Nice person, but her teaching style assumes your really into science
Prof.Brock was great. I am trying to schedule her for 1102. She gives review sheets for every test & does a great job of keeping people interested at 8am on Saturdays.
If only this course had anything to do with science...
I hate this woman. Yes, the material is easy, but the way she presents it is ridiculous. I would advise you never to walk into her classroom. She is a horrible, petentious hag who makes up scientific rules. She does not know what she is talking about.
Do not sign up for a class with this beast.
Brock is terrible. Sitting in her classroom is a bit like sitting in Hell, watching helplessly as your appendages are ripped from your body, all the while tied up by chains of living serpents. Do not sign up for her class if you can help it. Good luck!

Brock sucks. Here is why: 1)She makes up "facts" that are utterly untrue. 2)She does not care about students. Brock enjoys taking every opportunity to demean us. 3)She is fake. In short, she is the worst teacher I've ever had.
My favorite of her scientific lies was that "Galileo determined the rate of fall of an object. However, because he had no stop watch he used his pulse to measure the seconds." Come on... if that's true then blood-pressure measurement is obsole
She is a good professor, but doesn't put up w/ crap. If you get your stuff done, then it will be easy, but for those who like to slack and not go to class, you will be way behind. Her tests are also short answer, never mutiple choice.
Brock is fantastic. If people don't like her its b/c they are failing an easy course. You do have to take a lot of notes, (This is college)but she helps oyu with an review sheet before every test. study that and you will do great.
She's very opinionated and a little eccentric, which could lead to some problems. She makes you do some work, but you are rewarded. My only problem with her is that she seems to have some trouble under-standing non-audio learners.
I took her for Lab; she was unable to answer any of my questions. I don't know how she got through school herself. I didn't take her lecture, but if it is anything like her lab, good luck! i take school very seriously and can tell you she is a sorry prof
I took Brock for both SCI 1101 and SCI 1102. She is the easiest teacher out there. You don't have to buy the book (b/c she doesn't use it) and she gives you a review sheet with all defintions and questions on her test (word for word).
she favors guys. all tests are short answer and what is right for one person might not be right for another.
I did not have a problem with Prof.Brock until she told me to sush in class when I was coughing She is hard to approach and talk to! ALWAYS put your group names in alaphabetical order or she will not count your work! But, If you are good @ memorizing info then the class is EASY!
fun but a bit mcuh sometimes, lot of notes to take but over all, its a pretty easy sci class, dont have to buy the book or even do all the labs (she only collects certain ones)
Interesting teacher, but gives you all of the information you need for tests in her lecture. She also gives out studyguides that have everything that will be on the test! Oh, and you don't need to buy a book because you never use it!
She is a great teacher. She is funny and knows what she is talking about in class. If you don't like her, that means you don't like getting an easy grade. Do your work and you will pass her class very easy.
This class was so easy as long as you attend regularly, and take notes! Thats all you have to do because she gives you the study guides for the tests. I like her, she is very nice and talkative.
I hate this class!I am a serious student and I did not sign up for this SCIENCE class to hear a teacher rant on about her political views. I am VERY sad that I wasted my time by taking this class with such a limited teacher.

By far the worst professor KSU have has ever had. She is too closed minded and totaly sucks. I would never take her again. She refuses to let students approch her and when you do she is very rude. SHe doesn't answer her emails, and her web page is always down. NEVER TAKE THIS LADY!! I really think if more people complained she would be fired.
I stopped going to class because I got tired of hearing about George Bush and Richard Nixon. I really wish profs would keep political opinions out of class and just teach like they are supposed to! don't take her....
horrible teacher. she is very unapproachable. don't get test grades until 1 week later, which she posts online. she has online quizzes that were EXTREMELY hard and there is no way of passing them, even when you take it with your friends. always on her soap box about politics, doesn't really teach, she talks from her notes. She was the WORST teacher ever!!! I dont think one student has anything good to say about her. You can not ask her questions if you need help, she doesnt care about her students, and she certainly doesnt care whether you do well in the class. She teaches an intro class like it is a graduate class.
She not very approachble, prefers questions to be asked through e mails. Like to give political views and tends to stay off subject. She can be funny at times and imformative. Her notes are long, my hand nearly fell off. If you dont like writing too many notes and want a teacher who you can approach dont take this teacher.
she doesn't get tests back on time, and even then, some of the grades are incorrect. I looked over my test to find that she had incorrectly graded it, even with the stupid scantron! doesn't respond very quickly to emails either! don't dare to approach her before or after class, she'll bite your head off! not recommended AT ALL!
Wow. VERY VERY unapproachable. says her job is to purge info, not help a student pass. I had an A in 4 years of h.s. science- i am failing this class. I am a junior in a freshman science class that is failing. it is 100% the lack of help for this class- if you can do it alone, good luck!
I was always an A+ Sci. student, until this class. I think I have a D or F. She is rude in emails and VERY unconcerned/unhelpful. Total waste of time/money. Haven't learned anything. Constant busy work & tests are worded terribly. Everything for her class is mostly done online on her awful website. I really looked frwd to this class,but she is AWFU
This lady might be having a hard time or something. I have tried and put forth my best effort in this class. I have never skipped and studied for 9 hours for the last test. I have yet to pass a single thing in this class and I pray every single day that I get a passing grade, or that she will let me approach her.
This class was awful i get good grades in my classes and even when i studied i did not do good on her test. She is very unorganized and boring. I have no idea where she got the questions for our test b/c she didnt go over them in class. The only positive thing about her class is she does give 15pts extra credit on every test including the final.
Worst class experience yet at Kennesaw (3rd yr). I got an A and it wasn't worth it. She regurgitates (very loudly) her personal collection of useless and sometimes incorrect info from her overhead projector and actually hinders all the ridiculous note taking, she's proud and opinionated, can't keep grades in order,detracts from study of science.

Not only does she talk to you as if you were an idiot, she embarrasses you in front of the entire class. What was supposed to be an Env. Sci. class has turned into a Physics Math class. Doesn't use book - EVER and gives an incredible amount of notes and useless information. BE WARNED!
Smart person but stay clear from this one. she dose gives you a study guide but her tests are horrid. I got a C but i get better grades from other classes, you know?

Horrible class. She seems like a nice person in person-but when it comes to teaching she is HORRIBLE! I have never been so confused. Tests are REDICULOUS, she is not approchablw with your questions, and rude in her e-mails. Her server is ALWAYS down so i never know when to do labs on line. No book so its hard to study. DO NOT TAKE HER! BEWARE!!!!!
Beware she can be very intimidating. Her class really is not that hard but it may seem that way. Labs are all online and they are easy to get a 100 on. Test are very hard and the study guides will not help you at all. Shes not caring at all and won't give you any simpathy even if it was something she did wrong. Dont take this class.
This is the worst professor at KSU. She didn't teach our class anything, but dramatically read from badly-written notes she wrote years ago. She does everything online but her website is constantly down. It is amazing that she is still "teaching."

This teacher is intimidating at first, then you sit in her class and fall asleep. She does give her notes out, but you have to share with other classmates. I do not recommend her and agree with the other ppl who posted here, she goes off on many tangents. i'd switch out of her class if I were you.
ms. Brock is not that bad. if you just study the study guide she gives out and do the online test its easy.. she doesnt care if you are in class or not.. and yes.. i dont agree with the way she gives out notes but, if you just pay attention. its easy..
Well...this class is VERY boring. However if you're looking for an easy class that you can pass (with some studing, but rarely having to go to class) then this is a great class.
Please don't believe the hype about this woman..She is a horrible teacher and thats that..Her notes are poorly written and off subject and her lectures are full of ambiguity..A mixture of personal thought, quotations, oh yeah and a bit of physical science..DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!! her notes make no sense when you actually recieve a packet out of the 50 she prints for 200 students..if u get lucky to have someone post all the notes like some guy did in our class then you never have to attend class really except group activities and test days. other then that, theres really no point in going to watch her ramble about nothing.

Oh Please... This class was unbelievably easy. She can't make copies for everyone its against school policy in large classes. You dont have to go to class or buy the textbook, why would you complain? Just fill in the study guide and you can get an A on her tests and you only have to do the labs that you have a test on. Take her she's entertaining.
J. brock is on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being low and 10 being hi falls at about a -2000 on the teaching scale. This teacher is a little off. I learned more about her family life, eating habits, and her stand against scientist against global warming. Also she is completely for evolution so if you go by the bible and disagree with evolution I wouldnt suggest her class. Actually, I wouldnt suggest her class anyways!
I honestly do not understand everybody's complaints. This class was NOT hard. She posts all class notes on her website, and gives exact study guides for tests! Lab and activity tests are all online, and group work is encouraged --- there is no reason not to get an A in Brock's class if you attend class occasionally and study for the tests!

This teacher is awesome. I always struggle with science and make c's and D's. I ended up making an A in her class. Yeah it's a lot of work but if you study like college students should then you'll be fine.
This teacher is kind of crazy. She sort of just teaches whatever she wants. (like physics and chemistry!) She makes a lot of mistakes and is very forgetful, and you will pay for it, because she blames her students for not getting work done when she has forgotten to post lab tests, etc. I liked her, but not her methods.
To tell the honest truth about Ms. Brock, I found that she is very forcefull with her opinions and found myself so offended by some of them I had to walk out of the class. Her tests and quizzes can be very confusing even with the help of a study guide. I found that she can be very arrogant and seems to think more about herself then other people.

Her class was a waste of my life. She will not help you w/ any problem, whether you don't understand something or you have an issue with how she graded your test. Brock does not help a student if there is a question about the material. There is no interest in going to her class because every class she reads the notes but does not explain anything. She gives a study guide but then puts all different material on the test. She thinks the study guide is a gift but does not think it has to go with the test.

I am horrible at sciences but I did well in the class. She includes extra credit on the test, has 6 take home quizzes which you can print off, find the answers, and then take..no reason not to do well on them. If the key is wrong she gives the whole class credit for it. She is VERY loud but entertaining. An A can be achieved in her class.
I'm in her class right now and I can't wait for this semester to end. She is very loud and oppinionated. No use going to class because all she does is read her poorly written notes outloud and tells useless stories. If you are lucky enough to have an SI instructor, I would def. go to him/her because u will get more there than in class. Avoid Brock!
She stands up and talks to the class the whole time. If you are auditory, you'll MAYBE like her. If your visual like me, good luck. She tells you how to do the math part, she doesn't work out any problems in the class. She never answers emails so if you have a problem good luck. She is not helpful at all and doesn't care about students.
Everyone on here giving her a bad review I would BET are too LAZY to attend class. Her notes are NOT complete online b/c she fills them in WHEN YOU GO TO CLASS. She provides you with 300 pts from tests online that you can print off first. My advice if you want to learn she is a great teacher BUT GOTO CLASS AND QUIT EXPECTING TO BE HANDED AN A

In this class there are online tests that she encourages you to do with other people and there are in-class tests. She does Physics first, and then Chemistry and then Biology so you get an overview of all three. She doesnt explain things too well and her notes are paragraph form..not bullet point. If it weren't for the S.I. student leader in this class, my grade would have been a lost cause. This teacher is very unclear in her lectures, often getting very off subject for a large portion of the class. She is entertaining and eccentric, but her notes are very disorganized. Her study guides are helpful and cover most of what's on the test.
Not my cup of tea.. She has a weird way of talking during her lectures. Kind of like her tone is going up and down. I would have failed without the SI instructor. Her notes are a mess. She doesn't discuss grades. Overall I give her a D for teaching.
I really don't know why people hate Ms. Joanne so much. She is very entertaining, often a riot. Very real. But then again, I am one who can appreciate essentric and self-deprecating humor. Although her exams aren't easy there are plenty of other opportunities to earn an A in her class. If you don't like her then you have no life!!!
Great Professor. Tests come straight from study guide. There are some tricky questions. Gives opportunity to get extra points. Labs are simple and on line tests are easy.
All I got to say is that you have to be crazy for making ridiculous comments about how bad Professor Brock is but to me she isn't at all. Has a very interesting way of teaching-Lectures are funny & informational but they do come directly from her notes posted online. This professor should do stand-up comedy. She has an off-beat sense of humor that only those of above-average intelligence can appreciate. I guess that is why she has so many unfavorable reviews. Yes, the exams are tricky, but there are plenty of other assignments do to well on in order to get the 'A' in Prof. Brock's class!
Brock is a cool lady. to high schholers she seems hard. Professors don't spoon feed you! She tells you when the tests & assignments are the first day of class. it's up to you to pull off your HUGGIES and take her serious. Study a hour a week, you will pass C/B, study more.. the better you will do.

Professor Brock knows a great deal about science, however, shows more interest in topics other than what she should be teaching. You will have to teach yourself, and the information you retain will be short lived. If you are interested in learning, do not take her. This class is easy if you complete ALL of the assignments. Avoid her if possible.

Avoid this professor at all costs. Her class is completely opinion based. On her tests, she'll test you on what she believes is correct even if it isn't. She loves to talk which is horrible. Test are very hard and tricky, and online test arent exactly "gimmes" either. Dosent use the book at all, so dont buy it. If you can get another professor for this class, I would advise you to do so.
I'm not sure how this woman still has a job. Her SI pretty much does her job for her. I've done all the work in the class, all the homework, studied for 36 hours for a test, and figured out a little more than halfway through the class that there was no way I could get better than a C in the class. I only got one bad grade on a test.

I made a B in the class and showed up for almost none of the classes. tests aren't bad because as long as you read the lectures (which is what she goes over in class) and do the study guides she gives you before each test you should be fine. online quizzes are a bit tricky but just take your time. Also you never really have to do the labs

I can't stand the subject of Science to begin with. Brock is a little crazy and way off topic all the time. She is a funny and nice teacher but her grading methods make no sense at all. Everything is so confusing with her and even though I studied for hours I still got low B's on the tests. I never did any of the labs bit still got a B. GOOD LUCK.

She is a pretty easy professor. She posts all of her lecture notes online. She gives you a review guide that has all the information that is on the test. Her points system makes it very easy to get a good grade in the class. The major reviews in the SI sessions also help for the test. She has extra credit points built in the test.
AWESOME! idk what the complaints are about shes quirky but she is an INSANELY !! i meen INSANELY easy A i attended her class rarely. Half the grade is online and the Si leader will make it a guarantee that you make an A on the test. take it if you want an easy class
Awful! She just yells at you for an hour and 15 minutes. She's not a approachable at all!I signed up for her class back in 2007 and dropped her after 3 weeks. The smartest thing I ever did. Avoid her if you can!
Loved Professor Brock, I could not stand science before taking her, but she always kept my attention and was never boring. I really enjoyed the videos she showed in class. Easy class if you go to the SI sessions. I made a B, but that is because I didn't do well on my Physics test (did not attend the SI session for that test). Take her. Awesome!
Boring class, however Brock is very lively and crazy. Keeps the students entertained with her wild rants. Ended up with an A only because I went to every single study session outside of class. Five online tests and 3 in class tests. Notes were just jibberish and extremely hard to read.
She's pretty awful. Her lectures are political and make absolutely no sense. Although, she does not require attendance and you don't have to turn in labs. Thankfully, we had a great SI that gave us her notes and study guides. Otherwise, I would have failed this class.
This lady is crazy! In a good way though- she will definitely keep you laughing in class because she is so off the wall. She goes off on tangents about random stuff. Attendance is not mandatory. The test are kind of hard but not too bad. :)

Very disorganized, the student teacher Christina is extremely helpful and in order to do well in the class you must at least go to her out of class major reviews. She's enthusiastic and interesting yet classes seem to teach nothing. 6 online tests, 3 in class, one other quick easy assignment. Not bad if taken w a group of friends.
Brock is a horrible teacher. HORRIBLE. HOWEVER, if you go to the master reviews of the Student Instructor then you will be fine. Overall easy class if you use the SI & can tolerate Brock.
This was her last semester, so she's gone...but i missed one online test b/c the server was overloaded and she wouldn't accept my email submission, ruined my grade. I got a 92 on 1st exam and 104 on 2nd exam (best grade in class)...and this one online quiz ruined my grade. not fair, she's really funny, but not very understanding.
easiest science i have taken in college. no attendance and barely showed up ans still made an A. Everyone complains because they wait till the last minute to do their online tests and the server locks up. Not the teachers fault.
Brock is very theatrical at times but it makes the class easier to stay awake in. Notes are online and she makes a study guide, attendance is not mandatory. She is really nice and willing to help if you have questions. Easy A if you go to class and study.
