She's got the attitude, but because she takes the class very seriously. She demands the work, but also she helps a lot, and answers the questions. If you want to know accounting, she is the professor to take.

Very accomplished in life. Extremely stern and strict during the class. But, VERY helpful if you ask, VERY cool outside of the classroom and during the breaks. Hang out with her when she goes out for a smoke during the breaks.

She is a very helpful lady and if you keep up with the work, you will learn a lot. She tells you exactly what is going to be on the exam to the detail so you know what to expect. There are no surprises in the class and extremely reasonable.

Best teacher one can have. She's not there to have fun! She is very clear, and only moves on when she feels everybody got the material. If you wanna learn acc. or even pass with a good grade, She is the WAY to GO!!

She is very nice, but very tough, so be prepared to do lots of work. However, her tests are not that difficult and she pretty fair grader. A bit mean though, be nice to her :)

I thought prof. Tannen was a wonderful professor I took the class in the summer and even with all the rushing she did a wonderful job teaching the class she is tough but fair this is NOT an easy A if you are lazy, do the work and it will be an easy A.

Don't take this class in the summer. It's way too fast and crammed up. She does 1 chapter in 1 day. But she is a good teacher. Take her in the fall/spring.

Professor Tannen is a drill sargent, but she knows her stuff. I like the fact that she doesn't put up with the wiseguys and smart asses. I'm terrible with numbers and before i took the class i was expecting to get at best a C. I walk out with an A and i actually understand the material. Take her.

best acc2101 professor in baruch. She is tough on you but you learn the material better that way. If you wanna learn the intro of accounting and you plan to major in it, take her. If you wanna sleep and slack off, avoid her. I wish all my accounting professors taught like she does.

At first this professor made herself seem so strict and mean. I did all her assignments b/c i was scared that she is going yell at me. She explains the hard concept better than any professors here. If you just pay attention in class and do the work this class would be easy. Just ignore her shouting!

She is not as bad as people say. She really cares for her students & wants all to learn. Do all your homework & you won't get less than a B+. It's a hard class & from other professors she is the best! Quizes as homework.

She can be mean, but at the end of the class she becomes all warm and mushy.And this woman CAN teach believe that, when she says if you do all your homework "you're homefree" she really means it! Wonderful professor, take her =)

She knows how to explain, but that's an easy class compared to intermediate and advanced. Once I got 83 on the midterm. According to her it wasn't good enough. She said u can't be an accountant if u don't get straight 90's up. I did become an accountant Tannen. She ignored students when they asked questions and that made me feel bad. Very sarcastic

As long as you read the book, do the homework and attend class, you'll get nothing lower than a B+, unless you're just plain dumb. She was tough on us, but it helped me walk out with an A.

Look, most important read the book, do your home work. Practice and practice and practice doing the problems and you will be fine. Makes sure you understand the material which is hard. Overall, I liked her class, gives good explanations of hard concepts but accounting itself is a hard class. Just read the book and do hw BEFORE coming to class!!!

you have to WORK for a good grade from tannen. and she's kinda mean, but she is the best professor for you to take in this section. once you learn basic accounting from tannen, youre pretty much set for your upper courses. she's THAT good.

Shes a great professor. She makes you do the hw by scaring you but that gets you really prepped for the exams and ur other acc classes. She knows her stuff and you learn alot. Don't be intimidated by her because all she really wants is for you to do well. The exams are easy and she is very nice with the grades...She really does have a heart.

Yes this professor is crazy and hard, however if you do all your work you will get a good grade and might actually like accounting. Must study, quizes once in a while, final was harder then midterms P.S if u do take her dont try to do anything extra fancy for the projects just do as she asked

Can be mean at times, but the bottom line is she is a very fair grader, and gives you every opportunity to pull your grade up. Projects/Homeworks/Quizzes are complete jokes and she doesn't give less than a 60 on them, even if you hand it in blank.

ACC2101 is tricky, and while she may scream, she screams at the lazy students who ask questions without putting forth any effort. She gives smaller quizes instead of tests, each one being on 2 chapters, which is a HUGE help. She really communicates the material very well. If you know how to do your work, you'll like her, if your lazy, you won't.

This professor is one of the first women to work at one of the top accounting firms (Ernst). She not only teaches you about accounting but teaches you about current events, job search, and life. She is tough and very straightforward. If you are a lazy student and expect to breeze through this course then it is not for you. Great professor.

cntd* Nice of her to break all chapters into 5 quizzes. Do all wiley hw, read all chs ontime, don't fall behind. Class w/ her is what you make it, she was very understanding when I spoke with her in person. Final was a bit harder than the other quizzes, but she really was generous w/the grade she gives if she sees ur serious and hardworking.

read the txtbk, do the hw, you pretty much get everything. BUT she explains the last 3 chapts better than the bk. breaking the bk up into 5/6 quizzes was very helpful. final was the last 3 chs. pretty easy grader. mean- kept the class quiet but geez.. then she would freak when few ppl participated. reason-she scares ppl

First woman to work at E&Y, so she can be as arrogant as she wants. Don't take her unless you plan to major in accounting. Otherwise, she is crystal clear in explanations. As everyone else said, her m.c. quizzes are a bit tricky, but hey, if you read the book and have some business COMMON SENSE, you can get an A in this class.

Hilarious if you have a sense of humor! Yes, maybe she teaches the class a little different than most professors... but you actually come out of the class understanding it. Tests are fairly graded... multiple choice questions are tricky (read the textbook and you'll be fine) though.

Prof. Tannen is simply the best! And this is coming from somebody who did not get an A. A great accounting professor. The class is a bit like a high school atmosphere where she controls everything. She's a bit rude n intimidating at first but when you get to know her shes harmless and funnily sarcastic. Her exam is a lot a lot easier than most acc profs. only last 3 chpt a very fair grader. but she does smell like alcohol lol.

I took her class a year ago thanks to her BONDS that is the only thing I'm good at now in finance class. Pay attention to her bond teaching it'll help you later in finance. She might be a bit nutty but she's the best chance at your future classes
