She teaches with a real passion of government. She is funny and very smart. I really loved this class. I would really recommend her to anyone. She posts the outlines to her lectures and all you have to do is print them out and fill them in. All the tests come straight from these. She also does the same with reviews for the tests! She's cool.

I took her for summer class at the NE campus, but she was great! I hate government, but she really makes it interesting. I made a B, only because I didn't go to class a few times and missed some pop quizzes. She gives you outlines and her tests are straight from there. Reviews the day before test. Great teacher and easy- just go to class.

She is an awesome teacher, does what she can to make the topic interesting (and I really have little to no interest in government!) but she jokes around alot and makes the class a little funner by doing so. Tests are easy, there's a full review over everything on the test the day before test day. Great class!

Amazing! I hate Gov and I had a blast in this class. She's hilarious and really cares what you think; whether you agree or not. I had her in the summer and really loved it. Easiest class I've ever taken. Didn't open my book once. Just show up and do the assignments and you'll Ace it.

I have never enjoyed or passed a government class until this one. She made us laugh every day and the few assignments that were a major part of our grade were not difficult or too time consuming. If you complete the review sheet from your notes and attend the review you will get an A on every test.

Ms. Johnson is great. She posts the outlines online. All you h.ave to do is print them and show up for class. If you don't go to class, you will probably miss important notes or a pop quiz. I took Johnson for GOVT 2306 and absolutely LOVED it! She opens the class for discussion on current events in government and embraces apposing viepoints and keeps an objective viepoint. She also provides printed outlines for each chapter studied that are fill in the blank for her powerpoints. EASY A and a class period that flies by

SHE'S AWESOME! her talks are always entirely interesting&never boring! you do have to study for her tests but you just have to print out notes that you have to fill in, and study everything on the review. TAKE HER!! you won't regret it!

Professor Johnson tells you exactly what will be on the test with her outlines. If you attend class everytime than you will have all the answers to the test on hand to study for. I really enjoyed this class and that surprised me! She is really good and loves teaching Texas Government. There is an outline for her notes and that is all you need to study for test. Didn't even use the textbook even though there are reading assignments. Just be at class.

She is a very interesting teacher but her class is not easy at all. It doesnt allow any room for mistakes and if you mess up on one test, you drop a letter grade.

Class is not very hard. She does grade as if it were an english class. She gives study guides and that helps alot with the tests. Not too much work, overall she is ok.

Easy class if you attend. She does expect proper english ans spelling, but it's college and you should already be doing that anyway. The test are straight from the notes (which she provides). EC is offered. The effort you put forth is reflected in your grade. I didn't stress once about this class. Great teacher and intresting lectures.

POP QUIZZES! Take her, she makes the subject interesting and is really fun. Everything is just tests and quizzes. You'll get a lot of Texas' history too. She knows her topic and likes to talk about it too, so if you're interested, have fun.

I took her in 2009 but she is awesome. Seriously. She did do quizzes randomly so you will have to attend class. She has class discussions to drive the information home and she does not bog you down with what her views are. She tells you what information you need to know for the test, you study that information, and you get an A. Take her.

Ms. Johnson is a good instructor. Only bad thing is she only gave 1 extra credit assignment and it was the last week of class and she also gave more homework than usual that week, too. Made for a tough last week of school. Tests were rather hard. Otherwise, fairly easy class.

Took Online in Summer. Intelligent, thoughtful teacher. A lot of reading and work for a short summer semester. Made an A, but worked hard for it. Tests are all online and open book, but are somewhat difficult. Read the assigned reading, and bring an open mind and an honest opinion.

Professor Johnson is seriously the coolest teacher I've had. She is hilarious and actually cares about her subject. You take notes on the study guides she gives you and if you study those then you will receive an A. Fairly easy if you show up, pay attention, and study. I didn't look at the textbook once.

Tests from lessons (PRINT THEM) and book, 80 mins, 50 questions. 4-5 chapters covered a week. Many ALL/NONE Q's, few T/F. Very time consuming, serious students only.

Joan Johnson is a great professor. She makes class interesting, but what really killed me were the tests. Half of it was Fill in the blank or straight write answer out and the rest was multiple choice. She gives one extra credit option and you also have quizzes, 12 counted for and 2 are dropped. She is helpful, but the test is deceiving.

I took her Honors class and lectures were all fill in the blank. She gives you all the material you need to pass the tests, which are multiple choice with an essay at the end. She is great during lecture, she will make sure your study guides are filled in and promotes great class discussion. I definitely recommend taking Professor Johnson.

Prof. Johnson is great, she sets up the online class and gives you all the dates and lets you do your own thing. literally the quizzes are: watch a video, take a quiz after about said video. there are a lot of sections of the book online you have to work in but it is streamlined and you can retake TONS of times even on exams. She's amazing, her outlines are clear cut , and she doesn't lie the test goes along with the outlines so just study those. We do have pop quizzes some were in class and some she posted online on blackboard but she definitely made me enjoy coming to her class and I'm not much of a government fan. Took Professor Johnson for Texas Gov during a Maymester. She makes fun of herself nonstop but she's a great professor. You actually learn a lot of useful information! Hopefully you'll never have to use it. Tests come right from the outlines she posts, with no tricks, twists, or strings attached. She's lively and kept us laughing for 4 hours a day.

Excellent class, taken in 8 week online version. Multiple chances on all online tests including the final exam. Online class required book with access, took reading quizzes over all reading material online after each section. Not a hard grader on discussion boards. Would definitely take this instructor again.

Professor Johnson is amazing! This was my first college class so it was a little tough at first, but was totally awesome. The lectures are very important, so don't miss them. But Professor Johnson pushed us to do our best and inspired me to explore a major in political science. This class is worth the effort.

ONLINE CLASS at Mountain View College. Textbook was heavily used. We had a test for each chapter (I recommend reading thoroughly, although most* answers can be found on Quizlet). Also a discussion board for each unit, 4 in total (and mandatory responses). As long as you can take notes or research answers, you should be fine. Easy extra credit.

Professor Johnson was AWESOME!! She gives a clear grading criteria and schedule day 1 of class. The online class schedule consists of 4 modules. Each module contains 3 chapters, and for each chapter you complete a focus activity, video quiz, and ch. quiz (multiple opportunities). There were also 2 DB and 4 exams. The exams were easy (2 tries).

Take this class! Gives responses to writing assignments. Weekly quizzes, 3 DB, 4 test(2 attempts, highest grade). Gives you plenty of time to submit assignments.

Took this class online and professor Joan makes her syllabus incredibly easy and clear to understand. This was a great class to take online. She communicated with her students very well and was very prompt to reply to any question I had via e-mail. One thing I wish she did was provide a STUDY guide for her quizzes and tests, especially tests...

This was my second attempt taking Govt.2306. I did so much better with a different professor like Johnson she would respond to my emails, and she was an easy grader, there is a lot of homework but you get 3 weeks to complete it and its a lot of help for when you take a test.

The class isn't easy but if you go to class and fill out the outlines that she provides for every test you will definitely get a good grade in her class. Funny teacher. A lot of notes. But the notes are pretty much the answers for the test. She has pop quizzes but they are easy if you take notes. Taking notes and studying is really how you can pass this class. She gives extra credit too.

She knows the tests and open-ended questions so front to back and it shows clearly in her lecture. I loved her class, and it was TX GOV, that speaks volumes in itself. Amazing Professor. Response back fast to emails. I printed the syllabus at the beginning of the semester and during the middle was unaware it had been updated which caused me to miss a DB. She allowed me to make it up. AWESOMENESS. Professor uses proctoring but not with webcam. Easy class if you keep track of assignements and do them on time.

I just finished taking her for my Summer 1 session and she was so amazing. Very clear instructions with an organized and structured syllabus with clear directions in emails and sends reminder emails. She went the extra mile with helping me prepare for test. The tests are proctored, however, you can use Power points, notes and flash cards. GREAT

Johnson was the best teacher I have had at TCC. She is very clear on what is expected and needed from you. As long as you listen and fill out the outlines during lecture and study those papers you will 1000000% pass. Highly recommend to take her.

Took her online class over wintermester and the test are timed(1 hr & 50 questions), do not come from the provided notes, and are proctored. All the other stuff is basic busy work, but 2 attempts are given on the test. I felt duked by RMP reviews on her long semesters reviews, but for a quick short wintermester I would NOT recommend her!

Her tests are quite challenging but she gives a lot of extra credit. She does care a lot about her students and wants the best for all of them. Just ask her for help and she will help you. There are 4 tests and 2 discussion boards.

This class is work heavy and I still made an A. Mindful Thinking is where all of the homework and quizzes are. If you keep taking the chapter pre-test then you should do well on the real test. There were 2 papers, 4 test, and homework from Mindful Thinking. She did send reminder emails. When I emailed she responded quickly. Test are 2 attempts.

She seemed to care and sent out many emails about information that she thought whod help us. Just make sure you study for all test and quizzes and you will do well.

Best professor EVER!! Gives plenty of time to complete all work without stressing out & it made a huge difference in my grade. Very caring and is always available to help her students. All assignments are manageable. If you fail, you are not trying.

I took a 4-week class and it was doable and easy but could be too much for someone. Everything was due on TH; includes a DB each week (super easy), 3 chapters each week (includes a 25Q quiz and 3 assignments (2-3Q each); 2-3 attempts), and exam for those chapters (50Q, hard, could be found online, no time limit, not proctored). Overall, I enjoyed!
