ms short is a really good teacher and makes class interesting. She knows what she is talking about and i love her classes. She is an easy grader also. The only problem is she is the most disorginized teacher i've ever had and she never returns work until you hastle her over and over again.

Great teacher has a passion for the subject and she is so easy to get along with. Flexible with students and often lets class out early for various reasons. Her knowledge in the subject is incredible as well, she can teach you a thing or two about criminal law.

Prof. Short is AWESOME! She is the best prof I have ever had. She is so cool and funny that you don't feel like you're learning, just kinda having fun. Only warning is that she will call you on BS, so don't think you can get away with alot.

Short is awesome! I took her for Org Crime and now I'm taking Muder/Violent Crime with her. Super nice teacher! She is extremely knowledgable about CJ. All her classes are interesting and none are too difficult. Lots of videos though, so make sure you come to class because tests are on the notes you take. Very helpful and flexible.

So long as you listen to everything she tells you and take her seriously, you're good. Some of her classes seem a little scatterbrained and disorganized, but she doesn't penalize you for that. She is fairly by-the-book on attendance and tardiness on test days. I think you'd have to try to fail her classes. Other than that, she's got nice legs!

Have had her four times and got an A every time. All you need to do is show up to class to do well on her tests, makes it so you can survive without the book, and has 3 homework's and one big project all semester long.

Pretty decent teacher, she gets a little short tempered in the morning or if someone is acting up, so make sure that you're on your A game. Her tests aren't bad as long as you study and b/c of all her experience she knows what she's talking about.

Awesome Teacher! Explains everything in great detail, breaks it down so anybody can understand it and in an interesting way. What she goes over in class is what your tests are on, ALLOWS YOU TO USE NOTE CARDS ON EVERY QUIZ, TEST AND EXAM. If you don't get an A or B+ in her class, kill yourself.

She's a really great teacher. She's nice but dont abuse her. She doesnt like phone ringing in class. When your phone rings you have to bring cookies/ doughnuts to school the following meeting. Well, you dont HAVE too. She always asks "whats in the news?" in the begining of class. She doesnt like you using your phone during class. And DO YOUR REPORT. if she thinks you didnt do it. She wont hesitate to ask questions about whats in your powerpoint. Gives good grades if you deserve it. GET HER! :)

Great teacher, exams were open note. Class was really boring because she made us watch the casey anthony trial but if you bring a laptop you will be fine. Participate once in a while and do your paper. She let us do it with partners.

She is fantastic and funny. Since she is kinda old, she doesn't reply on emails soon enough and doesn't post materials on blackboard when she says she will. She is an easygoing professor but I think she has her own favorite students. She lets her students to use index cards during the exams.

Awesome class with awesome material, if crime, death, and murder is your cup of tea take this class with this professor. But she never answers emails and gets mad when you distruib her and ask dumb questions. Pretty easy a though

She is spectacular. I have taken her for four courses and am looking forward to taking as many more as I can with Prof. Short. She does lectures and videos, if you take notes, you are allowed to use them on the exams. Very helpful, she makes you want to learn more about the ADJ field.

Only 3 assignments all semester. She shows movies practically everyday. Great class if you're interested in seeing dead bodies and learning causes of death. She took attendance but I don't know how much it really mattered for the grade.

This class is a must if you are going into law enforcement. She break down the laws so it is easy to understand. Her tests are not hard at all if you actually pay attention in class, if you don't then you will struggle on the tests. One of my favorite classes I've ever taken.

Prof. Short is the greatest. She's so clear about her lectures and will give you thousands of examples on one subject to make it as clear as possible for you. I took ADJ 211 with her and her exams were tough but if you listen to her lectures and examples well, you'll do fine. She's so sweet and funny, I wish she was teaching 212! next semester :(

Shes a great teacher! If you show up to class and do the study packets you can use them on the test. (If a majority of the class did it) I wouldnt understand why you would not do them. Tests are easy and she will help you with anything you need. Make sure you have a partner in class in case you miss the packet. Get it from them she allows that.

Great teacher! Lectures went by fast, she would read over slides but explain in great detail each and every one of them for everyone to understand. Homework packets were exactly like the exams and she allowed us to use them as long as we proved to her we were doing them. If you want an easy A, she's the one! You need the textbook to do the packets!

This professor absolutely is the best. I took her for ADJ 211 (criminal evidence, law and procedures) and I looked forward to it every time because she is such a great teacher. The guidelines are clear. She is a respectable person with lots of experience in law enforcement. She is flexible with test dates and her way of teaching is clear.

She is such a sweet lady and wonderful teacher. The test is word for word the study guide, which she allows you to use on the test as long as you actually do them. She has a wonderful background in the criminal justice system so she knows her stuff and has a ton of cool stories. I would highly recommend. NOVA does a great job of finding real gems!

I respect her and when you don't understand a concept she is happily to give you a clear explanation. When taking tests you can use your study guides but you actually have to read the textbooks. I would love to take her class again.

You have to complete the study guides at home with your txtbk. She will give you answers to the study guide if you complete it by due date. Her exams are very easy if you do the study guide. She will even let you use it for the exam. If you do well on all 4 exams, you don't have to take the final. DO THE STUDY GUIDES! She is also a very sweet lady!

I believe that Prof Short is a walking encyclopedia in this subject area. She gives clear grading criteria. Her class is lively because she shows a lot of videos on organized crime. The class is so short that if you don't show up it is unlikely to earn your desired grade. Prof Short is fantastic. Please enroll in her class.

The class is based on like 4 exams. She lets u use the study guide if u answer them correctly. Attendance is not mandatory but she gives the study guides on class so if u miss them make sure u have a buddy to ask for urs. Laptops are allowed in class. She is very experienced in the subject.

She is the best professor I have ever had. I took this class on a whim and not to sound dramatic but it changed my life. What I mean by that is I had no idea what I wanted to do but after taking this class I figured out that I want to be which is a forensic scientist.

Mrs. Short was a lovely professor to have. She was knowledgeable about the topic and did an amazing job presenting it. The textbook wasn't necessary because she provides the answers to her packets which in turn you can use for her open note exams. Wonderful teacher all around :)

Sweetest lady ever. She definitely doesnt wanna fall students so you must show up to lecture and actually try for her class, which isnt hard at all. She was definitely an easy A class. She truly cares about her students and their future. The final presentation project was also very interesting and i had a fun time putting it together

Professor Short is my favorite prof because she actually cares about her students and wants you to learn! She gave multiple practice scenarios, practice exams, and even re-take exam opportunities. Great mini-lectures and clear instructions made learning the law fun! She is super fair and I left her class feeling like I learned a lot!

Most of her homework assignments are based on Discussion. She absolutely prefers if you follow her rubric on every assignment she hands out. She also provides extra credit opportunities for those who haven't completed assignments or didn't do well on quizzes. She also gives insight from her previous occupations and connects it to her lectures!

THE ABSOLUTE BEST PROFESSOR FOR ADJ CLASSES. I have taken about 3 classes with Professor Short and have not regret it, not once. She makes sure you understand the material as a class before taking the exam. Study guides are super useful and her lectures are awesome. She gives great examples and personal experiences to support her teachings.

Professor Short is an amazing professor and very passionate about her work. She wants to se her students succeed. The class is a little heavy on the lectures but she makes them enjoyable as she discusses her personal work experience.

The class itself is pretty easy. Join the class and zone out, but just make sure to do the study guides (all the answers on quizlet). The discussions also shouldn't take more than an hour, and they aren't graded hard at all.

Professor Short is a solid choice and lets you use the study guide on the test!

She is one of the sweetest professors I've ever had! The only major assignment we had was a Mystery Murder project (which was pretty interesting). She also takes current events and applies them to lectures, which makes the class interesting. PLEASE TAKE HER FOR CRIM INVESTIGATION CLASS!!!!!!!!!!

Professor Short is great, it's just that she would say she would assign things and she wouldn't. Sorta felt like she was all over the place, but it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Truthfully she is an easy A and she is very respectful. I wouldn't take her again since I've had better but I would advise you take her.

I've taken a few different Professors in NVCC's ADJ department and Prof Short is by far the best. Gives interactive lectures. Exams are very practical and aren't very different from the work you'll do in class, just by participating you will be 100% ready for what you are going to see on her exams.

All exams were open notes so do your study guides! She is very sweet and caring although, sometimes she can come off as rude/mean when you ask her a question or ask her to repeat something, she'll make you feel dumb. The textbook isn't needed since her lectures are showing each chapters. EXAMS ARE WHAT SHE GRADED OFF FOR ADJ 100.

She is great, this class grading system is based on exams. But you can use study guides and notes for them! easiest class ever but you have to put your part in by completing the study guides and taking notes. If you do well on all 3 exams you don't have to take the final. Shes understanding and caring

Professor Short held a wonderful course and all of the assignments were meaningful and helping, there were only a few. She is very laid-back, so if you are looking for an intense course, this isn't the one for you. I learned a lot through this course, and I recommend her! I've taken most of my ADJ courses with her and will continue to.

She was really a nice and a really understanding professor. She lets you use your notes during your exams. The only thing that sucked was the amount of textbooks you read through canvas but that was out of her control. Overall best professor I had this semester.

Great professor, the lectures are very interesting, she says that you would need the textbook but actually never used it so I don't recommend buying it at the beginning of the semester. The entire semester there's only 3 exams but if you like your grade, you won't need to take the final exam. She's very nice and sweet, I recommend her.

Professor Short is wonderful! This class is so much fun! You learn how to take fingerprints, investigate, interview. So much! 50% of the grade is based on the posted discussion boards. 50% is based on a final murder mystery project. The solutions are not revealed until the last day so classmates can try to solve them.
