Best teacher ever
Excellent teacher
Makes math fun. Great personality, and makes sure everyone understands what she is teaching. Best math professor EVER! Wish there were more like her!
The most helpful prof I've ever had
amazing teacher. alot of fun and very helpful. lots of fun.
i hated math before this class, and i sucked at it. she not only explained everything clearly and was always available to help, but she obviously loved math and used her wit and sarcasm to make the three hour class enjoyable for everyone else too. and i actually got an A, only thanks to her.
Excellent teacher!
She was definitely the best teacher I have had. I loved going to calc class, and I loved coming back and doing my homework. By far one of the most dedicated professors I have seen and will do anything to help you learn the material.

Rosi is a wpnderful teacher. I strongly recommend her for Calc 1 and 2. SHe will hepl anytime, and actually cares about how you are doing in class and otherwise. If you just need to sit and chat, she's a great listener too.
I took her online class this summer. Didn't do so hot, but she was always willing to help. If you suck at math, she is the teacher to have since she goes out of her way to help kids.
Highly recommended for any math class. She's excellent professor, little on the crazy side. Expect a quiz at least once a week, she drops lowest 2. Tests are ok, if you do hw, u'll do fine. Little bit harsh on the grading but explains really well. Excellent sound effects lol
Rosi is hysterical. She is really motivating and you get to the point where you feel guilty if you miss her class or bomb a test. Don't fall behind and miss too many quizzes. Tests are not too difficult.
ROSI IS AMAZING!! Best math teacher i have ever had!! She is funny, nice and just cares about her students in general. ROSI ROCKS YOUR SOCKS OFF!
If it weren't for Rosi, I don't even know what I'd be doing right now. Not only is she amazing clear, helpful, and hilarious in class, she's even better outside of class. She's willing to help you with ANYTHING, not just math. Rosi is what other teachers should aspire to be.
Awesome teacher, willing to help students with anything, extra help with HW, study habits, other classes, what classes you should take. Just about anything she can help with, she will.
ROSI, is my girl. She helps me so much, even with classes that aren't related to math. She's willing to meet with you whenever she can, just show up everyday on time and do your work and she'll watch out for you!
amazing teacher
it takes a week to do something that should be done in one class
Rosi is amazing. She helps you with everything!! And she wears awesome shoes everyday. You can't but help pay attention because she's always joking and surprisingingly making math interesting. Your loss if you don't take her!
One of the best teachers I've ever had, and lots of fun, too!
Rosi is AWESOME!
Do anything you can to get into her class! She's hilarious, awesome, and will do anything she can to help you. Definitely the best professor I've had at UVM, and definitely worth signing up for an 8 am class because you'll actually learn. I wish she taught higher-level math classes...
Take a class with Rosi because she is amazing! If you go to class and do the homework, then you will probably do well. Her tests are completely fair and she teaches at a slower pace which helps people to really understand the material. She is hysterical and I wish that she taught higher level math classes.
ROSI is amazing. Like what an awesome person! She really cares for her students and will help you out with anything!! Totally take a math class with her! You'll have such a great understanding of the material at the end!!
Best teacher i have ever had
So helpful she became my advisor. She is sweet and kind, a little spacy, but it only adds to her character.
AMAZING professor! The best I've had at UVM! Very clear examples, everything is step-by-step, attendance isn't mandatory, but if you show up on time to every class you only have to take 1/2 of the final (you choose the questions). Take the 8am if you must, it's worth it! Never a dull moment in the class!
Rosi is hand's down the best teacher I have ever had. Beyond being able to clearly communicate calculus to a class, Rosi will help you out of class time to really learn the material and end up knowing the material solidly. She even helped me with MATH 271 Differential Equations!!!
You will not find a better teacher at UVM. Rosi will go out of her way (she's in her office on weekends) to help you do well. As long as you apply yourself and make the effort, Rosi will find a way for you to understand the material. She is truly an amazing person.
SHE IS INCREDIBLE!!! She's always available to help and she loves her students and her job.
Awesome.
She's great.
Best math professor I've ever had. Best advisor too. If you have a chance to take a class with her try your hardest...if there isnt room in the class go and see her and she will make room.
One of the best teachers i have ever had. Grading is a little harsh though. Every question is out of 3 points so it is very easy to get low grades on quizzes and tests. If you don't understand something you can see her after class.
hands down the best teacher i've ever had. she will email you just to say hi! grading is hard but if you go to class and do the hw its fine. i've never had a teacher that cared so much.
ROSI is an amazing person! She has turned into my advisor and friend and wished me a happy birthday on facebook! She isn't only the best teacher in the world but probably one of the nicest people you will ever meet!
She makes the difficult things seem easy but if you let that go to your head and stop studying your grades will surely drop
Best professor I've had at UVM
Extremely helpful. Took the class over the summer and did really well. Content for this class was SO EASY. Professor was engaged and available for any extra help needed. Highly recommended.
What an amazing teacher. Rosi makes impossible things seem easy by explaining! Best teacher I have had so far!
Rosi is by far the sweetest teacher i have ever had. She took Calc 3 and turned it into a cake walk. She teaches everything in the book, but will never make u chase to catch up. Just an outstanding teacher. Highly Highly Highly Recommended. Ps. tests and quizes are the only grade. EASY!
I just love her so much, so good at simplifying something hard to understand. If you get a chance, take her class!! Her quizzes and tests are everything she puts on her study guides!
Easily one of the best professors at this school.
She is a wonderful teacher for annoying math classes! She actually made calculus fun and has a great personality for class. I absolutely loved her and would definitely take another class of hers. Very helpful, barely checks homeworks, and practically forces you to pass.
Great professor!! The class is super easy, good for those who do not do well with math but need to take calculus.
Rosi is the best. Had her for Math 20 and as my adviser. She's always looking out for whats best for her students. Class isn't mandatory, but going everyday helps to get on her good side ;)
Rosi rocks! Do what ever you must to take a math course with her!
Tough, but good
Joan Rosebush or 'Rosi' is a fun teacher that doesn't let you get bored in class. She goes slow enough to help you along if you aren't strong in math, but keeps the class moving fast enough so you don't get bored. She's also extremely open to help you outside class if you need it, but she is often not available due to high demand.
I had Rosi a year ago for Calc 21. By far the best professor ive had in my 2 years at UVM. She loves to teach and loves her students. She was also my adviser! always willing to help and meet out of class. Rosi makes math both fun and easy. If you have to take a Math course, take one with her. I have NEVER heard of someone not liking her! Sign Up!
Rosi is AMAZING! Show up for class; she truly cares about you and wants you to succeed. By far one of the most dedicated and compassionate teachers I have ever met - who knews I'd find a teacher like that in the math dept!!
She is a fantastic teacher, I had calc every day at 8:30 am and if it wasn't for Rosi I would have never gone. She is my favorite teacher at UVM and when I went to ask her a question she became my advisor. Her classes have 200 people waiting lists, she is that good.
I wish I could take every math class with Rosie. She is the sweetest woman alive. Genuinely loves what she does and cares about the students. Class is extremely fair, and she is more than willing to help anyone who needs it. Anyone who gets the chance should take her class!
I was nervous for calculus in college because the highest math I took prior was pre-calc. Rosi will lead you every step of the way. You dont really use the book which is great! Shes always excited to be in class and is extremely goofy (in a good way). Favorite class and professor!!!
I wish I could take Rosi's classes over and over and over and over again. Completely sublime, hilarious, just awesome. If every professor was like Rosi, the world would be a better place. Take any of her classes and you will learn a ton and not regret a moment.
Far and away the best math teacher I've ever had. Always explains everything clearly and completely. Never any surprise "apply your knowledge" problems on important tests. She is there from dawn till late at night every day always willing to meet with students whether or not they're in her class.
she saved my life. absolutely the best math teacher at uvm. Hw is reasonable and not done online. you learn through a lot of examples. she's awesome
Amazing doesn't even describe her. She cares about what she is teaching and how well you understand it. She honestly wants to see you do well and if you put in the time and effort, you'll do great. Also, she is extremely knowledgeable about everything at UVM. Highly recommend her.
rosi is a great teacher. i recommend her.
Rosi is the best. She cares about her students like no one else. She sometimes stays until midnight helping students with math and with advising. She's a great teacher and explains everything very well. You definitely learn a lot though and the class can be tough but she always wants to see you do well and she'll help with your grade when she can.
Rosi is one of the best individuals I have ever met in my life. Not only is she extremely passionate about her job, she is also extremely passionate about helping students. I swear this woman doesn't sleep because she is always in her office helping someone. She is the best professor I've ever had and I strongly recommend taking her class.
One of the most caring and helpful people I've met. It was a privilege to take her class. She'll work with each student to make sure everyone is successful and she monitors the class to make sure she's not moving too fast or slow. Every teacher could learn something from her methods! Go out of your way to take her classes.
Easily the most caring and helpful person at UVM. She would do anything to see her students succeed. She genuinely cares about all of her students and works non-stop for them. She is perfect.
Rosi is the best math teacher I've ever had. I took AP calc in high school and thought I would be bored to tears having to take it again ( I didn't do that well). Rosi explained everything super clearly and really wants you to succeed. I feel like I really know calculus after taking this class.
Very funny, very nice, very helpful. Did NOT use Mathematica at all in her fall Calc II class, which put me at a bit of a disadvantage. Rumor also has it she goes much slower than other Calc teachers, which could be why the class seemed (mostly) easy...
Rosi is great. She's very straightforward when giving notes and grades fairly. Participation is very important because she likes to get to know her students and will help you understand if your lost.
Professor Rosi is one of my favorites by far, she really cares for all of her students and respects the ones that show up to class. She is willing to help any student who is working hard in her class and is a great person all around!
Rosi, as many of her students know well, has to be one of the most heartfelt teachers at UVM. She is there for all her students and honestly makes calc. more interesting then you could imagine. I had her for calc I and calc II and it was the best decision i have made. I would highly recommend her she is funny&makes you want to show up! loved Rosi!
Rosi is the nice woman you will ever meet! She is there at any hour to help. The one down side is her tests are hard.
Rosi is a great math teacher! So far the best that i have ever had. She always makes time to meet with you.
One of the best math teachers I've ever had, and one of my favorite teachers so far at UVM. She is very helpful, even in big classes (100+) she is quick to respond to emails and is ALWAYS willing to help a student in need. Prior to an exam she gives you (average of 10-20) example problems with answers of questions almost identical to the exam Q's.
Even though Rosi's class was a large lecture, it seemed to me that she gave everyone attention like it was a small classroom. She is very funny and extremely helpful. Very fast responses via email and is reasonable with online issues if you have MyMathLab. If you don't like her, you're in a tiny minority.
Rosi is my favorite professor at UVM by leaps and bounds. She has been recommended to me by professors and students. She is very fair and always willing to help. Her class is fun at 8:30 am and she was always kind. Rosi is a true gem- everyone at UVM should take at least one class with her.
Rosi is hands down the best math professor in the world. Not to mention that she makes a subject as boring as math interesting.
THE BEST PROFESSOR AT UVM. Stays till 11 or 12pm almost everyday of the week helping students. Pay attention in class and do some homework practice and calc will be a breeze. One of the most caring and amazing people you will meet at UVM!!!!
Rosi is fantastic. Plenty of chances to boost your grade, and was very lenient about what was due. If you take it in a large lecture hall, be ready for her to do pop quizzes for certain people in the class. That said, they were extremely easy. If you ask for help, she will give it.
Shes great
Rosi truly cares about her students. If you need help, she is so easy to get into contact with. She will stay on campus until midnight just to help students. She is very straightforward and will never give you a problem on an exam that you haven't seen before. Awesome professor. I've never had such a positive experience in a math class.
My favorite professor of the semester! She is clear, helpful and very honest. If you come into class and show her you want to work then she will make sure you get everything you need out of class. On top of that she makes class enjoyable. If you ask her to give more examples, she will. Afraid of math, take her class and you won't be after that
Enjoyed the course and the professor. It is up to you to turn in all quizzes on time, no matter if there are reminders in class about them or not. There is no credit for late quizzes because the answers are posted. We had one quiz that many students did not see on the syllabus and so got 0's.
Great teacher, really funny. She assigns homework but I never do it because it's not mandatory. There are pop quizzes occasionally but she lets you know of this the first day of class. Don't skip class without emailing her ahead of time!!
She's honestly the best. You won't mind having to go to class at all!
Best prof ever
She is so nice for everybody, We are enjoy to take her class.
Rosi has got to be one of the greatest Professors in America let alone UVM. She is kind, she is understanding, and she keeps class interesting. She goes over homework problems the day after in class (although homeworks are optional) and you can literally see her scanning the class for a confused face before she moves on. Need to take Calc22? Rosi!
Pretty nice lady, funny and engaging. A little weird but in a good way. Her style of teaching is pretty much lecture but she's really good at explaining things fully so you don't mind the lecturing. She's nice about extra help too. No need to spend money on the textbook though
Rosi is an amazing professor, just be prepared for your final that is worth 50% of your grade, mess that up and your screwed, kill it and you're golden
ROSI IS THE MOST AMAZING TEACHER EVER! I am no longer in her class anymore but I still go to her for extra help in calc. Great human being, we need more people like her! She is always willing to help and never belittles you or makes you feel stupid. Her pop quizzes were weekly, but they were a good grade booster. AMAZING CLASS
I adore Rosi. She is an absolute sweetheart and quick as a whip. You'll never be bored, and even if you used to hate calculus, those days are over. Best math teacher I've ever had.
Rosi rocks. She kind of drove me crazy in the beginning of the semester, but she quickly warms up to you and you realize how awesome she is. She is very responsive to how her students are feeling on a concept and is an amazing lecturer.
Rosi is an amazing teacher, pay attention to more than your phone and you might realize this! Can't say that I wasn't guilty of this at some points, but she really wants everyone to do well and understand the material. Study for the tests, take notes and ask Rosi for help anytime! Spend the extra time to introduce yourself, you'll do better.
She's without a doubt the best teacher I've ever had. She has the perfect mix of personality, pedagogy, and professionalism. She goes above and beyond to help out her students and advisees. I'm almost positive she's an alien from another planet sent here to make sure humanity stays on track with Calculus.
Rosi is the reason why I love math. She is the kind of teacher that will make you excited about going to her classes. The homework is a great way to reinforce the material and study for exams. The tests are straight forward, no tricks. Rosi wants her students to exceed and nail the material Go in to talk with her and ask clarifying questions.
Rosi was a wonderful choice for a teacher to have my first semester of college. She really goes above and beyond for her students if they simply put in an effort. I would highly recommend her but work fast because her classes fill up fast (for a good reason).
I love Rosie! She is by far my best teacher. She interacts with every student on a personal level and I love it. I went in knowing no Calculus previously and now I have a strong connection with it. I highly recommend her as a professor and to get to know her cause she is amazing! :)
I had Rosi for my first semester freshman year and she was AMAZING. This women honestly cares so much about her students and is such a good teacher. She makes time for you if you don't understand and she is always there if you have questions not only about math. Would definitely recommend even if you are really good at math.
Great teacher. She truly cares about her students and will go above and beyond for them. She goes kind of fast sometimes but go to her office hours and you're set. The tests are always easy and straight forward so if you know the materials well you will do fine.
I had Rosi last semester in MATH 019 and I have her this semester in MATH 023 and I have to say, she is the only math instructor that has ever made learning math fun for me. She constantly jokes and makes lecture fun. If you have the opportunity to take a class with Rosi, do it!
If you are lucky enough to have the chance to take Rosi for ANY math class don't even think twice and do it! She will easily make math your new favorite class even if you hate it going in.
Rosi is fantastic! She is a very friendly, kind and smart woman and cares deeply about her students. Pop quizzes are tricky sometimes but she really wants you to do well!
Rosi is the most engaging calculus professor I've had. I took AP Calc AB before her class, but she breaks everything down wonderfully and doesn't expect you to solve massive challenge problems for fun. Her quizzes and exams are simple and straightforward. She listens to her students, is flexible, and has a fantastic sense of humor.
I absolutely love Rosi I had the hardest time in calc in high school and somehow it all made perfect sense in her class.
I love Rosi!! Such an amazing teacher, and willing to help you if you don't understand. Pay attention in class and you'll do well.
Rosie is the best teacher I've ever had. She really cares about all of her students and advises them in and out of the classroom on how to improve your college experience educationally and personally. Will always go out of her way to help you.
Rosi is truly the best teacher I've ever had. She's caring, experienced, respectful, organized & so much more. I was nervous about having 8:30s every morning but I genuinely enjoyed going to this class & actually hated missing it. Rosi is single handedly the reason I'm a math minor & I am SO sad I won't have her again. She is the greatest. 100/10.
Rosie is by far my favorite professor so far, because she cares about not only your success in her class, but your success at UVM in general. She loves challenging the class w/ "page turners," and will never give anything on a test/pop-quiz that hasn't been seen. Pay attention in class & you will do great! Also, be prepared for her witty humor!
Rosi is the best teacher I've had in my entire education. She is funny, personable and a great teacher. She goes through problems slowly and leaves nobody behind. She responds to all emails timely and will always work hard to accommodate everybody.
Rosi is my favorite professor. She's a "fruitcake" as she calls herself, but she's so caring. If you show to her that you want to learn, she will help you in return. She really gets a feel for who each of her students are and gives great advice. She made math fun and easy. There was never a trick question on tests and she wants everyone to pass.
Rosi is the best teacher I have ever had. She is amazing and cares so much about every one of her students. She will help anyone who needs it and will always do everything she can to get you caught up if you fall behind. If you put in a bit of work and show up for class it should be fairly easy. Absolutely recommend taking her class.
Rosi is the best teacher I've ever had. She really cares. I rarely did any of the HW because she goes over it during the next class anyway.
She's a really great person, but when it comes to teaching she goes way too slow. If you won't need calculus then it doesn't really matter and it's nice for an easy class, but if calculus matters for your major then you'll miss important concepts and practice. She really cares, but she ends up making the class too easy and not enlightening.
Rosi is really good at explaining the material. If you go to class, you'll learn everything there. The homework is optional, and I didn't do any of it. I studied only before tests. Pop quizzes will get ya. You're grade isn't completely determined by math knowledge, for example, she'll give extra credit for showing up to class.
Really great teacher, really funny, lots of pop quizzes so if you don't go to class, your grade will suffer. Easy course overall, very smart lady and knows what she is doing.
ROSI IS A TREASURE. THAT IS ALL.
Loved Rosi. Best professor Ive ever had. Shes kind, caring, funny and knows what shes doing. If you ever have the chance to take one of her classes dont pass it up.
Rosebush is without a doubt the best professor I've ever had. She is hysterical in my opinion and just doesn't care what anyone thinks of her. Not only that, but she teaches math in such a way that nobody is confused. She will answer any question from anyone mid-lecture, and will make sure you get the help you need. She is the best!
Rosi is literally my favorite professor I have ever had. She is SO funny and one of the most caring teachers you will have. She goes over math problems thoroughly and makes sure everyone understands. Rosi is a national treasure. Her students love her dearly. Try to think of one thing bad about her. you can't. she does throw pop quizzes at you tho.
Rosie is a great lady and a good enough teacher. She teaches everything well but don't expect to spend much time defining new concepts. The way that she teaches is to give a lot of example problems. It works fine as you can make her explain it more theoretically if you so desire. She makes class fun, which is rare in math teachers
Rosi is such an amazing professor! She really wants you to do well and is there for you whenever you need (she is in her office all the time) and is super nice. Since this is Calc 1 and 2 in one semester, it definitely is tough and a lot of work so definitely come to class. Attendance is optional but she does take notice who comes regularly.
Joan Rosebush is respected widely at uvm and is not a mean person. However this does not mean that she will help you gain an understanding or skill with math. She teaches her class in a way that spoon feeds you the material with little to no understanding required or expected. I believe people like her for the lack of required thinking.
Rosie truly is a gem at UVM. She cares so much about her students. If your not learning something in class all you have to do is go talk to her and she'll do a great job explaining things in more then 1 way.
Rosi is a legend! Shes incredibly kind and hilarious. Her lectures a simple but a bit disorganized, and shes loves when people ask questions. She gives out bonus if you answer questions correctly. Shes definitely the best Calc 1 professor that you could get. Shes super accessible during office hours and loves to see people asking for help.
I absolutely loved being a member of Rosi's class. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met and one of my favorite teachers ever. It is required to attend lectures, but I would never have wanted to miss a lecture unless I had to because Rosi tries to make sure that every student succeeds and also has a great sense of humor. Recommended!
I took one class with Rosi my freshman year, and it was clear she cared. A year later I had a mental health crisis and even though she's not my teacher anymore she was the first person I thought to go to. She was busy but when she saw my face, she pulled me into a hug and made room in her schedule so I wouldn't feel alone. Believe me, she cares.
Rosi is an angel. I feel like I worked for the grade that I got and that every thing she did was fair. If you need to take some math there is no better professor to weather that storm with. Rosi is phenomenal. I cannot speak highly enough of her
Rosi is an amazing teacher!! My class met 5 days a week at 8:30 which sounds really rough but she made it easy for us. Her lectures are sometimes all over the place but she explains things well and it is clear what to expect on quizzes and exams. She is super caring and one of my fav people! highly recommend
Rosie cares so much about her students.
Honestly top 3 professors at UVM. Amazing human, friendly, down to earth, funny. approachable. Fair professor and grader. Gives great lectures. Regardless of my grade, class is objectively a hard (still fair and achievable!) you gonna need to study. Math023 is monday-->friday 8:30am class BUT I promise you professor Rosi makes it worth it. take it
This is a great professor who genuinely cares about her students. The work load is manageable and you will succeed as long as you put in the effort.
This professor is the best professor I've ever had in my life. She is the real one.
Rosie is by far the best professor I've ever had; and definitely one of the best people I have ever met. She cares about her students SO MUCH and is a phenomenal lecturer. i LOVE her Anyone who has anything poor to say about her honestly just didn't try in her class
Rosie was the best professor I had at UVM. I took several calculus classes with her, and I liked her so much that I had her become my advisor. Her classes fill up quickly, so be sure to register for a coveted spot as soon as possible.
She's super caring of how you are doing and if you are truly understanding what she is teaching. One of the best math teachers I've ever had, she really loves teaching and it shows.
Rosi is about all you could ever hope for in a professor and I think other instructors would stand to gain from dropping in and observing one of her classes. Material itself is not always easy but there is no one else I'd rather have to teach it to me. Go out of your way to take one of her classes.
Prof Rosie is the bomb. Hard class and a hard teacher, but man she makes it as good as it could be. She care so deeply about every student. There is a reason every one who has taken her class has fantastic things to say.
I've always hated math (and been terrible at it). Professor Rosebush was caring, helped her students, and didn't give us too hard of a time. She's practically always available and grades properly. As well as being the best math teacher I've ever had. I feel as though I really learned Calc 1 without being too overworked or confused.
If math is not your subject, take this class with Rosi. She goes very slow, encourages participation and will answer the dumbest possible question you can think of with zero judgement. I can tell she really cares about her students' understanding. I would take every math class with Rosi if I could.
great teacher, but this class was horrible. seriously take regular calc 2 if you can, because this wrecked my GPA. so many pop quizzes with one question
about 20 pop quizzes that make up 45% of your grade!!!! the worst thing is you just can't beat her 3 point grading system. even if you get every step right but forget to simplify your answer at the end, you'll get 2/3 or 67%. so on a pop quiz with one question on it, you just got a D+... and this happens over and over. avoid if you can.
Rosi is an amazing professor. She cares so so deeply for her students learning and well being. One of her passions is having math be accessible to everyone and not anxiety provoking, which comes through clearly when you take a class with her. A true true gem of UVM. Extremely receptive to helping you with whatever you want to get out of the class
She is very clear and step by step. But you can't miss even a simple arithmetic mistake because her partial credit is unforgiving. If you get more than two things wrong on any quiz or test you're getting a B. Other than that, she's a wonderful person who loves to teach math and is easy to understand. Loved her classes.
Rosi is the best lecturer you could ever hope for, she will answer any questions you may have. She is very available outside class time, and will give ALL the help you need to pass the class. She genuinely cares about teaching and her students. You want to take her classes.
If you don't like math, take Rosi's class. As someone who likes math, and learns best when concepts are demonstrated, Rosi's teaching style did not work well for me. I found her grading harsh and somewhat arbitrary. That being said, she is an extremely nice and caring person, and will always make time to meet outside of class.
Rosi is a great professor! She really cares about all students, whether she has them in her class or not. She always makes time to meet for office hours, even if it is at 9 pm on teams. As a class we voted on when we would have a test. Rosi's teaching style is different than most, but overall I think she is a great professor and I learned a lot!
Rosi was by far the best professor I've had at UVM. She was extremely accessible outside of class and always made sure that everyone understood the content she presented. She made Calc 3 feel easy.
Yeah, all the superlatives are true, Rosie is the greatest to ever do it. If she ever gets cancelled I'm going on a hunger strike
I loved having Rosi as a professor, and am planning on taking another class with her. While she often doesn't get into explaining why formulas work the way they do, I liked her clear-cut teaching style. She really cares about her students, personally and academically, and will always find time to meet with you (even late at night!). Would recommend
While she is incredible at breaking down example problems and clarifying computational methods, she does not do too much else. We would spend at least half the time in each class solving homework problems from the night before. With the little remaining time, she would gloss over new concepts and get right into new examples. Not enough learning.
I love Rosi! She's energetic, passionate about what she teaches and she's really funny. She cares about her students so much too. For each exam, she would make a practice test to complete (which helped me a ton) and she is also available often to answer questions. If you need to take math, I would 110% recommend taking it with her!
Rosi is the best professor I have ever had. I have taken calc21, calc22, calc121, and math271 with her. She truly cares that the students succeed, and will answer any question. Her classes go over a lot of example problems which I liked, and she will make time for anyone who ever needs help. She is the best, I cannot recommend her enough.
Trying to explain to people how awful math 023 was is a test of my sanity- Rosie has a great reputation and it's hard to believe she'd teach a class the way she taught mine. So nobody believes you! But anyone else who's taken math023 knows. This class felt like the academic version of squid games because so many of my classmates flunked out. Avoid.
Very kind and caring about my difficulties in class. I do not understand why some students seem to take issue with her teaching. I think their frustrations with themselves are being projected on this professor.
Rosi is an amazing lecturer, fair grader and test giver, and is an absolute joy to have as a professor. I had her for Calculus 1, 3, and Differential Equations, and every time she has taught the material well. She is also hilarious and a real unique character.
Rosi is a goat, she really wants everyone to succeed. She comes into class with high energy everyday. If you stand out to her, don't be afraid to get picked on.
Rosi is the best professor at UVM. This class was a lot (every day at 8:30...) but Rosi made it bearable. She is so willing to help her students, and its been two years since I took the class and I still come to her for help. Couldn't have asked for a better professor.
I did not learn a single thing in this class. Her teaching style was "whatever I feel like today", so learned new concepts without learning the ones that built up to them. She taught derivatives and integrals without explaining what they were or even showing us a graph. We worked through example problems without having ever been given a formula.
There'll be quizzes when youre not ready for them, but she's nice, understanding. She'll answer any question you ave regardless of how dumb the question is. She really cares a lot about her students and wants them to succeed. Can talk to her about anything. Not a clear course schedule so you can't easily plan which days to not go to class.
Rosie is easily the best professor at UVM. I flunked out of Calc 2, and I found out I could take Transitional Calc in the spring. I was terrified of the content and work required and the fact that it was 5 credits and met 5 days a week at 8:30. But Rosie helped me conquer my fears and I felt for once in my life that I was able to understand math.
Rosi is an energetic and passionate math professor who genuinely cares about her students. While her teaching style may not work for everyone, she offers plenty of support through practice tests and office hours. unstuck ai was a helpful study tool alongside the textbook.
Rosi is hands down the best professor at this university. Calculus has been my favorite subject so far at this school and I have Rosi's Calc I + II to thank for that. She makes difficult concepts easy to understand and is on campus 7 days a week to ensure she's available if you need help from her!
PHENOMENAL. If you have the chance to take a class with Rosi, do it. She goes above and beyond for every student and truly cares. She meets with students late nights and weekends, loves what she does, and makes it fun. Do the hw, ask questions, take advantage of office hours, and you'll do great and enjoy it!
Rosi is an incredibly thoughtful and hardworking prof but her lectures can become a bit boring. She also doesn't really go into why something works, but instead will just give your the formula and say it does. Personally that's more confusing for me when we begin to apply the concepts but most people love her. Will meet for office hours at any time
Guys take this class. No homework. Attendance isn't mandatory but definitely show up since it is rewarded. As long as you go to class, you will do well. She is super kind and accommodating. She cares about her students and puts in a lot of time to make sure you understand. The class is not super organized so if that bothers you don't take it.
I absolutely loved Rosi! I was a little concerned with the lack of structure coming into this course, but she was never challenging. No homework, and attendance isn't mandatory (but definitely encouraged, it's rewarded)!
Rosi is great. I found the class quite difficult but she's super supportive and helped me through it. She's a good lecturer. Pop quizzes often several times a week but if you do the (ungraded) homework you should be fine.
If you have the option to take a class with her, do it. She is such a good prof. Her class feels like an elementary school class, but in a good way, if that makes sense. She cares about her students and wants everyone to succeed. She is also very funny. I look forward to her class.
Super easy class that I'm not sure she is even teaching again... tests are exactly like the practice tests so if you study those at all you will be fine. No homework. Very nice to students and learns everyones names. Should go to lecture though because in my opinion the way she explains things is much simpler and clearer than the textbook.
Rosi is the best person in the world. She is so kind, caring, smart, funny, I could go on. She cares so deeply for every single student and pushes them to success. Her classes are hard and she will not be a lenient grader, but she will provide you with everything you need to succeed, and it's up to you to utilize that. She is simply amazing.
This lady is killing me she's a lovely lovely person but pop-quizzes more than once a week and impossible grading standards. I somehow feel I fully understand the content by the end of it which shows her skill as a teacher, but my grade is horrible from tests. I study 14 hours a week but her teaching style is fast and can be hard to follow.
LOVE ROSI! Had her first semester of college for Numbers for Naturalists and loved her. Content is easy and she gives extra credit just for coming to class. Gives fun assignments and projects. As long as you come to class and talk to her you should pass with an A+. She is really caring of her students and available for help.
Rosi is a nice person but a merciless grader. No note sheets so this course required a lot of memorization. I would not expect any of her courses to be easy.
really really nice, but the harshest grader ever. on quizzes (which were given 3 times a week unannounced) you can only get a 100, 67, or 33. really bites you in the bum. not the clearest grading criteria either. this class in general was super unorganized. she came to class without a plan and just did what she wanted. cannot recommend less.
Really does care about the students. Always willing to work with you outside of office hours, wither that is 15 min or an hour. She assigns hw that is ungraded but recommended bc the pop quizzes/ weekly quizzes. If you understand the quizzes/ hw you will ace the exams (no note sheets). Grading is harsh 3 points per Q. One mistake -1 point.
i would really recommend not taking this class. early everyday, pop quizzes sometimes 3x/week, which your grade is either going to be 100, 67, or 33, no in between. rosie is nice and you can go to her for anything, but i disliked how the class was set up. we'd walk into class with no real direction, she just taught whatever she felt like that day.
Rosie is honestly my favorite professor I have met at UVM. It's so clear how much she cares about her students. She offers extra-credit to students just for showing up sometimes. She is always willing to go over a concept if you're lost and is willing to give you partial-credit if you just mess up one part of the equation. I adore her.
Fantastic professor, always willing to help outside of class.
I wasn't a huge fan of Rosi's class, compared to the other math professors she had so much less emphasis on the actual reasoning or purpose behind what we were doing in Dif Eq and she was kind of harsh, she made at least one person cry from making them feel stupid for asking a question and we didn't get any note sheet for the exams.
Rosi is caring, but I would never take her class again. She gives pop-quizzes at random times, about 17 over the course of the semester. She makes you do everything by hand, like simplifying crazy square roots, and doesn't make the math nice. Her final exam is cumulative with no cheat sheet, unlike every other calc profs. Really hard to get an A.
Always willing to help you with issues (whether that be material or figuring out your schedule). Takes time to ensure everyone is good to go before the next problem. Cares about your wellbeing and it fun to joke around with. Only tested us on material we knew the best!
