Very great at communicating with students and gets back to you very fast. Wants the best for students, very encouraging!
This class is easy to pass as long as you do your work. You do need to make sure you have time to watch the movies but this class is very doable. She is great at working with you on late work as long as you communicate and don't take advantage.
This class is one of my favorite classes I have taken this semester. I loved that I got to learn new thing about my culture and got the learn the real meanings of the movies we watched in the class.
She is a great instructor with a clear and precise agenda. If you watch the movies and plays and apply yourself, you will pass with ease. I highly recommend this drama class. You will meet a variety of people and learn a lot about the Chicano Culture.
There was a lot of homework! We also did a group project
You learn a lot from watching different films and gives good feedback!
Make sure you have 10+ hours a week to watch films, write essays/answer questions and do discussion board posts. Tons of work but overall not difficult, just time consuming. Professor Perry really wants to see everyone succeed and makes her expectations known. No guessing what, or how to do things just a matter of getting them done! Great teacher!
I liked the class and the material but the projects and work in the class were a little much.
I really enjoyed Drama 70 with Prof. Perry. The films were fantastic and Prof. Perry opened my eyes to seeing film in a different way. Great class!
She gives a lot of work so don't procrastinate however it really just depends on the week because some are more than others. Her class is easy to pass just as long as you put in the effort. She's a pretty fair grader and very easy to talk to
Great class! The professor cares about your grade and cares that you succeed. Ive learned so much about film through this class and I see a different perspective watching movies now. The homework is a bit much but worth it bc theres plenty of time to get it done. Engaging in discussions is important bc its an online class and you see diff views.
The class and assignments are straight forward and it is fairly manageable to get the work done in the beginning. The only thing is that for every assignment missing your grade drops by a whole letter.
The class was great to take! The professor is always there to answer any questions you may have. I never had a professor that was so active in the course especially one that is online. I learned a lot. The class is very doable
She is very understanding and will meet with you in the middle
It was my first time taking an online class and this was pretty nice knowing that the teacher care
I loved Professor Perry. She was easy to communicate with and assignments were clear.
In replace of textbooks, you'll find yourself shelling out a lot of money for films if you cannot find them online. There tends to be a lot of reading and time consuming work each week. The work is at least worth it, as you'll learn a lot. If you do not have a lot of free time to devote to the course then don't take it.
Professor Folino works very hard to ensure a quality class. She is open to hearing from students ways in which to improve her classes and she holds herself and students accountable.
The teacher obviously cares and is passionate about her work. There is way too much homework. I spent the majority of my time doing homework for a class that was not my major. If you are not a film major, are not passionate about film, or hate homework than absolutely do not take this class. I learned a lot, but would not recommend her.
she is a very easy grader, I would do assignments last minute and still get 100%. This class is still a lot of work, she assigns 5 discussions a week and a couple of page response to the movie assigned that week. overall super easy A just gotta put in the work.
Overall, I really enjoyed this class. There is a lot of work every week so be prepared. All of it is manageable though You do learn a lot and as long as you stay on track you will do well. Make sure you space out your assignments so you aren't doing it last minute. The professor grades well and provides feedback on every assignment you submit.
An understanding teacher who gives a reasonable amount of work every week.
Drama 70 with Professor Perry was very interesting I did not think I was going to be interested in it the way I was. She gives a lots of work so be prepared for the workload but it really helps you learn all about film.
Professor Perry clearly puts a lot of effort into supplying students with a lot of information regarding the topics in the class. There is no book for the class, although many of the films assigned have to be purchased or rented. There is a good amount of work assigned for the class.
The class is labor intensive. There are a lot of discussion boards that you need to participate each week on top of the weekly assignments. You have to always be active online and make sure you complete all the work. Besides that, she is very understanding as long as you let her know what is going on.
Attendance required just one time to go see a play at the LMC Theater.
Very easy class if you check up online 2-3 times a week. Stay on top of your discussions!
Alot of work but none of it is hard. Just be on top of the discussion posts & responses and lastly, the weekly assignments. If you do the work you pass the class. Requires to attend two LMC plays.
I think this class is well worth the time and energy. Prof. Perry provides all the information necessary to be successful in her class, and genuinely wants her students to be successful and stay engaged throughout the semester. She's extremely encouraging, and she understands when life gets hard, so she's very open to talking with her students.
Not completely hard but definitely have to work for your grade. Need to be involved and make sure that you are interested in film, even if you aren't, you will be after this class.
Professor Perry is a great and understanding professor who wants her students to succeed and to come out learning something they didn't before. Make sure with the weekly assignments, they're detailed, don't skip any questions you will lose points. Participation matters because it's an online class.
This class is not that hard but does require a lot of work. Every week we have written assignments that we have to do. On top of that we have discussion forms that we have to take part in. Just be prepared to write A LOT. She will always keep her students on their toes with various assignments. If you procrastinate a lot you might have a hard time.
She is a very fair grader. I will say you have to put effort in your work she definitely checks grammar so always proof read your work. The class was interesting I learned a lot and the films chosen for the class were very interesting and helped me understand some history about chicanos.
This class is a lot of work, you have weekly assignments and discussion forms. If you are a procrastinator I dont recommend this class. You have to be on your work and be prepared to read a lot. The films are interesting to watch and it goes deep into the history of Chicano culture.
She seems like a great person, reads everything you submit, gives feedback, and will respond to your emails. She assigns A LOT of work so I don't recommend taking her class unless you work part time or is the only class you're taking or if you have a passion for drama. Make sure you reply to the discussion boards & do all assignments to get an A!
Professor Perry is a great and understandable person. She always sends messages to remind students to do works and due dates. Her class requires a lot of efforts. She gives a lot of reading and assignments. There are questions for a discussion board and weekly assignment you have to submit every week.
awesome films and teacher
Even though Professor Perry-Folino class was an online class I felt very connected with not just her but with my other classmates. Instructions for every assignment was clear and specific I would highly recommend professor Perry-Folino.
Professor Perry is a very good teacher and very caring. She is a very helpful teacher but the amount of work for this class is somewhat excessive. It was more work then any of the other classes that I took. If you take this class you will have to spend a lot of time working on it every week.
Professor Perry is an amazing, inspirational instructor! I loved all the films we watched. However, she fails to realize students have other classes and outside responsibilities. The work wasn't difficult on its own, but you do have to really work for a good grade. There are lots of articles to read on top of watching the film and tons of writing!
Professor Perry is very caring and encouraging to students. The films are great and I enjoyed the class overall. It does require a lot of work and effort on your part, and staying on top of assignments is a must. I would recommend this class to anyone who wants to take chicano studies, but be prepared to participate.
Professor Perry is a great professor! She truly cares about the students' success and totally roots for you. Regarding coursework, you must help yourself and be dedicated because it is heavy and you must take time out to read a lot, analyze it, and then form responses to prompts in both participation discussions and weekly written assignments.
This class was great. The professor was always willing to help you. However, I do not recommend this class if you have trouble making time for online work. Each week there is an assignment due as well as multiple discussion questions that must be done. A tad overwhelming, but she makes the class worth it.
Loved the online class. Has 1 oral requirement you turn in online. It is mainly about watching Chicano films (don't even try to skip scenes, you need to refer back to them when writing discussions). You also have to read a lot of articles in relation to the films. You have a week to turn your assignments in. Easy if you put in work.
This class teaches you a lot about Chicano history, but there is a weekly discussion that you have to participate in and sometimes the question isn't even related to the films another thing is to for the final group assignment she being really harsh on saying if there's one grammatical error will be given a 0 which seems unfair to me
Perry was a great professor. I took her online course and although the work load was a little heavy you still learn a lot. There is 4-6 discussion post due every week along with study question that go with an assigned film. she motivates, gives great feedback, and gives plenty of opportunities to get help if needed.
A lot of assignments and a lot of homework one group project and you must do all the work to pass
I enjoyed taking this class. You watch a movie every week and answer questions and discussion boards with them. You then do a group project at the end of the semester. Professor Perry gives you good feedback to improve your work and she is very inspirational to keep going GANAS
This is a difficult course, so be prepared to do A LOT of work. The professor on the other hand was very nice, and very understanding.
There's so much work for this class. At least 5 weekly discussion posts on top of the weekly written assignment which is usually at least 2-3 pages. And then on top of all of that, you have to watch a 2 hour movie. If time is on a budget for you then I wouldn't recommend this class. But if you like watching movies a lot, this is the class for you.
This class is very fulfilling if you commit to doing the work. It consists of discussion forums throughout the week and then a weekly assignment due at the end of the week. Professor Perry-Folino is very nice and wants her students to succeed. The movies are not boring and you have probably watched some of them already.
This class isn't very difficult if you're doing the work and you're doing them on time. She can be flexible and lenient when it comes to late assignments but I wouldn't take advantage of her kindness. There can be a considerable amount of work so be prepared to be busy. Watching movies and reading articles can take up a lot of your time.
Very tough, a lot of discussion posts and readings if you take online classes. Better to take in person! However if you communicate with her she will always respond which is great!
A lot of work on a weekly basis, but just need to manage your time well and youll do fine in the class
Pretty easy if you do what you have to do. Very friendly on late assignments in the beginning of semester. Recommend teacher for drama 30
This class is a lot of work. But it is a lot of fun. The movies are really great and Professor Perry is really helpful! I would recommend this course for anyone who has a lot of time on their hands.
This class was way more work than I thought. Every week there's a minimum of 5 discussions and also a paper on top of it. Weekly assignments vary from 10-15 descriptive questions to 2-page responses on the movie watched each week. Final is a 5-7 page essay comparing 2 films. she told the class not to message her if she had questions on the final.
weekly discussion boards that help analyze the film of week, I found them helpful. The movies selected for this course are great, Professor Perry is motivating, gives fast feedback, and a email away if you need help. Mid class I was faced with medical issue and she was understanding and encouraged me to continue and I'm happy she did, great class

Great profesor
This class was very enjoyable and there were plenty of amazing films we watched. It is an intense online course with written assignments and discussion forums every weekend so I would prepare time to do so wisely. It gets a little overwhelming sometimes, but it is worth it!
Best class and good material
So much work for one movie every week, be ready to watch long movies, and read a lot, and write! Will work with you if you communicate with her, can come off a little strong but cares about students success.
Very interesting class. Professor provides great feedback.
This was a very interesting class and the movies we watched were all good movies and you've probably watched or heard of atleast 2-3 of these movies. There is A LOT of work, it isn't hard work but there is alot of work. if you're looking for an easy A where you don't have to do much work ..... good luck
I took Drama-30 for the summer. It was a lot of online work, but I found it enjoyable. The films we had to watch were interesting and the questions often required our opinion on something. It's a cool interactive class.
Joanna Perry-Folino, is by far the most caring teacher I have had in college. She is fair and makes you want to meet her standard.
Professor Perry is a great teacher and will help you out. She wants to see you succeed but there is a lot of work that needs to get done. You really have to be dedicated to the homework to get it done. There were essays and discussions due the same week which was overwhelming at times.
I took Ms. Perry's Drama 030 course during the summer. It was very, very exhausting. The workload definitely isn't any to scoff at. However, I felt the material was very good and did help me learn about Chicano history, which I honestly knew very little about. I would recommend her course, just be prepared for the 25+ hours of work. Great Teacher!
Overall this is a great class that taught me many things about chicano culture and was something I would definitely recommend to others. However, there are times that the work is daunting and you do definitely have to budget your time well in order to succeed.
I loved this professor! I took this online during the summer semester, it was a lot of work but worth it!
Professor Perry is a very excellent teacher. I took her Drama 30 online class for summer. The work she gives is easy but time consuming so start on it right away. She gives great feedback like no other teacher had done for me. Her feedback is specific and as long as you listen to her, you will pass trust me. She's my favorite teacher by far.
I took the course over the summer so having a lot of work crammed together was expected. However, there was a lot more work than I thought there was going to be but she gives great feedback and as long as you do the work you're good.
I loved the class, the reminder mails were inspiring and I had a great time taking the class! I will recommend...
I really loved taking this Drama-030 class online with Professor Perry. It is a lot of work don't get me wrong but if you are motivated to get your credits and a good grade all you need is time and effort to finish the class. Professor Perry really cares for her students and she wants to see everyone do well.
Professor Perry-Folino is extremely caring and really motivates her students to work hard and do their best. You NEED to devote a lot of time to this class, don't slack off and don't take the work lightly. It is a very informative class and great as an online summer course.
Even though this course was only 6 weeks and it was intensive, the information and material covered was interesting. Be prepared to devote a lot of time to meeting deadlines, as this is clearly explained. If you commit to the work and deadlines, you will be successful in the end, even if you stumble across the finish line, you still did it.
Professors Joanna Perry is a great teacher even though the class is online she is still always there to give you feedback when you email her about an assignment. all in all the class is not hard and even though it seems like a lot of work she is still there cheering everyone on.
Get ready to read, there are many discussion posts and essays. I suggest this class if you are not working or have lots of extra time because this class is time-consuming. The professor is amazing though she gives good feedback. Straight forward class but just lots of work.
Professor Perry is very nice teacher and she gives very good feedback. She gives a lot of work that is time consuming but it isn't hard.
I liked the class
Very Good Teacher.
This class isn't something that you'll just breeze to with little to no effort, but it is still a relatively easy course that really opens your eyes to the Latino culture and the struggles that they continue to still face today through films, lectures, and short articles.
This online class was a lot of work but if you stay on top of the assignments you will earn a good grade.
Professor Perry-Folino makes you work hard but pushes you to succeed. Be ready to do a lot of movie watching and discussion board participation is required. She sends the class motivational messages along the way and to be honest, that was one of the reasons I was able to complete her class. You will learn a lot!
Perry was a very caring teacher, she wants too see her students pass but she does give out a lot of work.
Teacher is great, she give great feed back and responds to concerns quickly. I took course over summer so it was a lot of work for 6 weeks but she always kept us updated and sent us reminders of due dates.
Professor Perry is a great professor who strongly cares about every individual's academics and teaching her overall students to not give up. It was a lot of work but she is an individual who keeps you up to date and helps.
Professor Perry is a wonderful Professor. She is always on the student's side if there are issues to be solved. If you are going to take this class online, be prepared. There is a lot of homework that is needed to be done each week and you're not really given that much time to do so. Take this class seriously. You cannot slack off and waste time.
Professor Perry is an amazing teacher. She taught me how i have to be on top of my homework without being procrastinator. She very knowledgeable and knows how to make the student work it out. I would like to take her class in person rather than online in this way would more time in the class. this was my first online class ever and i really enjoyed
Professor Perry is an amazing professor. She is very involved with her students and she wants to see everyone succeed. Throughout the semester she would send out messages telling us to hang in there and that she believes in us. She is awesome & I wish more professors were like her. Her class is not hard, you just have to put a lot of effort :)
Professor Perry is honestly the most caring and a kind teacher and wants you to succeed but she makes you work for it, let course is tough but just try your best! she even lets you have extensions on late assignments, a few essays but its worth it. I would take her class again.
Professor Perry is such a caring and kind teacher. She is easily accessible by email and wants you to succeed. I took this class in the summer so there is lots of work but if you stay on track you will be just fine and if you start to lag she is there to push you to get your assignments completed. I highly recommend this class.
Professor Perry is incredibly understanding. When life throws things at you, all you have to do is shoot her a quick message and she will try her best to help you succeed. She is not a super hard grader. If you show effort in your work, you will get a good grade. There was a bit of work, but she mentioned she's revising the workload for the future.
Professor Perry is a very caring teacher, it was times where i would slip up and miss an assignment and she would email me personally to let me know that i missed an assignment and to make sure i do better next time and she always had my back even when i didn't have my own so i want to thank you for staying on me about getting my work in on time.
You watch a movie or two, answer weekly discussion posts, and do an assignment that is usually equivalent to a 2-3 page essay every week. She is fair and reasonably accommodating.
This course is everything you love about film and more. The workload can be daunting, but becomes more manageable as the course goes on. Professor Perry is a passionate instructor and genuinely wants you to succeed. She's also a great communicator, I never waited more than a few hours for a response from her.
This class was actual fun but it was a lot of work. The teacher is very passionate about her work and will help you if you need it. At the beginning of class, there is lots of work in the discussions and assignments but it lightens as you move on. There are two final projects and one of them involves going to 2 plays. Good luck!
Professor Perry stays up on you submitting assignments and pushes you to do your best. She is tough, but fair.
this class has a lot of work but the professor gives you more than enough to complete your assignments.
Great professor! There is a lot of work, but she is an easy grader if you follow directions and turn in your assignments on time.
For being an online class, a lot more work is required than you think. There's weekly discussion questions and an assignment pertaining to the film you watch each week. It's tedious work if you leave it all for the last minute, but if you work on it daily its not too bad. Professor Perry is understanding and gives you feedback on your assignments.
She clearly cares about her students and wants them to do well, and she gives many opportunities to earn points throughout the semester.
Great teacher! lots of homework, but she grades assignments generously.
She's very easy going, don't let other comments make you not sign up, she acutlly give so many chances for doing the assignment, the only thing they say lots of assignments but it's easy ( come on you need to focus on reading for 10 minutes) and you will get it easily, as far as movies most of them are free on campus or on kanopy
This professor is very good. She keeps in contact with you and she is easy to read through email through canvas. At the beginning there is a lot to read as due to articles and reflecting on them but it thins out. I like this class because it helps you be able to look at movies in a different way. I would suggest people to take this class.
The class was very hard at first. She had more than 5 discussions the first 4 weeks or so and then we also had a paper or assignment about the movie. Other than that the class was pretty easy. Once you turn the assignment in and if you can finish it early in the week its a lot easier.
Great Teacher, just make sure you complete all assignments!
Great class if youre interested in learning about film. You should genuinely like the topic because there is a lot of work given and if you arent interested in it then you might slack off. Each assignment is worth lots of points so it is easy to fail if you miss a few of the work.
This class is definitely a lot of work and it will keep you on your toes! However, Professor Perry gives clear guidelines and directions which was extremely helpful when it came to completing assignments. I highly recommend this class to every student.
If you think you can wait till the last minute to get your work done it wont work for this class. Shes a good teacher but she does work you which is good i enjoyed the class!
Drama 70 was the first class I took and I dont regret it at all. It was a film class and at first it felt like a very heavy class with lots of parts to assignments and discussions points, but then it got to a less amount of work as the weeks passed. Make sure if you take the class you do everything youre asked as you are graded on everything
Professor Perry-Folino is extremely engaged with the class and students. The class has a good amount of work, but if you establish a schedule it quickly becomes less heavy of a load. If you enjoy watching film I suggest you take this class, its fun and has personally changed the way I watch movies.
One of my favorite classes of my 1st semester at LMC. Yeah, was a little work heavy, but you get a whole week to do it. A little bit a day gets the work out of the way. No that wasn't meant to rhyme. Though I sometimes did my work at the last minute, I could kill the assignments in a few hours. As a film lover, I recommend. If you're not, I don't.
Not being too much of a fan of Drama, I was looking for this class to be boring and only needed for general ed. In the end I actually enjoyed it! The Professor provides many links to help if you need it. Do the work, and youll get an easy A.
This professor does give a lot of assignments each week. We watch a new film every single week which keeps the class interesting. This professor is very understanding and allows late work. I appreciate this because life gets crazy sometimes. Overall, she is a great professor.
Joanna Perry-Folino is an engaging professor who always provides useful feedback --- she is very understanding and willing to work out any issues if the need arises. As long as one stays organized, diligent, and communicative, it's easy to fall into a rhythm and complete assignments throughout the week despite the good amount of work.
Shes is amazing. Great communicator and very understand but also wants you to do your work in a timely manner. Dont take her kindness for weakness shes going to grade accordingly.
If you take this class you should be ready to work hard. You need to work everyday to finish all the assignments and discussions done by the due date. I enjoyed having her as a teacher, and she has definitely challenged me.
She does assign a lot of homework but the issue is she is rude. Dont even bother asking her a question because she will respond with a snarky comment!
I really enjoyed this class, and I had a lot of fun. However, if you like to do assignments at the last minute, then this class is not for you. Many of the assignments will take you hours to do, and some assignments have multiple parts. If you want a good grade in this class, then you will have to work for it. Overall, I recommend it!
I took her class online and it was pretty easy. We had to watch a film every week and then do some assignments on it. At first, I was overwhelmed. Throughout the semester I got more used to it and it turned out to be an easy class as long as you do all the work.
Great Professor, she is very caring and will help you as best as she can. she is very on top of things. She wants you to work hard in this class and do your best she really wants you to succeed
I thought the class was fantastic and the teacher is brilliant. I really enjoyed her feedback and all the discussions that brings my fellow students and I together. The class is filled with many amazing chicano films to watch that are in every movie genre and it was fun to talk about each film with my fellow classmates. Overall great class !
I absolutely loved professor Perry. She definitely made the class a challenge but if you stay on top of weekly assignments you will do fine. Professor Perry is extremely helpful if you need help throughout the semester. Definitely recommend and I would take the class again.
This is an easy class. Do the work and you will pass, don't do the work and you won't get as A. She is very flexible and is always open on helping students. I am taking Drama 070 and 30, I would say I enjoy drama 030 and the films but overall great professor!
works with you responsive
This was a very chill class for me. It was filled with weekly movies to watch and a set of instructions for hw. The hw consisted of short essays or answer a list of questions based on the film. Not hard at all as long as you manage when to do the work during the week.
I enjoyed the class even though it was a lot of writing, but I understand that it's to think critically. I feel as if professor Perry really cares about each student and wants us to succeed.
I enjoyed her Drama 30 online class, she provides very interesting films to watch. You have to manage your work load so you won't feel pressured and overwhelmed. Just do all the assignments she gives you and you will definitely pass her class. She has great communication with her students as well.
We had to watch one film a week. The expectations were very clear. Assignments were posted on a timely manner. Overall everything was organized and went smoothly.
You watch films then write about them. Doesn't get better than that.
Such a good class, the professor is always willing to meet you have way. Very interesting movies to watch too. Just prepare yourself for the workload.
She gives you maybe four or five articles to read, one movie to watch, and either a 20 questionnaire or has you write a 2-page essay. In one week. Not to mention has you post in about 4 discussion boards. She's a fair grader, and is willing to meet accommodations, but this is the hardest class I've ever taken.
Loved this class!! She keeps communication lines open with students and makes sure everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed.
It is a good class it just can feel like a lot sometimes,
Great person and understanding when it comes to homework and papers, just be prepared to actually dig into a lot of material and write meaningful essays. Not a class for slackers, also be prepared to learn about all aspects of film not just stuff that interests you. Takes a considerable amount of time per week.
Although it was a lot of reading, the homework was pretty easy to do. She was caring and understanding if assignments were turned in late. Would reply back within a few hours when you emailed her. Overall I would take her class again.
I really love the Teacher she was amazing and really knows her stuff about what she is teaching. She does give a bit of work at least for my liking. Small Essays when I'm not taking a speech class or English definitely doesn't make me happy. I know she meant well to have her students really understand the subject. Other than that she is very cool!
Amazing professor! This was my first college class ever and it was a great introduction. Work is not hard at all and you learn so much! I was so happy I got to watch a lot of good films in this class. She is also very understanding if you have anything going on.
I really enjoyed this class. There is a lot of work but if you stay on top of your work you should be fine. In terms of the teachers she is amazing and very understanding. I would definitely take her again!
This class was very fun and educational to take. Lots of work but it's easy to do.
I took her online course for the Summer semester and there was A LOT of work involved. Be prepared to put in several hours of work each week. Professor Perry-Folino's course is tough, but it's so rewarding. She also gives great feedback, which made me feel even better about my work. Do not take this class if you're a procrastinator!
She is very understanding of her students situations and always provides meaningful feedback
Get ready to watch inspiring movies and reading different websites. If you attempt to do the work and actually try you will pass.
This was a great class to take in the summer. Be prepared to watch a lot of films. Overall, great class and great teacher. Responds quickly and grades fairly.
Professor Perry, is great! Her class is pretty easy to follow. There are a lot of writing assignments, but they are all easy.
I took this class during the summer online due to Covid-19, and honestly it is really easy as long as you do the work, turn it in on time, and give yourself time to do the work. She does give a good amount of work (may seem a lot but it's easy), but like I said as long as you give yourself time to do it and stay organized, you can pass the class.
Amazing professor. She super kind and her class is somewhat easy. Definitely recommend her.
She was very supportive and took her time to reach out to you and help with any and all questions.
Since I took this class online I expected a lot of reading and writing, it didnt disappoint. She didnt grade very hard but there was a lot of time management needed on my part to maintain those high grades on my writing assignments and discussion forums. Teacher was okay at keeping the grading up to date. Overall GREAT class.
Drama 30 Great class with an awesome teacher. Professor Joanna Perry-Folino was beyond helpful and always an email away. She is understanding as well. She gives positive feedback and responds quite fast. This is my second time taking her and each time has been great. Yes, you will work for an A but in the process, you will learn so much
You watch one movie every week and then she gives you a couple discussion posts to answer with the class or she gives you an essay. She is an easy grader and is understandable about how things come up.
Quite a bit of work, but all worth it. Very good class.
Class is very straight forward, teacher is more than willing to offer assistance.
I have a terrible work schedule and wasnt able to finish some assignments on deadline, but the professor was understanding and did give me an extended limit.
Really enjoyed the class, and would take again. Weekly assignments can feel a little heavy at times between discussion posts and assignments, but it is doable and I was able to turn in everything assigned on time. I got so much more than I expected out of the class, and have a newfound appreciation for different movie genres and their impact.
This class was one of my favorites this semester. There is a lot of work, but if you are interested in the class it is not too difficult.
She will push you to meet her expectations but will work with you to help you succeed.
Super nice and understanding. Out of all five of my professors, she communicated with my class the most. Keeps students updated on assignments and grades with weekly emails.
She is a very caring, offers a lot help. The class I took is based on being assigned a film on weekly basis, and having to do discussion board, and writing an essay review on the film. What I can say is you must have good schedule routine every week to where you can set yourself for success when doing the assignments.
If film is your major then I would definitely recommend taking this class, you get to learn about a lot of different film styles and the history behind them. If you are one to just take the course and except easy work and just to pass, I dont feel its the right class for you, she absolutely makes you work for your grade. She's very passionate.
Great instructor, cares about students., she makes it clear she wants you to pass. Lots of homework but doable.
Great class, the professor is caring and made learning the material fun.
Very understanding and work load isnt crazy
The work is mostly films and very fun to learn about the films and the background about it . We learn much about Chicano/ Mexican films and their background and how the movies really impacted many. I was really impacted by the movies in the film and had the chance to learn about some things I didnt know about much films . I really enjoyed this cla
Professor Perry-Folino was understanding throughout this semester. Since the class was online, she was lenient and caring about her students personal experiences and struggles. I truly enjoyed her class because I got to watch different films that I wouldve never considered watching before. I am thankful that I chose to take this specific class.
Truly wants you to learn! A tougher course than I initially expected--but really interesting and fun. Don't procrastinate, there's quite a bit of work to do! If you need help; communicate with her (she's very understanding)! Great class. No textbook, but we had to pay small fees occasionally to rent required films.
She is a great teacher and has learned throughout her career on what make students tick. As long as you communicate with her she is patient and still encourages you to finish. Would take her class any time! However expect to read and have a lot of material to go through! If you're prepared for that you'll succeed.
in this class be ready to watch films every week, they were fun and interesting and assignments were pretty forward. She grades very fair and is so caring about her students. I would recommend taking her course for an elective or if your getting your spanish degree
Professor Perry is wonderful, she is very easy going, quick to respond to any questions, and most importantly she offers many chances to raise your grade throughout the semester. Though it was an online class, I enjoyed my time learning about different international and influential films. I would definitely take another class with her!
Professor Perry's class was very easy to navigate and she was always very accessible if you needed help or feedback on an assignment. She's an easy grader and very understanding of what goes on in each student's life. Essentially just submit the weekly assignment and discussion and you're good to go. You'd have to try really hard to get below a B.
There is a lot of work in this class, but she is very understanding and gives plenty of opportunity for you to get it done. It is also organized in a way that is easy enough to keep track of work and she sends plenty of reminders, convenient for online class.
Makes instructions clear to understand, which I respect.
This class was VERY easy. Assignments are nothing that cannot be done. Prof. Perry is very easy to get ahold of, and she always makes sure that we remember all deadlines and answer most questions for the assignments. This really is an easy course, so if you have the chance take it with this professor as it is an easy grade.
Professor Perry is sweet, understanding, high achieving and well respected. I really enjoyed her class and I liked her as a person.
This teacher is really rude and also this teacher gives ridiculous amount of homework and ESSAYS, I literally had more work in this ELECTIVE class compared to my actual important statistics and anatomy classes. do not recommend!
Professor Folino is a very supportive teacher and very insightful. She provides an excellent curriculum that is very encouraging and inspirational. She makes herself available to assist her students and gives positive feedback. I would most definitely recommend any of her classes. She helps you to tap into your reservoir of creativity.
Prof. Perry is a thoughtful teacher who responds to questions timely and grades with insight. The class required lots of reading and writing. I learned a lot doing so and watch films with a new perspective since.
Great class. Learned a lot about film technique. Professor Perry is a good communicator and the assignments were interesting and clear.
I recommend taking her if having to take a class that is needed for credit or in general. I learned a lot of different life changing views from the movies, all of them that we had to watch was amazing and worth the watch. Making the assignments super easy. I earned an excellent grade because of how amazing she was teaching.
The class is overall fun but if your taking this class you need to have a bit of more free time. Two movies a week are a requirement with many long questions, essays, and critical thinking assignments. Some of them are pretty fun but depending on what you have going on outside of school, it can get in the way. Prepare for movie rentals as well.
The class is a good class, many different types of movie. If you like to watch movies and are open to watching different movies, then take the class. I would say though, some of the assignments are confusing and don't always make sense. It's also a lot of work. It takes a lot time to do the work.
She was a good professor who I can tell cared for our success in this class. The workload was often times overwhelming, especially if you tend to procrastinate or are taking multiple other classes on top of this one. Overall, I liked the class and learned a lot.
Professor Perry is passionate about your learning. A good class to take!
I think that I have gained a lot of valuable knowledge from this class, including an understanding of how stories are told through movies and how the filming process works. Additionally, the technical aspects of filmmaking were very interesting, and I am now more aware of the tools needed to create a successful film. Highly recommended!
She is very generous with turning in assignments and can understand problems or concerns you have about the class.
This class was pretty fun. There were a lot of films that I was able to watch that I have never seen before. It was also fun seeing all the different ways a film is created and where they came from. When taking this class remember to do your work or they will pile up.
For starters, I did enjoy this class a lot because of all the new films I was introduced to. I think the class is worth it because even though there were about 3-4 assignments per week in addition to either 1 or 2 films, the professor was not all that fussy with grading. I was hoping to receive at least an A and it looks like I'm around an A+!
Overall I enjoyed the class and found the professor respectful. There were some technical issues on her end that were out of her hands, due to extreme weather, and that could have been handled differently. But overall the class was very consistent in the workload so it was easy to know what to expect.
The class goes smoothly if you communicate with Professor Joanna especially in the very beginning, and communicate freely about your struggles or worries is extremely beneficial to talk with Professor Joanna about.
The class is fun, you watch many different films. She is an easy grader, but assigns many different time-consuming assignments like 2 movies, (often required to rent), discussions, essay and critical thinking questions a week. I defiently recommend taking this class when you have a light semester where you can dedicate time to this class.
The professor is always available to help as there are many assignments and discussion forums assigned often requiring extensive thought, writing, and research. Not too difficult but not a class for slacking off as it has as snowball effect. Due to the amount of assignments its easy to slip into the danger zone
Professor Perry was a pretty good professor. She was decent with emails but she gave A LOT of time-consuming work. Be ready to write papers and discussions that require quite a lot of time and energy. To be exact, most weekly assignments were one major assignment (essays and whatnot) and a couple of discussion posts. But she was kind and helpful!
Professor Perry was great! However, she did assign A LOT of work. This is how it went: weekly assignments with one major assignment (an essay or some research-related assignment) and usually a couple of discussion posts (ranging from 2-4 discussions). Take the class if you have a light load! But she was kind and helpful!
Prof. Josephine Perry is an exceptional instructor who provides coursework to enrich your learning experience. She is fair and approachable, and allows deadline extensions upon prior notice. Overall, I give her five stars for her outstanding teaching techniques.
Professor Josephine is incredibly caring and if you need an extension she is more than willing to give you a few extra days. The workload is not terrible, you will have a few papers but they usually aren't longer than 2 pages. She responds to emails fairly quickly but will sometimes stop responding so you will have to email again.
Professor is very good at making the assignments clear and concise. The class is rather fun with the occasional creative assignments. Movies weren't awful, just tiring. I enjoyed the hero's journey assignments in the class though. Movies were repetitive and I wasn't really being graded on my accuracy. Half-tried work was fine to put in, to.
Clear and concise. The class is rather fun with the occasional creative assignments. Movies weren't awful, just tiring. I enjoyed the hero's journey assignments in the class though. Movies were repetitive and I wasn't really being graded on my accuracy. Half-tried work was fine? (Reuploaded due to wrong course code applied, apologies.)
Lots and lots of writing, but most of them allowed you to use your imagination, which made it way easier. Assignments were clear and concise, and information given was explained very well. 10/10 would take this class again.
Professor Josephine was a great instructor. Even though the workload could be a handful at times, she was very lenient on giving extra time to finish it. The work itself was not hard, just a bit tiring. I enjoyed the films she assigned, however most of them were only available through renting them.
Professor Joanna Perry-Folino is a wonderful teacher she was one of the very kind and helpful teachers. I really like the way that she teaches.
Professor Joanna Perry-Folino is a wonderful teacher she was one of the very kind and helpful teachers. I really like the way that she teaches. she always helps the students well, about every point.
Great Professor, who actually cares not only about what she is teaching but also the students she is teaching.
Professor Joanna Perry-Folino is clearly an expert in her field, she has an impressive resume on IMDB and I would not want any one else to teach film as an international art. She was always willing to give detailed feedback and compassionate responses to our homework. More organization and less wordy instruction would have been helpful.
This class has a good work load to it and is fast paced. If you have a good work ethic and do not procrastinate, then I'd recommend the course. When in doubt, do not hesitate in communicating your concerns with Professor Joanna; she is very understanding and will work with you so you excel in her course.
I really enjoyed taking Professor Perry's class! I did struggle to catch up with some assignments because I was confused on a few of the prompts, however, Professor Perry has always been really caring and gives you extra time to finish assignments. She cares about her students a lot and wants them to succeed!
Gives amazing examples and helpful criteria. Very easy class if you love to watch movies and talk about them afterwards.
Professor Joanna Perry-Folino is a great teacher. She is friendly and responsive. She understands life's challenges and allows us to make exceptions if absolutely needed. There was a lot more writing homework than I expected for an elective but considering the class was all online, that was the only way we could participate in class discussions..
Overall I do like this professor, she gives you more than enough time to finish assignments within the coursework, and the movies that you watch are mostly interesting (There was a few that I found a bit boring but that was just my personal preference). I did like most of the class though and enjoyed it.
a very lenient and helpful professor who seriously does care for the students growth and effort in loving film
I had Professor Perry for online Film class. She was a great teacher in the fact that she taught her class exceptionally well, does her best to meet students' needs, and cares about their success. There are a lot of films to watch, but I found them to be entertaining and helped me to grasp film techniques and know the importance of them.
Professor Joanna was truly amazing and one of the best professors I've had in college. She is truly kind and very understanding when it comes to work not being able to be turned in on time. Her modules provided are easy to understand and also exciting so it's not hard to stay engaged with. I would recommend any class that she instructs.
She's understanding with time restraints for assignments, you just need to communicate that with her.
Best teacher I took this semester. I loved her class. There are a lot of assignments to get through but know you can access it at any time and she would still grade them. Gives amazing feedback and you can always communicate with her. She would understand.
Professor Perry was helpful and understanding with time restraints for assignments, as long as you communicated with her.
great teacher, honestly recommend just to take for some drama/film knowledge.
she is my favorite teacher thus far and very understanding ! grades stuff nicely and gives great feedback.
She is really nice and kind, always accepting late work. She is great because she's working with us not against us, she wants us all to succeed. 10/10 class.
Such an easygoing class, highly recommend to take Professor Perry if you're neverous about other professors she is very lenient and understanding.
Professor Perry's class wasn't that hard to study in and all you needed was a bit of time to get things done in class every week. Like every good professor, she's willing to help everyone and is there to make sure you succeed.
She was a good teacher my problem would be the class itself the class was bland and the movies you have to watch put you to sleep extremely quickly.
This class was a an interesting and relatively stress free class as long as you keep up with the weekly assignments. This professor is very understanding and flexible with deadlines to help you get the best grade possible if you at least try.
Take her. She is very fair and allows amble opportunity for you to pass. Be prepared to write several papers, but nothing you can't handle. She gives you plenty of time, information and tools to complete the assignments.
Professor Josephine Perry, I can say about her, she give me a hope that I can achieve my goal, I am a student came from another country did not know education system in USA specially online classes, the way she guide me, and make assignments submission in very easy way that very helpful for a student like me. her teaching techniques are awesome.
Professor Perry is super nice and communicative. She's also flexible with late work just try to let her know in advance. Just to be prepare to write a handful of papers. You can pass this class as long as you keep up with the assignments, you get a whole week.
Excellent professor overall. Course load is on the heavier side but the content is valuable and way more fun than other classes. Professor Perry's main focus is the success of her students and it shows with her quick email responses and her willingness to work with her students individual needs.
This was my first time back in school after almost 15 years, so I was super nervous. I had looked up all my professors beforehand to ease my mind. She is extremely knowledgeable, caring and fair. You do get a bit of work but it's all very enjoyable- who doesn't like movies? I highly recommend taking one of her classes i honestly learned a lot.
I took this as a summer class. I was worried about the work load, but it was reasonable. There was 2-3 films/movies to watch per week and assignments to complete related to those films. I would recomended this class if you need it for your art & humnaties requirement.
This was a great class and I learned a lot! Professor Joanna was always very willing to help and it was very easy to reach out to her. I appreciated how she accepted late work. The class also covered a wide range of topics that helped me fully grasp the material.
Professor Perry is a great teacher and her Drama 70 class was enjoyable to take. She was sure to answer any questions and concerns that anyone may have had and overall seemed to care for her students. The actual content of the class was very interesting and the workload is not too bad, but it is easy to fall behind if you procrastinate.
I took this as a summer online class, it was heavy in writing assignments but not difficult if you keep up, and pace yourself. She allows for late assignments which is a plus but will serve no benefit if you get to far behind. It was very close to what I was looking for as an online, not to difficult summer class.
Nice professor! Always wanting to help you succeed, allows late submission, is always available! Writing must always be proofread!
Professor Perry is a very lovely lady that just loves films! It is very obvious in the movies she has us watch and what she wants us to observe. She's very lenient with grading, deadlines, and she's a great communicator. She's a pleasure to learn from.
The professor was very helpful and motivated me to do my work. I appreciated the feedback on assignments and her love for film was evident. Great class overall!
The work load can get heavy if you don't manage your time well but she does take late work. Assignment are not hard but there's a lot of writing so they take time, she's not a hard grader though and good work gets you extra credit. I would recommend this class to people who have a lot of free time and are interested in learning about film.
This class was not what I expected. It was all about watching movies and writing about how the hero's journey was used. It was boring and hard to motivate myself to do the assignments. Other than that she is a great teacher who is kind and accepts late work. Don't procrastinate because the assignments will pile up and it is difficult to catch up.
I had a wonderful experience with Professor Perry. Their teaching style was both engaging and effective, combining interactive exercises with practical applications. Their approach not only deepened my understanding but also significantly boosted my confidence. Overall, Professor Perry made a positive impact on my learning and personal growth.
Great professor. I enjoyed the class a lot. Learned a lot about the hero's journey, got to watch films I haven't seen before and analyze them in a new light. This is the type of class that focuses more on you learning instead of work overload. If you participate and do your work there shouldn't be a reason why you don't get an A. Again great class.
I Really enjoyed this class make sure to watch all the movies and read carefully assignments were fun due to following the character journey and the diversity of different types of movies. You will have to find to watch multiple movies a week but overall the class was simple and fast and not a very heavy work load.
Professor Perry is a very thoughtful and caring teacher who not only cares about our growth as students but about helping us succeed as well. Each week she always has some inspirational and motivating message to keep moving forward which I appreciated. The course moves pretty fast and a lot of the work is very subjective so just share your thoughts
She is very kind and sends messages so you know what to expect each week. The assignments were very well explained and has lots of info in order to complete them. She would also give plenty of resources to complete the assignments as well. Overall, I think it was a great and structured course.
Professor Perry is very easy to work with, as long as you stay on top of your work and communicate well, there shouldn't be any hinderances.
For an online class, Professor Perry was very active through Canvas email. You can tell she cares and wants you to succeed. She was lenient with deadlines and always motivated you to get you assignments in. If you are taking DRAMA070 during summer, be prepared for a heavier course load. I overall enjoyed the class and the films we watched.
Although we have not met in person, Professor Perry is a very caring teacher who allows students to excel when given a chance.
The professor was extremely engaging with the class throughout the whole semester. I also enjoyed all of the films that she chose. She's a good professor and I would encourage anyone that needs to take discourse to choose her as your professor.
Very sweet professor who you can tell is passionate about what they teach. My only complaint was that sometimes due dates and assignment instructions were not very clear. Easy grader as long as you put in the effort.
She provides all the resources needed and she lays out her grading criteria very well. Participation is greatly encouraged, with most discussions requiring us to comment on other classmate's contributions. She is very professional, quick to respond to questions on the Canvas inbox and makes herself approachable.
Professor Perry is a passionate and knowledgeable instructor who brings her subject to life. Her engaging lectures and willingness to provide extra help are commendable. However, the organization of her course materials on Canvas could be improved, as documents and assignments are scattered, making it hard for students to find what they need.
Professor Perry does not require for everyone assignments to have the same answer. She is more focused on knowing how her students interpret the assignments. Much respect!
Overall no complaints about this class. Gives adequate time to get assignments completed. Very fair with her grading.
it's an easy class just a lot of work but you can get through it
The professor is known to be flexible and understanding, as long as you communicate about deadlines. Just stay on top of the assignments and you should be able to do well in this online class.
Prof. Perry is understanding and flexible. As long as you stay on top of the weekly assignments and communicate with her, you can do well in this class. Using unstuckstudy AI and other study resources can be helpful for prep.
Great professor very accommodating and flexible regarding you as a student and your time. There is a lot of coursework but none of is it extremely difficult (ex: 2 page paper and discussion board were very common weekly load) she allows AI editing which helps. Overall a fun and recommended class for any students at LMC who have an interest in film.
Taking drama with this teacher was a great experience. Even though the class was online, she brought so much energy and creativity that it still felt exciting and engaging. She made the material easy to understand and often connected lessons to real-life situations, performances, or popular shows, which kept things fresh and interesting.
I highly recommend taking this class if you need film credit or just enjoy movies as a whole. Each week we watched at least one film and did various assignments on them, and the variety of films were great. Some weeks the workload was a lot, but they aren't difficult assignments. Just follow the instructions and you'll do great!
I very much enjoyed this course and would recommend you taking it if you want to learn more about film or screen writing. Be aware each week you get 1-2 films to watch and 2-4 assignments based upon those films. Some assignment scan be very easy, others can be more time consuming but she is a fair grader and is flexible with making up work.
I really enjoyed taking Professor Perry's Drama 070 class. She was very understanding if you missed an assignment and would give you a few extra days to work on it. The movies were not boring at all, and I found them all very intriguing to watch. Although there is a lot of writing, it was not too difficult to complete.
Professor Perry is an incredible teacher who helped me see and understand films on a much deeper level. Her passion for storytelling and the Hero's Journey made the class engaging and personally meaningful. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn more about film and grow as a person.
Professor Perry-Folino is deeply passionate about the class she teaches. The films she selects are excellent, and by the end of the course, you'll gain a strong understanding of the film industry, its evolution over time, and how to analyze films with greater depth and insight.
Prof. Perry is an excellent teacher, she is helpful and always available for any questions you may have. Her class can be difficult if you are taking multiple classes and work full time as her assignments require a lot of time and it is a homework heavy class. Manage your time effectively in order to succeed. Also gives extensions if needed.
Professor Perry gave us space to be creative and connect film to real life. I enjoyed watching movies I wouldn't normally pick—Blackkklansman was my favorite. I do wish there was more student interaction, but overall her class helped me look at film in a new way.
I love movies but this class made me enjoy them MORE. I was able to watch new genres that I never planned on watching. Professor Perry's gave very good feedback that helped me dive more into the film and understand more. Prepare for all the writing and the amazing films. I would recommend making time to watch the films.
She was very engaged and did a good job with communication. The class was very interesting, and I was able to stay engaged and self-motivated throughout the course due to the material. There is a lot of writing and research but overall, it was an enjoyable class, and I learned a lot.
Professor Perry has a very effective teaching style that makes you understand why a scene has such a grip on you and films more enjoyable. I also like the diverse genres we explore throughout the course, it kept things fresh while reinforcing what we learned.
Taking Film as an International Art with Prof. Perry-Folino was eye-opening. I gained a deeper understanding of global cinema, storytelling, and The Hero's Journey. The coursework was challenging but rewarding, and her passion for Film made the class engaging and transformative.
There's a lot of homework assigned so I recommend managing your time well especially if you have a busy life outside of school or are taking a lot of other classes. However Professor Perry is very understanding and caring, she's willing to work with you if you are falling behind.I enjoyed this class and all the movies assigned were very interesting.
Professor, Perry-Folino is a well thought of teacher. Giving us homework with dedicated time to finish, and even if it is turned in a bit late (1-2 days) , it's good to know that she isn't too strict about it. I myself liked how engaging the class is and watching film is something I found enjoyable in more than everyday life.
Professor Perry, is a wonderful teacher! She is very helpful and always sent reminders out about the homework assignment due for that week and if you need more time she was very flexible about it. I really enjoyed taking the class, the only downside is that there is lot of coursework but they were fairly easy you just need to stay on top of it.
There are assignments every week that have to be done, so try and make sure you give yourself enough time to do them. The films that we watched were enjoyable and gave me a deeper understanding of how films are made. Make sure to look over the assignments before watching the film so you can keep in mind what you have to look out for.
Professor Perry is extremely lenient on grading and allows you extra time to complete assignments if you fall behind. Grades assignments very fairly. As long as you complete your assignments you should be fine. The films that we were assigned to watch were all very entertaining.
She's a nice professor who is very passionate about her work and film! The material every week is difficult and you need to make sure you're up to speed. The films she assigns were nice to watch and learn about. Overall a good professor
Professor Perry's "Film as an International Art Form" class was a very good introduction to the world of cinema, especially for someone unfamiliar with the subject! The class is writing-heavy and does require good time management, as you are required to watch films ranging from 1h to 3h weekly, so make sure you plan accordingly.
nice teacher, lots of assignments every week, the assignments get repetitive. In my opinion, quite a few of the films we watched were boring. like old black and white films, however there are some fun ones like shrek thrown in there. overall this class is easy as long as you do the work. Also the teacher is easy to contact and replies quickly. 4/5
Time management is important as you are required to watch 1-2 films per week and then do assignments and discussion posts as well. The professor grades pretty lenient and gives people time to turn in late assignments. She also sends emails with reminders and check ins and replies quickly to any emails or questions.
The class is easy and the teacher is good. The only thing is that there's a lot of writing about the films we watch and you create your own stories but I do recommend this teacher. If you need extra time on your homework you can email her. She also offers extra credit and there's no test from what I remember.
Professor Perry cares about her subject and checks in with reminders often! There are a lot of assignments each week, including creative writing and film analysis (though it tends to slow down mid-semester), so time management is your friend! However, the assignments are interesting and worth it, especially if you appreciate film.
Enjoyed this class. Keep in mind that there are lots of writing assignments! You might also occasionally need to write a themed short story. Would recommend her class.
This is an asynchronous course with a lot more assignments due per week than an average course, so I would prepare for that. There will be 1–2 films to review per week, so I would recommend pacing yourself to view and review the films for the assignments that align with it.
Drama was a great class to take, just included lots of homework per week. Although assignments were due in a span of a week, proffesor Perry, was very good about giving us extra time incase of any inconvenience. Would definitely recommend taking this online course with her.
Really enjoyed this class—Professor Perry is passionate about the material and keeps everyone on track with frequent reminders. There's a good amount of creative writing and film analysis each week, so staying organized is important. The assignments are interesting and worth it, especially if you like storytelling or movies.
Amazing professor she Is very passionate and cares about you succeeding in the class. Stay on top of your homework It can be a lot, very easy to navigate the class. Would definitely take again
Very good professor. Consistent, and approachable. Homework isn't all bad, you just have to stay on top of everything, but overall a really good teacher - highly recommend.
Professor Perry is super nice and understanding and is always happy to help. As long as you love films and writing, her summer course of Drama 070 should be straightforward and fun. This class can be very time-consuming, so it's essential to have good time management skills if you're considering taking this class.
This was a very time-consuming course, but overall, it was an enjoyable and rewarding experience. As long as you stay on top of the assignments and manage your time well, you'll do just fine.
I really enjoyed this class! Professor Perry is super kind and encouraging, which made it motivating to finish the assignments. As long as you stay on track and complete your homework, this class is very manageable. I'd definitely take this class again!
I really enjoyed this class. It was super straightforward and she was always considerate if you turned some assignments late. For example a discussion I turned in 10 minutes late she gave me full credit. I recommend this class!
This teacher was amazing, truly! She was extremely patient with me and very kind. The work given is heavily analytical, but with proper time management (which I didn't have, hence the grade), nothing is impossible to get done. It was a very enjoyable class!
Professor Perry is very friendly and involved with the class. She's easy to get in touch with if you need help, which made things a lot less stressful. The workload is a bit heavy, but it's doable if you keep up. She was patient with me and checked in to see how I was doing a few times. Overall, a great professor who's easy to work with.
good class
She wants you to pass the course, she helps you i whatever way she can. Because this was an online class, the attendance wasn't really mandatory, you just need to complete your assignments.
Great professor. She is very caring and wants to help you with whatever you need. Easy pass, take her!
Assignments were great in terms of curating personal analyses but the Canvas page was unorganized/not updated and hard to follow/navigate. Recommended students use ChatGPT...not appropriate for a college level class.
nice professor
She is a very great teacher. Good at communicating and getting back to you if you have any questions. Always is positive and wanting the best for her students. The movies were great and just the way they got wrapped into what we were learning about was pretty cool. definitely recommend.
This course was taken over summer session, so the pace was fast and the weeks were condensed as a result. The chosen movies were really good, so watching them was fairly easy. The assignments were long, and detailed, but it was the only way to show what we were learning. The teacher was encouraging, and it was clear she wanted everyone to do well.
What I found helpful about my professor's teaching style was how relaxed and approachable she was. She broke down complex film concepts in a chill, conversational way that made them easy to understand without ever feeling overwhelming. Her feedback in emails was clear, kind, and always encouraging, which kept the class vibe really positive.
She is nice and communicates. There is lots of homework, typically 3 discussions, films you have to watch, and essays. Only thing I dislike is that some assignments don't have due dates so it's hard to know when she closes them, and LOTS of assignments have way too much information for the directions, so it's hard to know what she wants you to do.
