honestly, im not much of the book worm when it comes to studying + i freak out during exams. i'd understand her lectures & notes. they were great.. her tests in my opinion were hard with like.. 6 different choices to choose from on each question. maybe

what you guys talking about? She has patient and she wants to give us extra credits all the time because everybody did bad on the tests. Basically there are 3 exams, and one extra exam that you can take or not. She drops the lowest test. Anyway, test is hard and tricky. But if u memorize all the note and understand you will get around B+~A. i got B

Absolutely amazing professor. Knows her stuff, excellent teaching style. Tests are extremely challenging, but she does everything she can to prepare you for them. Attendance is a must, missing a day of notes throws you off and you feel bad for missing it because the class itself is a lot of fun. She is also very approachable if you have any qualms.

She truly holds her students to a high standard! I personally love her I got a B in the class and that was my fault I did not study hard for the last two exams, she is very engaging I loved attending her class.Be cautious if you do not know how to study well Her Exams Is going to drive you crazy They are very DIFFICULT.

This Professor is incredibly fair, very intelligent, and knows what she is teaching. She makes it her goal to make the topics fun, and because of her, I consider changing my major to Psychology. More professors should be as intellectual and professional as her.

She is a great professor. She makes you interested and gets you involved. Her exams are pretty tricky but she gives you study guides so you know what to focus on when studying. Make sure you review all the vocab in every chapter you're being tested on it helps alot! She throws in txtbk vocab on the exam when she hasn't even mentioned it in class.

This professor is a demonstration of how all professors should be funny, fair, clear. Although she explains very well the material and says great examples, her tests are difficult. Dr. Pierre-Louis is an amazing professor. She is very helpful with assignments, very thorough with class lectures, and very funny. This was my favorite class, also the most difficult. Studying is a must, the exams are very tough, so you must study and apply yourself. Do the homework, presentations, participate, study, and you will be fine.

This is the hardest class I ever took, if you don't read the book AND take note your chances of passing will suffer, class are better interesting and she knows what she is talking about; however, if you are a student who likes to just pay attention on class and no read the book (like me) you will fail, I would avoid this class.

Great professor, semi-difficult course work. Definitely possible A if you show up and TRY. Tests, while easy, subject matter is extensive so it's hard to know what will be packed into it. She makes them seem harder than they actually are, but you still need to study. If you ask for help, she will give you it.

One of the best teachers I've had in this school. You can tell she enjoys teaching and cares about her students. Very considerate and if you study her slides/handouts exams and quizzes are a piece of cake. I would recommend watching crash course psychology on youtube. The exact same thing and save the money as oppose to buying the psychology book

Hands down one of the best and most interesting professors I've had while at LaGuardia. You will NEVER fall asleep. BUT if you just want an easy A stay away unless you truly want to learn. I can only say good things about Professor Joanne Pierre-Loui. She has a great personality, that captures all of your attention during her lectures. Yes, she is NOT AN EASY A. You will have to read, study, and write a lot during her course, BUT you will learn. If you are a devoted student then you will totally appreciate her style of teaching.

Honestly one of the best teachers I have had so far. This was my second time taking ssy101 and Ive honestly learned more than in my first class. This professor is very understanding and is willing to work around a situation if you ever had one. I would highly recommend taking her class.

She awesome, but you cannot be lazy in her class, youll be setting yourself up for fail. You have to do your own homework so, make sure you study the textbook and the PowerPoints. If you dont understanding the lectures you will fail because she comes up with her own questions for the exams. Exams are worth 75%. Choose wisely.

Don't take PSY101 w/ her if you are lazy. Her lectures are focused on the material that you need to write down and focus on. She requires you do 8 HW assignments and one group presentation. You will have 3 exams, with a possible optional 4th exam and drop your lowest exam grade. She puts in work, and you should too! Study, Study, Study, Work Hard!

Very funny, she tells stories in order for you to understand the concept. Anything she adds goes into great detail on, will be on the test. The final is optional. I suggest reading the chapter before the lecture just to be on top of your game. Lots of reading but if your a PSY Major, this is just the beginning ��

Wonderful lectures, very personable and respectful. Don't expect and Easy A. You will learn in this class and you will enjoy the class, but you have to do the work. Grading was 75% exams so if you are a bad test taker you may not want to take this class.

I found her class to be interesting. Her tests are not easy. None of them are multiple choice. The best part of this class are the lectures ,I would say. If youre a psych major youll find this class interesting. The worse part I would say are her tests and the group presentation you have to do as well.

Dr. Pierre-Louis is a very funny teacher, makes the class engaging for you to understand. There are four exams but one is optional, each worth 25%. Exams start off difficult but then it gets easier, both multiple choice and written about 18-20 questions with bonus questions. One project with a group, very time consuming. Homework every two weeks.

Professor Pierre-Louis is amazing! You can see how passionate she is about teaching. Lectures are very enertaining. Exams are multiple choice with a couple essay questions. She gives weekly homeworks and the attendance matters towards the garde. There is one group presentation. Overall you are gonna have to put in work but its totally worth it.

Professor Louis was overall a great professor but her lectures were just very very long and you have to read soooo much. Oftentimes I got bored in class and dozed off. Her test do come off of the textbook and not so much off of her lectures.

Honestly had a great time taking this course. Everything that was being taught was easily understood and there was even humor thrown in there which made me look forward to taking the class. Very straightforward, gives great feedback and just overall a great professor.

I passed the tests without studying, but the ones I studied for failed.... reading will kill any social life you got but its a super interesting class if you don't mind a B or B-, lectures are super funny, but its a lot of work for sure.

Amazing professor but the test are hard. Make sure to study the textbook as well as notes because she will be behind on the lectures. Study hard because the test are scenario based and really requires you to think rather than it being based off definitions. I will say the final is pretty easy but study extra hard!!

The lectures were good and funny. For the exams, you need to read the class notes AND the textbook. For the last 2 exams, I didn't have a lot of time to study, so I read Appendix D, which is like a summary of each chapter. If you have questions for her, ask during class or right after. It's hard to get in contact with her via email. Exams are hard.

Very kind and helpful professor, as an international student I found her veryhelpful and kind. I would say she is a good person before a good professor. If you miss quiz she will give a chance for such things . I appreciate her.
