Excellent! She expects good papers with extras but she gives you everything you need to do it. Walks through entire writing process complete w/ class discussion, writing ideas, individual meetings, etc. If you do bad in her class you did not try!

Is a great professor. If you do your work and turn in college level work you will do great. I loved the class earned an A. She helps and edits your papers so that you can make improvements to your paper before you have to turn it in for a grade.

I think that she is a wonderful person and teacher. I suck in english and I came out the class with a B!!!

7AM class was the hardest part. Most of class is about discussing personal opinion. Wasn't difficult to pull off an A if you just read what's assigned, put down your opinion on paper in the morning, and put what's in class discussions on the tests. Shared her own personal opinions about all the readings and society in relation to to the reading.

She was fantastic. The people like myself who like to learn and be challenged think she is the best. The losers and shallow students say bad things about her on the site 'cuz they have always been too lazy to learn how to put their ideas in words. It shows pretty much by what people say here and how they say it. It was tough, but it was so worth it

Ms. Wedes was very helpful when you approach her. Straightforward, and for the most part doesnt make things hard when they need not be. She even helps you out by giving you questions you can answer if you didnt do the reading he night before. Overall i enjoyed her class and having her as a teacher, and would love to take another class by her.

i admit that this has been of one of the hardest class that i have ever taken but i came out learning a lot. on my first paper i received a 50 and worked my ass off and came out with a b as my average. she will teach you what high school teachers did NOT! our class started with 25 and about 6 stayed and maybe 3 or 4 passed!! in for a challenge?

Ms. Wedes was one of the hardest teacher i have ever had..if youre an ESL student. Dont take her. She is a perfectionist. But she tells you everything that she wants on your papers..(helps a lot)but it is never good enough for her. Her critisisms were rather sarcastic. If youre an English major, take her.

she is easy going and no deadlines, but you shouldnt miss a class, she wants perfect papers, i didnt do well, but i still recommend her, you dont have strict due dates.

She's a great teacher if you actually want to learn something and if you dont mind putting some SERIOUS effort into something. A hard grader but then again, its college. I cried because her class was so overwhelming but in the end I pulled off my research paper with an A based on what she taught me. If you're not too lazy take the class, she's good

Yes, she is hard but that is because sometimes we all get lazy but that s not her fault is it? Yes, we have to pay attention. Yes, it is our future. I agree, she is fantastic if we want to make a better difference for each other.

This teacher is fine. If you have to take some English, you could do a lot worse. She teaches at HFCC now. It is a fun class, some reading, good discussion... This class is fine...just register for it.

She is an excellent teacher. She tells you exactly what she expects for her assignments, she will answer any questions the student may have, she will take late papers, and reviews daily the next days project. Anyone who is stating this is a bad professor obviously doesn't realize this is college and work is required to pass courses. GREAT COURSE!

Great professor. She makes you work for it, but in the end you will be writing at a college level. Rare breed but there's a reason why to some student it will be hard. Just stay focused

She's very monotone and her lectures are long and boring. She is a tough grader and she will make you earn your grade. She's very good at giving feedback and will help you if you ask. I worked countless hours on her papers and passed the class with an A. This class is not for the lazy. You will have to earn your grade but she's a good teacher.

Honestly I am taking this professor for my second credit of English. She is one of the only professors to actually give feedback on papers and emails you send her. Very quick and actually helps you out in the work that she gives. Its best to attend, by missing one day it feels like you missed week. Great professor! Recommend for sure!

I have not even finished this class yet, but I have been so impressed with this professor's availability outside of class that I felt it was worth saying something now. While she does talk fast and you do need to attend the lecture, she is very willing to help even if you miss a class. She actually really likes her job and it shows.

3 essay and portfolio. no reading books necessary. she was really helpful, it was my second time taking eng 1301 got a good grade.

A modern professor. Don't expect old school expectations, she has a website and puts it to use. Google Dropbox will be your friend. Expect early morning emails on grading day about many new comments on your doc. Has crystal clear criteria when grading but considers meeting expectations a C grade effort.

A lot of my classmates hated her, but I loved her. She was an insanely tough grader, but she had very clear instructions for all her papers and she wrote her own as an example. Shes great with feedback and will admit to her mistakes if you point them out. I would never take a class that essay heavy again, but she did make my writing better.

She is an absolutely amazing professor. She is incredibly modern in her approach and has her own website that you utilize for the class and you write all papers on Google Docs. She is a tough grader and while some students seem to think her class is too hard, I find her to be terrific. She gives quick feedback and is always willing to help.

Get ready to write a lot of papers. Make sure you are familiar with Google Docs since that is the main resource she uses. You will use it to view all of the learning content she will share with you, and you will also use it to turn in your papers. Grades a bit tough, but she gives good feedback so that you can make improvements.

I signed up for a different professor, but they switched the prof. last minute, and Im really glad they did. Although Dr. Wedes can be a tough grader, she taught me how to write papers in a format other than MLA. I really like how she uses Google docs for all papers, and she responds so quickly and answers everything I need. Great prof!

Great teacher! Took her for my summer class. Very informative and helpful. TBH, she should retrain 90% of the teachers at the UHD on teaching methods. My only advice is to take the papers seriously. I picked a topic and it was much harder to work with than I expected. I got an A though. So, it's all about how much work you put in.

Do NOT take this class if you're looking for an easy A. Standards are high, however, she gives very intensive feedback which is pretty rare. I don't think I've ever had a professor read through my entire essay instead of just skimming. I wouldn't suggest to someone who is not good at using Microsoft Word. She is flexible though, I like this class.

I took professor Wedes for the Fall Semester 2020 and honestly she was great. As an online class, there were no mandatory zoom classes but you are expected to finish the book assigned. The papers were average length except for the second one which came out to be over 11 pages BUT do not worry, she breaks it down for us.

Signed up for this class scared b/c of the ratings on RMP but she is a very communicative prof willing to help u pass. No zoom was held so she put up a very detailed schedule easy to follow. She is a tough grader and her assignments are a bit tedious so she makes u work for ur grade, but long as u put in enough time/effort u will get a good grade!

You will do a lot of research, note-taking, reading, and writing for 3 major assignments including your portfolio whats due towards the end. But no worries, just follow the course calendar in her class for all assignments and turn them in on time. Very easy to contact via Zoom and email, and is extremely helpful.

She's nice, and replies to email quickly. She grades based on your writing, even though it's wrong, You don't have to read everything as long as you can have an answer that satisfies her. You must complete all the assignments to stay in good shape.

Dr. Wedes is a fantastic instructor. She was one of the reasons why I did not drop out of college. She was super kind and understanding to me. I would 100% take a class with her again.

If you are a busy person, DO NOT TAKE HER, but if you're not, TAKE HER! There's 3 papers + the Portfolio. Paper 1 is easy, Paper 2 requires LOTS of research and lots of time, Paper 3 is based on your creativity, and the Portfolio is just simply revising Paper 2 based on her feedback. Gives EXTRA CREDIT which really does bring your grade up.

I took Prof. Wedes class in 2014, and I still use what I learned, even in Grad school! Yes, this is a hard class, but you learn to write well like a professional. She was always available for feedback, support, etc. This is a class that you need to stay prepared for. Take advantage of her course and LEARN. It's worth it, almost 10 years later.

Dr. Wedes was so great. She listened to me whenever I had problems. She was flexible with deadlines and understood that I had a life with kids, full time job, and other classes. The work in the class was strenuous--that's just the nature of the class for 1302. But she was patient, kind, and graded fairly. I would definitely take her again!

Dr. Wedes gave me so many important writing skills for future classes. I learned APA formatting which was so helpful since most of my courses at UHD use APA format. I'm a STEM major (computer science) and having us write a STEM-style paper as our research paper gave me important skills when I had to write such papers in other courses.

There is a lot of homework for this class but the flexible deadlines helped a lot. Dr. Wedes really understands that students have other classes and jobs and family and helps us with flexible deadlines. Her feedback was awesome. I feel like my writing improved.

I liked that the course book was available in the library for free and also online so I could access it whenever I wanted to. Dr. Wedes graded quickly, offered excellent feedback, and was available 5 days a week on Zoom and 24/7 via email. Highly recommend!

This professor was super helpful. There was a lot of homework and learning how to deal with the way the assignments were released only after you completed the previous one was a little hard at first, but she gave great feedback and was flexible about deadlines. She was real encouraging.

Dr Wedes was awesome! I learned a lot that I could use for other classes. She cared a lot about the students and listened and empathized with my problems and issues. I fell pretty far behind at one point and she suggested an alternative schedule so I could catch up. I did and I got an A. Loved her!

Be prepared to do a little bit of work every day for this class in order to keep up. If you do and you don't procrastinate, you'll do great. The instructions are really clear and the fact that she makes you complete one assignment before showing you the next helps you understand the process of writing an essay. I learned tons!

Dr Wedes was really encouraging. Just when I felt I was so behind that I could never catch up, she suddenly reached out to me and gave me a personalized schedule of how I could keep up. I followed this schedule and not only caught up but made an A.

Don't procrastinate! If you do, you could run out of time! But if you keep up with the course schedule you will not only do great, you will find out that you don't suck at English as much as you thought you did when you came in. She makes understanding the writing process and focus and organization the most important things.

The course textbook is an ebook in the library. No buying books! Yay! And you don't have to read the whole book. She teaches you how to skim books and articles which has helped me save time in other classes, too! Plus she's easy to talk to, she listens, she gives good advice, and she cares.

She was so helpful when my family went through a crisis and I fell behind. I was able to catch up with her help and guidance.

This is such a well-organized online class. She takes you step by step on how to write a paper. First you prepare by reading, then researching, then writing, then revising. There's three papers so you get to practice these skills again and again and it really helps. I know exactly what to do when faced with research papers in my other courses.

It's so clear that Dr. Wedes wants her students to succeed. She does everything she can to make sure we complete the course successfully. She's encouraging and helpful and always available.

English 1302 is an essay writing class. What did they think they would be doing, watching Netflix & posting on social media? There are 3 essays over 16 weeks. Dr. Wedes gives everyone every chance to pass. She does not take points off if you're late. She is very understanding about life getting in the way.

Unlike most English profs, Dr Wedes taught us how to write papers for other kinds of classes. If she hadn't taught me STEM-style, I would have been lost in my engineering classes. She recognizes that many of us are in STEM and not humanities/English majors. She helped me a lot!

Dr. Wedes teaches you step-by-step how to write papers throughout the semester, including a STEM essay. She is an excellent teacher. If you have any questions, she will be there to help.

I was really impressed by this professor. I've been in a lot of classes, and it's rare to see someone treat every single student with such consistent fairness. It doesn't matter who's talking, what their background is, or how well they're doing—everyone gets the same level of respect and attention.

I don't know where I'd be without learning STEM writing in this class. I was so skeptical at first, like, there isn't any writing in science courses. But when I hit Biology 1301, this class completely changed how I approach my lab reports and even my exam answers.I got a B+ on my first one!

This prof is a unicorn of writing professors. I was dreading this class, because writing is NOT my strong suit. She was always available to help. I had a family emergency and she was so incredibly understanding. Her lack of firm deadlines totally helped me catch up in class.

I actually felt like I understood what I was writing about. Being forced to be specific with my writing has made me a much clearer thinker and writing. This class saved my GPA.

I liked that her comments were not mean. She tends to ask what is meant or says Good job, or nicely put so you know you don't suck as a writer.

Using 10 sources seemed like a lot but it really helped me to know my topic. It was good to explore different perspectives by different studies and authors. This made my paper way more well-rounded and nuanced. I wasn't just regurgitating one opinion; I was presenting a comprehensive overview.

I really learned how to build a strong argument in this class. When you have ten sources backing you up, your claims are way more credible.This professor helped me realize how googling had me stuck in one-sided argument. She ended up complimenting me on how well-supported my arguments were and it was because I had so much evidence to draw from.

This class definitely made me a better researcher. I know how to find reliable sources now, how to evaluate them, and how to integrate them into my own writing. That's a skill I'll use in every class, and honestly, in life, especially now in days.

This class is definitely different. You actually learn something in it. Ten sources seemed insane at first, but it turned out to be a really good thing. My paper was better, my arguments were stronger, and I learned a ton in the process. But if you'd rather not learn and do things the easy way, move on.

This class is very easy for people who love english, however it is very loaded with work. Dr. Wedes gives you an exact outline, almost down to the sentence, on how to write papers. There is a lot of work and it is easy to fall behind. But she gives you one day to write one paragraph. Would take again!
