Intro to Health Psychology was an awesome class. Glad to finally have a professor who encourages class discussion instead of lecturing or reading from the book all the time!

Very down to earth,NO homework, 1 paper, tests are difficult but not if you go to class. Attendance is not taken but you NEED class notes for the tests! Tests are multiple choice and 2 essays, essays are from lectures only! Very nice woman :)

Awesome professor. She's extremely intelligent and passionate about the things she teaches. If you pay attention in class the tests are pretty easy. And she's always willing to help you. Shes an awesome person. Definately take her class.

I would not recomend taking this class with Diplacido. She is very biased and anti republican. She preaches or should I say ****es all class about Womens rights and how women are taking steps backward. Her tests are challenging, the only positive is she gives little homework. GUYS..Don't take her.

Dr. DiPlacido is by far the greatest professor at CCSU. She cares about her students' education and well being. The course takes work, but you definitely learn a lot. This IS college afterall...don't you expect some classes to be challenging? TAKE HER she is AWESOME!

I agree with the comment that she teaches her class as if it is a pride meeting. She has got to get the notion that not everyone hates homosexuals or are biased against them out of her head. Overall she reaches out to her students to get to know them, but if you do not do an assignment then she will show her disappointment and angry side.

i love this class, even though her lectures and tests dont have anything in common, i appreciate the topics she discusses. just read the book and get involved in class and you will do fine. she puts forward a lot of feeling and emotion in her class and that is something i can appreciate.. i would say to take this class!

She assigns random papers that she never grades even though she counts them as 1/5 of your grade. Also doesn't believe in the curve. She recomends a website that doesn't help at all. She puts the same questions on the test over and over again. So if you don't know the answer your get a ton of points off.

This professor forces her own opinion on you and wastes valuable class time. Lectures have absolutely nothing to do with her tests. Don't bother bringing your brain because your opinion doesnt matter at all. She needs to stop yelling at us about the problems in the government and take it up with the Bush administration. Don't take this class!

Dont bother taking the class and if you do, dont bother attending the classes. Read the book because thats all exams are on even though she wont even go over half the chapters tested on and she picks the smallest detail to test on. Worst class ever. I did the reading and still did bad.

attending class was one of the hardest things to do; though it was only 50 minutes at a time, it felt like 4 hours. she preaches her opinion and has no ability to see yours. the class/lectures had nothing to do with psychology, and i found her lectures boring and hard to pay attention to. she walsy seemed to be in a bad mood too!

If i had to choose in between taking this class or getting shot in the head while a hummer was running me over at 60 mph while at the same time i was stabbing myself with a 4 foot sword, then i would rather taka the second option. AVOID if u dont wanna get dummer

Don't bother going to class because it doesn't help. The Exams are multiple choice and ask very insignificant questions about the smallest stuff. Basically, don't take this class

Instead of learning about dopamine and dendrites, we talked about Discrimination. Too easy, who hired this lady? she comes to class in sandals, often is late, and in my opinion is not professional. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!!!

Very unprofessional. Class consists of her and 10 other women in the class complaining about women's rights, and thier life stories. I honestly have not learned one thing through lectures. Nothing comes from lecture on the tests, everything is from the book. Quite possibily one of the worst professors at CCSU.

Dr.DiPlacido is an extremely nice professor, she is helpful and has a great teaching style. She is one of the best professors that I have had in my five years of college. And I have learned a lot from her class.

If you go to class, read the book, and take good notes, youll be okay. It takes a lot of studying for this class but its pretty easy if you study. Dr. DiPlacido is nice if you attend class...although she doesnt have an attendence policy....you really do need to be there everyday

I was under the impression that professors teach you about the class you are taking. This class is completely the opposite. You are expected to teach yourself every thing. Almost nothing discussed in class is on the test. You are actually taught MAYBE half of a chapter of each 3 chapter test. She also shows up in jeans and T-shirts every day.

If you go to class and read the book, and take down a few keywords to remember, you'll be fine. She doesn't have an attendance policy, but showing up for class is important to getting certain information that's not in the book. She's really nice and understanding and is willing to help you if you ask her.

She taught Health Psychology and it was absolutely great and informative. I'm really glad I took this course. What I loved was how it was a mixture of psychology, health, sociology, and politics all rolled into one. The class discussions were intellectually stimulating and she's a very fair grader. I would highly recommend her to any student.

If you have to take health psych, you have to take health psych. If you're not a liberal you won't like this class. Even if you are, you might get annoyed at how little time u actually spend on the psych material you thought you were there for. She can be approachable, but not always.

Love her! Read the book & do the work assigned and you will ace the course. If you need anything just ask, she is always willing to help. Allows extra credit if you need it. She encourages open discussions and is really fun to have a class with in my opinion. Just read whats assigned, thats all!

Going to class is pointless since she doesn't take attendence and has random discussions! She expects you to really keep up with the readings and doesnt go over what is in the book at all. What is discussed in class is totally irrelevant to the exams.

Took Health Psych with her. She was very fair and helpful during the semester. Tests were composed of power points used during class. Overall the course was interesting and I would definitely take a class with her again.

super interesting & pretty hard. class attendance is not mandatory, but should go bc you watch really interesting videos and she elaborates on power point slides (which r emailed 2 u & gone over in class 4 each chapter.)usally nvr finish a pwerpoint bc she goes off on tangents. read the book and TAKE NOTES. tests are specfic but ok if u r prepared.

Extremely knowledgeable on the material. Test are multiple choice. Tests are difficult and quite lengthy. For 50 minutes there are 67 questions. Very intelligent and kind women, who is willing to work with you. Not an easy class, you definitely have to keep up with the reading.

Never even made it close to finishing any section/powerpoints before the tests. Always went off on a tangent that would last most of the class period. Read the book carefully or your grade will suffer, you will basically have to teach yourself. I don't recommend her.

Taking Health Psych with her now. I really like her. I am learning a lot and she is interesting. I'm a conservative, she is clearly liberal but it doesn't change the learning environment. I would take a class with her again. Tests are multiple choice, she listens to you, she is fair, gives extra credit work. Show up. Do well. Don't fear her class.

Dr. D. is a really great professor. She is very knowledgable and class discussions are very interesting. She does tend to go off on tangents. You have to do the reading in the book to do well on the exams, but it is a college class. It's not that difficult if you keep up with the work.

good class so far, would def recommend. powerpoints are emailed for each chapter and gone over in class. she does go off track, but she pushed our first test back due to "falling behind." first exam should be interesting. lots of info but go to class do reading, and make sure you understand concepts!

Sooooo, she's a really nice person and is willing to help you in any way but her class was awful to sit through. A lot of content she teaches related to disease transmission and causes of certain illnesses are completely wrong. I almost could'nt believe what she was sayig sometimes. I was shocked that her information was SO wrong.

Um, the class was pretty interesting but she was a terrible teacher. I didnt like her at all...She wouldn't finish the powerpoints and make us teach ourselves the rest before the test, and she wonders why the class does bad..she was nice but sometimes would get frustrated and snap, really weird. She seems like a nice person but I didn't like her.

It is hard to keep track of your grade in the class because she hands back grades really late. Grade is based off of a small number of assignments so if you mess one up then you are screwed. She is nice and class is interesting but she has you teach yourself at times which can be annoying.

If you're looking for an elective do not take this class. It was the most time consuming for me and I always studied a lot but still didn't do great on the test. She's also very boring. Wouldn't recommend!

Tests are extremely hard and that's pretty much what your grade is based on besides one 10 page paper. Would not take her ever again. You will have to read every chapter in order to just do slightly okay on the tests. Don't take it!

Great professor, passionate. Tests are clear & easy when you attend class & pay attention. She assigns reading but the test questions aren't really based off the reading, mostly just the lecture. Reading the material reinforces the powerpoints. She puts the powerpoints online, print them out before class! Also there is one project that is very easy

Dr. DIPlacido gets very excited about Health Psychology. Class is all lecture-- make sure to print the powerpoints before class so you can take good notes because she tests based on the notes, not just what the powerpoint says. She only grades you on 3 HW, 4 tests, and a project. DON'T BUY THE EXPENSIVE TEXTBOOK! NOT NEEDED.

Great professor, super nice. Lectures off of powerpoints so it's essential you go to class. textbook somewhat used. 4 exams, non cumulative final. 2 papers fairly short. participation isn't graded. just study for the exams and you're good.

Class was more boring than I expected it to be. Found it hard to pay attention because of the interruptions in my class. Not that it's her fault. She should wrap up student comments quicker than dragging them out because somethings just aren't that well related to the course. Big paper due at the end of the semester. Tests are a bit difficult

Nice, passionate and enthusiastic. HOWEVER she often goes off on tangents about political issues unrelated to course. Large portions of lectures spent talking about how Americas health care systems are terrible and how women are mistreated by men. Tests somewhat lecture based. assignments arent hard, just busy work. WAsnt a big fan

Dr. DiPlacido is a fantastic professor who truly cares about sharing the joys of health psychology. Her exams are all multiple choice and you don't have to read the book because her exams are based on her PowerPoints for the most part. Homework is easily completed and she's a very fair grader.

Attendance isn't mandatory and she posts notes, but GO TO CLASS, because she talks about things you need to know that are not on the slides, and the slides don't fully explain everything. You could pass without reading the book, but I found it helpful. She is super friendly and down to earth. You have to work for your grade, but you'll learn a lot.

Take this professor. I was so nervous to take this class in the beginning as I read these comments about her being kinda difficult, however it was so fun. Due to the virus, class went online & was easier. Before however, it was tough but very fun! Do NOT skip class. She gives out extra credit as well for exams which help a TON. I highly recommend.

Dr. D is such a wonderful professor! She is so nice and has a big heart. Our class was a safe space throughout the transition to moving online and a scary time in the world. Please take her if you have the chance! She is so great and always includes very interesting material in her lectures, videos, or journal articles!!

Dr. D is an amazing professor. She challenges you to be your best but she also is always there for her students. She is so passionate about teaching it makes you want to learn so much. She is the only prof. That I had that actually asked about our lives. Online classes can be rough but she made them worth it.

This class is not a class that your going to learn. It is as if she wants to cover so many different personality theorists she does not let you understand one before moving to the next. She expects you to understand every part of the theorists idea without ever giving you things to understand. Her assignments are not consistent with what you learn

Personally, I didn't learn much in this class. It felt like we covered the same topic all semester. All lectures were read directly from the powerpoints. Grading was also confusing. She also doesn't enter the grades online correctly, so you think you have a good grade until its too late to fix it. Nice enough person, but not the best professor.

She tells you to buy the book for the online code, but you do not need to. I never bought it. There are 4 homework assignments throughout the year and 4 online exams. Easy A, as I never showed up to class.
