Professor Carroll is actually a pretty great professor contrary to what a lot of people say. Her lectures can be helpful but sometimes very boring. I recommend reading the txtbk and using that to study because her exams have questions about info that is in the txtbk but was not covered in class. The exams are tough but fair.

her anatomy slides are bare to the bone and she goes through them quickly. her tests are detailed and ask a lot of 'All of the above' types of questions. you could pass by reading the textbook alone and not going to class but i would recommend going to class because she will remember faces and you may have her later on.

3 tests, all MC, no slides or answer key to practice tests posted. You must take notes on the slides, all the extra info she says (theres a lot which ends up on the test, so go to class!) and outline the textbook because her tests are extremely detailed and never straight forward. Its a doable class but need extreme effort.

4 papers, 1 midterm, and 1 final. The tests are all MC but extremely detailed so you must take notes in class and read the textbook because they are quite difficult. The papers are graded out of 5, max 3 pages per paper, so they're not too bad, but she is picky about grammar and length. The slides are not posted so you must go to class, which helps

I honestly thought this class would be harder but it turned out fine. took it in the summer as a repeat. Pretty good professor. Read the textbook! Study chapter reviews at end. her lectures are not that important but take her notes. Once you read textbook chapters, read her notes for those chapters as a good review/summary. May give extra credit.

She was very sweet. Her delivery of the information isnt that great, its really easy to fall asleep. You can tell that she is passionate about what she does. Two tests, if you can argue questions you got wrong shell give you back the credit. Some participation papers, nothing crazy. Getting an A is very doable.

If you're looking for a teacher that inspires their students to learn, and to highlight the significance of the subject, THIS IS NOT THE TEACHER FOR YOU. I showed up to class to listen to her go on and on. It's unsubstantial. If you get her, make sure you READ THE TEXTBOOK ahead of time, each chapter. STUDY THE SLIDES. If you want the A at least

She's nice person I guess don't get me wrong. Doesn't purposely try 2 make the class tough (I think), but it is. U REALLY have 2 put in the effort. Reading textbook and slides alone won't get it done. Must pay attention in lectures. If I did all the above, probably would have a better grade. Not into classes where I have to argue for points thooooo

Not too bad of a class but VERY boring. Reading the textbook is the key to doing well. Also, read the articles she tells you to. There is a midterm and final, the final is not cumulative. There are 3-4 papers, 2 were graded. There also some pointless class/group activities that were really annoying for a 7:30 class. Overall, this class is do-able.

I love Dr. Carroll. I think she is one of the best at St. Johns. She cares about her students and gives you all the materials you need to do well. Doesn't mind sitting down with you if you're confused. Provides sample tests which are golden and provides slides in case you missed or class or need to go back and study. Great professor and person!

Her exams are extremely specific and tricky. The questions honestly are made tricky where there are always 2 good choices. She won't really teach you anything if you have her for public health. Most of the class does pretty poorly on the exams, 70s and below; the average is usually very low 70s. Makes a regular class much harder than it has to be.

You won't learn a thing going to her class. You simply have to read the textbook. That is the entire class. She takes ages to grade Scantron exams with no short response because she has to correct the exams because every question has two good answers. She was the last professor to put up final grades.
