Mr. Arias was extremely helpful during lab class. He went to all students during lab and spent time demonstrating. He also was able to teach the class without a textbook. I really liked his class!!!

I've never enjoyed chemistry so much. Keep up with his lectures and any non-idiot can do well in his class.

Awesome teacher. I failed Chem twice, I wish I had taken him 1st. Answers any questions. Works out problems w/ you, helps to prepare you for tests, only tests on lecture notes. Used book only as a reference & 4 HW. He's big on attendance & keeps class alive. He understands that life happens & helps you move forward.

Without exaggerating, Dr. Arias is, not only the easiest, but one of the best teachers I have ever had. He's funny, witty, incredibly smart, and he loves his students. He knows how to teach and he does it exceptionally. When class ended I was actually very sad it was over. Hardly uses the textbooks, midterms and final was SO easy. Love it.

Incredible teacher. He really has a gift for teaching. he interacts with the class and understand the material isnt too interesting. He give clear nots and the tests are straight forward. Best chem teacher Ive had so far.

He is worth driving in LA traffic during rush hour hands down. Very willing to help especially during lab. Will practically do the lab for you. You don't need the book. Most of his quiz question are from the HW and what you see on the board is what will be on the exam. He has past quizes & exams on reserve at the library.

I am just finishing up Dr. Arias class right now, he is so dope... Super easy to understand, down to earth, and laid back. Gives tons of extra credit his quizzes and tests are easy as he gives you last years exams to study (he makes the hard questions on last years the easy ones this year...). one of the best teachers i have ever had...

Took Dr A.for both 101 and 102. this guy kicks ass! he teaches and is clear about what he wants u to learn! his deal is to help u pass not to fail u! pay attn though! Dr. Arias Rocks oh and he loves USC Fight on! lol

Good teacher. Dr. Arias is more helpful than any other teachers I've had. And he gives a lot of extra credit and is willing to give you some credit for late work.

Great instructor! Gives out extra credit and a lot of example for you to understand. Labs are fun and he is very helpful as the other lab instructors. Drops two lowest scores on quizzes and half of the final are the same questions from previous exams. Highly recommend. He is not shabby looking to boot ;>

Very clear and specific lectures, so take good notes. He will help you when you dont understand. He handles questions very effectively. This to me is a boring subject, but he managed to keep it very interesting. There will be about 8 quizes and 4 exams. The two lowest quizes are dropped. You will get an A if you do the homework and study the notes.

One of THE BEST teachers I've had! I enjoyed his lectures and his teaching methods. He is pretty clear with his ways of teaching and a very down to earth which makes students feel comfortable to approach him! I had a lot of fun in his class! Awesome teacher!

Best professor ever! Plus he is Hot. His exams & quizzes are 100% based on his notes. Do the homework to familiarize yourself with the formulas and you're guaranteed an A. I'll be taking more un-needed chem classes just to be privileged with his delightful being. He is awesome! Dr. Arias rocks =)

dr. arias should be the god of all chemistry teachers. lecture notes are simple, easy to understand & are right on point. 8 quizzes, 3 exams. he'll walk you step by step before doing the lab so you won't get confused. he's always willing to help. he LOVES to make jokes. he's a cool teacher, DON'T take anyone else for chemistry.

If you take any other prof, that will be your first mistake. He is above and beyond the standard. If every professor was like him, more interest would be built for chemistry. Get to know him cus he is one funny/upbeat guy.

Chemistry 65- This guy is awesome! He is very helpful, his tests are based on the notes. He has a nice butt, easy on the eyes. This class was very fun and somewhat interesting, I don't know anyone who failed or got anything lower than a C, and those who got a C slacked or didn't show up to class. He's cool to talk to, very funny and sarcastic!

Took him in the Fall and was a wonderful chemistry experience. He was fair and funny. His tests are fair. He drops on quiz (and a test i believe?) Only thing that sucks is the lab was before lecture so even if you finish early you couldnt go home :( Take him if you can, you wont regret it! :)

I really hate Chemistry, but Dr. Arias(Yes Dr. not Mr. or Arias or "Hey Dude"- Please have some courtesy, you are in college now) made it fun. He goes above and beyond what is expected from a teacher. He sponsors the Science Club and is a good friend sometimes on a personal level. I am fortunate to have him as a professor.

So I pretty much owe this comment to Dr. Arias after taking all three of the classes he teaches. Anyways, he is funny , sarcastic, hilarious, but also very helpful and you will enjoy coming to class just to hear his corny jokes. He provides everything you need to do great in the class, just do your work and you will get your A.

Dr. Arias is a pretty cool guy and pretty easy teacher for a chemistry class. The only thing i can say if you plan on majoring in chemistry, i do not think this will be sufficient preparation for the major so think again before signing up for this class

Dr. Arias is the best chemistry instructor with the best teaching skills. Also, his class is easy if you really pay attention to his lectures and follow what he says to you to do. Definitely recommended.

I took him for chem 101 and 102, the exams are pretty hard but he is a pretty lenient grader as long as you try to answer all of the questions on his exam. The lab grade really boosts up your overall grade so don't worry about failing. He's pretty funny and likes to give students corny nicknames.

Arias is a fantastic chemistry professor and he really wants you to succeed. If you try/show up for class, you'll get a C. He's also very funny and pretty hot! Good class :).

The guy is effin awesome. Professor Arias is the coolest professor on the campus and his class is easy. If you study the previous quizzes and tests then you'll do fine. I love that he jokes with the students. Someone below says that he makes the students feel inferior, but I think that person can't take a joke. Go get a beer and cheer up !

Do not skip this Professor. By far the best, I learned and I performed well in his tests and MCAT. You do not have to work hard. He makes you understand, STEP BY STEP (Take his notes, study it, do you homework and you will be fine.

I absolutely hate Chemistry. Going into any profession in the medical field unfortunately involves having to taking some form of Chemistry. With that being said, Dr. Arias by far is one of the best teachers I have ever experienced in my college career. He makes the material easier to comprehend but please note, you have to do the work.

Everything that is in his lectures and homework will be on the exam and quiz; there is no surprise. The class is easy if you just study your notes and homework. He posts the previous semester's quizzes and exams so you know what to expect. Great and funny teacher.

Professor Arias is by far the best chem professor out there!!!! Everything is straight foward. Study off of pervious quizzes and exams online that he posted. ALSO, Homework helps alot!! Whatever is on the Hw is on the quiz and exam, ESAY A is u put effort into studying.

Had him for chem 65 - 102. He teases students, but he does that so you can study, it's not an easy class. For homework, you can write all the answers, he doesn't care because in the end you'll be cheating yourself and it'll show in your scores. The hmwk problems assgned are similar to quizzes and exams. Love this guy, wish he taught ochem :(

Arias is fantastic. super chill and funny. Study the H.W as much as you can as well as the previous tests and quizzes from the semester before that he posts online and he is an easy A :). This class is more about devoting time into studying then actual difficulty.

Great professor, but don't let his personality swerve you into thinking that he's an easy pushover because he's not. Level of difficulty is inaccurate and I highly question those who stated that he is an "easy A" bc if you thought that he's an easy A, why were you here and not at an Ivy League? Lots of hard work and dedication required to pass.

Professor Arias is the BEST Chemistry professor at Harbor College! He has an amazing personality, but will teach Chemistry with humor! Is he tough? Definitely. He will make you work for your grade as he carefully grades every test and quiz! Study the previous tests, quizzes, and do the homework! Every point counts towards the end of the semester!

Great professor in terms of calculations but poor professor in terms of understanding the concepts behind the calculations. He is not a tough professor because he provides all materials ( last semester's quizzes and exams with answers) you need to pass his class with an A. I highly recommend using those to prepare yourself for his exams. Take him!

If you have something negative to say about this man its most likely because YOU bombed a test and despite all the points he willingly gave you for attempting it you still did bad. This dude is awesome I took him for 101 and now I'm taking him for 102. He's funny and helpful if you go to office hours. Put in the work and youll get an A

I am awful at chemistry, but he made it bearable through his humor and solid notes. His 101 class made me work for my grade. I struggled a lot and had to rely on the past exams, quizzes, students of his for help. If you have to take a chemistry class, take it with him.

Best Chem Professor I've ever had. I understood everything he taught because of the good examples he gives and works through. The test are not easy so be prepared to work.

If you are good at math you will provably find 102 easier than 101. Arias is very straight forward and gives you everything you need to succeed on his tests. Study his in class examples, HW and his last semesters quiz's/exams and you should be fine. There really isn't a reason to get any grade under a B so long as you put in decent effort.

He's a great prof; teaches well and is funny. He is very understanding and willing to help you if you want to. He is SUPER lenient with grading; gives A lot of partial credit. Tests are doable, quizzes are harder. Take good notes, do the HW, go to office hours, A to B is def doable.

Tests and quizzes are tough, but you have access to last semester's so definitely study those. Content can be difficult, but he does give you partial credit if you get some of the steps right. HW answers can be copied from the book, but he does pick some of those problems for tests. Lowest 2 quiz scores are dropped. Attend all labs for max points.

You can really tell that he loves to teach and help out his students. Drops 2 out of the 10 quizzes you take and is generous with partial credit. Lectures are very traditional (with chalk!). Attendance not mandatory, but it helps to get his notes. Study those and the posted quizzes/exams. Extra credit is provided towards the end of the semester!

This guy is cool. Like how he condenses chapter into only most important concepts. would take again for 102... but he doesnt teach that currently :/

One of the best professors I have ever had. Very funny, caring, and respected. I used to HATE chemistry so much but after taking his class, I actually don't hate it anymore. Professor Arias has great lectures and his exams are exactly what you would expect. Nothing crazy hard. Just what he taught you. I wish he could teach OChem at Harbor too.

He is able to teach the concepts in a way that makes it easy for anyone to understand. He is also very nice and funny. We need more professors like him in this world

TAKE HIM. I've had him for both Chem 101 and 102 and I got As both semesters. He makes lectures very fun, easy to understand, and is very understanding and caring. If you do your work and study, you will easily pass. He connects with his students very well. BEST PROFESSOR EVER. I hated Chem before his class. Even during corona, his class is great.

Dr. Arias is an amazing professor! He really cares for his students and makes class so much fun to be in! Work is standard for chemistry so just do the hw and participate and you'll do fine. Easy to access out of class and will work with you. Recommend 1000/10 and would take for the rest of my chem sequence if possible.

Avoid him for remote classes. I think he'd be wonderful in person, but taken remote during the pandemic he was frustratingly disorganized and aloof. Labs were a wast of time--he would just show us raw data from a previous semester and then we'd all do Excel sheets together. Easy grader.

Understanding, not a harsh grader. Explains very well. Stay on top of your things and you should be fine.

There r quizzes every week & homework. Every other week u submit pre- labs, & laboratory reports. Always go to class & watch all the videos he posts on canvas about the lectures. Also, he posts past quizzes so u can have an idea what kind of questions he'll ask for that week's test. Do the Hm before is due it helps when it comes to the actual quiz.

Dr. Arias is a well respected professor at LAHC. He has a good sense of humor so taking one of his classes will be fun. If you put in the work, you will get the grade you deserve. Very fair and clear grading criteria. This professor will motivate and inspire you to go after your goals. He really wants his student to succeed in life.

His lab was super fun, and he's the funniest professor ever. I miss his class already and I wish him the best. His tests are actually the hardest things in the world but if you do the homework and study ahead of time you will pass. He is very lenient with grading and his class was overall one of my favorite classes of all time.

My favorite professor ever! He is hilarious and has a talent for making students want to come to class. For those who don't go to class, good luck. I expected to hate this after the tough first weeks, but I was wrong. If you're showing respect and make an effort, he'll be kind and accommodating. Tests can be scary but the metric tons of xtracredit balances it out. At his core, he cares about his student's success. Some may not prefer this, but if you like a lighthearted prof, you'll like him.

Dr. Arias is a phenomenal professor, both in terms of lectures and in terms of caring for his students. Completely understanding about anything that you're going through and will go out of his way in order to help you. Make sure to do the HW questions as they are directly reflected in the 10 quizzes throughout the semester. Could not recommend more
