Dr. Jo is wonderful lady that means well and is passionate about psychology-- just maybe not abnormal psychology specifically. Her class is extremely lecture heavy and you can tell she is not super familiar with the material. When students ask her questions, a majority of the time she has no idea. Overall, it's not the best but class is interesting
DO NOT MISS CLASS! if for some reason you have to take Jo do not miss a single class. PAY ATTENTION! READ YOUR TEXT BOOK! NO OTHER GRADES! honestly one of the worst classes i've ever taken
She's serious about her no talk/cell phone policy, but it's actually not a bad policy tbh. If you can take organized notes and study them well, you'll be fine. Just try to actually make sense of the material. Write down the examples she uses! It helps!! She might seem intimidating, but she's nice and her tests are pretty identical to the notes.
She says 85% of her tests are based on anything she says in class- but then her lectures are really disorganized. She's all over the place and forgets what shes told us and what she hasn't told us. We only have 4 exams, no other grades. When students ask her questions she doesn't usually know the answer. I wouldn't recommend her for abnormal psych.
85% of her test are from the lectures and 15% are from the textbook (which she gives specific pages to. If you attend the class and take her verbal notes word for word, you can easily pass the class without a problem.
her class is consisted of only lectures. you will only know whats going on for a test if you listen and take notes. full on lecturer, no power points just speaking. It is very interesting material but she can get off topic. Her tests are the tricky part because you really have to know the exact difference between two similar things.
Dr. Jorgenson was a good lecturer at times but sometimes her classes could feel like they would never end and her phone and talking polices felt very high school like. She is however always there to help her students and is willing to stay past her office hours to help students understand what they missed on their exam
Very solid choice. She is clear with what you need to know for tests, and basically gives no work outside of class.
She has a very VERY strict cell phone policy which I hated but all in all I think she is a really great teacher. If you take her class, make sure to go to the lectures because she makes it very clear what material from the book she finds important and testable. I found her lectures organized and understandable and her tests were straight-forward.
Great psych professor and if you show up to class you can easily get an A
Attendance isn't mandatory, but you need to go or you won't know everything that's on the test (make friends, you'll need their notes) Only graded by 5 tests and an easy 100 research grade (5% of your grade). No homework. She's very scatterbrained & sometimes hard to follow but she writes everything you need to know on the board and then elaborates
In my personal opinion, it isn't very smart to try to be a professor and run a presidential campaign at the same time. She is not very skilled at technology, so if you are wanting to take this course during hybrid learning, maybe choose a different professor. The class itself isn't hard but she was definitely distracted during my semester with her.
Her lectures are kind of all over the place, but she is a very sweet lady. She is not that organized, and her tests are kind of hard, but if you take notes and study you should be okay. She doesn't grade attendance, but the only grades you get are on tests, so you need to go to class.
I was excited to take Professor Jorgenson's class due to the fact that I am very interested in Psychology. However, there is no way she should have taught this semester. She was very scatter brained due to the fact that she was running for president. Most of her students feel as though she did not pay full attention to the class due to her tour.
This class was chaotic at best. Dr. Jorgenson was always clear about what we needed to know for tests but her lectures were super disorganized and she jumped around a lot making her super hard to follow and to understand. It was fine being online and being able to rewind recordings, but I definitely would have struggled if this were in-person.
Lectures are all over the place. She doesn't use or post slides, no recordings. If you miss class then you're going to struggle on the test. She is impossible to take notes for she jumps from topic to topic, I'll go back and try to study and I don't know what information is for what topic. Probably the worst teacher I've ever had.
Pros: gives extra credit, classes not mandatory, nice, exams can be taken in person or online Cons: lectures are kinda all over the place, exams are decently hard (but you'll be okay if you pay attention to class), if you skip class you need to find a friend who will send you notes
I cannot follow Professor Jorgensen's train of thought. She jumps back and forth between topics and goes off on long tangents that have nothing to do with the content. If you have trouble following disorganized lectures, she is not the professor for you. The exams are 50 questions each and are doable as long as you study all of the content.
Super sweet lady, very much all over the place. Difficult to follow at times, and her tests are 90% lecture notes so you need to be in class, but she doesn't grade attendance. Only tests and Sona Research for grades. Offers extra credit, not much. If you read the textbook section she gives you and memorize your notes you should be fine.
Your tests make up 95% of your grade and the tests aren't cake walks. I would suggest taking another teacher if you are looking to receive an A as a final grade.
She really gets a bad rep, and I actually enjoyed her class. Lectures can be all over the place and a bit boring, but it is not an overly difficult class. As long as you show up to class and study the notes from the lectures and readings she gives, exams are pretty easy. Also gives at least a 5 point curve on every exam.
Her lectures are all over the place and a little hard to follow. Reading the textbook definitely helped clear up some parts. If you dont go to class and get someone elses notes, trust me it will make NO sense so if you take her go to class.
Avoid this class if you are not a psych major! 4 exams total for your entire grade. 85% lecture 15% book reading. If you miss a lecture you miss a vital part of the course you need to pass. She is the most unorganized professor I've ever had. If you're a business major just take SOC instead. Hard to study for exams, as it's just notes.
Class wasn't horrible, and I liked her teaching style sometimes however she was really disorganized and with the way she taught things it was hard to connect the concepts with how she asked about them on the exams. She says attendance is optional, but she does not post the notes or lectures anywhere so if you don't go you won't pass.
honestly if you just actually show up to class this is not difficult at all to do well in lol people just complain because they don't go and then expect to get an a. the tests are just literally verbatim what she talks about during class and if you take notes you will do fine. she is definitely all over the place but it keeps it interesting
People like to diss Jo because I can agree that she can be disorganized sometimes, but she 100% gives you every single thing you need to study and do well in the class. The exams just your notes and specific reading sections that she gives you. All you have to do is attend class and take notes and BOOM ya got an A. Good student?-take her for psych
Only way to get notes is by lecture. Lecture is repetitive and boring - bring caffeine. Write down EVERYTHING she writes on the board plus specific examples (usually same on test). Test questions are very specific so study every single word of your notes. IF YOUR PHONE IS OUT YOU'RE REMOVED FROM CLASS. Studying early is vital. Hard class.
Ohhhhh Jojo. You will leave her class wondering if you have any sanity left on some days. But, once you learn her teaching style, it isn't terrible. She's all over the place, so prepare to be skipping around on notes. Write everything she says because everything said in class is fair game on exams. Not a bad Professor but not super good either.
Had her for PSYC 3060-human sexual behavior, just started teaching this course, makes class much harder than in past years. Her lectures are impossible to follow all over the place puts nothing on the board. Stuck up, rude, makes you feel stupid for asking and refuses to repeat anything Read two chapters a week and does not have steady due dates.
Sometimes the lectures would get a bit boring, but it was still easy to follow along. The tests and quizzes are insanely easy and it is a good class to take for a gen ed.
This class was interesting, however, the tests were very tricky and complicated almost like she purposefully wrote the answer options to confuse you. I found this extremely annoying considering I was expecting this course to be an easy A and it was an elective credit for me. If I knew this before taking the class I would not have.
Jo is a character. She spends a good portion at the beginning of each class answer questions that have been answered repetitively. This class was not hard, and she does get through the material, the lectures are just long and annoying. She does record them. The class is interesting and I would recommend taking it if you can be patient with her.
Took PSYCH 4150 online and she was not great with teaching over Zoom. Goes all over the place and gets off topic during lecture & makes exams really hard. Grade was 100% made up of exams. Not a fan.
This was professor jorgenson's first year teaching 3060 but she did a great job. Dr. King wrote great study guides and you will want to memorize those to get A's on your tests. Be sure to read the textbook throughly and attend the lectures. Many of the stories and numbers/stats she says in class will be on the test. Overall cares about her students
This was my second class with professor Jorgenson, and I enjoyed this class. If you take detailed notes in class and read the assigned reading, you will do well. Grades are determined by tests only, but there is opportunity for extra credit, and she curves almost every test depending on the averages. If you study you'll do fine.
I took this class expecting it to be slightly to moderately difficult. It turned out to be extremely difficult because her tests are very specific. She does allow extra credit and gives you specific readings, but if you are taking a full load of classes that are difficult, I would definitely not take this class. The only grades are 4 exams as well.
Professor Jorgensen is one of the best professors I've had at Clemson. Her tests are extremely straightforward and if you attend class and read the book you will get an A, easily. If you're too lazy to read from a textbook you'll probably end up blaming her for it. This seemed to be the case with most of my classmates at least
Her lectures were all over the place and did not match the tests. There are only 3 tests and no other grades so you have to do well on those to get an A. Her tests dont follow the book.
Absolutely horrible at lecturing. She does not present the content you are supposed to be learning well. Makes ignorant remarks during lecture and then had to send out an announcement apologizing. Overall seems scatterbrained and unorganized. You won't know your grade unless you make the effort to calculate your points based off her "system".
This was her second time teaching my class and while she did talk about the syllabus for over four lectures, that was mainly because students kept interrupting her. She is, for the most part a very understanding teacher and makes time for students. Roughly two quizzes a week mostly based on the study guides she posts on canvas.
Her exams are a majority lecture based, but if she gives you textbook page numbers definitely know them for the exam. Overall, she made my 5:00-7:45 class entertaining because you never know what she is going to say!
Oh Jo Jo...She is not bad once you get past the dry humor and monotone voice, but she really does care deeply for her students and is passionate about what she teaches. there are definitely better psych professors, but it is not awful
I DO NOT recommend Jo Jorgenson. She's very unorganized and bias. Her lectures are all over the place, she tends to say bias remarks and later sends a email apologizing. Overall, horrible professor and needs to invest in a power point!
I do not recommend taking Jo. She is so bias and in her own ways that she does not think of other people's feelings. Comments she makes she then has to send out emails to say she is sorry for them. Her lectures are awful we sit in class and listen to her with no PowerPoint slides. Her study guides do not help you on test either.
Jo gets a lot of unnecessary hate- I loved her as a teacher! She was funny but also ensured we understood the material and were prepared for the 4 tests we had. She always related what we were learning in class to the real world. I took the 5-7:45 lecture once a week, which could get super tiring at times, but overall, I had a positive experience.
Professor Jorgenson is not a bad professor, she just delivers material in a very outdated fashion. She is also very peculiar about her exams and grading. It is annoying because she makes your grade so exam heavy but is very secretive about the material and does not really give you access to notes.
The content of this class was not hard, but sitting through her lectures made it 10x harder. This is the most disorganized woman on the planet. Her lectures are beyond frustrating and all over the place. You will not learn a thing, and she is just very condescending.
While I didn't think she was a bad teacher in a lecture perspective, she was very unorganized. I recognize she is very new to this class and how it is run, but it was frustrating to deal with. It's been days since the semester ended and I still don't know my final grade. This class works on a point system rather than a percentage.
It is true, Jo Jorgenson is not organized at all. However, ALL you need to do is actually listen to her lectures and takes notes. It definitely does help to read the textbook. If you have to end up taking the final she pretty much ended up giving us the final. Not too bad of a class, but do not go into her class thinking it will be an easy A.
Professor Jorgenson is very knowledgable in the content she teaches. Grading was done based on 4 exams and a research grade. Notes were not provided anywhere other than in lecture, so attendance was very important. She is also not very organized with her notes. A percentage of textbook questions were on the exams, so you will need the textbook.
Professor Jorgenson is new to teaching this class. The grading scale is based on points and not percentage, and she did not curve grade letters. Points were given from textbook quizzes, so the textbook is needed. There were 4 normal exams and a final exam, so the lowest exam score points get dropped. She was not organized at all with notes.
Jo Jorgenson is very unique. This class is on zoom, and she spends most of the lectures rambling on about something unrelated. That being said, the class material is actually interesting and useful. She gives big study guides for tests, with a decent amount of effort you can definitely get an A.
Jorgenson has a bad rep, but in my opinion she is really not that bad. I took the 5-7:45 class which was tough to get through, especially because she kicks you out if you phone is out, but it is definitely manageable. If you take good notes you should be fine because everything is curved.
While her grading can be a little unclear, she really is a compassionate teacher. If you talk to her about your grade or have her explain something you she will put aside the time to do it. There was a complication with my grade and she allowed me to fix my mistake when that was something she didn't have to.
If you're lokoing for a class that is both fun and interesting, this is it.
LOVED HER! She's so funny, sometimes she goes on weird tangents but usually its about the topic. I'm going to take her again in summer :)
Jo seems strict during lectures, but she has to be considering the class size. I struggled with this class a lot so I met with her and she helped me find the resources I didn't know I needed. She did however follow up with me a few weeks later. The lectures are long, but she does her best to add little stories to go along with the material.
Dr. J was a great professor for this class. She makes the structure and grading clear. It's entirely online and you don't have to go if you don't want to. It's based on a point system, so once you hit a certain number you have and A and are done with the class. Definitely take if you need an upper level psych class!!
Touch your cell phone... you die. Beware of TAs. Play 2048 cupcakes during class. I promise it will help.
No wonder she lost the election to a guy that wears a boot on his head.
She goes very off topic during lecture and wastes time. She told me I was not smart enough to receive an A in any of her classes. Her grading system is by points and is so confusing. I learned everything through reading not through her lectures. Do not recommend unless her as a professor, but the class is fine.
For PSYC 2010, there are no assignments but your grade is determined by tests. The tests are pretty hard if you don't show up to class but if you take good notes/get notes from somebody who knows how to take notes you'll be fine. There is limited extra credit and some research hours that you'll need to contribute to your grade.
Prof Jorgenson gets too much hate. She only puts notes on the whiteboard but if you go to class then you have all the information you need to pass. She tells lots of stories but it helps to make the information relevant to real life events. As long as you take notes and study you'll be fine.
Dr. Jorgensen is not as bad as people make her out to be. She is always willing to meet with you outside of class, either in person or on zoom, if you need help. Attendance isn't mandatory; you should attend class as most tests are based on things covered in the course. If you show up and actually work to get the grade you want, you will do fine.
Take good notes, that's the # 1 rule, and go to class (EVERY CLASS). Find a buddy you can get notes from if you miss a class as well because she does not post study guides or record lectures. Jo is super funny but the lectures are long. She is very smart and passionate about psych, so just go to class, take good notes, and STUDY!
At the beginning of the semester, she said she doesn't put trick questions on her exams when in reality, most of her questions were trick questions. In PSYC 3060, it was hard to do great on the exams, but it wasn't too difficult to get an A in the class. She also lets students skip the last & final exam if they have an A, so that was a huge plus.
Would not recommend. Her lectures were absolutely pointless and it was all textbook learning. The reviews she gives are straight out of the book and she does not round grades or give any extra credit. She grades on a point system and because of that I have been two points away from an A for the last month.
I highly enjoyed this class! She designed the lectures and quizzes to help students study and understand all the information without putting hours and hours into the material. The quizzes are designed to walk you through a textbook chapter, and the following lecture will review the same material that is more prevalent in the exam.
This woman is something else. Her lectures did more harm than good for me, so I strictly learned from the textbook. You have at least one quiz each week and its graded all or nothing, and there are a few tests. She grades based on points rather than percentages and it sucks. I had a 99% in the class but finished with a low B based on points.
Go to class or at least get someone who can take notes for you. Anything said in class can be on the test. The only grades are exams and a few small extra credit options.
Ive taken two classes with Dr. J and above all I would say she is extremely fair. Do all the EC and assignments even if its for very few points because every point helps at the end. She makes the grading very clear which means she wont give much leeway but she sends so many reminders. She's a kind and funny professor that wants you to succeed.
I took her Human Sexual Behavior class; she was awesome. Easy A as long as you actually attend class and do what's assigned. I think her lectures are hilarious, her grading is more than fair, and she goes above and beyond for her students.
I hated it. Kicks u out if she sees any phones. Terrible hand writing. not funny.
Attendance is not mandatory, but if you do not go you will fail. She does not post any of the notes online if you miss a class. She only grades tests and the research requirement for the class. It is very hard to follow her lectures when you do go and the questions on the exams are very vague so it is hard to comprehend the exams.
Pretty easy as long as you actually listen and take notes and do study guides. Her lectures are entertaining and she's funny. She posts lecture recordings if the class is online. She is a little chatty but she's always trying to make things as easy as she can for students. Just pay attention and take good notes!
I LOVED Jo! The class was very easy if you actually went and listened. I would ask so many questions and she was happy to answer all of them. She does go off on tangents but honestly they are pretty interesting! Overall, a very easy class and you should take it if you are a psych major or minor.
She's funny and goofy, which made the class entertaining. Super easy class. I did it online synchronous so just watched her lectures and took notes on that. She often disappeared off the camera to play with her cats lol. Just take good notes and the exams were straight forward and easy
Dr. J curved our tests at least 7 points on each one. Tests were based on lectures mostly so go to class. Do the extra credits. It is a no phone class. Study and take good notes or find someone that does. Tests are straightforward if you understand situations and examples. She is willing to meet with you outside of class to help you study.
For a gen ed class this class was ridiculously a pain. You can't have your phone out in class whatsoever, will literally get kicked out of class. The lectures are hard to follow because she just goes off on tangents for no reason. The exams are on every little detail from lecture and she doesn't post notes. T
I have never taken a Psych class before this one and it was hell. Her lectures make 0 sense because she gets off topic so quickly. There was also no homework or quizzes so your grade is based on only exams. If you are not a good test taker, I STRONGLY urge you to take another class with a different professor.
This class was ridiculously hard for a gen ed class when it did not need to be. There was at least 1 quiz a week which was open note however they barely counted for anything towards your grade. If you dont have a photographic memory you wont do well on tests as they test the most minute details of anything. Lecture is confusing and always offtopic
She is very fair but her tests are difficult because it is 85% lecture based. She does give chances for extra credit and is very fair with final grades. She pays attention to engagement with the extra credit opportunities.
Loved her class, super interesting! Grade is made up almost entirely of exams but they're all multiple choice and are clearly related to topics covered in class. Read the textbook and use quizlet and you'll be fine! People say she goes on tangents but usually they are just real-world applications that greatly helped my understanding.
Mid at best. The only word I have to describe her and her class. Good luck reaching her. Not too terribly hard anyways.
Never took a psych class before this. Her lectures were very interesting and casual, no fancy syntax. Her "tangents" are actually just real world examples. As long as you pay attention and take good notes you'll be ok. Super interesting class with a good professor.
This is my second class with her and she's amazing! She is easily accessed outside of class if you're struggling and she really wants you to succeed. Her exams are quite intricate so you do need to focus on the small things when studying, but I've loved both classes I've taken with her! Easy to pass if you listen, take notes, and ask questions.
The content of this class was extremely important to learn, and she was very well versed in it, but her time management was really bad. I taught myself most of the information I learned in this class from the textbook. Her grading system is very confusing, and I could never understand it. I like it when her cat interrupts the lecture though.
Jo Jorgensen is super passionate about this class but this class is NOT an easy A by any means. If you do not attend every lecture and take in depth notes you will not do well at all. Her lectures are not structured and she goes on a lot of tangents. The book is also necessary to do well. Overall an informative class but harder than expected.
loved this class
Dr. Jorgensen was very disorganized. The lectures were hard to follow and often didn't make sense. However, she was always available outside the classroom, was respectful of our time, and a fair grader. Attendance isn't mandatory, but highly recommended. It's a no phone class and she will kick you out. She also curves tests, which is very nice!
Dr. J was great. But absolutely NO PHONES in class you will get kicked out. She does not use slides and writes on the board which really helped me learn better. She does not post notes, so take good notes and everything she writes on the board WILL be on the exam. I really enjoyed this class and would take her again in a heartbeat.
Dr. Jorgenson was very interesting and I feel like I learned a lot from her lectures. I think she did a good job at handling the course material, and in my opinion she was pretty clear about what information from lecture would appear on the tests. I think this was an easy and informational class, and I would recommend it to anyone!
Dr. Jorgensen is genuinely passionate about what she teaches, and this is what makes her lectures interesting and engaging. This class was interesting and not something I dreaded having to do; however, it is not an easy A. It's not hard to get an A, but you have to put in the work. Exams are not very easy and the average is usually in the 70s.
Very disrespectful on a personal level. Would respond to basic questions with disparaging emails. Her lecture style is outdated and not effective. Students would often get screamed at. The class is unnecessarily hard and requires a lot of work. If you are a fan of getting yelled at and taking excessive notes then this is the class for you.
Very engaging and very helpful. Makes her expectations very clear. You don't /need/ to read the book to pass, but I would recommend it just because it helps
Had her asynchronous 3060 and really enjoyed the class. She was a little ditsy but in a funny way and the material she taught was actually interesting. The quizzes and study guides are literally what the tests are made up of so if you study/memorize those you will get an A. She tells you straight up what she expects
If you don't go to class or get the notes you will fail, but as long as you show up and write EVERYTHING she says down you will be good. The exams are very straightforward and anything she says in class is fair game for the exam. Also phones are banned in class and you will get kicked out if you are caught with it.
Despite what people say, her class is pretty straightforward. If you go to class and study a bit you will be fine. The tests have a lot of information, but are relatively easy. She tells you exactly what you need to know from the book for the test too. The only thing I hated was the 3 hour lecture at night, but it was nice not having twice a week.
I have heard other things about her into Psych classes, but for this one she was great. She lets you exempt exam 4, the final, and the last four quizzes if you have an A after exam 3. All the lectures are recorded so you can basically treat the class as asynchronous besides exams (which are very easy if you do her study guides and take notes.
Class isn't mandatory but the tests are so hard. The questions are worded in such a weird way that they are confusing. this class is the bane of my existence
Jo Jorgensen is a great professor in my opinion. I took PSYC 3060: Human Sexual Behavior online and I felt like she was very clear about what was expected in the class and how to succeed in this class.
My least favorite class of freshman year. Her lectures are so hard to gain information from as you have to pay attention to every little word she says for the 2 hour and 45 minute class. Tests are hard and are your whole grade. She literally just stands at the front of the room and talks about nothing the whole time. Nice woman, would not recommend
I had heard bad things about Jorgenson, but for this class, she was great! Lots of quizzes that come straight from the textbook (meaning you have to read it), but otherwise she is very straightforward about what material will be on exams. Lectures were actually interesting, and you can exempt the fourth exam and the final if you have an A.
I loved learning sexual behavior in her class, which I find so interesting, so I was shocked when I heard negative things about her. She made sure that we could get the most out of it, by providing study guides, posting videos on Canvas, or answering questions after class. She is very nice, funny, and (I think) genuinely cares about her students.
I did not enjoy this class she moved back and forth between different topics so randomly she's gotta have some major ADHD. Best of luck if you take this
went to every class, read textbook, & would studied for 10 hours, but I could never make above a C. She will go on tangents, but still take notes on those because they will show up on the test. Do all the extra credit! People either aced the course or really struggled. She seems sweet and like she cares, but you have to show her that you care too.
Dr. J's class is engaging, but requires dedication. No phones allowed - she'll kick you out. Lectures are board-based, so take detailed notes. Use Unstuckstudy, ChatGPT, and the textbook to prep for the tough but fair exams. Overall, a rewarding experience.
She was so rude and was not helpful in any sort of way. If you have a valid excuse, she will not care. Do not take her class.
This was by far the easiest online class I have taken. Quizzes our given often, but you are able to use the textbook so it is very easy to do good. You are given study guides for each chapter and the test are mainly off of them so highly recommend doing them to do good!
I think she was a great professor for this course. She does tend to talk a lot about random things for a while, so I just watched lecture recordings a day after class and skipped through the tangents. A lot of the exam is based off of textbook study guides. If you have an A after exam 3, you are exempt from the 4th exam and the final.
I love JOJO! I have taken nearly every class she offers at Clemson. Some people give her a bad wrap, but I think that comes down to them not liking her teaching style. To pass the quizzes, just use Quizlet, not Chat GPT, and then actually study for the exam. If you have an A by the third exam, you get to exempt both the fourth exam and the final.
Very Exam heavy. Her exams are hard, but she writes notes and lectures in the white board so it's very easy to take notes and keep up. You do have to read the textbook, and go to class to be able to do good on the exams.
Jo's class is entertaining, but requires full attention at all times to get all of the info. She can come off as harsh, and she's blunt. But if you're okay with that and actually go to her class (at least for this course) you'll be fine. I studied the day of each exam and got an A. Just don't start skipping or you'll never stop (like me).
I am disappointed with my experience in Psych 2010. I find it quite difficult to succeed when there is no study guide, no homework, no slides, and no direction regarding tests. She tends to ramble uselessly during lectures, and her exams are very hard. She only teaches definitions and sparse examples, whereas the exams are application based.
There are only exams in the grade book and one outside of class assignment. She has a no phone, no talking, and no recording policy. She's really funny and nice, but her material is based on what she talks about, no PowerPoint. I like the class, but I am a visual learner, so it can be harder.
her class is only graded on the 4 exams, i wouldn't recommend taking this take sociology if anything. She gets off of track so easilly you don't understand anything and she doesn't have slides and hand writes a single word on the board and then explains easy too fall behind.
4 exams, tests on specific stories she brings up in class. She's a little out there with some comments, and I wish she had a more structured teaching style. Textbook is very helpful and is used for some test questions. Interesting topics, just taught in her own style. Doing more than 12 SONA credits gives you extra credit for the final score.
JoJo is very funny and interesting. She writes terms on the board so you can easily get them down. She's a bit scatterbrained, but once you get the hang of the structure of her class and exams, you'll be fine. The final is also not cumulative. Probably more difficult than you would expect for an intro class, but you'll honestly be fine.
Dr. J's class is very interesting, even for a non-major. She writes all the terms on the board, make sure to write everything down. She does tell you when something she says isn't on the exam, which I like. The class is graded by the 4 exams and research credits, the final also isn't cumulative. As long as you study for exams you should be fine
literally such an easy course. you do no have to work at all. online exams. if you have an a you exempt last exam/quizzes and the final. take it.
I think she is great. Yes she's a little crazy and sometimes goes on mini tangents but it is very clear she is passionate about what she teaches. Sometimes the test questions were a little tricky becuase they were very specific, but I think this is justified because the tests are not cumulative. If you can study, you can take this class.
She's good, she writes info that will be on the test on the board. She's very accessible outside of class. The class and info is difficult, be prepared to study and put the work in. She's so helpful, reach out when you need it. She loves tangents so just go with it. good luck!
Most confusing professor ever, just read the textbook, you really don't have to pay attention in class if you don't want to. Her lecture makes me want to fall asleep
Dr. J's class was very interesting even as a non major, just pay attention to the lectures and read the textbook readings she assigns and you should be fine.
Wow. I understand the mixed reviews for Jo. She's not for everyone. An absolute character. I found the class i be clear, informative, and well organized. She is serious about phones in class. I really enjoyed her chaotic energy, class videos, and the exam content was well covered in class. Class is entirely lectures as she writes on a white board.
This wasn't a hard class at all and I genuinely put so much time into studying, but I feel like my grade does not reflect that. Tests were extremely confusing and brought my grade down a lot. I love Jo! She is so funny, but not a good teacher at all. Sometimes she would talk for 50 minutes before getting into class material.
The notes she writes are super brief and abbreviated, making it hard to understand what she means. However, for 3060, she records the lectures, so you could watch class whenever. You definitely need to study for tests, but as long as you do so in advance and read the textbooks sections, the exams aren't too bad. She will get off topic a lot though.
I love Dr. J! She's a great professor and is very entertaining to listen to. This class was especially interesting. I also took Psych 2010 with her, and I plan to take more with her. After you know what her exams are like, they aren't bad, and it's very easy to get an A. She is very approachable, so you can easily go to her if you need help.
Dr. J was a knowledgeable professor, but her lectures were disorganized. For exams, she would use material straight from the lecture, but she was hard to follow and would write down few things. The exams were small detail oriented, but not impossible. She was very willing to meet outside of class, and gave plenty of extra credit opportunities.
Honestly, she was just all over the place. You had to memorize every single word from her lecture to get a good grade on the exam, but she would side-track so much that you couldn't even tell what was important and what wasn't.
while this class can be good, if you don't have the time to study for hours and go to every single class you won't do good. her lectures are all over the place and ca be hard to follow along with. she also isn't the nicest professor when it comes to to asking for help (she'll just say your notes are wrong)
To describe her, I would say 'all over the place'. She would write something on the board, and go to something else, so you have to figure out what to write. I also went by her test review, and it was very unhelpful. The reason my test grades went up was because of God, and me figuring out what to do. She was almost President though- pretty cool.
Dr. Jorgenson is a great professor. Her lectures can be boring, but it's obvious that she is very intelligent. She is strict about her policies, but they do make for a quiet learning environment. I would definitely recommend doing the readings as she assigns them; she uses a lot of questions directly from the book.
