She is just as nice as her clothes, which happen to all be designer. Has Good teaching skills and does Review before tests. She's big on Webboard assignments not on homework. My suggestion to pass the class is, read, read, read those chapters and remember the definitions in them.

She teaches squat during the class period, but tells you exactly what to study for the exams, which happen to be in the same order in which they appear on the test. Easy class, however difficult to sit through.

She's a fairly nice and polite person who does her job just as she should: comes to class prepared with chapter reviews/notes and goes over the material that she'll eventually use on the tests (unlike some professors who talk an eternity and NONE of it is on the tests!) Her tests are very easy if you take all her notes down and study from them.

i heard she easy for 101 but for 102 she's a notch hardier. at first, she seems snobby but she's real cool. the study guide on the comp. website is HELPFUL, USE IT!! the only time u need the book like dat is when u readn in class. study from the guide online n the tests are a piece of cake!

Overall, her class is easy; she is obnoxious though. Only 4 tests.. KNOW THE FREAKIN DEFINITIONS..thats basically half the test.. download the online stuff.. and your set. Just watch out.. tests are easy if you study but there are always 2 trick quest.. take you from an A to a B real quick.

I found that a lot of students didn't like her teaching methods, those were the ones trying to get that easy A. It isnt easy.I respected her role as a teacher and mine as a student and we got along fine. All she asks is that students read the ch ahead if no one answers her she'll get snappy. She tells you when the test is and you show for the test.

Easy professor, but she cannot teach or should I say she doesnt teach, She presents slides for students which are directly from the book and all she does is read them and does not explain anything or go in depth. Tests are real simple because they are direct defintions from the book so all you have to do is study and youll pass her exams.

Very good course and Prof. McGowan was a pleasure!! This was an online course and she was always available to help her students by email or phone. The 4 exams were multiple choice and the APA-styled paper was based on your choice of one of the chapters covered.

The stuff on the syllabus didn't match the stuff that she provided online. This was an online class 4 multiple choice tests and a 5 page APA style paper on one of the chapters covered. She gave me 100 on the paper.She's very helpful with whatever you need.

From her syllabus she explained what was due and when it was due. It was straight forward. The test were questions right from the book, u do have to read the whole book. Overall it was an easy online course and i learned alot.

At first i didn't do so well on the first exam but after her help with outlining and note taking i scored very well on my last tests and final. She's a great Professor but a lot of the effort will have to come from the student in order to study the material.

One of my favorite teachers! She posts the exact questions that will be on the test online. All you have to do is find the answers in the book, and study them. The only other thing to worry about is a 5 page paper. However, all she checks is plagiarism. If you did not plagiarize, you get an automatic A. Very easy class. Great for lazys.

Dr McGowan definetly cares for her students. She answers to any questions you have right away. I toke her in the summer and she made the course very manageable. 4 exams, drops the lowest one, one final, one apa paper and chapter quizes that are extra credit (totally helpfull) I recommend her 100% take her, you wont regret it.

Dr. McGowan is great! I took the online version of her SOC-101 class. The entire online class is at your own pace, all the tests, chapter quizzes (do them all for extra credit), final exam, and research paper are posted as of day 1 for you to complete at your own pace. You have to read and outline the chapters for the tests, it's an absolute must!

Professor McGowan provides a clear and defined syllabus from the first day of the course. If taken online, the entire course can be completed at your own pace. If you are a dedicated and diligent student, there is no reason you cannot earn a good grade in this course, but you have to read and outline the chapters and do the work.

Anyone who has something bad to say about Dr. McGowan is clearly trying to cover up their own mistakes. She is the best professor I have had in the past two years at UCC. She gives you a clear syllabus for the entire semester and concise study guide for each test to encourage you to succeed. She is a wonderful teacher and all around good person!

She is a very simple online professor. She gives you 4 test, lowest gets drop and you a final. You also get extra credit for each chapter. To pass, the test you should really have the book and read it. She does her job, work for your grade. You get what you deserve...I like her

She is an excellent professor. She treated all the students equally. From the very fist day to the last day, I asked her hundreds of questions, she answered each of them. She helped me to learn the reading strategies, since book use is must to pass her class. Without her help, I wouldn't have survived! Her lectures and schedules are well planned.

Dr. McGowan is an outstanding example of what a college professor should be. At the start of the semester, she clearly outlines what her students need to do in order to excel in the course and she is true to her word. Regarding exams, the questions aren't designed to "trick" her students but to instead see if they made an effort to study.

This class is great and she's an awesome professor. Just be careful reading the tests online. Be sure to go over your tests after submitting. I've found a few mistakes on the online tests which could've brought my grade down. However, she's very quick to fix your grade if you bring a mistake to her attention.

Dr. McGowan is one of my favorite professors at UCC. I've taken two of her classes and will take a third one in the spring. Doing all the homework (meaning writing short papers),taking four tests and the final, taking notes (mostly from the textbook which is practically mandatory if you want to get A on open book tests!), and doing the extra credit will get you an A! Looking for an easy A? She is the professor to take. Her lectures tend to be boring when theres no discussion, but she does not count attendance so you never actually have to show up. All writing assignments never have to be more than 2 pages, and all quizzes are online and open book. Very hard to fail, but she is also extremely helpful if needed.

This teacher is a wonderful lady. I toke her course online and she always respond to me with in the day or within 24 hours. The assignments is a lot of work be if you ask she will give you clues of how to tackle the assignments you just have to keep up with the dead line of each assignment and you will be find.

Professor McGowan is very straight foward , and her assignments are fairly easy. It is impossible to fail her class and you'd literally have to miss every single assignment in order to do so. If the attendance didn't matter there's really no point in going to class. She's one of those "do work online and show up for exams" professors.

I took her class for summer II at UCC. It was a online course. Literally the easiest class online. Easy A! She makes the assignments due every Tuesday and there only discussions. There is a final exam essay. She is a easy grader and provides great feedback. Her online class was not stressful at all. Just make sure u reach the deadline.

all the assignments are posted from the beginning. Theres 3 discussions that were due in the month of september and then 1 extra credit one due in october. Four quizzes due in december but you have the semester to do them. And two essays in total, which are pretty easy and shes a lenient grader. Definitely take this class!

Professor McGowan was very nice. Assignments were already listed in syllabus with the date so you know what you have to do even before it is due. Quizzes are open book and they are open throughout the whole semester so you are able to take it whenever you are ready.

Since the beginning of the semester, Dr. McGowan gave out clear instructions in her class. The syllabus was clear and gave out important dates for each assignment, quiz, and final exam. She explain in great detail about each chapter and gave many examples throughout the lecture. She was always willing to give a hand to any of her students.

She only assigns two writing assignments and a few discussion assignments, all of which are not too difficult. She also has four quizzes on Canvas and drops the lowest of the first two. Doctor McGowan is an amazing professor. She is very clear in her lectures and answers any questions you have efficiently. She is quick at responding emails and ready to help you. Dr.McGowan made this class incredible doable! Participation matters but it's school so that's obvious. Discussions weren't difficult, all you have to do is read (again its school so that's obvious) and put effort into your assignments. I would 100% take this course again, and would definitely do in person so I could meet this incredible professor!
