I have taken three classes with her and would have to say the complete opposite - she is a VERY understanding person. She just expects you to put forth your best effort and can see through excuses of "emergencies." If its a real one, she will DEFINITELY help you. Great lectures and very fair grader. She's got to be one of the coolest people I know!

i thoroughly enjoyed this class. The discussion groups are easy and sometimes interesting. I found that all i had to do was attend lecture and lab and study right before the tests to make an A. She does not let you take picture of the slides or gain access to them if you miss class. But the slides are not very text heavy and she lectures more than shows slides. She is a very interesting lady and I found myself never bored in her class. She always gives great examples so you understand what she mean. Test questions are straightforward.

Dr. Devlin is an amazing teacher. She is always willing to help kids outside of class. If you are an anthropology major, she will sit down with you to go over classes if you ask. She is a great resource. Dr. Devlin always has the best stories. Her tests are not hard as long as you go to lecture and take notes. If you can, take her class.

This woman is very intelligent but is a terrible lecturer. She does not explain things very in depth, she does not allow access to practice materials outside of the lecture and lab times, she does not allow you to see your full course grade, and she is just straight up mean. In short, Dr. Devlin was not a bad teacher but not a good one either. Consistently spending 30-45+ minutes on 1 slide and wasting time (in a 50 minute class). Inconsistently doing attendance through random pop quizzes for points that heavily affect your grade. And my main issue is being rude to students for no reason. Making rude remarks and looks.
