She Is very thoughtful and kind. She gives you many opportinities to maintian a good grade for the class.
Shes pretty cool. She grades labs like a Nazi judges Jews. But the test are ok and its a B class. Shes hot in a strange way. Many days my mind drifts away when she teaches and I imagine how sweet it would be to teach her some biology. Ohh yeah.
She is an excellent professor and person. She is beautiful inside and out. I am very blessed to have had the opportunity to have met her. I will most certainly tell others to take her class.
I thought she was a great teacher. I really learned alot from her class. You really have to pay attention and study hard to get a good grade. Its alot of information to learn.
I took this class distance learning. She was really on top of the discussion boards. Very helpful instruction. The tests were more than fair - very interesting extra credit questions. I would definately take more courses.
I was close to failing this class, but Joanne gave me some extra help, and I really appreciate it. She doesnt want anybody to fail her class. If you work with her she will work with you.
Ms. Corn is one of the best instructors I have ever had. You must apply yourself to make an "A" in her class, but she gives you every opportunity to succeeed. She is also an extremely pleasant person. I only wish I had takne her for Biology I. Ms. Corn should be studied as an example by her peers.
I took this Basic Anatomy class distance learning. Really nice teacher. Comments on everything you do and sends back your tests for review!! All tests are taken at the testing center and there are extra credit quizzes for at home. Explains all of your questions and goes out of her way to find answers to ones she doesn't know. Definenlty take her!!!
I took this distance learning so it was really hard for me. She seemed nice but her tests and the labs were hard especially for someone that is not into science!
she is a wonderful person and will work with u to help u get a good grade. her classes r very interesting, she gives a lot of info and sometimes that help understand things much better. also, she is very passionate about ecology and the environment around. the outlines she gives make studying for the tests easy. overall, it was an enjoyable class.
What a great class. I took her for distance learning and I found her to be extremely helpful. When I asked questions, she'd answer them within a day. She gives lots of exercises (coloring diagrams especially) to help with the material. Tests contained a lot of material... but she provided outlines to work from. Great class!
Don't slip up on the labs or she will gut your points and GPA. Grades like she's teaching physics at Oxford and not community college. Don't let her sunny disposition and ever-ready willingness to help fool you.
I thought this class was beyond ridiculous. I took her this past summer and she defiently gave you more work than anyone with a job or any sort of social life can handle. Her test weren't incredibly difficult; but still were next to impossible to get an A on. She's an unfair professor and I defiently recommend people to never take her.
Her class is very difficult. Tests are impossible to get an A. The Labs are graded too critically and essentially bring down your final score for the class an entire grade. But she is very nice.
A kind and helpful teacher. Her tests were not always so easy, but if you paid attention to materila taught it class, you were usually ok.
Professor Corn was awesome. I took another Bio class before taking her and didnt do so hot. Shes very helpfull and is willing to spend a little extra time with you if needed. I would def say take her if you can get into her class!
She is a horrible teacher. She needs to get it through her head that not everyone who takes biology is a science major. Some of us need it to graduate. She was extremly unhelpful who ever says other wise must have sucked up pretty good!
Prof Corns a great teacher who gets a bad rap. She's tough in a good way. She is clear on what she expects from her students and she provides you with great outlines. Here's a hint, try studying, put forth some effort into your labs you will do fine. If you think that just showing up is the answer, stay home you are wasting your time and hers.
One of those Professors who has a passion for what she does. Yes, she may have been tough but from my experiences, she would help you if you needed it. The outlines that she provides you are Keys to help study for the exams. Overall, very helpful and down to earth.
I didn't find the class to be very basic but I think it was a good class. I took this class distace learning which is mostly always harder. fill in and study her online outlines and you should do fine. Also read the test instructions for each exam. that was very helpful.
Mrs. Corn was great - I enjoyed Bio 101 as a 45-year old returning student. I took the class a requirement for teaching certification. She's a good lecturer who makes the material interesting. I really appreciated the chapter summaries she hands out. It lets you focus on the value add she gives in her presentations. Great job Mrs. Corn! - Tom
What a horrible horrible teacher. She is awful. All I hear around Bucks is how bad she is and not to take her. She is hard and a miserable woman. Whatever you do don't take her. You will be killing yourself if you do.
She is the worst professor at Bucks. She has a big ego and makes you feel stupid. If you ask her for help she will not help you at all. She indirectly tells you your screwed. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!
I never had a worst professor at Bucks than Joanne Corn. She will tell you you are going to be fine all year and then fails you in the end. She is miserable woman. Take anyone else besides her.
She is horrible... I passed her quizes and tests but she Failed me for leaving 2 classes early... DONT TAKE HER... you'll be paying for a definite F... theres nothing you could do to pass her class. I would be shocked if someone ever got a D in her class

This class is an easy A as long as you have some time to study. She gives you outlines for every chapter, all you need to do is study those outlines and the quizzes are easy. She gives you extra credit, every opportunity to do well and she's very helpful. I think this professor is one of the best, I don't understand those that rated her low.

She is a nice person, although she may come off a little too serious and uptight sometimes. I can't really speak for her BIO classes, but all I have to say is that I was glad that she gave us outlines to study for class exams. Her lectures were rushed and nearly impossible to follow.
I had her, along with two other teachers, for an Integration of Knowledge course. She was a little too serious and uptight and her lectures were all over the place. I wouldn't say that she was all that difficult though.
As long as you come to class and study from the outlines, you will do well in this class. She is more the serious type but very interested in teaching Biology. Overall, a solid teacher.
very strict. She will give you no room for mess-ups. Don't come late to class, don't miss an exam, do not miss a lab. No make ups period not for any of the best reasons your mind could think of. Good luck with this one.
She's kind of a twit. She's not really that interesting and doesn't make the class fun. It's really hard to focus and stay awake. She doesn't really know how to relate the information to the students very well. I had to take this class.... but I regret picking her as a teacher.
Last semester I took Bucks lame excuse for a "required course". (Intg to Knowledge)I took Spirituality & Emotion, worst idea ever. Corn is a hard horrible teacher. Among her the other two teachers weren't so bad but just as boring. Don't take this class you'll have to put on a stupid mass and visit church (5 times btw).don't say I didn't warn you.
She is hard, but also very willing to help students succeed. There is a lot of work involved, labs, quizzes, tests, etc., almost every other class. And if you miss them, you can't make them up. You will need to study hard if you want a good grade. The grade you get is what you put into the course, but don't expect to breeze through her class.
Tough teacher and grader. Tough class to get throgh but she makes things make sense and useful. She also gives a lot of extra credit which is very helpful so do it!
I took her class the first time she was teaching it so there was a learning process. At first her tests were very difficult but later on they got much better. Do the extra credit it helps so much, the quizes are challenging. Very helpful and will explain anything as long as people bother asking her to :)

Professor Corn is a good teacher. Her classes are boring because all she does is lecture, however the outlines she give you of notes is pretty much word for word on the tests. It's a lot of information, don't study the night before the test, too much information. But if you review your outlines, your good.
Fantastic teacher, an A is very obtainable in this class, she gives you a week to turn in labs and the connect site for the textbook has pre-quizzes that are helpful. She has a lot of discussions and gives a lot of honest answers...she is not an evil-pro-evolution-and-that's-it kind of professor, she is open minded. I am taking her for 102.
I took her class because of all the good reviews she had on here. I dont know if shes different this semester or what, but she is not a good teacher. Very difficult tests and she makes you seem dumb when you dont understand something. Do not recommend.
Her outlines and PP presentations do not correspond. The labs are scheduled out of time with materials covered. Big disconnect between information provided. Scheduling labs, tests and lectures was extremely poor. Her sentences are convoluted in lecture as are the questions on tests and quiz's
Joan Corn is a wonderful teacher. Her lectures are interesting, and useful if you are serious about biology, unfortunately she's not very organize with the course material and you will have to study a lot on your own. Labs are impossible to get an A on and you might have to write a lit review. Lot's of work. Decide for yourself
Lectures were mostly pretty interesting and Corn provides an outline of each chapter. However, I worked sooo hard and barely passed the class! The labs were fun, but the lab homework was so hard and it's almost impossible to get an A. The only extra credit she gives is 10 extra points for an essay on the Exams. All the exams were VERY hard and long
she does not want her students to succeed. she is rude and inconsiderate. she honestly shouldn't be teaching. if you don't like to teach then why do it. she makes no sense. she sets students up for failure

It is impossible to get an A in lab in her labs and going really fast in chapters.Therefore, her lectures are not clear.
Ignore people who say she's rude and unhelpful - that is completely wrong! I'll be honest, you have to WORK in this class but if you do you will get the grade you deserve. She goes very in-depth but she knows what she's talking about. The material is hard but that's the nature of the subject. She was always willing to help me - I loved her!
Excellent teacher. Expects a lot from her students. Do not take her if you are not willing to work hard and study a good amount. Labs are long but she grades fair if you do the work! Doesn't try to trick you on tests and gives outlines of all things you need to know before the test. No surprises. Final is rough so do well on tests before.
Such a nice person. I don't understand why there is any hate for professor corn. Very clear with her expectations and lectures. Gives you guided notes so you can stay on track. Tests are very fair. The problem is that her students (or just alot of people at bucks) do NOT want to put in the work. Take her if you can, honestly she's the best.
Professor Corn is great. She has very short quizzes which are straight from the notes and if you pay attention to her lectures are very easy. Her tests are much longer but they are everything from the notes, no surprises. Make sure to attend every class because if you miss one you can't make it up and stay after if you need help, her 1 on 1s help!

After being a student at Bucks County Community College for about 2 years now I have yet to come across a professor like Joann Corn. She is the worst professor at Bucks. Joann Corn makes Bio 122 impossible. Her notes, labs, tests, and quizzes are extremely unclear. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT TAKE HER! I WARN YOU!
One of the best teachers I've had at bucks so far. She is very clear in what she expects you to do. And long as you do the work she assigns you will get at least a solid B. She doesn't give out points, she gives you the grade you earned which I liked. Very helpful as long as you as for help. Explains everything clearly
The worst and coldest professor I have ever had. I really do not recommend taking this professor for any class.
focuses on useless concepts. 1 class on historical figures (useless) versus 5 minutes on physiology (important). Her academic credentials are lacking (no phd, no degree from a real research institution). Maybe thats why she cant teach anything that requires thought. All she does is read from pre-made notes, fails to explain anything in her own way

DO NOT TAKE HER!!!! She takes random points off of your labs, and doesn't explain why. She yells at your for asking questions, and is very condescending. She doesn't involve you/the class in lectures, and just talks for a straight 2 and a half hours. Her lit paper is way specific and only a select few get a good grade on this. She's HORRIBLE.
She is an awful professor. If you have the chance to switch professors, do it. You won't want to spend a whole semester in this woman's class. She is such a mean, emotionless person who doesn't know how to teach or help students truly LEARN concepts.
The reason why the reviews for her are bad is because these students were prob disrespectful to her. Her lectures are really long and boring but if you leave in the middle of it, she's obviously not going to like you. Also her tests are fair. Right from the outline. And she goes by points not percentage. She's not bad if you give her some respect.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. This class isn't a breeze, especially if you aren't into science. you have to work for it. Grading criteria / expectations couldn't be more clear. What do you expect from a 2.5 hour lecture, nap time? Of course there's going to be a lot of lecture, It's college. Very intelligent prof, firm yet helpful.
If possible take another professor, youll save yourself a lot of pain.

I thought the teacher was okay, the class was good though lots of info to study.
Sh seemed like a good professor, as long as you study and take a lot of notes, plus work on the homework you will pass the class.
Explains everything clearly and hands out an outline for every chapter with all the info needed for the test- no surprises. Take some notes along with the outline and you'll be fine. NO homework. A few labs with some questions that are self explanatory. Looked over the outline an hour before each exam and got A's on all of them. Easy class.

Professor Corn is the worst. It is impossible to get 100 on any of her labs. She takes off points for everything. The tests are not bad if you spend a lot of time studying her packet. Her packet is basically just keywords you have to fill in the information yourself. The research paper is a lot of work. She can't answer questions on labs she gives.

The professor makes the class as HARD AS POSSIBLE for someone to get a good grade in. She is the MOST picky grader I have ever taken at bucks. I was told not to take her and just take the class online and now I REALLY wish I did. STAY FAR AWAY. Prof Corn's class was one of the hardest classes I've ever had. I had her for biology for non-biology majors and I'm not sure she understood that. Her 3 hour lectures were sooo boring. She doesn't do anything to engage the students in lecture. She gives out outlines at the beginning of every unit which is nice. Don't take her if you don't have to.
Professor Corn is a tough grader, and when I say tough she takes off 0.20 points sometimes on lab reports. However, she does give you an outline of the notes for each test and that is your study tool. She talks the whole 2.5 hours and won't let you out early. This professor also lectures after you take an exam which usually takes 1.5 hours.
If you are not a science person, i would not recommend you taking her. Shes not good at explaining things for people to understand. She is a very tough grader when it comes to labs and her tests are difficult.
Prof Corn is a picky grader but study regularly and do all your work and you will pass. She gives extra credit that is super helpful for your grade so I recommend doing it.

WORST CLASS EVER. she makes you feel stupid if you ask her questions & belittles her students and constantly yells at them. She always has to make herself sound like shes right even when shes wrong. My entire class is fed up with her & she still does not care to fix anything. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS !!!
Her lectures are very hard to follow. She back tracts a lot because her thoughts are very scattered and often forgets to mention important material. She thinks out loud and gets flustered easily. She expects much more of her students prior knowledge than the prerequisites require before taking the course.
There have been many cases in my class of people writing down the same exact answers and only one being marked wrong or incomplete. It doesn't matter if your answer is right if it's not how she would word it. I've caught several inconsistencies and just flat out inaccuracies from her lectures and reference material. Don't take her.
worst teacher ever. EVER. please do not take this class. my gpa has dropped so low because of this class and she is the most rude teacher ever. Take this class and youre just asking for a bad grade. Everyone in the class would fail the test and she still blames us for that, never takes responsibility for not being a good teacher.
Prof Corn isnt Nearly as bad as the reviews make her out to be. She is very tough and a picky grader, but fair. She is very thorough in explaining questions and is always available for help outside of the class for assignments/ questions, and offers extra credit thats VERY helpful for your grade. She makes you really work and earn your grade.
the term paper in her class is no joke (15.7%) , and here,s the issue it may be the day AFTER the semester is over before she grades it, she takes points off with no mercy and will expect you to do 3 hours of physical labor for her, you WILL be forced to GO OFF CAMPUS for her research project and you will not receive any points or pay. take hybrid
Professor Corn is very nice but she should not be teaching a basic a&p class. She is scattered in her thought process and goes off topic frequently. Her outlines are mostly talking points for her class, and are way too in depth for a basic a&p. She is not organized and gets flustered very easily. Good thing for YouTube and Google. Hoping to pass.
Corn wasn't my favorite professor by far but she's not as bad as people make her out to be. She can be a little odd and high strung and expects a lot, but I think she's mostly fair and will answer any questions that you have and is approachable. She wants you to understand the material.
She's tough but fair & you get out what you put in. Originally my class only had 6 tests and 6 quizzes and no homework or chance for other grades. As a class we asked for more assignments and she gave us coloring body systems, pretests, as wells as in class activities & all test have 10 pt extra credit. all her tests are directly from her outline
Has 2 labs to be done in one class, rushing through instructions and not elaborating on what to do. If you miss a quiz shes not understanding no matter the case, I love biology however this professor is ruining my drive for the course. If theres another professor available dont waste your time with Prof Corn.
Teacher assigns a bible of information to be studied for a single exam, even a friend in med-school said it was excessive.
I cant emphasize tough grader enough. There was never a time when a student had supplied an answer that was good enough. She takes off .25 points sometimes just to take off .25 and judging by the rest of these reviews Im not the only one who has noticed. If A Bucks admin reads this, call her in for review. With a rating so low, should happen.
What a tough cookie. She doesn't want you to just know the answer, but understand the material. Her tests are very specific and everything is graded very critically (-.25 adds up). Her grading seems to be very true to the bell curve with her grading being mostly C's, and only few get A's. Challenging, but a very nice lady who love biology.
I enjoy school & was looking forward to this class. Due to scheduling, I had to take this one despite the warnings here. Nice enough lady, very knowledgeable on the material, but her presentation is all over the place and very confusing. If you need help, ask privately because she is very condescending and it is embarrassing for all to hear.
Condescending towards students who were just asking questions and she tried to make us feel stupid for asking a simple question. Critical grader and takes off 0.25 for no reason sometimes. Assigns 18 page research paper on a topic you couldnt care less about. Ill never take her again because she made me hate biology when I enjoy it.
Corn is a great bio professor to the students who are interested in bio and can do well learning from lectures otherwise you. Are. Doomed. If you miss an assignment or try submitting it after deadline she will not accept it. There were many ways she was able to help us get through this class but she refused. Everyone in our class failed.
i would not recommend prof corn, she will take points off just because your classmate had the same answer as you, or she would find ways to take points off. she is a very tough grader, she will find little things to take your points off. i would just say not to take her, if you have any other option to pick a teacher, just go for the other option.

she is the germ, she teaches all the topics you need to know from exam. You just need to pay attention in her classes and make sure you study from her study guides and power points.
Great professor! Outlines clearly what needs to be known/done for exams and the lit. review. Gives realistic timeframes for work. No homework!! If you manage your time well and stay on top of your work, you will do very well in this class. She is also a very nice person:)
Professor Corns class is very well structured. She posts prerecorded lectures w/ outlines for each chp. Theyre well made & concise so use them as your study tools. the in-person lectures arent that helpful. Be thorough in your labs & get started on the literature review asap otherwise youll get a low grade on it. Exams are straightforward.

Professor rates very harshly, and at the end of semester gives you a research paper that is worth more than your final. Very passive aggressive!!!
Just do yourself a favor and stay away from any class Professor Corn teaches. I got a good grade, but not without doing triple the amount of work I've ever done for any class. Keep in mind, this was for the most baseline and entry level biology class the school has to offer.
Professor Corn is a good professor if you put in the work. She does not dumb down material for the course so you have to spend a lot of time studying. She is approachable and easy to talk to and was a great professor to me.
I won't echo most of what has already been said because we only get 350 characters. To keep it short, the lectures blow, the work at home blows, and she takes weeks to grade SCANTRON exams. Lets be real guys, community college professor w/ 110+ reviews. Use your better judgement and avoid her at all costs. I am really kicking myself for taking her.

It is not an easy course and Professor Corn is not a professor you can walk all over. She is there for her students 100% and provides the material you need. Material for the tests is outlined, if you're lazy or not smart you won't do well. If you pay attention,show up and respect her she will help you and you can get a lot out of the course.
Professor Corn is a lovely teacher! Her lectures are very engaging. This isn't an easy class but you certainly learn a lot while in it. Make sure you set aside time to absorb the material; she puts a lot of effort into teaching & it's only logical that we must likewise put a lot of effort into retaining the material
This class is not the type of class you can just skate through. There is a good amount of work but as long as you take some time to do it thoroughly, especially referencing the lectures, you will do well. Professor Corn is a very nice lady that really cares about her students!
She took off points for things not being exactly worded the way she likes. The only good thing about her class is the tests having questions worded directly from her outlines.

I have professor corn for Bio 122 online course and it is not the best. She has so much lecture information almost 4 hours a week and the tests are 80 some multiple choice/true false questions that rarely reflect the powerpoint and lecture material. She also gives a HUGE paper due towards the end of the class that is most of your grade. STAY AWAY!
Do not take this class. Her lectures are a total of almost 4+ hours a week and the tests barely reflect any of it. The tests are 85-100 questions and will tank your grade if you don’t know everything. At the end of the class she makes you do a 14 page paper called a lit review where you talk about other peoples essays!!! STAY AWAY
She is experienced and can really teach you a lot
Professor Corn gives you everything you need to succeed in her class. You need to spend a decent amount of time outside of class watching recorded lectures and using the outlines-- they will guarantee you a high grade. Don't be scared to take her because of the other reviews saying she's a harsh grader or mean, she's a great person and professor!
Professor Corn teaches in a way that's enjoyable; her lectures can be long but they go by pretty quickly because she's easy to follow & not boring at all. There's a lot of work to be done in the class but if you print out the outlines & keep them in a binder it will really help you come study time. Not the easiest class but rewarding. Extra credit!
Professor Corn is terrible. She does not work with her students in any way possible. Her assignments are loaded and the grading is minimal. 114 questions to simply receive 5 points. Hours of reading and a 34 question quiz filled with diagrams for you to complete for another 5 points. Hardest class ever and not rewarding by any means.
Tough grader! In addition to the simulation lab, she also assigns some questions about the lab. And she just gave me 50% percent of the full points! Awful! When I look at her answer key, it is impossible the answer the question like that. Unfortunately, she is the only professor who teaches BIOL 122! Sucks!
She is a kind and intelligent lady. She makes a very good online video, useful PowerPoint and outline. She is ready to help you to fix your problems. In addition to the knowledge in the book, you will get lots of benefits from talking to her. My current score is 93. She is not as rough as students said as long as you put your heart into her course.

I took this class a few semesters ago but noticed that her rating is still relatively high, so I had to fix that. During my time in this class it was not enjoyable and she really does not care about her students. If you do not write word for word what she has on answer key for the exams you will not get credit. BEWARE
Too much homework, not enough points and the exams tank your grade if you do bad. She doesn't care or listen when students express their struggles with the coursework and or exams, only tells you to "spend 15 hours a week" and "seek extra assistance." Please, find another prof if you can, you'll only cry over every wrong answer in this class.
Professor Corn is a really good professor. Nowadays everyone wants a piece of paper to make more money, if you want to learn, take professor corn. She is a wealth of knowledge and her class is difficult but you will learn a lot and if you are mature and attend class she is easy to get along with.
Professor Corn's has no-exception policies regarding missed exams and labs, this turned a potentially interesting class into one of the most stressful experiences in my life. Do not take this class if you do not have to, or if you haven't taken Comp II yet, her lit review is killer and should have had more check ins than it did.

Impossible to please. If there is a way for you to obtain your degree/certificate at BCCC without taking this class and or have the possibility to take it elsewhere please do so. This class is so stressful you can barely retain any information you're trying to learn because of the impossible pace/grading difficulty. She is the problem.

For a GEN ED course, she makes it nearly impossible to pass. Avoid her at all costs or prepares to be utterly disappointed and humiliated. Contact the Dean of STEM.
Professor Corn is not a good teacher. She does not help you succeed. She is condescending and rude. Find a different professor. I have my associates now and this was by far the worst class.
Terrible at teaching and completely unorganized. I love biology, it comes easy to me, and I've always been able to get great grades in it. My last quiz got a 70% because it was barley related to what she taught and used different terminology than what she taught. I'd rather be waitlisted in another class than take Prof. Corn ever again.
Ive been in this class for less than a month and im already trying to drop it, i show up for every class and study but im still sure im gonna fail! i hate it here so much if you can avoid this class PLEASE DO. teacher can not teach and gives 100 point tests and if we fail shes probably gonna say its our fault!
I can not express my dislike of this woman enough. She is rude and so condescending. This is a 101-level class at a community college... Pace isn't necessarily a problem but biology is NOT an easy concept for most (me) to grasp and she does nothing. It's only labs and exams and she grades sooo incredibly harsh. I wish I could write more... AVOID!!!
She was not very helpful throughout the semester and does not allow you to make things up. The due dates are stirct and not flexible.
Extremely harsh grader. Often deducts fractions of points for heavily miniscule things and is inconsistent with feedback. Largely unhelpful and condescending if you do ask. Her lectures are alright for the most part, its just how she grades and her quizzes and tests. Lots of trick questions and scrutinized language. Has a strict no make-up policy.
You must acknowledge that she has no further degree than a BA in Biology, making her no more reputable than a TA at a legitimate university, or any of you young scientists. Do not let her discourage you as she oftentimes incorporates her opinion on biological concepts, and utterly ignores the scientific method. Disgrace to science. (grad student)
I have been forced into Prof Corns course twice now and I will make sure, that anyone who is intending to take a course at Bucks to avoid her at all cost. She is a poor communicator, tough grader, and very confusing. I would recommend if u r taking a biology course for your UNRELATED major to graduate to wait&see if another professor has an opening
To be honest, she isnt that bad. Tests are pretty easy, all multichoice and matching. The big paper isnt hard either, work on it through the semester like she says, and don't cram it at the last minute. Dont bother buying the textbook, she won't use it. No homework, but I wish there were more practice problems. She is quick to respond to email too.

Hours and endless hours of notes, smart books, quizzes, canvas quizzes, labs, discussions, all of the above... it will suck the soul out of your body. Find anybody else, I wish I saw this sooner!
She is not respectful towards students. To other classmates who will not understand a lecture, she will degrade you in front of peers. The only way I wasn't criticized was because I gentle parented her.
Her exam question are done purposely to confuse and misdirect students in the manner that she presents them. Does not assist when one has had technical difficulties with during exams despite proof and time. Says to focus on her slides for exams, yet most questions where not in regards to her slides. Overall, i would advise to avoid.
The class is extremely challenging but Professor Corn is a good teacher and actually fair..

She's a very picky grader. Especially on the labs. The literature review is also completely useless and did not help with my learning or understanding of the class. It's also not required for the course so I would take another professor. She contradicts herself a lot. She he wants her definitions not the book definitions which creates confusion.
She gives us an 18 page long essay; instead of homework that could actually help us better understand the material and do better on her tests. She will also grade labs harshly, even though they are simple and should be easy A's.
Avoid this class at all costs! Professor Corn is incredibly harsh and condescending. The workload is overwhelming, with endless notes, quizzes, and exams that will drain your soul. unstuck AI and other study tools may help, but this class is best steered clear of.
Prof. Corn is surely vigorous, but I think the general hate she's gotten in these reviews is unwarranted. She's passionate and sets clear expectations. Surely, she is a tough grader, but she also gives you a rubric inscribing what she expects in the assignment, and it's up to you to follow that. I enjoyed her lectures and the course organization.
I'm typically very good at biology but even after putting lots of extra effort into her class I still couldn't seem to do well even though I typically was in the upper quartile. She also assigns a large research project and grade extremely harshly, the top score was a 80% in the class. which sounds like a direction issue to me.
I was nervous coming into this class because of the bad reviews, but she isn't THAT bad. She is a tough grader, especially the labs, so make sure youre very detailed. Take notes because she will say things during class that wont be on the PowerPoints, but they will be in the tests. She genuinely wants you to good in the class and is a nice prof.
Please avoid this professor if you are taking online classes. Her lectures are very informational but the content of her tests contains jargon and questions that are excluded from both the textbook and her presentations. Questions are literally if the sun is 10 billion degrees what color is the stool sample I sent to the doctor last week.
Extremely nitpicky when grading, you have to use at least 2 sentences to describe something or she will take off points. Wants everything spelled out. Highest grade in my class was an 83. Admitted that she doesn't provide EVERYTHING needed for exams and quizzes which is why many of us couldn't figure out where she was getting questions from.
