Besides her excellent ENGLERSH skills, Dr. Wang is efficient as a professor.
Takes a few lectures to get over her accent, otherwise she's a good prof. Quizes aren't too difficult if you do the homework, neither is the midterm.
Strong accent, but easy to follow nonetheless. Quizzes and tests were fair, even easy if you've done the assignments. A good prof.
Had her for Algebra and Calculus A, wish I had her for Calculus B, definately one of the better/easier math profs. it takes a week or so to get over her accent but that's the only complaint I have.
Once you can understand her, she is a great professor!
can not understand
very very easy prof. wont answer questions in class though, you always have to wait for her office hours. tests and exam were a joke!!
seriously wat is wrong with all u ppl...how can u wish tht she teaches u in calculus or watever...i do not understand as single word she says...oh cmon get back to reality....she calls range... "ringe"...and calls combiniation ... "cambineation" ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿
VERY VERY VERY GOOD... if u overlook the ASYMPTOTO... u'll do fine.. ;)
She's really, REALLY good - her accent definitely butchers some words ('asymptote' or 'equivalent' are my favourites) but she's by far the MOST helpful prof at the U.
very good
Awesome Prof, the best ive had, explains thing really well, is very fair with tests and quizzes, doesnt try to trick students. Very knowledgable.
AWSOME PROF! VERY HELPFUL, and really nice
She is like the smartest math teacher there.. but she cannot be understood in English.. i kinda enjoyed picking words out of her accent... easy exams....
If she spoke english may be it woulda been worth going to her class. I learned more playing eucher then in her class.i quote "the plan go through the oranges"
Learned a lot bout formulers and how to be very basical and specifical in doing calculus....all im sayin ill be playin more euchre and solitaire than learning calc.... waiting for the day that i get kicked out...lol cuz then she;ll know no1 is payin attention since very hard to understand...
good teacher
Great prof, tests & quizzes are pretty fair, you just have to listen closely to understand her
The cutest lady in the world, awesome prof, very fair, awesome teacher, what else can i say everyone loves the wang
man her tests were a joke... if she is teaching any math class whatsoever.. take it.. i garuntee if you just do the assigned homework. you will end up with an A .. her test were SOOOOOOOOO EASY omfg i love her haha
Great teacher, Great notes and very intelligent. Shes enthusiastic and wants to help you. Only problem is the thick accent, if you can get used to it you'll love her. Also her midterms are straight forward,
She is the most adorable lady in the world. She is very nice, and all her tests and quizes are extremely fair, just do the assigned work and you wont have a problem!!
very very adorable lady, you will always see her smiling! has a slight accent but does not really interfere with her awesome teaching. her tests and final are pretty fair, just do the homework and know ur stuff, you will excel in this class!
Once you get used to her accent she is AWESOME!! She actually knows how to teach...unlike alot of other profs and she really likes to help
very helpful teacher. hard to understand at first. then gets better. always smiling. tests and quizes are easy.
Good teacher. Gives many examples and stays on schedule.
Had her for algebra, all you need to do is go to her classes and take her notes, the examples she does in class are EXACT to what she puts on the quizs and tests. She just changes the numbers/variables. She is also nice and easy to appraoch for help, she's here to help u and not screw u over.
good,helpful,not hard exams, always smiling..:D
Nasty teacher who doesn't care about anything except her class. Doesn't care if you fail. It's funny to her.
Great Prof! GO TO CLASS! The examples she gives you in class are golden if you do the questions in class and practice the homework questions she assigns then you are good. Terrible accent but amazingly enough I understand her 100%. One of the best profs I had at U Windsor and I cant stand a majority of them.
Excellent professor - teaches everything very well - if you attend class you will know how to do all the questions in the book and on her exams!! She actually teaches you!!
worst prof ever. went to every class, didn't understand a word she said. learned more on my own. final had questions on it that were never covered in class. worried more about this class (math for business) than what i was with microeconomics... avoid this prof at all costs!
No the best English speaker, but it's a matter of time before you get used to it. She was clear and approachable for help. Midterms and Final were fair. Curved the midterm when a lot of ppl failed.
hard to understand
AWeSOME!!!!!! BEST PROF I HAVE HAD!! MY FAV CLASS!! (not even joking) hahah i <3 her
I love Jing Wang! She's hilarious, but loves trig and is hard to understand.. arfa = alpha, aucklens = arc length
Hard to understand at first but you get used to it after a week or two...quizes were super easy, midterms and final were harder...She gets super excited during lecture, you can tell she enjoys math...
Hard to understand at first, but you will get used to her accent. Always smiling. Questions from quizzes/tests are straight out of homework and notes. No trick questions on the exam. If you do all your HW you should definitely get more than an A-.
Her accent was hard to understand at first, but by the end I was translating for other people. She was always happy and she laughed at my class quite a bit because we didn't understand what was going on. She also says "Ok" a lot, and one time we counted. In 80 minutes, she said "Ok" 475 times. No joke.
Understanding Wanglish takes some practice, but after a few lectures, one should be close to fluent. She is very enthusiastic about the material, you can tell she really loves math. Her tests were fair and as long as one does the assigned problems, there is no reason for not getting an A.
If you can't understand thick asain accents then you won't get her lectures
By the end of this class you will either be able to speak Chinese or you will have become very friendly with your textbook.
my advice: STAY CLEAR FROM HER CLASSES!!! Final exam was a mind bender... The marking on midterm(s), and exam were unfair, part marks are harder to get than her horrible accent. The only reason I did well in this class is from watching algebra videos on youtube.
nice prof esy xam....bt speaks bad ..not good in english..bt helpful
Pre-requisite: Chinese 101. Very hard to understand, i had to make a jing wang dictonary: Black Multiplication = Block Multiplication . Mulchiple = Multiple . Liny = Linear . and says "okay" a billion times in class... about once every 10 seconds... useless teacher!
Really easy. Most of the stuff you already learned in high school. I never opened my textbook in that class. Also very student friendly.
Absolutely wonderful professor and I had her for both Linear Algebra 1 and Integral Calculus. Sure, her accent can sometimes be difficult to understand but I didn't think it was as bad as some people are saying; I followed along just fine. Extremely knowledgeable, helpful during office hours, lenient marking, fair midterms and enthusiastic!
Not a hard teacher if you study the material well. Couldn't understand a single word so I learned everything from the textbook but she was always there to help if you needed it. Great Prof
Can't understand she says. But going to class is important because she gives good examples that will help you on the testsexam. She's really nice and is very willing to help if you ask
Had her for 140, 141, and 120. You learn her accent and speech patterns after about a week. Very easy to approach and hardworking, never getting off topic in class. Gives many examples. Midterms are generally easy, but finals are much more difficult. Do all of the practice she assigns and you'll absolutely do well.
To start, it's an incredibly difficult course. I don't know why it was mandatory, but that's beside the point. Wang provides INCREDIBLE examples, so YOU MUST GO TO CLASS. My biggest criticism is that she can be very cold when you don't understand. She'll help you until you get it, but not without a condescending laugh.
She's somewhat easy to understand. I sat close to the front and paid attention during the lectures so that helped a lot. The material is somewhat difficult but totally doable. I didn't need the textbook. She's a great prof, great at explaining. I learned a lot.
First of all she doesnt know how to teach, her accent is the worst, and when you talk to her she just shuts u up. She marks hard, also i hope she curves.
Sit close to the front because she's got a pretty hardcore accent. The class is difficult, but as long as you put in the time and do the homework you will be okay. I was scared but ended up doing very well!
After a couple of weeks, you can understand her accent. She makes math fun and knows how to build up to the tougher bits. If you do all the homework and participate in labs, you will get a good mark. Dr. Wang is willing to help, even with the subjects we aren't in her section to begin with. Go to lectures 100%! Examples on board useful for labs.
I had her for differential calc and linear algebra and loved her. Her exams are reasonable, study the lecture notes very well and make sure you understand them and you should do well. She has an accent, but you will get used to it, and she writes down the sentences she's saying in her notes on the board so just copy. She's super excited about math
Probably the nicest human being in existence. Her accent may take a couple classes to get used to but it is not a big deal. Her midterms were very easy and the final wasn't bad either. Don't be scared if the practice tests are hard because the actual tests are 10x easier.
great if u copy her class notes and review it u can get a A quiet easy
Had her for linear algebra and she was great! Go to class, copy the notes, and study and you'll do great! Also had her for integral calc and it was much tougher. Do the homework! The first midterm was brutal but it only got easier for me. :) Her examples are incredible, just go to class!
Had her for calc 3 and enjoyed it. Makes good notes in class, easy A if you understand her and all her homework questions.
I loved Dr. Wang. Had her for first year differential calculus. I went in to the course scared because i am not the best at math and her accent was pretty thick. Got used to the accent super quickly and realized shes such an amazing teacher. Knows how to explain things so well. Super easy midterms as long as you study a good amount.
Dr. Jin Wang is a great teacher she is so hilarious. Her lectures are pretty good and the midterms were easy but beware because the exam is literally so hard ! but her class was good
Lectures are amazing. Try to pay attention and your concepts will get clear. Exams are based on the homework assignment she gives, so be on top of that.
Funny
Very difficult to understand and has difficulty understanding students when approached with questions and concerns, does not actually care about students. The final is worth 50 percent of your grade so get ready to study your ass off.
Had her for differential & integral. Teaches by example a lot which I found very useful - these can be used to help prepare for what exam questions will be like. Accent can be hard to understand at times but she writes everything on the board so if you didn't hear it you can read it. She's very cheery in class which was nice! Gives textbk qs for hw
Jing Wang is a great prof. She's quite enthusiastic and humorous. Know the material well before heading into a test and you should be able to get 100 or a high-90 rather easily.
Very thorough with lectures and is willing to give extra office hours to help out a struggling student. Gives textbook questions for practice which are very helpful, however following her in class examples should be enough for midterm practice. Had her for both integral and differential and would prefer if both had a lab for extra help and practice
Shes very smart but not good at projecting her ideas to her students. I took the easier class and still did not get it. Dont take unless mandatory its a very hard class but if you do the work and learn things by yourself you should be good. Dont forget to talk to your lab GAs theyre very helpful in understanding the contents. Good luck
JingWang is so cute, she is so eager about teaching math and she goes very slow with harder concepts. Very fun and makes learning math not as boring as it should be. Take her class if you want to be blue pilled, her midterms are easier but the final is written by Sarker. Proceed with caution, if held back you should do the homework and Youtube/Khan
She is a very good professor she goes at a good pace, especially for harder examples
She's an excellent professor with a great teaching style. Her lessons flow at a steady pace that's easy to follow.
She was basically what you expect from a professor. She gave decent lectures, fair grading, and an outline for both the midterm and the final, which helped a lot. The course, in general, was pretty bland, but in the end, that's more about the material than about the prof. I recommend just doing the homework she assigns, and you'll be fine.
I took integral calculus over the summer. Main thing is the homework questions she posts! They are a lot but you will get an 80+ if you do those. Her final was from her homework questions as well.
She's good, I like her but the only issue I have is that she doesn't post any content in bright space, like at all. Only homework. So if you had to miss lectures one day because of any reason, ur cooked icl. but she Is nice and answers questions but like yea nothing to study off of if u dont have all the notes down
The professor made linear algebra easy to understand with clear explanations and examples. The tests were fair, and she provided a detailed breakdown of questions beforehand so the students were prepared. However, she doesn't post content on Brightspace so attending class is necessary to access material. Overall, I highly recommend this professor.
Amazing professor. Does a great job explaining complex topics to students. All midterm outlines are given to students to prepare you for the tests, all questions are fair and covered thoroughly in class, and grading is also done very generously. Just make sure you attend lectures as close to nothing is posted on brightspace.
Jing Wang is a wonderful professor! Sure, her Chinese accent could trip you sometimes, but just follow what she writes down in her lectures, attend her labs, and do the simple homework she posts. The exams are all based on the homeworks and are all easy, and she cares for her students. I encourage anyone taking math to have her as your prof!
Lectures are well taught and cover material that end up on the homework/exams. Has a noticable accent but after a couple lectures you get used to it. Part of your grade is made up by showing up for the labs which is also a nice. If you pay attention in lectures, go to the labs, and do the very little (but effective) homework, you'll do great.
Extremely easy to pass as long as you show up to lectures and labs. Also gives good midterm outlines to prepare you. Great teacher
Mandatory labs for grade. Great prof ngl
