This class was so fun! I never wanted to miss it! She is clear, interesting, and doesn't require much. She is a stickler for attendance but tests are easy. One paper and no quizzes. VERY interesting and fun! We were always laughing and she is SO helpful! Loved this class!!! Wish I could take more from her

She acted tough sometimes, but she's actually really understanding and helpful if you talk to her. You have to go to class because she takes attendance, but the class is interesting so it's not a problem. She really likes discussion the material with the class and having the students participate and put in their thoughts. Easy to pass if you study.

Awesome professor! Convinced me to change my minor to sociology, and I am taking her for every class she teaches. Very fair grader, one big paper but it's your choice of subject.

Great teacher! All notes on Web CT. Quizzes are used to boost grades, because there are only 2 tests (plus the final). Sign-in sheets used daily because if you never miss a class, you get some extra points on your final. She's easy to understand, pretty funny, and kinda hot.

SHOW UP TO CLASS. And speak a lot in this class. I personally got 10 extra points on the final exam just because i had no absences. she gives a lot of extra credit for showing up and taking the periodical quizzes. she's pretty nice and funny, a good class overall.

As long as you do the usual things you should do for the class like: read, take notes, go to class..etc. then its practically at least a B. This teacher was great because she used lots of personal examples so it made it easier to comprehend. Attendance is mandatory, but its not a drag going to her class.

She's entertaining and fun... her class is hilarious. People have slept on the first week but never again because she really does keep it interesting. Plus she co-teaches with Dr. Lewis, a really opinionated but hilarious prof! She grades quite fairly, you just have to show up to class and take really good notes. Pay attention! She is pretty young so she was very relatable and her antics were hilarious. attendance isn't necessarily mandatory but it is rewarded. the book was of little importance, to me, and studying the slide-show did the trick for me receiving high A's on my exams. I would highly recommend her! take her!

She is so refreshing, young, and very helpul, funny, and the exams are straight from the her notes...if you print out the power point slides, and study them, you'll do fine.

There are some moments in her lectures that make you think about what going in our society. Study the PPs, take lecture notes. A can be obtained, I did.

I never touched the book, but i showed up every day, took notes, and went to SI for a week before the test and pulled off an A easily. Literally one of the easiest classes I've ever taken, including high school.

Joanne and Dr. Lewis are the bomb! They co-teach the course. Go to class every day and skim the chapters -- you should get an A. Interesting and makes you think about the society we live in. Mrs. Ford is so much fun and always keeps class interesting! You should def. attend class...she likes to pull quizzes when you least expect them, but she only keeps 6 and drops the rest. Some advice--go to the SI's--they are the key to passing the quizzes! Overall really enjoyed the course and learned lots!

The teacher's personality and the way her and Dr. Lewis bounce ideas off each other makes the class very very interesting!!! To make an A or an B all you have to do is attend class regularly, take good notes, and study a day or two before the test. Not difficult at all. Also, she gives 10 pop quizzes but only takes your 6 highest quiz grades

Professor F-R is a really cool lady. Funny too. She tries to get everyone to interact to make lectures more interesting. Exams and quizzes were all online. Two midterms and approximately ten quizzes. Easy A if you put in a little effort. Attendance is not mandatory but she does not tolerate tardiness. So go and be on time or don't go at all.

Professor FR was very intellectual and easy to understand. I loved going to class because there was always something new to learn and the way she interacts with the class is very helpful. She gives a lot of extra credit so there is no way to not pass her class. Overall, a good professor.

Exams are online, and she says she doesn't try to trick you but some of the questions are tricky. Assignments are worth more than exams, and she grades them harshly. Don't show up late or fall asleep because she has absolutely no problem embarrassing you. She can make you feel stupid with your questions sometimes but don't take it personal.

Exams are online but timed so it is hard to google the questions. The material was always interesting and she always used great examples. I learned a lot from her and would definitely recommend her!

I absolutely loved this class. It was recommended to me by a friend, and the two of them play off of each other very well. They are funny, down to earth, and will make you think outside of your comfort zone. It is very easy to pass if you show up and take good notes, which won't be a problem, because you'll find yourself wanting to go all the time.

Prof Ford-Robertson & Dr. Lewis are the dynamic duo. They are old school, you have to attend class, lectures aren't posted online and she gives random in class quizzes. They make lectures tolerable by making it funny. And they love class discussions. Even if you're lazy, if you go to class you will make at least a B.

Professor Ford-Robertson together with Professor Lewis are the perfect duo that will make the difficult content easier. You are not allowed to use your phone in class. Must attend class since you will not want to miss it. Study not just your in-class notes but make your own notes from the book. Be prepared to interact (it's worth it).

There are 10 quizzes and for the most part she will drop hints like "there might be a quiz next class!" or "bring a scantron next class!" One of the quizzes were really easy like "what color shirt am I wearing?" Just look over notes for the rest and you'll do fine. She drops 6 quizzes. Tests again just go over the notes a bit more.

Professor Ford-Robertson and Dr. Lewis are a great way to start your day. The way they bounce off of each other while teaching will clarify and amuse you. Since the tests are mostly application pay attention to examples in class. Also she tests on lectures and supplemental readings, not really textbook based. Quizzes are easy, but are random.

My favorite professor last semester. You have to come to come to class because she does pop quizzes but she only takes the top 10 grades out of like 15 quizzes. Majority of the examples used on the tests come from class lectures so be sure to show up. Also, SI was great.

TAKE THIS CLASS! All tests and quizzes are online, and most answers (I'd say 70%) of test and quizzes are online on quizlets! Easiest A I've ever received. You don't even have to go to class, but if you do professors are comical and informative. Also, don't purchase a textbook because you won't use it.

The first day of class made me think this was going to be a tough class. I found out that the material covered was not only interesting, but was also very relevant to our society today. Read the learnsmarts, go to class! (she gives random answers for test questions), & go over online homework assignments before taking the test. My favorite class.

The summer online class was actually enjoyable. The exams were based on the modules and some material in the textbook. There were discussions and assignments through out the semester, but they were very easy to complete. At the end of each lecture module, there are 5 pop quiz questions. I recommend going over those before you take each exam.

She is an amazing professor, very detailed and explains topics well. attendance is NOT mandatory but go to class anyway. you will not regret it. her lectures are A1. majority of what is in her quizzes/tests, are very creative examples she makes up IN class- every day! just reading/memorzing the book will get you a C maybe, if youre lucky. Absolutely LOVE this professor. Don't be fooled in that first week, she comes off a little terrifying but she's the best!! Joanne is a very kind and enthusiastic professor. She knows what she's talking about and wants you to enjoy it too. There were only three exams that covered about a month's work of material that isn't due until then. If you pace the work, it isn't too bad but it can pile up.

I took sociology online, and I didn't interact with the professor once. There was really no need to. The class is pretty simple. The textbook is needed because that's how you access the quizzes and tests. If you are more of an independent worker, I definitely recommend taking this professor.

Class participation is expected, which means asking questions or speaking on how you perceived the chapter/topic. Easy enough to make an A in this class. Attendance was technically mandatory but there were times where I missed class and was fine but she does take attendance in class about 75% of the time, so attendance is sort of mandatory I guess. She's a great teacher and I found myself actually listening to her lectures, she's the kind of professor where you actually want to go to class.

Since this class was completely online, there were time restraints on the tests and quizzes, which I wasn't a fan of. Besides that, the prof and class were super chill, you're just going to be reading a lot.

She does allow 2 "gimmie" absences, however after that your attendance will affect your grade! Overall, she's an amazing professor and I will recommend her to anyone.

She's so funny omg. I took an 8am class of hers and she made it not suck. Interesting topics and she has her fun stories to tell without taking away from the lesson. Joanne made my 8:30am class something that I actually LOOKED FORWARD to. She will definitely have you laughing while simultaneously doing a great job at teaching. Only 3 tests including the final. Tests are taken online at home and she has some quizzes for each module. You only get 2 absences before it messes with you grade. TAKE HER CLASS!!!!

Very easy class. She made what I thought was a boring subject very entertaining. She gives you two free absences to miss class. Test and quizzes only, which are very easy. Do not take her if you are a slow test taker though. Very respectful and funny! I truly enjoyed this class.

One of the best professors I've ever had. She's hilarious and makes lectures very enjoyable. Notes aren't uploaded so taking good notes is essential. All exams are open-book but it's still important to study beforehand to understand the concepts. No homework is given, only chapter quizzes and exams. I would 100% take her class again.

I love her class since she makes the lectures actually engaging and entertaining. The textbook is free and online. All the tests and quizzes are online and non-proctored. This professor makes her lectures fun and most of her assignments are easy. Attending lectures is important because it's for an attendance grade and can help you with exams (slides are not posted to Canvas). Exams are also online so as long as you do the work, you will do good.

You have to put effort in to actually fail the class, she is the funniest professor, shes so good at engaging students. She doesnt post the notes, but if you are in class or get the notes it is super easy.

This course is really easy. There are only quizzes throughout the month, 2 reaction assignments that are just essays about one topic you learned for the chapter and I think 2-3 tests. Nothing is proctored, not even exams. But do note that attendance is mandatory. You do get 2 freebies. If you try to cheat the system or leave early she will notice

Exams are online and open for 24 hours, do on your own, and not proctored. her 8:30 am class was very fun and she always made us laugh, which is hard to do at such an early time. just take good notes and attend class and you should be good

She's a great professor, but I messed up on one of the sport projects she gives you as it wasn't following the guidelines, but she never graded my second part that she told me to submit so it dropped my grade from 100 to an 80 and even though getting 100 on the final it still didn't even go up. if fck up on a project just email her you fixed
