She's overly helpful, and puts up with way too many interruptions in the class. If you're rude, talk during a lecture, or let your phone ring loudly this class is for you.

She is extremely organized and to the point. Explain things very well. Very helpful. She does repeat lots of things, things that are going to be on the test. So if she repeats something (especially more than once), you are pretty sure it is going to be on the test and better study those points.

Taking Lopez for any of the Bio 40 series is a good idea. I think she is probably the best A&P teacher at foothill because she is VERY organized, she will cut out anything that she doesn't feel is needed (which can add up to many pages a chapter) and if you study well you can pass her class.

I really learn a lot of things in class. She is a wonderful teacher I have even though she is a little bit strict.

Took Lopez for Biol40A & B. Extremeley straight forward. What she covers in lecture is on the exam. Very thorough in her lectures and she states the same thing in different ways so even the student with ESL can understand. Follows rule, very disciplined teaching skills! An excellent instructor!

She's very clear with her lectures and lab. She is always well-organized which makes her class more interesting. If you need help, she will definitely help you without making you feel stupid. Joanne is probably the best instructor for A&P. I got an A in her class.

Not easy class and you get what you put into it. Extremely organized. If she repeat things, there is a high chance it is going to be on the test. Take real good notes (or tape the lecture) because her tests are base on the lecture. For AP, I was recommended to take her from a friend who took her. I never regretted it.

Excellent professor. She is beyond organized. Do NOT miss a Class!! I cannot stress this enough. Her tests are based soley on her lectures. I barely opened the book. Tests are very hard-you have to know HOW the systems work, but if you take good lecture notes, study from the review sheets, and read each question and answer, you should do well.

She is a good teacher and the class is easy, she writes out the notes on an ovrehead, so it is easy to take notes. The only thing i did not like about her was that she talks way too slow, she elaborates way too much, and it is a bit monotone. I got an easy A, but man it was torture.

Very good teacher! Not too many like her. She is VERY organized and tests are based on lectures. Not too much reading is required. She lectures very slowly to where it is hard not to learn and remember the material. Go to class and take good notes.

Dr. Lopez's lecture is well-organized, easy to understand even on the material which is hard to understand. Her lecture is detailed, and she makes sure most students got the context just in the lecture. Besides the class material, she prepares a lot of side materials as assistance for students. I feel that I really learned a lot from her lecture.

Lopez teaches physiology with passion, which motivates me to learn. Hard working teachers usually demands more from students. She is no exception. Her exams are not easy, but if you get the full picture, not fragments of knowledge here and there, you will do well. Her lab quizes requires good spelling, so be aware.

simple class...never need to attend as all she really does is go over figures in the text and TALK ABOUT THEM REPEATEDLY...instructs like audience is composed of 5 year olds...go over study sheets...exams only to differentiate a and b students...some tricky ?'s...if you get all the 'easy points', you only need a 82 for an a...labs are simplistic

Wonderful professor. One of the best I will probably encounter. She is very clear and thoughtful with her lectures and extremely approachable. Even though it's not mandatory to attend, the lectures are very important for the tests. I will miss her class...she makes the most complicated things understandable. I had her for Bio 40 ABC.

This might very well be the easiest class I have ever taken. Getting an A on her tests is very simple: If it is bold or italicized in the book... study it! And if anything is mentioned in association with acetylcholine, study that too. She seems obsessed with it. I didn't attend lecture the whole quarter, still got an A.

Dr. Lopez is definitely very clear... lab practicals really easy, but I thought the lecture tests were fairly challenging. She simplifies everything in lecture but you need to know ALL the details for the exams, so I just stopped going to lecture and studied the textbook on my own. Overall a good teacher, really approachable.

Lopez is an amazingly clear teacher. A&P is a very complex subject and she breaks it down step by step extremely clearly. She's serious about her job and takes a tremendous amount of pride in presenting a clear concise lecture. I had to work very hard, but it's complex stuff! Don't miss class, you'll have a hard time. Here is the problem, when you attend the lecture, you think its very easy but not on her exams. YOU HAVE TO READ ALL THE TEXT BOOK, Her lec notes are not good enough for the exams. Great and very clear teacher. Her study guide is great. All her lab exams are from her study guide. She is EXTREMELY hard on spelling. If you misspell one letter, she will mark you down. If English is your second language, I would not recommend her. Many an A students don't take her.

I LOVE LOPEZ! She's one the best instructors I have so far! I don't think she's difficult at all since I attend lecture and study, that's why I get an A in her bio40b and bio40c classes. I didn't take her for bio40a though, which I deeply regret. I enjoy her lectures too! God, I will miss her. It's funny, since I get the urge to hug her at times :)

WONDERFUL INSTRUCTOR! One can tell she loves what she does & is willing to help anytime. Her labs are what you should exactly know in the study guide & tests will be sometimes tricky, but interesting! If you need someone helpful, clear, kind, pleasant & organized, must get LOPEZ!! :)

Great teacher who actually TEACHES rather than simply read power points. Very organized as well. My advice for an A: BRING A TAPE RECORDER, because she doesn't post lecture notes online and there will NEVER be anything on the test that she didn't mention in her lecture. Labs are straightforward/ easy (just follow the study guide she gives you).

Lopz is a good instructor.for ESL student it is better not to take her class.there is no chance to maintain your grads.make sure u did very well in the first lecture and lap exam. you cant maintain your grades even in exam 2,3 u get A.there is no chance for ESL student.no spelling mistakes.

She docks off points for spelling and does not give any partial credit for that. Totally ridiculous. She is very clear since she gives full study guides for her lab exams but I would probably take someone else over her. I heard that Kew is easier. Lopez makes u memorize a ton of stuff and requires you to know the physicology aspect too.

She was challenging but her lectures and study guides were very clear. She knows her information so well she actually even made corrections with our textbook. She is kind, very approachable, and extremely understanding when it comes to student issues. She got her PhD from UC Santa Cruz. I'm proud to see another brilliant Latina doing her thing!

She is a nice lady but her lectures R dry, boring, w/ very little structure. I missed 1. Many students fell asleep. Her lecture exams were very difficult with the wording being tricky. The good thing is that I can say her labs were fair, if you study her study guides, spelling counts. Won't be taking her again. I liked Melia & Jacobs.

This woman definitely knows her stuff and is very knowledgeable. Her labs require perfect spelling. She says each question is worth one point, but some of her questions require 2 answers in order to get credit.You need to understand everything and take GREAT notes for her lecture, study her notes (INTENSELY). 1 lecture question is like 5 questions.

Professor is good. If you are lazy, you will not do well in this class. Spelling is important!!! Exams are fair. If you dont study you will have a problem with the multiple choice questions on the exams I can tell you that.

Dr. Lopez is truly a gift to all Biology 40 students at Foothill College. The human body is one of the most intricate "creations" known to man. Explaining the complexities of the body requires skill, intelligence, structure and devotion. Dr. Lopez has all these qualities & more. Information needs to be layered on properly, & she does so with care.

She is an excellent teacher as I have had her for 40A and 40B. Labs are pretty easy if you are a good speller. Lecture exams can be tricky so make sure you study everything but her review sheets are very helpful.

I had her for both BIOL 40A and 40B and she is a FANTASTIC teacher. She is AWESOME!! She gives you everything that you need to succeed, you just need to put in the effort to memorize and understand! Took her for 40 A and 40 C and she is the best! MUST ATTEND ALL LECTURES, pay attention, and study outside of class and you will easily get an A!! She will tell you everything you need to know to pass. Can be boring at times, but at least she's organized, clear, and helpful.

A&P is an extremely tough subject so be prepared to work, but with Lopez it is clear what she expects & she makes it possible to get a good grade. everything in the exams she covers during lecture there are NO surprises on exams, she is just very focused on detail. take her if you want to see your hard work pay off

MUST, MUST, MUST pay attention in lecture! Lecture is dry, but is the basis for all her exam q's. Fair grader and very willing to answer questions during the break and after class. Saw lots of people texting or on fb during class... and they wondered why they got a C...

Dr Lopez is great. Lectures can get a little boring but I think it's because she is making sure she is thorough. Attending lecture is not mandatory but it pays off to go. Her exams come primarily from lecture material. There's no guessing what will be on the test if you go to lecture. Awesome Bio teacher.

Dr. Lopez is the best! The subject isn't easy but if you attend lectures, do the assigned readings and complete the study guides, you will get an A. Her test are more than fair and several people even score perfect scores. I managed to finish the course with a 99%, therefore anyone could do it if they just put in the effort

Her lectures are NOT dry if you are interested in A&P. I enjoyed every lecture. Quizzes are online (not timed). Lab quizzes reflect study guide and spelling must be accurate. Use class notes as primary source for lecture exams (take good notes)! She is a great instructor. You EARN your grade in this class so study well and it will pay off.

Her lectures are a bit boring, but that's the Bio 40 series for you! She's a super sweet lady - issues out study guides for both lab and lecture (WITH PAGE REFERENCES!!), as well as a list of chapter readings. Lecture tests are HARD/wording is also tricky. BUT study and value her as a teacher. She's one of the better A&P teachers. :)

She was nice, but her lectures were super boring. She counts spelling on lab, but not really a problem if you're good at spelling. Also, she gives you free bonus points on every test! I got over 100% in 40A and a 97% in 40B. Go to lecture, take good notes, and supplement with actively reading the textbook and you'll be good.

Labs and quizzes are pretty straightforward, lecture exam is NOT. She is one of those teachers that puts tricky questionsmultiple choice answers on the test. Good lecture, obviously knows her stuff but on the test you gotta know the material down to the letter or you might choose the wrong answer.

Mrs. Lopez is wonderful! Physiology is NOT an easy course in general, but she breaks it down very well. Her tests are tricky, and are designed to test how well you pay attention in class. Labs and lectures are both very extensive, but if you stay on top of everything, it is very doable. I loved her and would def recommend her :)

For such a difficult course she does a very good job. She outlines exactly what she expects for the lab exams(flashcards are your friend), and as long as you read the textbook, you will do fine for lecture exams. STUDY STUDY STUDY! Stay on top of your work, make good notes, show up to class even if you just listen.

Mrs. Lopez is an amazing teacher. She is tough but the course it self is very tough. Lectures are long but she makes sure you understands the topic well. Her test can be tricky but is you come to class take good notes and read the book you will do fine. Never test you on things she does not cover. Awesome teacher if you want to learn!

Awesome class. I really want to take her for 40C in the summer if possible. Just show up in lecture, take good note, read your note every day, know how to spell in your lab exams, your chance of getting A is very high. Crystal clear lectures with a lot of application. Dr. Lopez is a phenomenal professor. All her lectures are handwritten so you much attend lecture. Her exams are based off her lecture notes. She provides very clear, concise study guides as well to help you study. I received over 100% in her class from the extra points she includes in her exams. I studied approx. 7 hours for each test.

Lopez is very nice & helpful. Her lab exams are really what killed my grade. She writes them so tricky to the point where you need to re read the question about 5x for all 50 of them:/ I wish they were more straight forward like her study guides. Lab exams are way easier just study. Theres online quizzes, easy. She gives extra points on each exam.

Taking lab for 40A with her. Couldn't ask for a better teacher. She is crystal clear. Her study guides are very helpful and she treats students with respect. I hope I get to take her again.
