Great teacher! She's very kind and helpful. She's also very flexible with her schedule and will take time out to help tutor you in the math lab. She allows re-takes on her tests and will go over old tests to help you improve. She's also very funny and cool to be around.

This teacher is positive, and uses positive encouragement. Will give half credit for working out prob on tests. Lenient on grading homework, and is helpful if you ask for help. Seems cool, down to earth, and wants you to pass her class. I would love her for the next course, but she is not doing that class for summer session. Darn. Recommend Ms. K.

BEST TEACHER EVER!! I got an A in the class without spending much effort, she is very nice and kind, I took MGF1106 with her in the summer, and I am taking a second class with her in the fall (MGF1107) and in this class we don't even have to do tests.. only presentations

I really enjoyed this class. She's very helpful and wants everyone to do well. The majority of this class is based on group presentations which are usually fun to put together and watch from the other groups. I would definitely recommend this class to someone else.

Team Kakascik! I love Ms. K. I'm soooo taking her for my other math classes. She's super clear and very funny. Really good person and one of the best teachers I've had so far. I hate math, don't get me wrong, but having her as a teacher makes it waaaay easier to digest

Ms. K has an interesting approach to teaching this class. Everything is group project based, which can be good and bad. I feel I learned my sections very well, but I just learned enough of the other group's items to pass the quizes. But overall Ms. K is great and makes math lots of fun!

She is a very good teacher and laid back. You work in groups all semister, so you will get to know them pretty well. Make sure your in a good group because you will be sitting by them and working with them everyday. Easy A if you do your work and SHOW UP!! There are no tests in the class just projects and homework.

There is no better way of taking MGF1107 than taking it with her. It was such a nice relief to NOT be stressed about a math class and just having fun with it. I wish she'd would teach College Algebra like this :)

She is the best math teacher I have ever had. She has a fun classroom and actually knows how to make crazy math make sence. Sometimes teachers know what they're talking about but no one else does. Not Ms. K! She keeps it real! If you make sure you show up to class you'll understand and you'll pass!

She is very informed about what she teaches. Totally blew past my experience with previous math teachers. She explains on a level that anyone can understand, and goes at a pace where even the slowest can keep up. Very approachable and she is glad to help you with any questions you might bring up. She will explain until you understand.

I absolutely hate math and she made it so easy for me! Not only is she a nice person with a great personality but she knows what she's talking about and makes it so easy for everyone. I don't think I've gotten an A in math since elementary school but I got an A with her! She's by far the best! I wish I could have all of my math classes with her!

Mrs. K was by far the best math teacher I've ever had throughout all my years of schooling. She was a very good teacher for this class. She was very helpful if you didn't understand something. Alot of quizzes but that really helped reinforce what you were learning. I liked that the final wasn't cumulative, it was just the last chapter. Also once you took a test on a chapter you never saw that material again. Good class, good teacher.

In college, when you take your basic requirements, there have barely been any professors that have stood out to me. That is until Mrs. Kakascik. She's very enthusiac, highly motivational and super friendly. I greatly recommend her to anyone. She gave me hope in learning math.

She is available to tutor in the Math Lab at least 2 days a week that I know of. No in class Algebra time is ever enough time to learn it all. You have to seek extra help unless you are gifted. She is very willing to help out. She also tends to be lax in her assignments. She is creative and "visual" in her explanations. Overall: Great!

She is simply AWESOME! An amazing teacher who is fair with her grading, and extremely helpful. She will give you tons of sayings to remember things with, and makes note taking easy. She is also an amazing person personally. Very kind hearted and generous. If you can get one of her classes, TAKE IT. PERIOD!

She's very clear with her teachings. Every example she provides is from the book. HW is on mathxl and tests are multiple choice and sometimes short answer is mixed in. Provides extra credit oppotunities. Also has easy grades with the notebook check.

BEST TEACHER EVER!!! She makes sure everyone is on the same page and will even push back HW and tests until everyone is caught up. Uses Math XL and gives mult ways to earn extra credit. Prof K. is a great teacher. I'm not that great in math but received an A. Do your work and pay attention and you'll come out on top. I promise! I did it and so can you! She gives a lot of homework but only for you to understand what you will be facing on the test. She gives a review before the test and play games to gain extra credit. Take Her!

Mrs K. is one of the best teachers in HCC. my wife took her last couple years and I took mrs k last semester.. if you want A take her although I got B but only because I didn't do no much homework and give an effort for this class. Mrs k is very unique and friendly will work with you on any problem you have. recommended TAKE HER

She is a great teacher. If you have a question about math you should ask her for help because that is what she is there for. She helps make math better for students to understand and she also uses MathXL which helps with test preparation. She is nice and understanding but math is not and easy subject so you MUST study! MS. K is an awesome teacher. One of the most passionate instructors around. Her class was on Salvador Dali and she knew her stuff. The work was easy and enjoyable. Final exam was to take a Ms. K guided tour of the Dali museum. Loved it! Take this for your exit course!

Love this math teacher! Trig is a difficult subject, but Ms K will get your through it! 3 chapter exams and final, with online homework. She gives partial credit on exam questions (written parts) and shows you what you did wrong on the test. Is always willing to help when needed. Cares about her students! I took her 4 different times.

Professor Dye is awesome! I took the Salvador Dali and not only did she know her stuff, but she was passionate. She made it fun and entertaining. Great professor. Would definitely recommend her for your exit course.

Took IDS with her. Topic was Salvador Dalii and other surrealist artists. It's only a 5 week class. No grades, you either get satisfactory or you fail. Super easy to pass. But there are weekly assignments to do, a group project, an you have to go to the Dali museum with her all in a matter of 5 weeks. So just be prepared.

Math has always been hard for me, but she made it very easy to understand. She is very thorough. She reviews her tests and is always willing to help out her students. I will be taking her classes until I complete my AA at HCC. :)

I thought Professor Kakascik was great! I took her online Trig. class. Math is not my best subject but she made it fun. Her lectures were really good and helped you understand the type of problem you were working on. If you study hard you cannot fail this class. She even rounded up my test grades as extra credit! Overall great professor!

Fantastic professor. As someone who is awful in math, she made it incredibly easy to understand. For the most part, I used to only ever get C's in math, but she taught so well that even I scored 85-98% on every exam. She makes nerdy jokes and makes class enjoyable. Attendance not exactly necessary, but she does take roll occasionally.

She is a good professor and an extremely nice lady. She does get off topic a lot but that's just because she tries too hard to make the students have fun and enjoy the class. She is energetic and enjoys teaching. I would take her again.

Joann Kakascik is as good as they come. Her IDS course is relating to the artist Salvador Dali, and her knowledge of the topic is first rate, as is her enthusiasm. I'd never really liked Dali, but she was such a fantastic professor for Trig that I wanted to take another class from her. She belongs at Harvard. She changed my mind about Dali!

I would definitely take her again. She is super nice and has the best sense of humor! You will actually enjoy Math class! If you have to take Math, choose her and you will not be sorry. She deserves an award for making boring math interesting!

The best math teacher I have ever had. I wouldn't have done as well if it wasn't for the way she explains everything.

If you've had horrible math teachers your whole life, taking a class with this teacher feels like a breath of fresh air. Be warned there is A LOT of homework, she does push back due dates if the class falls behind and is very fair about extra credit opportunities. The reviews are harder than the tests but that makes passing them easier.

Love, love, love her!! Class was enjoyable and fun. If you do your homework, go to class and study a little bit, you'll pass. Group project was a little annoying but a great option for a good grade. Final can replace lowest grade. Gives extra credit.

Great Teacher. Very art focused though so you have to do an art project at one point. And then a group project. Plus some of the homework makes you do arts and crafts. Other than that it's very straight forward. She wants you to buy a quadrivium book but they have it in library also she makes you buy a picture frame for art project. Lot's of buying

This professor was my favorite professor this semester. I am terrible at math but she makes it fun and easy. She uses terms that are cool and that make it easy to remember for the tests, things such as "Kill the decimal" which teaches you how to get rid of a decimal. I felt as though I could see her for things other than just math.

Best math teacher I've ever had! Unfortunately my peers in my class did not agree. She had a hard time controlling the noise level in our class, which is not at all her fault. The class is great if you aren't good in math, she also cares very much and makes it fun adding projects and very personal feedback. Plus she's a cutie.

I have mixed feelings about this professor. You will leave this class knowing Trig like recognizing your face in the mirror. She gives an insane amount of homework; more than I've had with any math professor. It was my life when it came to crunch time. I logged close to 125 hrs in MML alone. She is generous however and gives plenty of Extra cred..

Finally decided to take Math again after 3 years and she was honestly the best. Very clear and makes everything much easier. 4 test and homework is online as well as assignment pages not more than 10 questions. extra credit every class pretty much. Take her you wont regret her. Her grading makes it impossible to fail.

I took P. Dye for trigonometry and she was wonderful! Trig was hard for me, but she made it possible. I took the class online but ended up spending time with her and her wonderful SI leader and they were both very helpful and great teachers. I can honestly say P. Dye inspired me to like math more, more specifically, trigonometry.

Awesome professor!! All homework is on mathlab which is really easy since you can fix your answers and get a better grade. She gives out extra credit through worksheets and is really helpful with the reviews before any tests. She really cares about her student would definitely take her class again 10/10

Take her! You won't regret it. This is a teacher that genuinely cares for you and your success. She makes you work for your grade so don't slack off! She offers extra credit, bonus questions on tests, has a study guide for each test, posts recources online, and explains problems step by step. I'm AWFUL at math and I passed because of her

She was an amazing teacher and she was always trying to make the class laugh. The only textbook was her notes and they were so useful.

Professor Kakascik is an excellent professor. Her lectures make math easy to understand. There is a little bit of everything (geometry, statistics, logic). Doing the homework is absolutely necessary. There is group work, which I'm not a huge fan of and she also has some game based learning (not my favorite) but overall I really liked the class.

I am not the best at math at all. I know people always say they arent but I really am not. Professor Kakascick made it very simple with her notes and making sure each student understands. Theyre many ways to get extra credit as well. You will need to attended all classes she grades on attendance and she does notes every class session.

Prof K is AWESOME! She really cares about the subject and her students, at the end of the class we had to go to the Dali as a class group and it turned out to be a blast. This class is incredibly easy and as long atypical show up and do the few assignments you have over the five weeks: A+.

Shes the realest. if math is ur weakest subject and u legit dont understand it and have cried in every math class you've taken since 6 grade. Then joan would be the teacher for you. Legit the only math class I've ever understand math. The leceture notes help alot and there is online work but it's so easy.

Out of all the math classes I have taken this one has been great for me! Theres more grades then test and homework so if you arent the best test taker don't worry you'll still pass the class with a C or higher! Very easy math class and a great teacher whose test are just like her reviews which you have to do!

I had her for 1033 and she was great. She uses Aleks for homework which was very helpful. If you are struggling in the class she offers many opportunities for outside help either in her office or the tutoring center. As long as you try and ask for help you should pass. She tries her best to make you succeed in the class. She's also easy to talk to.

You buy the notes and just fill in the blanks as she does the lecture. It's a lot of work but the way she does it really makes you learn. She likes to add humor and is willing to answer any question. Since covid, online work is about the same. The lectures turned into videos and she has meetings to go over the notes and answer questions.

If you have to take a Math Class, Professor Kakascik is the way to go! This class was easy to follow because the assignments were due weekly based on the lectures, the topics were interesting, and the group projects were engaging. Professor Kakascik is fair, caring, and a fantastic educator.

As a person, I absolutely love Prof. Kakascik. She's incredibly enjoyable, funny, and filled with energy. This spills over into her lectures and I honestly wish I could follow her into MAC 2311+. As a professor, she fuels her class on Almond Joys (inside joke) and her love for math. However, Trigonometry just wasn't my thing. Hope to see her soon!

I loved taking Trig. with Joann Kakascik. I often attended her office hours to be more clear about materials taught in class. Kakascik cares about her students. She was often late, but she made the lessons very cleared to her students. Kakascik also has videos to every lesson on youtube. KAKASCIK YOU'RE AWESOME!! Peace for you & your family.

Honestly for how short this class was being a connections class I had one of the best experiences in here. Shes such a nice teacher and is really engaging with students. Its clear she cares and is very in touch with the youth and will always make sure the class is good. Amazing professor and a great person :)

She is a great teacher! She explains clearly when explaining new material. She answers quick via e-mail when I needed her help. I am not the best when it comes to math but I earned an A so that says something!

She is a great professor. I am terrible at math and all of her online lectures are very easy to understand, and she's always more than willing to help you with any questions you have.

Professor Kakascik is a great professor, lots of MyLab Math for homework, but the tests aren't too bad. Very unspecific about due dates, whether you have to take a test or not, but she is a very nice and caring professor.

Good professor and good class. Homework and quizzes was through access code and it did counted on final grade, so do not let it accumulate. There were 5 tests total plus final. I tried not to miss any of the classes, because it was hard to catch up later on, so definitely try not to miss class.

I ended with a 101% overall and I did not try. The notes are fill in the blank follow along videos and she provides hw assignments for each note section. The hw is the hardest part in the class (done through my math lab). The exam questions are the easiest problems possible for every section so if you do well on the hw you will crush the exams

The video notes are super helpful, but the homework can be tricky. Definitely use unstuck AI to supplement your studying - it really helped me crush the exams despite the class being a bit disorganized at times.

A great professor who really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Attending the in-person lectures and taking notes on them is important, and attendance is graded. She gives many easy opportunities for extra credit on both exams and assignments. Attend her office hours if you're struggling, she's very kind and willing to help.

I used to hate math, but this ended up being my favorite class and my highest grade. The test and due dates were kind of unorganized and unclear but that's mostly due to the hurricanes. There's a lot of homework but if you pay attention in class it's pretty easy, just time-consuming. She's very understanding and is available if you need extra help.

Took MGF 1130, an amazing professor, she's very kind and clearly cares about her students. Very understanding and likes to interact with the class. Provides videos for outside of class if you need to work on a unit more but overall the class is fairly easy and she goes through the notes with you. Tests are weighted the most, but there is one retake
