you have to put the work in. Pick him! He's great!
BEST PROFESSOR EVER. He is clear on the material, goes through all of the steps for formulas. Daily online homework. If you don't get it, just ask, because if you don't then you may not do as well. If you just ask for help, he explains it so much more clearly with some comical tones and funny examples. Makes math fun to learn. Easy Quizzes/Tests.
Professor Ha is quite a tough grader. I wished I would have listened to some of the reviews here before taking his class. I got a lot of quizzes back and most of them were not passing, he does not tell me what I did wrong, all he does is circles it and writes Meeting? He also tends to go off topic about his lifestyle.
Defiantly a tough grader who wasn't willing to help you with questions. Plus not willing to correct your mistakes so I wouldn't recommend taking him. Also, very strict about punctuality and people helping each other.
He is a really good math teacher, if you study the review you will definitely pass the test, it not an easy class, but if you put in the effort you will get an A
I have always done well in math and caught on quickly but I could not understand his teaching methods.
mainly does lectures but is super effective at giving feedback and providing help, the grade is mainly focused on quizzes and tests
Hes one of the best Pre cal Teachers I have had. I am pretty good at math, so the class was easy for me. His whole class is based on lectures and taking notes, but he gets the job done and will make sure you understand. Youll have homework after every lecture, but its not too hard. Make sure you attend every class meeting
Mr. Ha is a great professor! He makes the class easy to follow along, entertaining and gives good life lessons. When it comes to the material he follows his syllabus, he's well structured & clear about what is expected. gives pretty good reviews for the exams. As well as pop quizzes but tells you ahead of time. Homework is also given online.
He grades your tests with intent to give you as much credit as he can, instead of getting the whole question wrong for getting the wrong answer, he gives you credit for the steps you did correctly, which helps out a lot
Expects students to remember all formulas on first day of school. Dont bother to ask him a question he went over last lecture, he wont answer it. Not good at math but just need a patient professor? Dont bother to try his class because hes the opposite. Goes over what seems to be like 7 chapters a day. Hes what makes students feel stupid.
Professor Ha is a respectable professor. He seems to care about the success of his students & that they truly understand the material given. If you don't have common sense & treat his class as the college level class it is, then your grade will reflect how much effort you put into it. Math isn't opinion based, but he will give credit where it's due.
Professor Jin Ha was a great professor. He was organized and fast-paced. Very interactive with his students and gave out extra credit which is very easy. Im terrible at math, so when I would get a problem wrong he would still give me partial credit which really helped. Pay attention in class he likes to call on students to answer examples.
Great class but very hard. Some units are very difficult and you'll for sure have to study to understand it. 5 extra credit points are available for each test. Test: 48/100 Quiz: 16/100 HW: 16/100 Final: 20/100. 3 tests & a final, drops lowest quiz and 3 lowest HW's. He wants you to succeed, but you WILL have to put in the work.
Does not give study guides or reviews for test
Mr. Ha is clear when he explains concepts and willing to take questions and provide extra instruction, if needed. Grading on tests is rigorous, answers must be precise, but partial credit is given if you got to the wrong answer the right way.
Definitely not the professor you want in the middle of a pandemic. If I didnt know any better Id tbink he was purposely making things difficult knowing were already struggling with remote/online classes. Doesnt give you benefit of the doubt or anything. Im sure hes a decent teacher in person but with remote classes he just does too much.
I took this class during the transition from online to back on campus after covid. He offers a lot of extra credit! Take advantage of it all! Its super easy and will pay off in the long run. Take notes and refer to videos in my mathlab and the homework will be easy to do. Take this professor if math is difficult for you. He is very helpful
Worst teacher Ive ever had. Just plain uncaring especially during a pandemic
Just take notes, study for the quizzes and tests. Ask as many questions as you want, he takes tons of questions. Don't miss class, because he doesnt care that you missed and werent here for the lectures, youre still taking the quiz you missed. Decent amount of HW (2-3/ week) but its easy and youll learn from it. EASY grader. Best teacher 1st year.
Not a hard grader!! He tries to give you credit on questions even if you get them wrong. Take notes and do your reviews, and you will pass easily. There is a good amount of homework, but it's very easy. Definitely my favorite teacher this year!
If youre not strong at math, or youre mediocre at best, DO NOT TAKE HIM. He expects you to be an expert with the topics he gives & his feedback isnt always so clear. Also his tests are HARD, but if youre good at math, youll be fine.
If I could pick more of the descriptions I would. This teacher is the best for the first time ever it wasn't the teacher lacking skills it was me lacking knowledge lol.
Doesn't bother to help or slow down for students while teaching. Expects you to immediately understand everything that is taught.
this professor refuses to give grades on what you actually received, rather he chooses to go based on the work you show, and even if you receive a well enough grade, if the work is not there he will fail you, and does not give fair grades for actual tests
Terrible teacher. Only a handful of people will pass his class. He purposely makes nearly all the questions harder than need be. Doesn't teach the subject very well then goes to the farthest extreme with the homework, tests, and quizzes. Blames everyone for not studing enough. He doesn't take responsibility for his own faults.
When I first started the class I really thought I was going to do well. After week two everyone in the class began failing and most of them dropped. His grading is okay, tests are super hard and hes not very good about understanding some of us not getting the material; blames ourselves for not studying when he just doesn't teach criteria well...
He is a tough teacher. If you reach out to him and let him know you are struggling, he will help when it comes to grading. He does expect you to pick up and learn everything fast. Take this class ALONE. Do not sign up for more classes if you are taking his math classes!! You will spent every second on this class to try to pass. Be warned its hard.
If you are not great at math, this class is going to be challenging for you
He isn't a bad teacher himself, he actually gives you every chance possible to pass his class, but it is a lot of homework and very test heavy. You will need to take more time out for this class than you think, but he's a fast responder outside of class at least. Wouldn't recommend this class if you aren't great at math already or are test anxious
If you love Math, want to be the best in Mathematics. Prof. Ha is the best teacher.
Instead of Professor Ha teaching the materials, having examples during the lecture; He refers to a textbook online, videos and a power point that you must read and put time into during your own time for you to understand his lectures. If I was going to teach myself, I wouldve taken a fully distance course.
Professor Ha just reads the power points and notes off the board. He does not show any real-life examples related to statistics or gives any math examples to try in class. If you take his class, expect to teach yourself. He is nice, but I do not recommend him if you struggle in math.
Great class and easy if you are good at math. He tells you from the first day that to pass his class you need to read the units before class so you are prepared. Gives a review before tests that are very similar to the test. Drops 3 lowest homework, 2 lowest quizzes, and replaces test grades with your grade on the final. Overall a great class!
Professor Ha does not ask for much, just that you read the textbook before class, and he makes this expectation clear at the very beginning of the semester. If you have any questions, he provides ample resources and extra credit is also easy to obtain within the exams and outside of them, and you can always tell that he tries his very best.
I thought that Professor Ha was great, however, I have a few critiques. I did not think that the way he taught some of the lessons was the simplest way to do them. Thankfully he does not mind how you do your math. Another issue was sometimes the homework provided was not taught until after it was due.
I've been finding the quizzes challenging, and the class organization and teaching methods have been difficult for me to follow. The homework are useless it's nothing compared to the quizzes nor exam. If you take his class you will have a quiz every Monday and it worth a lot of points. If you're good at math i recommend if you're not i don't.
I really enjoyed his class, as someone who doesn't love math. Everything is scheduled out so you always know what to expect, and he makes sure we go over all the material between homework and classwork. The classwork is more difficult than his quizzes and tests. His lectures are great too, they're clear and funny and he sprinkles in life lessons.
I took his class my first semester and now in my second. His class is tough but for the most part its the material, not his teaching. One of my only critiques is that he does go quick with his lessons but he does say he wants us studying before his lectures. The math lab really is a huge help as well as his extra credit opportunities.
Did not teach anything at all. Everything was learn on your own, he was just a babysitter for the online class.
He did not teach the online class at all, so don't expect him to actually go over things with you. You have to learn from the textbook. I don't understand how you can be a Professor and not even have to teach the class.
He is a very nice guy and caring . But honestly I would not recommend him . His quizes and test does not match the homework. You get hit with random questions on the quizes . The quizes are worth so many point that you are at risk of failing if you do not pass, homework is useless, lots of homework each homework contains at least 30 to 40 question
I had Mr.Ha in the Spring of 2025 and it was the WORST class I had ever taken. He reads only textbook material, does not clarify when you ask him a question, and the tests that you take do not cover any of the material. You really have to be a natural if you even want to do decent in his class. Beware of his random talks about shoe stores as well.
