Her class is pretty rough. She's not at all helpful and is pretty condescending, actually. She ridicules students who ask questions and is a harsh grader when she actually bothers to grade, which will be weeks after you hand in the assignment. And make sure you do your homework or she will put you in "time-out" at the back of the class.
I might as well have taken a gender studies class. She does not thouroughly define her terms for group discussion and her short story paper. I went to learn english but focus of the class was not that at all. Her temperment dictates how class goes. i do not recommend her as a professor.
Literally the worst teacher I have ever had! she Isn't happy in class. She states how everyones opinion matters but the moment you give your opinion she calls you out in-front of the whole class and says you are wrong. There were 30 students in class at the beginning and 10 were left when I dropped the class two months in. She sets you up to fail.
Ridiculously hard for no reason.
Don't ever take this professor as she is not forgiving on her instructions and grading. Would recommend you take any other professor. She thinks she is better than everyone and is actually doing a good job teaching.
I am a student that shows up every day and shes very confusing when she explains things and least give me d for a grade not an f i try my hardest but I got an f and also her attitude is the worst. If anyone gets her as a professor I recommend switch
She is hands down the worst teacher I have ever had. She wants people to participate and ask for their opinions but the second they do, she shuts them down. She will make you feel like youre dumb. She doesnt give extra credit and when you email her asking for help, she wont help. shes a very tough grader.
SHES THE WORST !!!! DONT TAKE HER PLEASE !!!!!!!!
The absolute worst teacher. She doesnt teach nor care. my other professors are so much more caring
Harsh grader and refuses to provide any substantial feedback to students. Avoid class! YOU WERE WARNED!
She's HORRIBLE be ware do not I repeat DO NOT take her class. I wish I would have read her reviews before taking her class she's supper rude gives you no room to improve it feels like teaching to her is forced. Lord forgive you if you ask her a question about the assignments she will literally patronize you.
Bro no cap this is the worst teacher I had ever gotten in my life. Idk who let her teach at this school but its actually ridiculous. She literally doesnt care about her job and hates when you ask questions and just makes you feel so dumb. She thinks she knows it all but she really doesnt and its so annoying. If you have her please switch out.
This is the worst professor ever in history, she doesn't care about nothing or no one. She's setting you up to failed. You cant asked no question without her shutting you down making you feel dumb/stupid very condescending. Please don't ever take this professor class started with 30 and its only 10 of us and I dropped because she's of no help.
The absolute worst teacher I've ever had out of ALL of my years in school, even elementary. She treats English 101 like an advanced/honors Harvard course. She refuses to provide insight to students, her syllabus/policies are extremely complicated and unclear, and when you don't understand things? She is of no help, just rude and condescending.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS AT ALL!!!!!
Prof. Lee is a hard grader and requires a lot of work. As a first-time student in the US, I struggled with a lot of assignments in this subject as I have never done anything like it before, but I managed. If I could do it, you can, too. Prof. Lee is as helpful as possible if she sees you work hard. Many people don't work hard and she punishes that.
She dont care about her students. She is very lazy when it comes to helping her students. Rude attitude. Not compassionate about her job and takes her anger on students.
This professor honestly does not like her job and takes it out on her students. Instead of respectfully AND kindly telling students they are incorrect, she will put them on blast and embarrass them. Her job is to help students when they are not understanding correctly yet all she does is blame them and leave them in the cold without any help.
I'm truly sorry for anyone that has to take her class. She has no problem making you feel dumb about asking questions, she will constantly point out your mistakes and on top of that she hates to get pointed out for her own mistakes. The attitude she always has is outrageously annoying and her mannerism is very poor.
I had her for eng 102 I thought she was hard and mean at first, she just hates laziness and people who don't take college seriously. She will put u on blast in front of whole class if u say something wrong or don't follow the rubric. Other than that she was pretty chill but a pretty harsh grader. Just do the work and show her u care
This professor is absolutely horrendous. Please do not take any of her classes. When you ask a question she will make you feel dumb and when you make a mistake, she will not help you. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!!!
She tells you what you need to get done. Put effort into the class and you will be fine.
I took this class a couple semesters ago and I had to write a review once I found out about this website. Yeah she is that bad. Very harsh grader, was very confusing and don't bother to ask questions cause they either won't help or you'll be slandered in front of the whole class. Please do not take this class.
HOW IS SHE STILL TEACHING !!!!
Oh boy where do I begin :D I hope she reads all these reviews, absolutely hated her. #1 First day of class she literally tells you "im sorry if this is your first semester and youre taking me" #2 You would reach out to her so she can explain to you certain things and she would not help or yell at you in a email for not knowing the information
I kid you not. I once did all the work for a group project she assigned and she gave me a F and the other student a B so I ofc reached out to her and explained to her. She proceeded to tell me I was lying and I asked if we can speak after class and I stayed 2 times to talk to her and she always had a excuse on why she couldnt talk to me
Probably the worst English teacher I have ever had. takes her job way too seriously for a community college teacher. Does not help students and does not bother putting homework in the blackboard app so it's all up to you to know when assignments are due. Complete waste of time
Horrible teacher, laughs at you when you need help. Got an A+ fall semester in 101 with a different professor and got a D with Professor Lee. Showed up late to class so many times. Dont even bother asking for help, just dont take her course.
SAVE YOURSELF! Youtube taught me more than she did, she doesn't give clear instructions on how to do the work she assigns but grades like she does, anxiety attacks before, during & after her class. Once i had a question about grades and she made fun of me screensharing my grades to the whole class pointing out everything wrong. pls, SPARE UR MENTAL
Wow, this was the worst experience ever! She never explained assigned, never gave feedback, and the only answer I ever got to a question was "check the rubric." She even bragged to the class that lots of her students appeal their grades but her Chair backs her up. Do NOT give yourself this trauma!!
RUN!!!RUN While everyone here is telling you to For English already being a major turn off for me this professor made everyone's life hell A woman who hates her job & she absolutely degrades you to the core until nothings left Thinks so highly of herself Treats everyone as if they are incompetent & stupid Very harsh grader Every review here is TRUE
Great Professor thanks
The Professor was not clear on many assignments, Professor Lee is very sarcastic and a know it all. Run! do not take her class.
I ignored the all of these, I thought to myself "I've had hard teachers before, I work hard, I can do it!" first half of the semester I would work hours on her work, all for nothing. I'm going to fail. I tried my best, genuinely, but your best isn't good enough. drop out of this class immediately, don't make the same mistake I did!!!
Vague instructions and will tell you to check the rubric or ask a classmate when asking for help. Asked for the instructions for the midterm essay to be elaborated and was told to check the instructions. She said I failed the midterm because I didn't understand the instructions. Informs me I won't pass the class the day after the withdrawal date.
The people who disliked her simply didn't do their work, read directions, or wanted things to be extremely easy... While she does have a strong personality and doesn't accept late work, she's extremely intelligent, real, and funny. If you do your work, participate, and read directions, you should have little to no problem.
One of the worst teacher's I've ever had. I had Covid during the week the research paper was due and received an extension of 8 hours. Then she proceeded to give me a C with zero feedback as to why. The class started with 24 kids, ended with 4 because everyone left.
She expects everyone to know how to do things without explaining them, and grades with those expectations in mind. If she likes you, you'll get away with a lot, but if she doesn't, good luck. She's not open to communicating and answering questions, but she'll say she is. Save yourself the stress and the tears and pick a different professor.
A tough grader and always responds with questions regarding homework with "check the rubric".
Professor Lee is a kindhearted and brilliant individual who may seem tough on the outside but once you get to know her you realize she just wants what is best for you. Her way of teaching is definitely different because instead of telling you how to do something, she lets you figure it out yourself, which can be challenging but it's all worth it :)
Im going to be real with my review. This professor can be sarcastic/passive aggressive at times, but to me is was funny. To students who really struggle in english and writing, I do not recommend this professor. She posts all of her expectations in her rubric. It was an okay class. I wasn't dreading it but I wasn't looking forward to it either.
The professor was absolutely useless, her feedback in the course was to basically re-read the assignment or the rubrics. This is not what education is about there was nothing learned in her course. I feel as if it was one big final exam as she only graded the course when it was too late. Run away!
It's easy if you do the work.
Dry sense of humor. nice. wrote my recommendation letters for transfer. the assignments and activities made sense to me but they were boring. Not always fun doing Mla but i learned it.
Her emails are short sometimes but she responds fast. Reading and talking was cool but all the writing was not. I like the group work. Take her if you want to the point. Avoid if you need hand holding.
One of the awful professors, you can have in your entire life. The professor does not understand, that how difficult this course would be for the students who are new to english. She has her own mind set and look every one through that eye. Does not communicate properly with students. Not recommended if you are an international student.
Really not bad as long as you show up and do the minimum. Repeats directions a lot. Not too much work till the end when there is the big paper.
Started the class with 28 students, and ended with 6. Do i need to say more.
Rounds up the grades alot so if you fail then you really did nothing. I had a d and she passed me.
Good book picks and discussions and a couple papers but she gave extra credit. Not easy but not very hard.
Wasnt as bad as I thought after reading the reviews here expected the worse. Teacher was normal just nice enough
I thought professor was friendly and funny sometimes. She tried to make it interesting but writing essays is never a good time.
To be fair if you work hard in her class, she does recognize that, and the worse grade you will probably get is a B. However she does not provide any good feedback and only tells you to look at the syllabus and rubrics provided. She is way too hard for a fundamental English course at a community college. We are not English majors at Harvard!!!
Do not expect to learn anything from this professor, the class might as well be administered by AI, as she provides very little personal feedback or guidance. Her idea of guidance is to refer you back to the syllabus. She is an extremely tough grader for ENG101, and she is incredibly pedantic when she does give feedback. Steer clear.
This professor seems to have a complete disregard for others' thoughts and perspectives, valuing only her own opinion. It's concerning that she openly expresses her political views and imposes them on students' work. She makes you change your topic or face a failing grade if it doesn't align with her beliefs.
Her comments on other students' posts are often rude and belittling and it is unacceptable. It's frustrating that when you seek extra assistance, she simply directs you back to the syllabus. The syllabus only contains very little information about the assignments and referring back to it DOES NOT HELPZ!
AVOID TAKING ANY OF HER CLASSES! I wish I had read all the reviews before taking her class. She often denigrates her students without constructive redirection, referring them to her syllabus instead of offering anything remotely helpful.
She doesn't understand that she is "teaching" at a community college. She expects us to put in an unbelievable amount of effort which is funny because she puts in 0 effort. Her syllabus is copied and pasted and she gives irrelevant feedback. Sometimes she even gives no feedback.
In my online class she was very helpful and answered all emails even on weekends. The syllabus and work is all right there ahead of time to do.
I liked her class.
The professor had everything done so there are no surprises. Good debates in the class. The con is the research paper we write for half the year
Not a fun class but the teacher is cool and
Cool books and professor
She is straightforward and helpful but you have to keep up and do the work
She does use syllabus alot but it has the assignments and how it get graded. She helped me alot but I was also trying hard.
Rounds up final grade. Just do the work.
Awesome and wrote my letters of recommendation.
I never felt like she was mean or rude. She has more patience then I would for answering the same questions. If you listen to what she is saying is helpful.
Talking about the books and poems was the best part. I loved the class but I like reading.
I really appreciate that she treats us like intelligent adults
She is very clear about what needs to get done. She always talks to us after class if I have questions. Time goes fast in class because we talk a lot.
I expected to hate her bc of the rating here but she was good. she knows her stuff & expects you to know yours. I am taking her other class this semester so that tells you something!
One of my favorite. She got me into Honors and continues to write letters for me when I need.
Not bad for an english class
Taking her now and she seems helpful and patient. I see why some students wouldn't like her since it is awkward if you don't know what is going on. But if you do have a handle on the work then things make sense to me. I don't like talking in class but I am starting to like talking about the homework.
makes sense that reviews here are mixed, you will love her if you show an ounce of caring and trying but you will struggle if you don't show or don't participate. it's one of those classes where you can't wing it on the fly or try to give bs excuses. but it's college so you should be ready to try.
i took this class before and her reading was better and there is nothing unreasonable read talk and write a couple papers thats it
Professor Lee was ok. Her grading was tough and confusing. She wasn't really good at explaining and she doesn't answer student's questions very well. She had favorites and it was obvious.
she wasn't very hard- she isn't a pushover or an easy a but she isn't unreasonable. she also answers emails fast. make sure you pay attention and take notes. class talks are really interesting and funny
This professor writes me recommendation letters even after I am not in her class. She is caring and easy to talk with. When I was in her class, the books we read were good and she always had a rubric for grades.
She is really not good at all. Do not take her unless you want a headache.
I am currently taking this class in a 7.5 week session. The assignments are drowning because they are posted with practically no instruction and she specifically states in her syllabus to NOT email her with questions and to read the useless rubric. She DOES NOT grade throughout the semester so you will have no idea if you are passing or failing. RUN
She is honestly the worst professor I have ever had in college. The syllabus given to us was nowhere near correct because she changed like 10 things on the first day but refused to update it online so don't rely on it if you need critical info. Her rubrics never had all the parts for the assignment on them so do trust those either. All around awful
I can not express enough how awful this professor is. I have had difficult professors in the past but this professor is far by the worst. The assignments that she posts for homework has no background help, meaning she will post an assignment that you have to do and you will be completely lost trying to understand it. She will criticize you.
She is not a professor that cares about her students.Let this be your sign DO NOT SELECT HER AS YOUR PROFESSOR !!!
Prof. Lee is a caring professor who will want you to try and do your best on every assignment you hand in. She is a heavy grader but if you listen to her instructions and follow through the guidelines then you will won't have any issues maintaining her criteria. She is the first professor to challenge me to want to do better and achieve an A.
Everything is explained multiple times written out in multiple places. Just pay attention. I think she is great is you are someone who does the work. If not, you would be frustrated.
She is a great teacher. You learn a lot if you do the work.
Made me love poetry
I was worried but she is actually really helpful if you ask for help nicely and the things we read are fun to talk about
Fun but no BS
She'll humiliate you in front of the class if you say or ask anything she thinks you should know before telling you to check the syllabus. She doesn't provide good, if any, feedback on your assignments except for copy paste responses. Don't be late or use your phone either as she'll mark you absent for the day. If you hate fun take this class...
Be ready because she will call on you. The stories we read are really good and the talks in class are interesting. She always replies to emails and talks to you after class if you approach so just be respectful.
Good class. Funny teacher.
This class I took last summer was the hardest college class I have had so far despite it being at a community college. It is ENG 101 and Professor Lee treats it like a graduate english class for english majors at Harvard. She did see I worked hard and gave me a B+ but she is still getting a 1 because I didn't deserve a 70 on my paper to begin with.
Good times. Good professor.
This is the WORST professor ever DO NOT take this class. She never gives feedback about your assignments. Assumes you used google if you have the correct answer never gives real credit. Says participation matters but if you try to participate it turns into a humiliation corner. I could go on. I dropped the class and she proceeded to still grade me.
She answered emails quickly and is helpful when you ask.
Interesting class discussions so be ready to talk and she explains everything so take notes
No BS but she was one of the few teachers who helped me and encouraged me and wrote letters for me to transfer.
LOVE HER she is hilarious
If you don't have to take this professor…don't. Not very friendly or personable. She grades extremely unfairly, you either get an A or an F on assignments no in between, not willing to work with students and syllabus is very confusing! You will lose points for minor things, beware.
This class drove me crazy, she assigns so many assignments with no regard for your other classes, her class has to be your top priority. Nothing you ever do is good enough for her, she preaches that there are no right or wrong answers yet you're always wrong to her. She uses humiliation. In the nicest way possible, I'm gonna go crazy bc of her.
This professor does not teach. All of the assignments are graded unfairly. Over half the class dropped the course. I have the same level of knowledge about this subject as I did before I went into the course. This is completely unacceptable and I'm saddened to say that this college needs to hold their professors to a higher expectation.
This is not my favorite subject but in fairness she had us read good poems and stories and she always lets you redo your paper
Only 2 essays. One group project.
Tough but not impossible. Talk to her after class and she gives you tips.
You will love or hate bc you do the work and pass or you don't and fail. Take notes and read the directions and it's fine
This professor was not for me. The instructions for assignments were meager, filled with things that she does not want you to do, but with bad guidance or examples on what to do. And arbitrary rules that result in 0. Her grading comments are vague/confusing. What does "good job, keep it up" mean if I got an 80? Maybe she is better in person, idk.
Always quick to answer emails and very direct which I like but some people might not. Not alot of work compared to other language arts classes but she expects quality. The stories she assigns are good even if you don't like to read.
She helped me transfer to the college I wanted
I would STRONGLY advise against taking this professor's course. Her grading is incredibly inconsistent and unfair, with no middle ground, you score high or fail. It feels as if she applies arbitrary standards to grading. Overall, this course was a frustrating experience. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
I was worried after reading some of these ratings but she was nice and pretty hilarious. She has easy rubrics and she rounds up the grades by alot. She answers all your questions and for me she explains everything in a way to understand
Just finished a class with this teacher and she helped me so much to do better. I think you just have to try and not bullshit her. The papers she gives are shorter than other teachers to.
Clearly is writing fake reviews to boost her own ego, read between the lines here and realize this teacher is just downright horrible, all the teachers protect each other at this school so I'm done with writing, hopefully this can be read by the next person and they will NOT take this class. And if you are reading this while in her class I'm sorry.
I was switched into this womans class, after seeing her work I might drop it. I've taken 7wk classes and while it is more it STILL should be doable when done accordingly but these are insane,is she unaware that we have other classes? One of the assignments is summarizing a 238pg story every 10pg+questions. Not even a full week to do. This is mad.
The way she teaches what you need to learn is fairly confusing, but once you get it, it's doable. Attendance policy hurts your grade after a certain amount of late/absences so be on top of that. Overall, fun to talk to, but as a professor, pretty unforgiving. Just barely scraped by and passed this class- 30 people at the start, like 11 by the end.
She was pretty clear and straightforward with our class. I liked the way she explained how to think more about issues and writing. It's not a whole lot of work if you stay on schedule
She has standards but she is easy to talk to and joke. Class is regular with reading and homework and papers at the end. The thing that takes the most time is the last paper. There is one group project but I liked it if you are shy you might not. I would take her again she is a fair grader
Loved the professor, hated her class. Overall, fun & likable but very hard grader. I'll miss her & would absolutely recommend you take this class if you like tough love & harsh realities. If you want to be pacified & coddled find another professor to do it.
STAY AWAY. professor gives insane amount work. She doesn't care if you have other classes.. no make up or extra credit allowed. she even makes you answer 15 questions in your own words about her syllabus… only take this course if you're EXCELLENT in English like honors roll excellent.. she's unfair and NOT realistic.. I'm stuck with this nightmare
I advise to not take this course with this professor, she will make you do tons on work and not care about your other class assignments. She gives out discussion board questions that make you think like crazy and along with the 3 major research projects!! Like give us a break woman. Worst professor I ever had!! She needs to retire ASAP!!
Avoid her at all cost! This professor overloads students with homework and acts like her class is the only one. She doesn't teach, just assigns random youtube videos. Expect tons of papers with little guidance. If you want a fair workload and real instruction, stay away from this class.
I am in her class now and she only has one research paper and short weekly homework which takes me thirty minutes to do. The paper is at the very end so it doesn't seem too bad.
I thought the teacher spent too much time going over the same things but i guess it was so we get it right. I did learn how to write with research which helps me. Its a college ela class so there is more expected than high school so you should be ready to work if you take her
I actually love this professor. She is honest and funny. and she understands the class isn't always fun since it is writing and not creative. But she mixes up the work so time passes quick and if you pay attention you can get better at english
I have taken most online classes so I am used to doing work online. I am taking Lee online now but because I read the reviews before I thought it was going to be a lot of work, but it isn't any more work than any other class and she has a lower word count than any other classes. So far the class is good. Liking the youtubes, better than reading.
In her class now so far she seems cool and to be honest half of the class doesn't show up and most don't even have book. Probably the ones that write bad ratings.
Im taking this class for the second time and my last teacher had 2 research papers but this one only has one so there is less with her We have homework each week but it is easy not essay type work. I don't like ela but that isn't her fault shes nice and all
Makes you think. One homework a week that is 150 words. And big paper later. Not unreasonable but she sticks to the rubric so you have to put in effort.
The worst professor(!) I've ever seen. She asks you to do too much without teaching or helping you. She cuts half of your grade for the slightest mistake. Almost 80% of the class dropped the course for these reasons. I don't understand those who gave her point 5 in this page!
HORRIBLE TEACHER. Her grading makes no sense, none at all, it's almost as if she publishes a rubric and gives you notes just to then simply not follow them. I seriously regret taking her course, as someone who has always been a 4.0+ student, especially with great grades in english, she is genuinely just a horrific grader.
Fun class with an engaging professor. Stay on top of assignments and use unstuck study for helpful study prep. The readings are interesting, and the professor is approachable if you ask for help.
I personally do not find her class to be difficult or a lot of work. Her grading seems to be fair so far because she explains it and she shows you a rubric and she seems to round up from the rubric anyway.
Took her online class and it is straightforward. She doesn't allow makeup so you just have to do it by the time that it is due but it was only 20 to 30 minutes of work in one week. Only at the end when we have papers you have to put in more so that is a little bit hard
Professor Lee was easy to talk to in class and out of class. She is going to push you to do your best so if you aren't going to try, then she will not be a good for you. She does different things in class so the time passes without you noticing.
This professor is pretty normal not hard or easy she wants you to talk in class
She does not act like a teacher and doesn't teach. I am trying to learn independently; she doesn't like what I do, doesn't show me how to do it, and if I make a small mistake, she takes half the grade. Stay away from her!!
These reviews are confusing. I don't like english class and I got a B in her class and just did the writing. You only fail if you do nothing. She was always showing us and repeating in class. You just need to go.
Read good book but I don't like poems. Not boring. I like there are only 2 essay.
This was not my favorite class but I like the teacher. Ms Lee let us talk about things we wanted to. I suck at papers but she let us build up the pages and spend time to fix it
Honestly if you ask her for doovers then she lets you. Does seem strict about ai. Missing work isn't an option but its one thing every week so it isn not much.
Took Lee last semester and the stories were good to read we had 2 papers and some blog posts to write not craxy work but reading took time you have to go to class and be ready to be called on she like people who talk
You definitely must go to class but the writing and essays are really easy. But do not cheat with google or hand in late homework basically just do things on time. I could see why some people think she is hard but as long as you hand things in it is not bad.
She does not dumb it down. Take her class if you want to learn, avoid her at all cost if you are going to do the minimum. She's easy if you do the work, you will fail if you don't.
Not bad. Good reading and managable
favorite professor this year
Truth she is nice but she expects more than high school If you able to show up and try then take her but if you dont really go to class then you wont do good
Semester just ended with her and she was very fair. Would recommend.
I took her for the 7.5 week course and it wasn't bad but definitely take when it is your top priority or can definitely multitask a lot. She is very clear with what she wants and is willing to help you if you email her.
just a rude person. has clear favorites and if your not one of her favorites she will treat you with extreme disrespect for virtually no reason. makes her political views highly known and if you dare disagree with what she says she will treat you differently purposely. extremely disrespectful and nasty. she always thinks shes right even when wrong
Would never take again. Class after class u got more and more exhausted hearing her speak. Even though I passed with a good grade I feel like she was demeaning the whole time and I had to abide by her opinions and views in society. Political person overall. Don't take if you don't take class seriously. Would laugh at students for being wrong.
Easy A if you show up
She rounds up the grades at the end by a lot of points i thought i was getting a d but got a c in the end not bad if you put in a little work
prof tries to keep it light and we make jokes in class to talk about controversial things which i like
Honest review, the work is not very hard but you do need to talk. She lets us debate interesting things about society and politics but you can't really say anything if you didn't do the homework. So the point is you have to be ready and i thought she was funny and answered my questions and emails
was she easy no. but she was fair. you just need to talk to her and put a little effort
She's helpful and you go to class and put in half effort then you pass easy, I think it will be a hard class if you don't come or do the assignment because you are lost
isnt a coddler but she is fair and you do learn a lot
Her score should be 0. My three choices for a tag; Sadist; doesn't teach; expects the world. She provided no materials, she spoke a few words every class. Our class was her self-proclaimed best, it started with 24 students, ended with 6. I dropped it to save my mental, I am a double stem major BME-BIOCHM, it's the only class I ever gave up on.
Really easy if you show up and do what you need to. There was only one big paper at the end and a small assignment every week. Didn't seem too much.
straight forward
Effectively communicated the goals of the class at the start, but failed to actually evaluate papers or submitted materials according to the guidelines provided. To be completely honest, I'm doubtful that she even read my final paper. Highly recommend avoiding this one if you prioritize grades/gpa, as she is a professor where your grade is random.
Took her for summer online and everything was pretty straightforward and easy to understand. Assignments, rubrics, discussions are all there from the start so you can everything ahead of time. Grading was fair and she rounds up.
She makes you read and write talk and think. Depending on if you like that or not you should take her
The class and professor were fine. Nothing was super easy or really hard but relatively fair.
I love this professor because she treated us like adults and had us talk about interesting subjects.
As long as you listen to what she says, you'll be fine. She gives clear directions on what she expects on assignments. The people that did not do well were the ones that did not listen, especially when she said to take what is said in stories for what it is. Getting the hang of how to write for the class is difficult at first, but then is easy
My favorite class so far this semester
I really like this professor and the class
Challenges students never boring and has sarcastic humor I appreciate
no homework or papers until the end of the semester. informal class vibe
take anyone else but her because she expects perfection like some sort of machine that can output perfect results each and every day. Her feedback and grading are sometimes confusing because they contradict each other, and she will even dismiss you, and send you away to the writing center instead of helping you. Atleast she responds to her email
The worst professor ever. I'm probably going to fail her class because she does not help at all? Never have been more confused in someone's class except her. She's rude and doesn't actually teach. Only 2 essays in a semester mostly focused on literary analysis failed the first paper and barely gave me feedback just sent me to a tutor.
Do not take this class if you want an A, toughest grader and does not explain why your grade is the way it is. Recommends that you go to a tutor instead of explaining the assignments and then gets angry when class doesn't fully understand assignments. Just flat out rude and lacks manners, will call you out in class for missing more than 3 days.
Very frustrating experience. The instructor made the class unnecessarily difficult due to extremely rigid assignment requirements that had to be done exactly as written. Grading was overly picky, and there was little understanding or flexibility for situations beyond students control. I would recommend choosing a different instructor if possible.
AVOID THIS PROFESSOR. She gives no feedback on your writing and expects you to know everything in a 101 course. She is inept in email exchanges and will not answer your questions clearly. Her grading is also VERY nitpicky and, as previously stated, will give you no (and I REALLY mean no) feedback until you already received your grade.
