Ms Kennedy is the best teacher i have ever had! She is so patient and doesn't make you feel stupid. I can't recommend her enough!
Kennedy is awesome. Very kind, intelligent, easy-going. She explains things very thoroughly and is willing to stay as long as it takes for you to understad.
Ms. Kennedy really knows her stuff. She keeps it simple and will give you all the help you need. Don't let the "deer-in-the-headlight" look fool you. Pay attention, don't miss class and your will be fine. easy "A"
Great professor. Clear and well prepared, simplified material. Highly recommend.
tries her best to explain problems, quiz a few weeks before big test. tests arent too hard if u look over the classwork. gives out groupwork to help grade. would definitely recommend her.
fair teacher, always willing to help
I took her in a winter session and she was great!!....She covered all the material in such a short time...I would recommend her to anyone who is willing to learn math...I got an A in her class and you could too if you just do all the HW she gives out and understand it effectively!
She is very clear and gives you every step of the problem so you won't get lost along the way. She is also just a really nice person. Would take her again for any future math.
She is great. Is a definite plus.Passed both with A.
Gives very coherent notes, but the tests are much harder than the problems she goes over in class. However, she is very helpful and drops low test scores. She is very good at explaining but is a tough grader.
easy A if you try to understand the work. always willing to help and answer any questions. lenient grader and very nice
One of my favorite professors by far, no freebies made you earn your grade, drops the lowest test, quiz, 4 or 5 Group work grades. She is direct and to the point.
If you are very good in math, take her. If math is difficult for you DO NOT TAKE HER
Tests and group work were relatively easy as long as you studied. Group work helped a lot with the tests. She was unable to answer any questions students had and always skipped steps on the board assuming you knew what she was doing. If you're bad at math I wouldn't reccommend her, but the class is okay if you're good at math.
She is like taking an online course.
Always reviews questions on homework or tests. I would take her again. With Algebra you must be able to build on the last thing you learned. I can't see how this class can be taught any other way.
Kennedy is not a bad teacher, I believe her only problem is that she's not very open and warm with her students she doesn't try to form relationships with them and it causes the students to be distance. She assumes everybody understands what she is teaching, if you are excellent at math take her, if not then she will not make time for you to get to
HORRIBLE! She relied on this online program to do her work for her. She couldnt come up w/examples of eqtns to answer our questions. She had us do group work and ignored us while we did it for 1/2 the class. only 7 ppl stayed in class for the final (at least 3 failed) I tried to drop & when she said no i stopped showin up She gave me an F not a UW!
answers anything. she can take up to 20 mins just answering my q after class. BUT U MUST STUDY,MUST, no way around it for her. and u must know wut she's talking abt, focus and take all the notes she give and u'll b fine
Goes over examples in class that are not in the class work, doesn't show what you did wrong or how to do the questions correctly on a quiz/test
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER !!HORRIBLE TEACHER !! SHE COMES TO CLASS WITH AN ATTITUDE DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT ASKING HER A QUESTION BEACUSE SHE WILL RESPOND 2 YOU AS IF YOU ARE A MORAN !! MY WORST EXPERIENCE EVER IN SCHOOL//
avoid taking her if at all possible. She both has very little knowledge of the subject, and a complete inability to explain it. Basically, expect to teach yourself; you will not get anything out of class. plus, she looks like a bird.
THIS TEACHER IS HORRIBLE!SHE EXPECTS YOU TO KNOW EVERYTHING ALREADY AND SHE MOVES TOO FAST SHE NEVER BREAK DOWN THE PROBLEM TO SHOW YOU HOW SHE GOT IT.SHE WOULD BE OK IF SHE HAD SOME TYPE OF PERSONALITY AND THEN SHE USED A CALCULATOR WHEN SHE TOLD US WE COULDNT.WHEN WE DID GROUP WORK SHE HELPED US WITH THE ANSWER & WE STILL GOT IT WRONG!
I took her over the winter and that was a HUGE mistake. She doesn't explain herself clearly. She uses advanced vocabulary confusing the class even more. If you ask a question, she rolls her eyes and makes you feel incompetent. Don't take her.
She does not explain herself well, and if you ask a question during lesson that she cannot answer she will tell you to come see her after class?!?!?!WHY??? You must already have a clear understanding of algebra to begin with as well as the sense to obtain new information. She is nice and if you ask her for help during group work she is willing.
This professor is simply horrible and I can say for certain that the class agrees with this fact. I would rather have the book teach me because at least it has a better personality. She will mark a question wrong for the smallest mistake in a long problem. I would not recommend this prof. unless you enjoy banging your head after class.
Could be okay if you already have a knowledge of the algebra
She's okay!! can't really complain.
This is possibly the worst professor I have ever had across all subjects. She's incomprehensible and never offers her help. When you ask for it, she'll sigh in disgust as if she is far more superior in intelligence. She constantly looks at the clock and clearly hates her profession. Save your GPA and don't take care her.
I agree if you do not have some knowledge of the subject then you will be lost. I do not recommend taking her classes, she does seem like a women who doesn't want to be bothered.
Like many others I am dropping out her class now in the Summer. Today she said that 80% of the class is not doing well and will not pass the Basic Skills. Who is the problem? 80 % of the class, or that rude, unclear, sarcastic, terrible, unprofessional professor? STAY AWAY FROM HER FOLKS!
SHE IS HORRIBLE!!!!! SHE MADE MY EXPERIENCE BACK TO COLLAGE AND MATH TERRIBLE...MAKE YOU FEEL STUPID...AND BOUGHT ME TO TEARS...SHE SOULD NOT BE A TEACHER....TEACHERS SHOULD BE CARING AND NICE MOST OF ALL EXPLAINE THE WORK IN WAYS STUDENTS CAN UNDERSTAND IF THE DO NOT UNDERSTAND IT HER WAY...WE DO NOT ALL LEARN THE SAME WAY...SHE DIDNT CARE IF YO
I've only had her for 1 day and I'm about to withdraw from her class. She does not explain the work and expect the students to already know what she is talking about.
Shes not all that bad.. just need to have some previoud knowledge before entering the class. As long as you do youll pass. and you need to make sure you studyy!!!
Horrible... she not clear in her teaching, pretty fast, does not want to answer any qiestion and gives tests that has nothing to do with what she tought.
Horrible... i tought i could make it but no i hated it. i used to love math untill i took her. she is pretty fast and hard. she is no help at her. if u ever thinking about taking her class, think twice.
She's really not as bad as everyone's making her sound. Sometimes she does go a little fast, but she always asks if anyone has questions. She just seems a bit distracted sometimes. The tests are hard.
TERRIBLEEEEEE if your not good at math, DO NOT TAKE ! worst teacher i have ever had . no exaggeration. if your good at math shes tolerable but if your not a math genious forget it..
This professor is very professional. She gets straight to the point. She checks classwork, which is great. She wants to make sure that you get it.She explains everything step by step and always ask if there are any questions. She requires that you are very attentive in class. Do what you are suppose to and you won't have any problems.
She has an odd sense of humor. However she was able to teach the class in a way everyone understood. I would def take her again!!
only talks about class nothing else. can be quiet. sticks to syllabus. uses textbook everyday. easy class if you do homework and actually pay attention.!!! easy A if you go to class, do homework, study
She is a wonderful teacher she go by the book. She wants you to learn it, all you have to do is pay attention in class and do your homework. It gets quiet in class but it so worth it having her as your professor.
She is a very nice professor. As for the lectures, she goes at a steady pace that is slow enough for those who do not understand, and fast enough so that those who do understand don't get bored. She ALWAYS asks if anyone has questions on the previous work at the start of the class and after each section. I enjoyed her class. (:
Doesnt help or answer any question you have. Moves very quickly, talks and faces the board the whole class,
Plain and simple great person this is my second time having one of her classes she has a great balance when it comes to teching and gos just fast enough to get threw to the class but so enough to understand what shes teaching. She allways asks if you need help shes just a great person to have one your side so recomended for everyone!!!
Good teacher, crazy looks
A very shy and sweet professor. She doesn't talk about anything besides class so students can get the wrong impression about her. Her teaching style is simple and easy to follow, she follows the book to the T. She always asks if anyone had questions about the homework or boardwork and will help u understand. Tests are easy if you study!
She is the best professor, she knows what she is doing and explains things step by step, which is very helpful.
Professor Kennedy is very timid she even looks scared to teach but she is helpful and her teaching skills are on point. She's very clear and goes step by step so you can understand. Pay attention if you're not good in math and you'll do just fine
Professor kennedy was not helpfull at all.She quickly assumes that you know it all. She moves too quickly on her lessons. I would not recommend this teacher.
I very much recommend her not because of the way she looks but how she teaches. She takes everything nice and slow the only part you have to do is the end work which is fairly easy. After all the tests and finals will be a peice of cake if you did all the HomeWork!! Trust me if you do it then you will know it.
I had her for the winter semester. She is very clear in what needs to be done, and her teaching style is very standard - you will learn in her class if you do the homework, listen, and ask questions if needed. She means well and is straightforward, but can be boring. All in all she is a good, solid math professor without any bells and whistles.
She is a wonderful professor. Her teaching is clear and great. She teaches everything you need to know for the test and that's it. If you miss too many classes and fall behind on the homework you will definitely have trouble with this class. Overall I definitely recommend her!!!!
WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD! NOT HELPFUL AT ALL, MEAN, COLD. DOESN'T EXPLAIN OR GO OVER THINGS! Rushes over the material and expects you to know it already. If you are not good at math DO NOT TAKE HER YOU WILL FAIL!!!!!
Very informational, but takes no interest in her classroom. Even though I did all assignments and took notes clearly, I still seemed to fail. I am a hands on learning, and her methods does not fully help. I would not recommend her to anyone as far as getting help.
She teaches by the book, she is not lenient at all only with proof of emergency, though she seems friendly but cold at the same time. She does drop lowest grades. So try your best and you'll be fine just try not take it in the summer its alot to take in we did 2 sections a day thats 8 a week. Even though I tried my very best I still seem to fail.
One of the best math teachers I have ever had, and I'm NOT a math person took sum1. Come to class, take notes, do the homework, ask ?. It was a lot of work, but if you put in the time, you'll do fine with tests. She double checks your work in class and preps you for tests. Though she seems distant, she was very pleasant and understanding with me.
If you are not good in math i would not suggest you take this professor. She teaches straight from the book and comes off very cold. It seems like she gets annoyed easily and shows no enthusiasm or passion in what she teaches. She does gives great notes and if you study a lot you will pass.
Everyone learns differently, sure. In order to learn professors need to communicate. Prof. Kennedy does not.. at all. I mean she smiled literally twice in the whole semester. It's very clear that she's not passionate with what she does. I tried to be cool about it, but JEEZ. If you don't want to teach, make a move MS. Kennedy
Awful experience for my first semester of college after doing so well in math in high school. She was not at all enthused with what she was doing. If I asked a question to further explain a problem, she would look at me like I had five heads. Not helpful or motivating, wouldn't recommend her to anyone.
Prof. Kennedy has her pros and her cons. It helped me that I excel at math, but her style makes it very accessible. She deconstructs the problems step-by-step. She gives mandatory classwork; 4 tests, plus a Final. Her downside is her timidity. She should interact with students more often, in order to encourage them. But what she teaches, sticks.
I earned an "A" in this class. As a hard working student with a high GPA. I came across taking Professor Kennedy, she was very un-motivating and had no emotional, nor physical concern in HELPING students understand the curriculum. Math and just learning seems long and difficult in this class.I helped most of my fellow peers when troubled. Good Luck
She''s a good professor but she''s boring and she gives homework like its the only class people are taking all year. its a little excessive.
i was recommended for this class based on past knowledge of subject. the way she teaches is awful and not helpful at all. the class had difficulties following her and she never explained or answered our questions.
Awful experience with her. Very cold with students, and constantly seems irritated with anyone interaction wit her students. Tests and quizzes are difficult if you aren't good at math to begin with and she's a very harsh grader. Very rude when it comes to asking her questions as she talks you like you're subhuman. Not recommended at all
Beginning of the semester she was rude in class when asking questions. Barely anyone spoke in class. 10% of grade includes coming late, eating etc. but she comes six minutes or so late to class every time. Stops in between lectures writing her notes. Teaches easy material and tests are tough with hard questions includeing 'untaught' material
JUST GOD AWEFUL, I'm still wondering why she is a member of the faculty. Shows no interest in subject matter or students, I give her an "F". I highly recommend looking into another math professor.
I highly do not recommend taking her as a professor. She does not answer questions instead she lets you find your mistakes even when you can't figure it out. Her grading system is not accurate nor consistent. Doesn't communicate with students. If you do happen to take her don't use pen, she deducts point for scribbling because answer is unclear.
Stay away if you're in need of developmental algebra. She's not sympathetic or understanding. Do not waste your money or time. Find another teacher trust me...
STAY AWAY not sympathetic at all or understanding, do not waste your time or money. shows no interest at all in her job with the students and her grading system is just outrageous. does not demonstrate material clearly and her reviews are pretty much questions that will not be on the tests Find another teacher trust me.
AWFUL MATH PROFESSOR!! Doesn't not communicate with you at all, she seems like shes in a different world in class, Her grading is not fair at all neither.
stay away because you can never hold the fire with her (test, home work, .........) - hardest test - home work infinite (you can't finish it ) mymathlab - no phone - no smile - textbook - calculator - class work after any class absolutely you will get (F) easy (piece of cake :) notes: don' care later stay away better
Pro. Kennedy is a tough teacher but she teaches you the skills you will need if you are moving further in the math field. If you learn by just doing problems than her class will be hard for you but if you know how to learn the mathematical vocabulary than you will do grate. Test were very much whatever you studied in the reviews she gives.
Couldn't teach a class of toddlers to be frank with you. She comes off very awkward and robotic during class to begin with. No smile or welcome gestures from her. Forget trying to pass or get a good grade. Avoid this trainweck of a professor!!!!!
Dropped her class the first week! She gave a ton of homework on the first day of class and even more on the second day.
Arguably the worst math instructor I've ever had.
She's tough on tests and exams in regards to grading. No second chances for makeup work or office hours what so ever. Participation is another part she's strict on. Not bearable
I think Professor Kennedy finds pleasure in failing her students. The work load is tremendous. You HAVE to participate, or else she deducts 20 points for not doing so. Lectures turn into quizzes seeing as she checks if everyone writes down her notes, then checks off who did and who didn't. I failed the class thanks to her obscure teaching methods
Whoever thinks she's a decent professor must get their head checked out. For real. Looking back, I should have thought twice beforehand when choosing a statistics professor. Kennedy half the time doesn't have a clue what she's teaching, only relies on the book and computer to do her job. I am utterly disappointed
I'm a math major and can teach better than this passionless woman. Stylistically, she is a mess. She has this lazy handwriting that I can't stand. Funny how she writes on the board hoping every one can read it lol. Squiggly numbers, words, YOU NAME IT. The other thing is how cringeworthy those awkward pauses in class were when she asked questions.
WORST PROFESSOR IN MY TWO YEARS AT UCC. Avoid at all costs, she always comes into class in a terrible mood and doesn't even bother to help students.I did all the work in her class, never skipped and yet I still failed. Every time I went to ask her for help she never explained where I was going wrong and refused to meet outside class hours.
Horrible horrible ... whoever you are reading this . You either made the mistake to take her . Or DONT TAKE HER
Worst math teacher I have ever had. Flat out told the class she will not help us. Tests r a major part of the grade so if u don't do well on them its not even worth thinking you'll pass. Will give u a 0 on classwork if u ask to take it to tutoring. Hard to understand, responds with an attitude when you ask questions, seems only in for the money.
take her class and YOU WILL PAY TO FAIL
Nice professor but very very dry class material is self learned she will not break it down. I learned more in the ALC then in the class. You walk outback of class more confused when walking in. It is literally up to you to pass. Hergrading sucks a part of a question could cost a major point subtraction from the score.
Kennedy is an ok professor. She doesn't really let you answer the question. She works at a slow pace and speaks low. So, if you take this class, sit up front. She's kind of boring, but it's a really easy class. We used the textbook a few times.
Absolutely horrible. I don't know how this woman is a professor. She is rude, and doesn't help you out at all. She has no personality, doesn't explain any topics taught, and she is so unorganized. This lady should be fired. Do yourself a favor and please do not take this "professor".
Class started with 30 students, I counted 14 today a week before the final. Shes awful. Teaches straight from her notebook, makes material dry. Every class is a 90min lecture followed by classwork that you must finish to go home. If you dont get it, she tells you to get tutoring (doesnt help/re-explain). Tests contain stuff not in the lessons.
Lots of extra credit. Multiple choice tests. Lectures boring but very helpful.
Her teaching method I found to be pretty solid. She only gives help if you absolutely need it but that's the problem with her I believe. Normally if I have a question I have already been having trouble with a problem for a while. She also seems to have zero patience with students. Stay away from her there are better teachers that actually care.
Too much homework, but it helps to do it. The tests are like the homework.
Fantastic instructor! She really helps alot and cares that you learn the material. The handouts help you learn the material and to study for tests.
if you see this teacher as a recitation teacher at Rutgers RUN. Save yourself. Cant teach without looking at paper with answer and doesn't explain anything and moves entirely too slow. Trust me. I never write reviews but felt compelled to warn others.
Professor Kennedy's recitations were very slow and hard to get through. Although she takes her time for each problem, she doesn't interact with the class too much unless if anyone has a question. Even so, she gives very short answers and doesn't seem to focus on whether everyone understands or not.
Do. Not. Waste. Your. Time. And. Money... Professor Kennedy does not teach. She seems so out of reality that you can barely understand her muttered incoherent words. Half the class was gone within a week, and the rest only passed by studying like if there was no tomorrow to compensate for the lack of actual teaching. I've never had So MUCH Homework
